On a whim, my family and I drove from Columbia, SC to Charlotte, NC on a beautiful, warm Sunday afternoon for dinner to discover the Cajun Queen tucked away amidst a commercial/ residential neighborhood. While we didn't have reservations, the hostess pleasantly found a table for us. While I vacillated between a seafood platter or shrimp and grits, I opted for the seafood platter. My husband ordered the pork chop. My children ordered catfish and shrimp. GET THE FRIED CATFISH! The chef fried all of the seafood to perfection, and I could not have been more pleased with our selections. The fish flaked well against my fork and was well-seasoned. One of the best characteristics of Cajun Queen in addition to food quality, taste, and flavor was the food came out piping hot; I appreciate a hot versus lukewarm dish. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

What a lovely place. I had a cup of Gumbo, totally delicious, I could eat it every day. I also had the Crayfish Scampi and Fried Green Tomatoes, also very good. At 7PM a lady and a gentleman started to play jazz, it was so lovely. Staff was kind, helpful, joyful and polite. Thank you for everything!

Wow! From the moment I walked in I was greeted by cheerful host and shown to my table where I was meeting my party. Our server Justin was friendly, kind and attentive. Our food was exquisite! Compliments to the chef! The decor and charm of the house is quite pleasing! I wander upstairs where the bar was also a live jazz duo playing, it very awesome! I also noticed there was outside seating available which would wonderful for a cooler evening. I cannot wait to bring my mom here for dinner. This will become staple to bring any and all of my family and friends to from now on😁!!

Barbecue shrimp was spot on and definitely reminded me of authentic New Orleans cuisine. The fried oyster dinner was plentiful in volume, juicy and fried delicately. The grits were smooth stone ground grits and delicious! Friend enjoyed her shrimp and grits and gumbo. Service was attentive and kept drinks full and hot bread on the table. I will definitely return again for dinner. Very reasonably priced.

I didn't have a reservation, but I was able to eat at the upstairs bar. A fabulous meal! I chose the blackened shrimp and grits, and the flavor profile was out of this world. I had the peach bread pudding for dessert. The three-piece jazz band added the finishing touch to a great night.

Great experience. We went for Valentines Day weekend. The food was great. The staff was nice as well. They offer complementary valet. The valet attendant was very nice as well. Please make sure to make reservations, that makes things run a lot smoother.

Yesterday morning my husband and I had the absolute pleasure of dining here. McGregor provided impeccable service! He was so genuinely kind, was very knowledgeable, and provided one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. The food was amazing and the portions were plentiful! We are already planning to visit Charlotte again in the near future to dine here again. Thank you all! If it’s your first time I highly recommend starting with the bbq shrimp and fried oysters.

We made reservations on Open Table. The service was actually phenomenal! The food was pretty good as well. However, I did have to add a little salt for a bit of flavor. This is a very antique building and they seem to keep it up pretty well. There is an additional newer section with a rooftop view available too!

Had an amazing time here and so thankful for the friendly staff that squeezed us in between reservations to celebrate a birthday! The atmosphere was so fun with live music and happy bellies. It was a bit close quarters but it didn't take away from the overall experience in my opinion. The food was top tier, full of great flavors and spice! And the cocktail drinks were SO tasty - my favorite was the Louisiana Lemonade. Will definitely be back to celebrate more birthdays in the future and will take advantage of the complementary valet !

Excellent service. Food is absolutely delicious. Staff and management was extremely nice and attentive. They even comped my dessert when they found out I was celebrating my birthday solo. I wish I could give an extra point for that gesture. Will definitely come back on my next visit to N.C.

Wow! What an amazing, lively place! Great welcome from using their valet to the welcome at the door to great service while there. The food is authentic cajun and loved the live jazz music upstairs.

This was such an incredible discovery! The service was top-notch. They were more than happy to accommodate for our dog, allowing us to take our reservation at outdoor seating and bringing her a water bowl. Angela was our server and she was phenomenal! She was fun, cheery, attentive, and personable, and she helped us out with plenty of food and drink recommendations. I got a medium rare ribeye - perfectly cooked, super tender, and altogether delicious! If you're like me and you're not a big seafood person but everyone else in your party wants to go to a seafood place, there's still plenty of options here for you. If you're looking to treat yourself to some fancy food in a semi-casual environment (no dress code - you can dress up or dress casual and still feel comfortable here either way), I'd highly recommend you give this place a try!

This place has really delicious food. I had the Eggs Bendict with Crab Cakes and hash browns from the Brunch menu. The Crab Cakes were very tender and tasty. The hash browns were done just right. My friend had the Seafood Gumbo. The service was good. I like the fact that they have live jazz although they have not posted on their website when it is. I also like the fact that it is a date night place - which for me means you can dress up. I am sure I will be back.

From th curb to seating it was an experience. This place really gives you a home in New Orleans feel. The food looked so good I forgot to take a before picture. After the first bite, I knew why they are so recommended. The food was delicious, not too spicy but definitely flavourful! Our waiter was Dakota and her was so sweet and informative. Donnavon was on point made sure we didn't have to ask for anything. The service was above and beyond.

First time here, had reservations for our anniversary. Seated quickly and given complimentary wine for the occasion. Bread bought soon after and water kept filled. Michael was our excellent server. We had the BBQ shrimp and fried green tomatoes appetizers. Our entrees Shrimp Diane and Blackened catfish. Dessert Key lime and Bourbon pecan pie. Everything was seasoned well and delicious. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Yum yum yum!!!! That fried salt and pepper catfish was truly amazing!!! I have been searching Charlotte for a good fried fish and this definitely made the list!!! Wish the red beans and rice had a little more flavor. Was a good dining experience with pleasant staff. Children are picky eaters so we had a hard time finding something on the menu (even the children’s menu, maybe that’s why we didn’t see any children there🤪)

I got the blackened salmon and a cup of gumbo and overall the food was cooked well and absolutely delicious. I sat upstairs in the bar area and there was a jazz band playing in the distance and they were also amazing! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The amount of food I received was also very plentiful and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area! Definitely stop in here and check this place out the owner is a great guy and the food is amazing and the prices are as expected for the amazing food and service.

👍👍 It was delicious, exceptional drinks, I expected a heated space, as it was cold. I definitely recommend wearing more then 2 layers in the Winter. 👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
