It's my wife and kids choice for dining here. I was the first time but they were not. Their specialty is BBQ. Well, I wasn't disappointed. I like their pull pork and fried ocra. Buffalo wings were also very tasty. Oh! We waited 30 minutes but I think it's worth of the wait. This place is, of course, a bar. The atmosphere was pretty good for a leisure dinning. People enjoy chatting, drinking, and good food for a good time. Definitely recommend it.

Good Carolina barbecue. Large portions. Thick brisket slices tender enough to cut with a fork. Just try to eat a Pile of pulled pork or huge ribs or chicken wings. Guaranteed leftovers. Five different barbecue sauces to experiment with and the sandwiches are good too. Huge bar for night life fun.

This location has a very calm atmosphere if you’re looking to spend some time by yourself or with love ones in a not so crowded environment. I ordered the 6pc wing half hot half barbecue for about $12. I asked them to cook a little longer because often the chicken can seem a little undone or too pink in the middle. I also ordered a shrimp taco for about $5 which was OK, I can’t say that I will order it again there was nothing special about it. My mother got the St. Louis ribs with two sides macaroni and tater tots, the macaroni was surprisingly good! We also got two drinks that wasn’t good at all I don’t recommend the drinks nothing special about it also didn’t taste well. I have to mention that people came with dogs which we are not a fan of at all. The dog owners also wasn’t respectful of other peoples space and keeping there dog from trying to lick guest. They did offer a lunch special but we did not order from that. I also got a banana pudding to go to try which was good as well. Overall I gave the place a six out of 10 because there was nothing really worth going back for. In total I spent around $90 at this location

My friend and I stopped in a the South Charlotte location for a quick drink and dinner and the BBQ did not disappoint! We had almost the same thing (so my photos of the meals look like dupes almost)! We loved the Barbeque tips and if you like collard greens, they are amazing too! I really enjoyed the little pickle garnish that they place on the side and the sweet potato fries were on point! We had no wait time and we enjoyed a table in the outside bar area. They had a good selection of beer and I had a hard cider. The live band that was playing was a bonus that we didn’t expect—it was a very casual, relaxing vibe when we went last night. I have also frequented their location in Cornelius, and the food was equally good. Mac’s Speed-shop also has bike nights and other activities listed for the month (posted in the restroom). Other patrons also had dogs in the outdoor area which was nice to see. I wish I had room for dessert, but I’ll have to try that next time!

Was in town for the Carolina vs. Vikings game. Ate there on Saturday evening. The food was delicious, and the service was awesome. The brisket and turkey were the best. Oh, and the cucumber and tomatoes salad was excellent. It was so good, went back Sunday after the game. Great job Mac's speed shop

I went here for a 2nd time with a friend and my twins. I must say I completely forgot how tasty the food is...the buttery sweet hush puppies are to die for. I could literally eat 2 basket full of those before my food even comes. The inside was a first for me as I ate outside the first time. The inside is beautifully decorated and offers great vibes! Our service was very friendly and prompt the drinks were banging. The music wasn't all that but I'm assuming caters to the crowd. But I would recommend the jalapeno pickled deviled eggs.

Are here a couple nights ago and was exrmtremely happy. The whole place was nice and very cool. Nice outdoor area, live music on a Wednesday night. Had the brisket nachos of give them 3 stars, they were good but just not a ton of brisket on it. For my meal I had 1 shrimp taco 5stars, and the Brisket Philly wrap 5 stars also. Delicious! Everything on the menu sounded good. Would Def go back if I'm in the area again. Nice little area the restaurant is in too. Go get ya some and enjoy

This place is just getting better. I typical visit the location on South Tryon but decided to gives this location a shot. Alana our server was excellent and gives great drink recommendations. Food was hot and well seasoned. Great atmosphere. Did not have to wait for outside seating. Front door hosts were funny and entertaining. Definitely be back.

Great authentic BBQ. Beans and Mac and cheese our favorite sides. Chopped brisket and ribs favorite meats. Bone in chicken also delish. Pulled pork was not that great. Has two flights of beer so got to try great local beers too!

As a New Yorker we don’t get to eat at a lot of authentic BBQ spots so when I’m on the road i try and make a point of stopping at a few. Macs is a good one - a real good one. Mac’s has a HUGE beer selection, prices are very fair and you can even sit outside with your dog. The food was great, ribs were fall off the bone, the brisket burnt ends were amazing and their Carolina style BBQ sauce is delicious.

Stopped in for lunch. Good beer selection and atmosphere. I had hushpuppies and the sausage sampler. The hush puppies were great. The sausage was disgusting! It's listed as smoked sausage and it might have been but then they deep fried it! It was hard, greasy and dry! That's not what I consider BBQ!

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat while hanging out in Charlotte for the day. My husband and I split the brisket platter with sides of mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, and a basket of hush puppies. Our preschool aged kids are slightly picky but liked the fries, high puppies and mac and cheese. The food all tasted really good. In fact, the hush puppies were phenomenal and I've had them at quite a few southern restaurants. Healthy portion, plenty of butter, and perfectly bite sized. The sweet potato fries were definitely fresh and I wouldn't have minded them to be slightly more crispy. Still thoroughly enjoyed them. The brisket and Mac and cheese were both delicious but slightly cold, as if they were made earlier. I will say we are a late lunch so I'm not terribly surprised and it wouldn't stop me from going back. I was pleasantly surprised that our family could eat a platter and share a beer for approximately $35/40. (We did have a fruit cup and some crackers that we brought for our kids). PS I loved sitting on the patio and watching the cars drive by!

Was in Charlotte for a quick business trip and decided to stop in for some BBQ while I was waiting for someone else to land at the airport. Mac's did not disappoint! The brisket was juicy and tender, the mac and cheese was thick and cheesy, and the beans were amazing! The inside was a pretty cool concept, especially if you are into motorcycles. It very much has the vibes of being in a shop. They also have a pretty huge beer selection as well. Their slogan of Beer, Bikes, and BBQ very accurately describes everything about Mac's! The food was soo good, I wanted to stop again before leaving, but they didn't open early enough, so I missed out on a second trip. I will return next time I am able, for sure!

Newer to the area. Came in today for lunch with some friends. The ambiance was great. Everyone seemed happy (you don’t find that much anymore) The manager came over and asked how everything was which started a whole discussion that was hilarious and our server even got involved. Nice to meet new people and feel so welcomed. Will def be making this our new football spot.

*THE ONLY REASON I AM GIVING THIS A 3* OVERALL IS BECAUSE THEY DIDNT HAVE THE ITEM I INITIALLY WANTED AVAILABLE. Went to lunch with some friends, and I had ordered the SMOKED BOLOGNA STACK with fries. After 25 mins, the chef came out and told me that they would not be able to serve me the sandwich due to availability, I was very DISAPPOINTED. He asked me what else I would like, and I chose the smoked wings, and they were good, just not what I truly had my heart set on eating. He did comp me for the food i ate, so thanks for that. The manager came out and apologized and said that it was a POPULAR item, and that was why it would not be ready. Everyone else said the food they had was really good and enjoyed the atmosphere as well. We ordered burgers, wings, wraps, tacos, and chicken sandwiches. Overall, it was good. I just wish I could have tried the SMOKED BOLOGNA STACK. Maybe next time.

The burnt ends were incredible. Wish I lived closer because man they were good. Also, the hush puppies are delicious. Highly recommend if you want some great bbq in Charlotte.

I had a late showing in downtown Charlotte. Instead of sitting in traffic, I chose to get a bite to eat. It was about 5 pm when I arrived. It was before the dinner crowd. I sat outside on the patio. They are dog friendly on the outdoor patio. 🐾 I ordered the Brisket with Mac and Cheese and House Salad. I love coming here. The selection of local IPA beers is awesome. The BBQ chicken is highly recommended as well. Don't forget dessert. Warm Chocolate Brownie with chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream. They never disappoint. I'll definitely be back.

To be honest, I was stoked to be in Charlotte again and go to Mac's for some brisket that I recall was amazing years ago. Stopped in tonight and ordered a brisket platter. To my dismay it just wasn't good. It seems the brisket sat in the warmer presliced for a while. It was dry and tough. It also had absolutely no flavor, anywhere. The center had no flavor, the bark had no savoriness I'd come to expect. I suppose if you slathered it with their delicious sauces, you'd be none the wiser. 🤷

Ate here for the first time tonight and had an incredible experience. Even though they were very busy, it took much less than the 15-20 minute estimated wait for us to be seated. The food itself was exceptional: the chicken taco I tried was perfect, and the pickled red onions on top took it to the next level. The hush puppies with honey butter were delicious as well. Our entrees were equally impressive: the pulled pork was the best I've had, and the seasoning and cook on the pulled chicken was excellent. Their macaroni and cheese is very cheesy and flavorful, and I've not had better fried okra from anywhere. One of the standouts from the meal was the beef rib: I tried some of someone else's and even though I really don't like ribs, even I couldn't deny how good they were. Supposedly they're not on the menu year round, but they absolutely should keep them on permanently, because holy cow! Great atmosphere, incredible food, and really attentive service. We left very full and very happy!

I had really high hopes but was let down. The meat had too much fat for my tastes. The tater tots seemed to be fried is an oil that had a distinct flavor that I didn’t like. The Mac and cheese was not as creamy as I prefer. I must be spoiled for Texas bbq. The one highlight was the bbq sauces they had. The North Carolina sauce and the Carolina sauce were very good. I would by a bottle of that and skip the meal.

I spent over $27 for this. A literal handful of brisket (I have really small hands) with two small sides & a slice of plain untoasted white bread. What the heck? I try my best to not do bad reviews, check my previous reviews if you want, but this is crazy. Never going to order from here again.

Take out orders BEWARE! Food was fine but not to thrilled with “take out”. Ordered a shared platter and you get no sauce, but if I ate there have sauce options go figure. Also ordered an extra side of fries and get a very small order for $4.50!

BEST SWEET POTATO FRIES EVER. The chicken wings and Philly wrap were also good but compare nothing to these fries!!

Excellent food. Good sauces. Ask about the extra spicy secret sauce. Kind staff and great location. Parking can be awkward sometimes, make sure to check signs near by to avoid fees. Overall a great spot.

Hands down the best BBQ in the south. I’ve traveled looking for something better in all the southern states and it’s nothing out here compared to Mac’s . I couldn’t catch a picture because my hands were messy and the food was too good to look at too long . The ribs were the best I’ve had in my 33 yrs of BBQ. The brisket was A1 like the steak sauce. I live in Atlanta and every time I come to Charlotte I stop by Mac’s. My next visit is coming very soon TRUST ME. PS I need some of that western Carolina sauce I LOVE IT !!!!

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
