False advertisement: Claims to be pet friendly but you can't order food if you have a pet because you can't bring your pet inside and you have to order from inside. Not pet friendly... (Update to response: manager was also sassy for no reason and if I go to VBGB by myself with my dog, I literally can't because there's no way to order food once again - as stated)

To go in you have to pay to park. No big deal right? Well it's $10 and you can only choose until 3am. To validate parking takes an act of Congress. So just expect to loose the money. The atmosphere and the employees are great. Very friendly and light. The food is overrated though. I got the BBQ chicken sandwich. There was more jalapenos than there was chicken. My wife got the Mac and cheese, it tastes like noodles with black pepper on them. I'm a big cider guy, so I was disappointed when the only cider had a bad aftertaste to it. I'm giving two stars because the fries and employees were great. But the overall value was low.

This was a really cool spot and definitely worth the scary walk through the cemetery to get there. They have a huge local beer selection! I tried a local and they even had a beer from Brooklyn which I had to have as I live on the west coast now but used to live in the NY area. To my surprise they also have a good pretzel/brat/dog menu and I had a dessert pretzel! It was yummy as they were out of the bites they made this one custom with Cinnamon and sugar with white chocolate! Oh they have Beach volleyball tournaments here and I got to watch a few!!

We held an engagement party here and they were suppler accommodating! They are one of the few spots that don't charge for events and there were multiple things going on. Even with a full house, the food was timely and the bar was always on point. Great service!

This is a great beer garden with Ample beer selections at relatively great prices. They offer food from there side kitchen which was decent, I had the chicken club sandwich. They have a good amount of seating both inside and outside and have several outdoor volleyball courts. Be aware that parking is paid but can be validated with your purchase. Bar staff and kitchen staff were both friendly. Recommend for a casual hang out with great beer and decent food. 4 stars.

Really cool joint just off the beaten path right next to the amphitheater on the south side of uptown. Plenty of places to sit and chill including a huge outdoor patio. There are 5 sand volleyball courts, cornhole, and oversized Jenga. The indoor bar has plenty of seats, also. Lots of craft beers from which to choose, as well as a full array of liquor & spirits. The full menu has lots to choose from and during events they have a limited menu that still has plenty of variety. The service is extremely friendly and patient. All in all, very well deserving of the full 5-Star Rating!

Came for lunch and figured the food had to be good from hype around this place. The price you pay does not match the quality of the food. The mac and cheese tasted like veleeta and the bbq sandwich was half chicken, with it being mostly pretzel. The fries were great, but this is definitely a place for a beer and snack. The outside music was also extremely loud.

TOTCHOS AND STOUTS BABYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! Omg I love VBGB. I have to say, they have the BEST fries. I've never had any like them. They are extra crispy and have what I believe is ground sea salt. Perfect salt to potato ratio! But let's talk about the totchos. Picture in your mind and your taste buds what you think nachos but with tater tots instead of tortillas chips would be like... I'll give you a second...got it? Okay. Well I'm here to tell you that they are even better than that!! Nothing would have prepared me for the deliciousness of the totchos. I have had them ONE time and have been unable to get them off of my mind since then. I haven't had a chance to make my way back over there yet (damn adult life) but I'm surely going back! They are a bit spicy from the jalapenos but I'm sure you can always ask for it without those. I definitely say to check them out! They are also one of the few places around Charlotte that I have found that have stouts! So if you're a dark beer person, definitely check them out! Thank you VBGB and thank you to Offline for making this one of the monthly rewards for November!

I go to play sand volleyball and hangout with friends. I haven't actually attended the concept venue or eaten much of their food. Drinks and parking are pricey, but they comp parking if you buy anything (which I make a point always to do). Great sand courts and they have an outdoor section that makes it easy to watch while enjoying friends / drinks.

Great place to grab a bite before a concert at the underground or the Fillmore. Their fries are some of the best I’ve ever had!! So hot & fresh and however they’re made is just so good lol

Always a good time! Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Have come before concerts and for volleyball leagues. Always have a good time.

The same high level of service and food quality and drink selection as the day they opened their doors. Can always count on VBGB to be a great experience. Had the pretzel and totchos this time and man were they good.

Awesome vibe, complete beer list, and great food. The menu is well thought out and very creative without being bougie or pretentious. It’s the perfect pregame spot for concerts at Skyla Credit Union Amphitheater, the Fillmore, or the Underground!

Amazing beer, great food, and even better ambience! If you are looking for a nice beer garden with a ton of different beers on tap, a great open concept indoor and outdoor seating area for intermingling, playing some outdoor games or just enjoying good company, VGBG is worth checking out. I was surprised by the quality of the food for a place that focuses mainly on beer. Though a lot of it is bar food, they have also implemented a nice fusion of German food into their menu with quality ingredients and an amazing combo with the beer. They also had some rather surprising vegetarian options like a tomato, veggie and mozzarella skewer and delicious black bean burger! We ended up deciding to cater our most recent gathering which was very well executed and all of our friends and family truly enjoyed the food and beer. We will definitely be doing it again!

Visited several times before concerts, and review is for August 16th, 2023. Nice little place to grab a quick bite and draft beer before a concert at the Amphitheatre or Music Hall that are both located next door. Food is ordered at the counter, and swiftly delivered to your table. Food service was fast, but the chicken club sandwich was a little dry. Plenty of craft beer on tap, but they would not serve samples "because it's a night with a show at the Amphitheatre". As a craft beer enthusiast, I'd prefer to sample a few before spending $10 for a pint. There is plenty of seating inside, and they have a large outdoor patio, most of which is covered. The patio is surrounded by volleyball courts, so that adds a little bit of visual entertainment. All of the staff was very friendly, but the food and lack of beer samples set them back a star.

The boneless buffalo bites were amazing! I enjoyed the burger with Mac as well. They had a good beer selection and great outdoor seating. Fun to come here before a concert.

Great atmosphere and vibe. Too many cool beers on draft to name. If you don't know what you want, ask to try a sample! The staff is awesome. Go with a large group or a small one they have tables to accommodate. Food is top notch as well. Try the fried chicken bites and the Bavarian pretzel!

I only come here when I'm in town for a concert and it's always been great. The validation for parking is easy and the staff can help if you have questions. The food and beer selection are good and a fair price. The bathrooms are clean and the parking lot is well lit. The staff is always kind and quick to help. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Our order took awhile because it got mixed up, but when they found out we waited long they refunded us, got our food out quickly and were so nice about it. Excellent and genuine customer service. And the food was amazing! I had the pretzel with beer cheese and the garden salad. My husband had the chicken bites and fries and said it was really good. Parking was really easy and cheaper than I expected.

This is the second time I've been to VBGB. Last year they hosted my daughter's college party. We dropped in for a late night bite after a concert. We got some burgers and fries and they did a great job. These fries were awesome. They weren't greasy. Not at all. The burger had just the right amount of vegetation on it. I didn't feel like I had to put half of it too the side like I usually do when I get a burger. Emily, the manager, was extremely kind to me when I called to ask if they had found a sentimental hat I lost. While I haven't heard back yet, I appreciated that she took the time to take my concern seriously. I know we will be back because we go to the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater for concerts in the summer.

We arrived prior to a concert at the Filmore. The service at the bar was adequate but it was difficult to get any of the bar tenders attention. The limited menu pub food was terrible. It took 45 minutes to get a hot dog, mac and cheese, fries and chicken bite. Other than the mac and cheese, the rest of our meal was disappointing. The hot dog was ok but the fries were tasteless. The chicken bites were tough and over cooked. Actually, they were not edible. I am hoping our experience was just a fluke but we will not be back.

Service was good as far as the manager being accommodating and having good customer service. We had a margarita, & the frozen rose' beer. They were ok, nothing to write home about. We also ordered the honey BBQ wings & a basket of fries. There are only 8 wings in the order, & between the 2 of us, we didn't eat them all😒, but the fries were pretty good. All in all, this is a place for a younger crowd, & just not my cup of tea.

My wife and I took our daughter to a concert at The Fillmore on Friday night and we decided to hang out here while she was at the show. We were able to park right by the building, which made for an easy exit when we left (and they validate when you eat or drink there - AWESOME!!) The food was great and served quickly. They had 30 taps with all different types of beers. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. They allowed us to sample as many of the beers as we liked so we were able to try lots of new ones we hadn’t seen before. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely return.

Eh. It was ok. I used to like this place a lot more but it's more of a bar now. A bar with slow service too. We were easily the oldest people in the place (mid 40s). The bar tenders never looked at us to see what else we needed. We had to flag them down every time. They would have sold a lot more drinks if they would have been more attentive. Had the pretzel which was good, not the best but better than most.

Always love this spot. So many beers to choose from, awesome menu for food, the vibe is always great, and the patio is lovely. Great that they validate parking for free. Literally right at the music factory so it’s super convenient for shows. 100/10. Always coming back here. Tom Kara and Emily are the best!

We love coming here for Trivia and have been coming for years. Staff is always great. Parking can be a little overwhelming at first but easy once you understand the new system. If you're not a fan of huge crowds, look out for the concert/event schedule for music factory, very big difference when there's not an event. Beer variety is good and always changing. Food is always good, it is a smaller menu but haven't had anything that didn't taste good. True tragedy however that the fried pickles have left the menu, used to be our favorite in the city.

This is an excellent venue to host small parties/events. I've hosted and attended a couple of surprise parties here and the event staff is super helpful. The drinks and food are all great. So many beers to choose from! The giant pretzel with beer cheese is amazing, super soft and just the right amount of salt. The fries are also very good. highly recommend!

Great place for beer and bar grub. Excellent setting, a great place for a night out especially if you are catching a concert nearby.

Got food poisoning from eating there on a concert night. Do not eat here. Volleyball and beer are fun. Only eat the food if you want the worst night of your life on the toilet with no sleep. My friend and I shared a plate and we both got sick immediately after eating there. So yes it was your food. Thanks for taking responsibility VBGB.

Absolutely love the experience of this place! The one complaint- would be that the food is not great. But honestly, most people don't come here for the food. The atmosphere and all around vibe is definitely worth the trip. All the workers were super nice and we have always had a great time when we go!

We went for trivia and it is amazing. First time for trivia and did not know we could make reservation for a table, so all tables were already taken and had to sit in the bar. Food is ok and they do have a variety of drinks. Only downside is they never showed me the items I purchased because they just show an iPad to sign and specify the amount you want to tip. I asked for a receipt but never got it. If interested on this just hit the email option rather than the printed version.

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
