When one thinks of an Irish bar, the general assumption is that there will be good pours, good service, and a very nice kind of "old school" ambiance. That said, Connolly's could be used as a prime example of the genre! Lots of good music played at just the right volume (most of it Gaelic), a fine selection of liquors, including The Balvenie Doublewood . The friendly bartender exhibited a wisdom beyond his years for his professional treatment of his patrons, which is a quality sadly lacking in most places today. If you want to visit an Irish bar that lends the illusion that it's St Pat's every day, this is the place... an absolute must for visitors in Charlotte... Thank You!

Very busy bar with a lot of younger people. They ID, but there were definitely some very young looking individuals. The toilet in the women's single stall only restroom did not flush and women were just peeing in it and loading it with toilet paper as well as peeing all over the floor. There are no paper towels. The bar is very hot and so crowded you can't walk through, but the music was lively.

Super cool spot to grab drinks. Service is always attentive. Always appreciate a cold beer and great conversation with another patron. If you're in CLT, stop in.

Great little Irish pub and best bar in uptown Charlotte! No food, but sports played on TV’s when applicable. Irish sports and rugby played in the mornings. The staff is amazing. It gets pretty busy on weekend nights, but by far the best place to stop in for a quick pint when in the area.

The interior was nice and relaxing. The var wasn't to crazy and had outdoor seating. The owner or manager was nice enough to bring my receipt outside to me as I wanted to see and experience the level of service they provided. I bought some random nice people a round of shots. as most people in the city were not very friendly. They were informative and helpful. Thank you.

As much as I want to support my favorite bar Belfast, I have to say Connolly's serves the best Guinness on draft hands down in Charlotte. From the pour to the clover leaf it is exceptional done, even when it's busy af they still produce a quality pint. It is to be assumed given that it is one of the few true Irish pubs in Charlotte. My favorite thing about Connolly however is the fact that one day you can enjoy a random conversation with some guy while playing chess then the next you're dancing to club music on the weekends upstairs. It's such an experience you just have to give it a try.

It’s been a good time every time at Connolly’s - especially for a packed bar which, in every other situation, is not my scene anymore. But, this is walkable from my apartment, looks just like a pub you’d see in Ireland, they know how to pour a Guinness(best we’ve had in the city), and many of the bartenders are actually Irish (which makes my partner happy when he’s here visiting from Ireland). I think I saw bags of Tayto being sold, too :) Staff have always been so nice and the patrons are fun and welcoming. We always have fun chats with friendly people every time every time we’ve been. Door guys are always really nice, too. I do wish they served food but Ri Ra is just around the corner. Come over for a pint before or after!

I’ve loved Guinness for a very long time and I am always happy to find a bar who can pull off serving one! We stopped in for a late night drink and had a great time. Service is outstanding and the atmosphere was lively. We’ll be back our next trip downtown!

I came to Char to visit and see what the night life had to offer. I stopped in here to get a drink. Place was clean, and the bar tender was very friendly and greeted me right away. I was served within the first 5 minutes of walking in. This place was overall nice. The music playing was fun and my drink was good. They had cute candles for ambiance on each table. I will definitely come back here again.

Excellent service on even a busy night, with reasonable prices despite its pricey neighborhood. Nice, dark, and inviting interior, with a good front porch view of pedestrian traffic.

Came on April 7th in the evening to be greeted by the the most upbeat positive and welcoming doorman, which is very rare and appreciated. Awesome place. Will definitely visit again when in town.

Best Irish Coffee in Charlotte, NC! Super authentic and intimate. We just got back from Ireland and can’t tell the difference!! If you’re looking for a Guinness that tastes like it’s directly from the storehouse in Dublin this is the place!

I love this place. The bartenders are awesome, especially Wolfie. The drinks are good, reasonably priced and the atmosphere is always fun. We stopped in last Sat, after dinner and stayed until they closed the upstairs area. Awesome time fellas! Thanks so much.

One of the best Irish pubs I've been to. I've never had a bad draft Guinness there, which I can't say that's the case for other places.

Connolly's On 5th is one of the best Irish pubs in the Carolinas and their bartenders are authentic from Ireland with the accents and everything!! Kayla is a beautiful lass who made sure to chat up all the guests at the bar even when it was at peak busy levels. She was amazing! The customer base ranged from locals out on the town to tourists visiting from all around the world. A truly diverse group all enjoying a pint at the pub together. There is a wide variety of Irish Whiskeys available and the Guinness pour was divine!! SLÁINTE🇮🇪🍻🍀🍻🇮🇪
