We had a great time. The food was amazing. Service was great. We ordered the following: French fries: delicious… highly recommend! Falafel: nothing special, hummus was too chunky, wouldn’t recommend. Larry’s Buns: delicious! Pork belly was tender and flavorful. Highly recommend. Local Mushrooms: the mushrooms were well seasoned but the focaccia was stale and dry. Also a hit heavy handed on the scallions and chives. Sunny-side up quail egg was a nice touch. Garganelli: homemade fennel sausage and tomato sauce was so good! The sausage had a little spicy kick but my 9-year-old still loved it. Highly recommend. Korean beef: very tender and flavorful. The rice cake appeared to be an afterthought. Would’ve been better if it was hot and crispy. Scallops: comes with two jumbo scallops, cooked perfectly but the seared could’ve been crispier. Broccoli purée was a nice aesthetic touch on the plate but lacked flavor. The single stalk of broccolini was perfectly grilled and a surprise highlight of this dish.

True to it's name, the food was good. In fact, some dishes were simply amazing. What blew me away and left an unforgettable impression were the mussels and this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like mussels. To start, the mussels were cooked wonderfully and it was presented in a way that was both delicate and bold. But the real star of the show was the sauce. It had such deep and complex flavors but they never once overpowered the mussels. They managed to make a spicy and refreshing sauce that was pleasing to the eyes and taste buds. The Maitake was good. It wasn't nearly as bold as the mussels, but I really appreciated the way they managed to so masterfully combine flavors. I was not nearly impressed with the Korean Beef. Not because it wasn't good, but because I felt that the sauce provided was too strong and tended to overpower all the other ingredients. The salmon was not very good. This is the one dish where I felt that the ingredients were at war with each other. Visually amazing, but lacking in execution. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend it.

Loved Good Food on Montford in Charlotte. It was packed on a Tuesday night. Loved the space and ambience. Our server Lee was fantastic. He was very attentive and friendly. The food was unbelievable. My only negative is that the portions were a little small. We had so many amazing things. We had the Korean beef, the mussels, the octopus, Larry’s Buns, Brussel sprouts and fries. Everything was delicious. Will definitely go back.

So they have been around for awhile now but I just really got a chance to check them out this past weekend & I was a little disappointed. After someone I knew had highly recommended this place I highly doubt I'll be back here unless a few things change . I would describe this establishment as a dim lit upgraded bar but serving high quality dishes . My Garganelli pasta was actually pretty darn tasty & those Parmesan fries omg I could have sat there n ate those all day to be honest . The Brussel sprouts were just ok I barely ate those. So with all that being said customer service is everything & if you're missing that it takes away from everything else. Rebecca was our main server and she was great but she also had someone helping her at the bar named Laura , and she had the absolute nastiest attitude anyone could have . You will never find me on here complaining too much at all but this definitely has to be mentioned . She seemed very bothered as If she didn't want to be there , maybe she had a bad day who knows . But it's unacceptable when you're dealing with the public . Laura made this a not so great experience to even dine here . At first I really thought I was tripping until my friend mentioned the very same thing about her attitude towards us . I would come back because the food was passing but if I have to encounter miss Laura again no thanks .

Has been consistently one of the best dining experiences in the area for a long time and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Food is great here but the service really stands on its own as well.

Being in the culinary world, it takes a lot to impress me but this place was a hit. The food was scrumptious! Drinks were done very well. Ordered the falafel, foccacia bread and pastas. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely return.

We had dinner for two here mid week. Menu small and eclectic. Started with soft pretzels and fancy named French fries and both were very tasty. Main course was pasta with sausage and then their Mahi fish. We also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were excellent and better than main dishes. But both main courses were very good. Plates and portions small as presentation over substance prevail. One big star taken off as main courses served at least 10 minutes apart. That in my book should NEVER happen as other person just stares at their food getting cold hoping the other dish comes out later. Otherwise service good and staff attentive. Not sure if it was by chance, but almost all tables were ladies and we were one of the few man, women couples in room. Server stated that every night is ladies night here. Pleasant dining experience.

The quality is fresh and the combination of spices and condiments are delicious - it all felt very satisfying and healthy. A great vibe in the restaurant and everyone looked like they were enjoying their meals. The service is also great as well. Will come back!

Atmosphere was great, top notch in Charlotte. The drink menu and food menu are very promising when reviewing. However, the overall service and quality per price is less then other tapas restaurants in Charlotte, NC. The waitress we had seemed to not have tried any of the wines or cocktails, which makes it hard when asking for suggestions or tasting notes on the items they are serving because reading off a menu what something is does not replace a personal explanation. We ordered mussels which were fantastic, but they took 40 minutes to prepare in the middle of the meal which is not acceptable. Tapas are meant to come out quick and at certain times of a meal, not have huge gaps in between dishes. If a menu item takes longer to prepare just inform the customer that is the case. Finally, when ordering dessert we ordered scoops of ice cream and a drunken chai. We were given pints of ice cream which aren't even on the menu and charged for the pint, and the drunken chai ($13) was consumed in 4 sips because of the amount of ice in the glass. In summary, there are a lot better restaurants in Charlotte that you will have a better experience and better food for the price. Stagioni (part of the same restaurant group), Soul Gastropub, Barcelona, just to name a few tapas restaurants which I personally have had better experience in Charlotte.

The food is usually very good and the experience too, but tonight I had to deal with someone that didn't feel like bringing the feel like bringing the food out for curbside pick up. I arrive 10 minutes after they told me the food was going to be ready, called and they woman that picked up the food said that they will bring it out when is ready, called a few minutes later to check on the food, the same person picked up and said that it was coming out. It took a total of 20 minutes to come out, 30 minutes total after the time that it was supposed to be ready. When the person brought the food to the car I asked why it took so long, she said that nobody had called before...

Got here for a RSVP at 630 . Waiting for 30 min for the server to tell us she didn't have the alcholol for their drink specials. We then proceeded to order a round of three tapas. The first two took about fifteen min and the other took forty five. During this time the server never came over to check on us nor offered to get us another round. From the over cooked scallops to the terrible service this was a huge disappointment as we have heard good things from friends but after sitting for almost two hours with only three tapas to sample we decided to head home and not wait any longer. We never were able to sample the entrees due to the fact we had to head home after two hours and didn't want an all night affair.

Amazing food, but be ready to spend money. The food is tapas style, so small dishes. We've ordered everything on the menu and haven't found anything we disliked. Great for date night and birthdays.

Atmosphere and service were great. The options were limited and subpar. Everything was cooked in either butter or cream, would have liked to see some healthier options.

We’ve eaten at Good Food many times and always love the food. We ordered takeout tonight, and all the tapas were delicious but we were really blown away by the fresh bread of the day, and the Leslie’s Cookie Basket. So unexpected and SO delicious - highly recommend ordering!

Fantastic restaurant with helpful and knowledge staff. Great place to share, delicious small bites. Place is usually very busy with a wait. Green curry mussels and the sweet potatoes arepas were outstanding. Tried a lot of dishes and were not disappointed with any of them! Would highly recommend and will be back.

Amazing tapas style food. The scallops, steamed bun and carnitas plates were my favorite. The lemon pound cake dessert is a Top 5 dessert for me ever. And they have espresso drinks! What’s not to love!

I’ve been here twice already and I like it a lot!! Southern comfort food for real! Love the cornbread, mac and cheese and their fried chicken is just so good! I always get it and it’s just one of the best fried chicken I’ve had. Highly recommend this place and service is always nice, quick and efficient!

We had the most amazing Valentine's Day dinner at GFoM. It was our first time visiting and the food and drinks blew us away! Our server, Jackie, was friendly and fast even though it was the end of what I'm sure was a very long, busy day for her. We will definitely be back for another date night!

I was not expecting such a great wonderful place to eat lots of small plates, so close to home. Good food on Montfort is da Bomb! My wife and I had a date night out and tried almost every dish on our night out and I will say this it was not cheap but it was wonderful. Well definitely go back there again, again, and again. It's a little hard to get into so make sure you have reservations. Update a year later... This place is still rocking it to the nines!!!

Creative menu! Our meal for 2 consisted of corn bread, falafel, maitake, tagliolini, Korean beef, and chèvre cheesecake. This experience is definitely more of a tapas style, so we were excited to try things all across the menu. When you go, ask for Monica to take care of your table - she was great with recommendations, and so pleasant! This place does have a bit of parking and there was plenty of street parking as well. Would recommend!

We arrived around 6:30 and it was already a bit busy. We decided we were going to share a few things so we started off with the cornbread which was airy and tasty and the truffle fries then the salmon roulade which was very fresh. The nori and smoked trout roe blended perfectly and the salmon was perfectly seasoned. After that went with the maitake mushroom served over polenta which was delicious. Service was impeccable! I was quite impressed with our server Dawn who guided our experience beautifully. For dessert we went with her suggestions and got the cheesecake and the creme brulee which couldn't have been better! So rich and melt in your mouth creamy goodness. I had been here before but they have definitely upped their game. We'll be back soon!

This place we better than good, it was great! Walk into a dimly lit room with a bar and plenty of tables. We had the chefs counter in the back and got to watch the prep of some of the food. The Brazilian cheese bread is a great pull apart bread and comes with a delicious fog sauce that you will want more of. The charcuterie board had 4 different meats and tasty bread with a strong crunch. The falafel had amazing flavor on top of a bed of hummus. Both the Pork Belly buns and the Korean beef were excellent. I liked the buns more than the beef personally. Finished with the flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and served on top of toffee, which adds texture and a nice sweet and crunchy accent to the desert. The food was great. Portion sizes are a little small, but the flavor combinations are delightful. Highly recommend

I cannot say enough good things about Good Food! We love the food, drinks, service and vibe. Plus, they take reservations now! Personally, I prefer to sit at the bar. Make sure to try the Korean Beef, Steamed Buns and the dessert cocktails!

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner, with a very kind server who provided excellent service and recommended a wine that matched my preference well. The garganelli stood out as one of the best pasta dishes in town. If we hadn’t been so ambitious in trying many dishes for the two of us, we would’ve opted for the full size instead of the half. The green curry mussels were also delightful, and because there was a lot of curry sauce left, we felt the need for more naan bread (although we didn’t ask). Do you see the pattern here — carbs rule? ;)

  • 5/5 Ali 5 months ago on Google
Visited with a colleague while in town for business & it did not disappoint. The ambiance is cozy & inviting. Our server was wonderful & full of helpful suggestions and insights. Our highlights were the Korean beef and the green curry mussels. I will be thinking about these dishes for weeks to come. DIVINE. We also loved that they offered 3 or 6 oz wine pours. Without having to overindulge, we could pair a few small pours of wine with the dishes so beautifully. I would love to see suggested wine pairings on the menu beside each of the small plates. We made some selections as we saw fit & it elevated the experience even more. Good Food is doing good things. Don’t sleep on the chance to eat here!

This restaurant lives up to its name. As I was leaving Good Food I felt like I was an advertisement for it. I just kept thinking and telling my brother (who I went to eat with), "wow, that was some good food." Our server Jeffrey was great also, upbeat, fun and knew his stuff. Good Food deserves this five star review.

  • 3/5 Chris K. 3 years ago on Google
This was a tough decision. Cons are the outrageous prices and extremely limited menu. $10 for a small side of cauliflower? Give me a break. Almost $20 for a 1/2 portion of gnocchi? No thanks. The food is very good. Not amazing, there's several other spots to get equally tasty meals. The service is excellent. Definitely enjoyed my meal but also disappointed. I'd say this has nothing on Soul.

It’s been awhile since we’ve visited the GFOM. Covid messed so much up. We had great trip back. Found small plate options adjusted to different options. We always show up without reservations and pray for patio seat. We’ve always gotten lucky. This time we noticed The Barker Lounge for the first time. I never remember hearing that many dogs while dining. In the future we might have to make real reservations on the inside to dine a bit more peacefully. As always though some of the best dining we seek out. I could have stayed here for hours. Loved absolutely everything. A friend recommended we eat here years ago. We finally did. We’ll be back.

Great food, great service, but scammed us into spending almost $40 more than we should have. Charged us a $1 for extra bread (it was two, VERY small pieces) then our bartender/server asked us if we wanted to TRY birthday shots for my boyfriends birthday, implying that they would be complimentary, and charged us $20 for them. Again, great food, but who charges for an OFFERED drink???

  • 4/5 Simon K. 5 years ago on Google
Good Food was quite good but with so much potential to be better. Starting with the highlights, the korean beef is truly spectacular. The beef is thinly sliced to perfection and placed atop the crispiest of crispy rice with some seriously delicious dressing. The mussels were also quite delicious, large and meaty as they should be. As for the things that were subpar - there was a bit of a dissappointing texture battle. The arugula salad for example had a sprinkling of croutons that were unsatisfactory in crunch, rather soft and somewhat soggy. The pot de creme also had a beautiful cracker decoration which was also dissappointingly soggy and lacking texture. Overall 4/5 with potentiall to be a 5 with a few minor tweaks.

Absolutely delicious! A cozy ambiance with a diverse menu of shared small plates and a nice wine and cocktail list made for an excellent dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive.

  • 3/5 Hope Jada D. 4 years ago on Google
The atmosphere and ambiance are lovely. The staff is delightful. They have a great wine list and also carry many of the local craft brewing company beers. The food is not my style. It is Tapas style - small, rich portions and comes out when ready so one person in your party could be waiting much longer for their food. Plus, for the portion size, the pricing is not in line. A big negative is the policy of not doing separate checks. This is the first time I've run into this in many years. Trying to figure out 6 individual accounts to be charged to the cards was ridiculous. I never have a problem with an automatic gratuity being assessed but for the love of the Maker don't make us do the math at the end of the night!

  • 4/5 George F. 6 years ago on Google
Some good, some average. Soup was served very hot, a big plus for me. Steamed bun was not recently steamed, it was like they steamed all the buns at the start of the night then made the dish as they went along. Steamed buns should be served hot and steaming, that is the whole point. Anyway, great ambiance and decor with a cool vibe partially making up for the higher price point.

  • 5/5 Haroun H. 4 years ago on Google
Good Food, no. EXCELLENT FOOD, YES. Our party of 3 just about tried everything on the menu. I have to say the food is preferred to perfection. Every dish is full of flavor and the detail to preparation is seen on each dish. The Scallops are like butter. Excellent sear and perfectly cooked. The Falafel was not dense and dry. Perfect amount of seasoning and flavor. Rice Noodles and Lobster, a balance of flavor and heat. The Korean BBQ w/ Crispy Rice, amazing. If you decide to go here, you will not be disappointed. Also the drinks were great and the friendly staff make feel very welcomed. Enjoy.

  • 2/5 Darryl N. 4 years ago on Google
The food is good, not great and the portions are so small and the price is high. $15 for 4 lamb meatballs, that’s crazy. The bill in total was $61 and I ordered three different items but left hungry. You would spend roughly that amount to go to a place like the Fig Tree and have a 6 course meal over a 2 hour period and the food is amazing. I wasn’t impressed, just my opinion.

  • 3/5 Derek E. 4 years ago on Google

Overall experience, food and service was good, just not great. Food was overly rich and very small portions for the price. We wanted to go here for years and were not impressed. Very limited menu for healthier options.

  • 1/5 Christy A. 4 years ago on Google
The fact they will not do separate checks is beyond unreasonable. Chain restaurants like Olive Garden or even places like Sullivan's would do this. Yet they cannot. I do not mind gratuity included in the check yet when a group adds that in to their part to pay, its horrible that the wait staff says you are short almost $40 when you paid more to make sure the whole total was paid. I would never go back again for this reason.

If you want to pay $15 for a plate that wouldn’t fill up a toddler, go for it. The food itself is good—not great. I guess this is why it’s called “Good Food” and not “Amazing Food” or something. The portions were equivalent to what your mom would put on your plate when you invited 10 more guests than you originally said. If you like tapas and throwing money down the drain and feeling fancy this place genuinely might be for you. Personally, I like to be full if I’m going to spend money.

Went for the first time on NYE, and honestly I can't say enough good things about it. Easily our new favorite restaurant in Charlotte. The food is amazing. Can't say enough about the food. Just be aware that it is tapas-style, small plates. So if that is not your thing, you might want to think twice before coming in. It is definitely pricey, but you get amazing quality and so the old "you get what you pay for" comes into play here. We will 100% return.
