Had a Hennessy tasting event. I liked the bartenders, very helpful and kind. Was a small crowd but still nice. The location is great in the heart of Uptown Charlotte by many other bars.

I love this place. One of my favorite in Uptown. They always have a great draft beer selection and a few dark options that are sure to please any beer lover. My favorite meal here is the cheese steak with fries. I honestly only get this. One of the best cheese steaks in Charlotte. Their fries are crispy and flavorful. Quality meat and cheese and fresh veggies. Always good service and a fun place to visit if you are in the French Quarter area.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem. Fun atmosphere with exceptional service. Food was very reasonably priced and delicious! Wings were crispy, meaty, and full of flavor. Cajun garlic dry rub was amazing! 12 wings were only around $16, which is a good price for wings these days. Viking burger was superb! Patty was pork and beef blend, so juicy added bacon was definitely worth it... very thick piece of smoky bacon. Even the turkey wrap was thoroughly enjoyed. Chipotle sauce was delicious! Waffle fries and tater tots were crispy and yummy! We even came back for a drink a second time because we enjoyed it so much. Just be cautious of step going up to restrooms, I tripped every time. They should put sign up, very dangerous.

Valhalla has hands down the absolute best pub food in Uptown (Sorry QCBC). The kitchen knows what they are doing and excell with the regular menu and bar experience. The specials are top tier, with John Daily and the team thinking up some of the best soups I've had in my life. Litterially, everything on the menu has been amazing. My go to favorites are the Fish and Chips, Turkey Sandwhich, and Loaded Tots. But let's be honest you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The bar team is always friendly and do their job well. It honestly sucks that they are usually so busy because they are all great to talk to, but hey it's a result of the overall all quality of Valhalla. Catey, James, and Ezra are always a joy to see and are the nicest people in and outside of Valhalla. In short, Valhalla is my go to recommendations for any new Charlottians or anyone visiting the queen city looking for a great spot in Uptown's historic Bevard Court.

We came here during the pandemic when it was at its worst. Valhalla was open and we enjoyed ourselves then. Fast forward nine months later, we were in town and decided to try it again. We sat at a table and had a multitude of servers. It seemed as it is a smaller place and they kind of all share the responsibilities with each other. We had energetic servers that were on top of us to make sure we were satisfied with everything. The food was plentiful and had a great flavor to it. The pot roast, melted in your mouth. We did love our experience that we returned for another meal again. The meal was the same as the writing above. Fresh, hot, flavorful, and great service.

Fantastic experience! James, Jack, and all the staff were on point. The entire team just kept circling inside, through the bar, along the patio checking in on all the tables, not just their own, providing prompt, efficient, and friendly service. The food was fantastic! Best fried fish I've had in a long time. Crispy golden without being greasy. If you're looking for a change of pace from the usual, go with the Lamb Burger. The goat cheese makes the burger! Had a great time at Valhalla - thanks, Team. Can't wait to come back again.

I had an incredible experience at Valhalla and I can't give it anything less than 5 stars! But what truly made this visit unforgettable was our server, Valerie. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor elevated our dining experience to a whole new level. She guided us through the menu with expertise, recommended some fantastic dishes, and made sure our drinks were always topped up. The food at Valhalla was exceptional. Each dish was a delightful explosion of flavors that left my taste buds dancing with joy. Valhalla's drink selection was equally impressive. From craft cocktails to an extensive beer list, there was something for everyone. Valerie's recommendations for pairings were spot-on and enhanced the overall dining experience. I'll be back for more delicious food, great drinks, and the warm hospitality that Valhalla and Valerie provide.

This is our favorite place in Charlotte. If we are anywhere near the area we make a side trip to Valhalla. And when we spend a weekend in Charlotte it is our first stop after checking into the hotel. Food is fantastic. I always get the lamb burger. My husband orders off the menu and has never had a bad meal. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu - both food and beer -- and can help you decide if you can't make up your mind. Place isn't fancy, and they pull a big soccer crowd, so be prepared for it to be busy if there is a game. There is a back room and outdoor seating so plenty of space. It is bigger than it looks from outside. if you want great food, at a fair price, served by friendly people this is where you want to be.

Went on July 4th, very busy, and a little loud. Food was excellent all around our table.

The service and drinks were wonderful. All the bartenders were friendly and attentive. They have specials each night, so we shared nachos. They came out within 5 minutes of ordering! They have a few tvs for sports games and a small bar and limited seating. Great location to come grab a drink and hang out in the alley.

Stopped in while on a business trip. It was a friday night and pretty busy. The atmosphere is casual, great seating inside and out. Food was absolutely phenomenal. I got the blackened shrimp in cream sauce, and when I say the the waffle fries were fabulous, its an understatement. Crispy fries with awesome flavor. 👌 I had the Spiked berry lemonaid and had to have another one immediately. The best part of our whole night was our server Melique(sorry if I butchered the spelling) They were running the whole floor and doing so immaculately. Great food, great atmosphere, great drinks, great service 15/10 will come again.

Visiting Uptown for the Pride parade with some friends. Kinda grew tired of walking around and waiting in long lines for drinks or food so we decided to visit Valhalla. No lines, we're seated right away. Friendly staff and received our drinks and food quickly. I had the Triple Grilled Cheese sandwich w/ waffle fries. There was an option to add bacon and I did that! Omg, one of the best sandwiches I've had. Could only finish one half of the sandwich but I made sure to eat all of the bacon lol

Right beside work, currently my favorite place to grab a bite while in uptown. Staff are excellent and friendly. Food is down right amazing. Damn good lamb burger. Honestly a shame though a place that's viking themed doesn't carry mead. Hot. Cold. Doesn't matter, enough mead makes you feel just right.

Feels like a pub should, with one of the best locations in the city on the corner of the French Quarter Alley. Loved going here to watch Liverpool games, where the AWESOME bartenders & servers would consistently work their tails off to keep everyone happy and well-served (all before noon). Keep it up, Valhalla!

This place is excellent, a must-stop when in the area. It gets busy but it's controlled chaos and there is a great energy in the place. Beer was cold and quality, food was quality and arrived quickly given the volume in the restaurant at the time. Kitchen was obviously clicking, we kept seeing plates of good looking food coming out pretty much non-stop. The staff are outstanding, informal and casual in their conversation but focused and professional in their execution. They sit on the fence perfectly, delivering a professional experience with a decidedly casual vibe. We were impressed at the skill-set of this service team, they are a really solid unit. Bartender was great too, juggled a full bar and scattered attention around to everybody to keep everybody engaged. All of this during a busy lunch rush. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Valhalla. Highly recommend spending an hour here, it's a great bar in a great location.

First time here, my husband was always raving about the viking burger so we finally made at lunch date here. Service was excellent. The burger was delicious, love the spices in the burger. Get the tater tots with spicy ranch for dipping. We will be back to try other things and beer. Small place so get there early for lunch. Another visit, we came after work, very busy and super loud groups of people, so not great for trying to make conversation with your table mate. The service was very attentive and food was yummy. Great pour of Guinness 🍻

👍👍 It was delicious, exceptional drinks, I expected a heated space, as it was cold. I definitely recommend wearing more then 2 layers in the Winter. Despite everything, this this is arguably the better rooftops in Charlotte. Delicious delicious drinks, decent prices, casual atmosphere, amazing times....

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
