We were seated promptly and everything smelled delicious. Portions were large so especially at breakfast with no kid meal options it is ideal to split an entree. Still the food was so delicious it was hard to stop eating! Attentive staff and face masks were well implemented.

The food is phenomenal, the ambiance friendly and my server Shae was AMAZING!!!! The fried green tomatoes were fried to perfection and juicy, the sweet tea was just right and the fried chicken was really great! They open at 6:30am and close by 3pm. Give them a try and tell them I sent you!

Nice friendly place. Fried green tomatoes were good with good sauce. Grilled chicken salad was pretty basic and what was expected.

Excellent restaurant that opens early in the morning. This restaurant provides excellent breakfast options. The eggs are excellent. They have varieties on how they did the eggs. The biscuits are good and the hash browns are good. The service is excellent, the waitress is very nice and quick. The place is clean and the seatings are comfortable. The place has an excellent atmosphere for eating out together.

Great breakfast spot. Jasmine was a great waitress, keep drinks on full, orders spot on first take off the top of her head. Food was hot, delicious and plentiful. Reasonable price for two, plenty of seating for our party of six, not a long wait time to sit, order, and eat. Definitely recommend.

Great food and service from Tonia. Had the Ribeye Steak Sandwich which was excellent. My wife ordered 3 sides...Mashed taters, pinto beans and greens. Everything tasted great

If you like grits, come here! Their grits are very creamy but not soupy; they are just perfect. I had an omelet with grits the first time, and the next time I enjoyed a grilled pork chop with two over easy eggs and the fabulous grits. I could only eat half of it! The pork chop was nicely seasoned and grilled perfectly. The staff is wonderful, and the service is excellent. On our second visit, a group of elderly veterans had gathered, and the manager came over to tell them that their meal was complimentary. Well done, Cafe South. 👏 wish I lived in the area so I could eat there more often!

Very good brunch here. We enjoyed the turkey wrap with greens, and big breakfast. Really delicious and feels healthy. Good service as well.

Love this place. We order breakfast at work from here but nothing like sitting in the place where food is super hot and fresh. I love the grits here. They are good and you don't need to add anything to them.

We've been here twice now. Once for breakfast and the other for lunch. Both times the servers were great and kind and the food was also good. I had blueberry pecan pancakes with eggs over Easy and corned beef hash the 1st time and a catfish sandwich with onion rings the 2nd time. The chicken rice soup was good as well but a lil saity.

I had the country fried steak as this is 1 of the 3 places I can find in Charlotte that serves it. I had my food delivered within 10 minutes of placing my order. Everything was great, can't beat the price for the amount of food you get either. The servers were very attentive as well.

This was my first time visiting Cafe South and I'll definitely be back. I had the open face turkey and it was delicious! My friend told me that their pancakes are amazing too.

Cafe South was our first family breakfast experience in Charlotte,NC. And what a nice meal it was, needless to say our Host Jasmine’s Hospitality was beyond exceptional. Would definitely eat here again the next time we’re in Town.

Really good southern food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Personally there biscuits and gravy was amazing. The staff is all extremely friendly and will not let your drinks be empty without offering a refill. Which I see as a huge plus with how much I drink while I eat. 10/10.

Nice little place for a good hot breakfast. We tried blue berry and pecan pancakes with eggs over easy, corned beef hash, grits that were really tasty. And a ribeye steak and eggs. Food was seasoned well and the only knocks against them was my steak wasn't trimmed so I would bite into fat.

This place doesn’t take reservations and requires everyone in your party before they sit you down. We were seated within 20 minutes of everyone in our party of 9 showed up. Visited over the weekend and This place gets busy real quick. Our server Oscar was friendly and patient. Food was very delicious and their mimosa was real strong which is a plus point. Overall service and food was great. Will plan on coming back soon. Overall 4/5 ⭐️

This is truly an old fashioned, great breakfast place. The staff is amazing and very hospitable. I walked in and the hostess said “good morning” and I said a table for one. She looked at me sideways and said, “good morning.” I, of course, responded “good morning” and she smiled. At this place, you had better say good morning. The biscuits were not sweet - just like mom used to make and the sausage gravy and the smoked sausage (yes I had both) was amazing. Eggs were perfectly cooked. I was very pleased when I finished my meal. I had a smile from ear to ear and a very full belly!!! Loved it!!!

So the problem that I’m having is I ordered two eggs scrambled with peppers and ham and they gave me one egg scrambled with peppers and ham in charged me for two. To pay $10 for one egg is not OK I will not be ordering from this establishment again when I called to complain about the one egg, she insisted on telling me it was too, but in the photo you’ll clearly see it’s one.

This was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in awhile. my son went to daycare in the area and I always wanted to stop, but never did and I was missing out! I had the scrambled eggs, sausage, and grits and everything was good. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back. Totally forgot to take a picture before I started eating.

I walked in, was seated and served immediately. The food came out fresh and very tasty. Tanya was my waitress and she kept the coffee coming with every bite. I will definitely be back for lunch or dinner to try the other offerings.

This is the kind of place that you would wish you had in your town. We are visiting our son and daughter-in-law. We're from western Tennessee. They took us out for breakfast the first morning we were here. We wanted to go back every morning. The service was excellent and very friendly. You really feel welcome when you come in. The food was excellent as well and was served very quickly. I can't wait for our next visit!

Really wonderful Southern restaurant in Charlotte! We had the chicken pita platter and a veggie pita. The grilled chicken was pretty juicy and tasted lip smacking, and so did the vegetables in the veggie pita. The server was incredibly polite and promptly helped us with all our requests. We were thoroughly impressed and look forward to be back here. Parking is available outside and I’d imagine it getting busy over the weekend. They close at 3pm every day.

Friendly, attentive staff and good food. Menu and table were sticky. Pay at the cashier after meal. I had the grilled salmon. It came with hush puppies and 2 sides. I chose grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. All were tasty and well prepared.

Cool place! The wait staff was incredibly nice and fast, and the food hit the spot. 1 star off because the chocolate milk was just milk with Hershey's syrup in it. (Maybe that's my fault for being a grown man ordering chocolate milk)

The food was fantastic! Our server was amazing! She's clearly been doing this a long time and is one of the best I have experienced in quite some time (I wish desperately I could remember her name!!) The menu is really quite large. The portions are reasonable. We were all able to finish our plates without feeling overly full. Actually, I take that back!I shared with my daughter; she's pregnant with number 2 so she can eat like an animal! The prices are Reasonable as well. For all 3 of us plus a pancake for the grand baby the total cost was under $50.

Great onion rings and beautiful servers and they also offer buffalo wings, alongside some killer hamburgs, sammich, wraps, and nice sized salads, with all the usual suspects for dressing and wings sauces. Offering curbside service and takeaway. Great floorshow by the waitstaff. 😁👌

Excellent experience with my husband. The food was good and the service was also good. They have plenty of choices on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Ate here with visting parents once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both times the staff were pleasant, kind, and hospitable. Food was hot and well seasoned without much flair; if you like "southern" food like collard greens and fried okra or biscuits and gravy for breakfast I'd recommend giving this place a go. My only complaint is the price is a bit high but prices are high everywhere so take that critique "with a grain of salt". Pun intended.

👍👍 It was delicious, exceptional drinks, I expected a heated space, as it was cold. I definitely recommend wearing more then 2 layers in the Winter. Despite everything, this this is arguably the better rooftops in Charlotte. Delicious delicious drinks, decent prices, casual atmosphere, amazing times....

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
