This was the worst experience I have ever had here. It was bad enough that I will never return. We arrived and was seated in a timely manner. The table was uncomfortable for my husband who is 6' 6" 1/2, so we asked to be moved to a booth...that never happened. We sat for at least 15 minutes before the waiter arrived to take the drink order. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita. However when I finally received a drink it was on ice and not frozen. I explained that this was not what I ordered, he said he would take it back and fix it right away, and that he was hard of hearing. After another 10 min I received a drink that looked and tasted like the drink that I received on ice was thrown into the blender with more ice. I explained this to waiter and asked for a sprite, which was another 5 to 10 min. My husband ordered an Arnold Palmer, which he asked to be refilled several times, and that never happened. We sat and watched people come in after us who were serviced before us. Now this is not my first time here and I order the same thing every time. This time my crab dip was cold and lumpy, which caused immediate indigestion. I continued to eat, as I was very hungry from working a 10 hour shift, and didn't want to ask to have it replaced, seeing as how long it took to arrive. We also ordered burgers and fries. The burger was the best, even though I couldn't eat it due to the stomach pains. The fries were soggy and cold. Just a bad experience all around. Nothing against people that are hard of hearing, but if you are a server, you should repeat that order back to ensure you have it correct. Lastly, I was still charged for the Margarita that I didn't drink.

Had a quick lunch here. Had the Jerk chicken salad. It's been awhile but actually went for a Pedi at Pro Nail just down the way. They said one half hour wait - so at the half hour point they said another ten minutes. I walked out mumbling out loud and walked down to Boardwalk Billies and ate some food which was delish!

Daniel who apparently had a drink named after him at Boardwalk Billy's, was our server. He was attentive and made great recommendations. The food came out quickly and it was tasty. Everything was well seasoned and the broccoli was fresh. I also enjoyed this sweet potato fries and the tacos. If I'm ever in town again, I'd definitely hit up boardwalk Billy's.

We were staying nearby for a conference, and we heard others speaking positively about this place. We stopped by around 6 and had no wait for a table. In fact, we had a choice of inside or outside on the water. Our server was super sweet, knew the menu well, and was comfortable giving recommendations. And she nailed it - we all loved what she suggested. You need to know they clean the shrimp in the tacos. For me, this is make or break ordering it, and I was surprised a place like this goes through the trouble to clean shrimp when so many others in a much higher price point don't. Beer Can Chicken was nicely cooked. I'm often worried about ordering roasted chicken because it is so easy to dry out in the breast meat, but that wasn't the case at all with this dish. Pulled pork sandwich was also really great. Portion is larger than some of the other area BBQ places, and the sauce was enough to coat the meat and enjoy it without being sloppy and watery.

Good atmosphere. Food had a good flavor but the flounder was thin and the breading kept falling off every time I cut a piece. The Mac and cheese was delicious and the collard greens too. The bathroom also needed to be cleaned, trash was overflowing and on the floor in the stalls.

Read the other low reviews and believe them. The service here sucks. The hostess (white girl hair up half down) and people at the bar awfully rude. The hostess brought us in and her attitude, shortness, and tone when I was talking to her was mean/unwelcoming. All she had to do was bring us to the table. The mean girl attitude wasn’t necessary. When I said gee she is talking to me like I am stupid, she decided to change her tone. Honestly it was a little too late because it was unwarranted to start with. Don the waiter was the only thing GOOD about this place. Food was even not that great. However, I could have forgotten about that if the service was better all around. I am writing this as I have came here tonight. We are disappointed that most of the service doesn’t match the beautiful outdoor scenery. First and last time visiting. I added a photo just in case someone think I am making up being here. I am a foodie and the service ruined my time here. Of course nothing will be done, but I thought I would warn people. Don’t be surprised if it doesn’t meet your expectations of quality service and good food. Sn: As leaving I saw people upset and telling the manager that they were paying for the drinks but not the food. So guess our experience wasn’t the only one bad tonight.

Food was great. Service was awesome. Loved the atmosphere. I highly recommend if you are looking for good seafood.

Really love this place for a quick (dog friendly!) lunch spot in University. Staff is always so helpful and food/drinks are great. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and split some peel and eat shrimp with a coworker; both tasted great and came out very quickly if you’re in a rush. I deducted a star for two reasons: 1. Females in my group complained about the cleanliness of their restroom 2. The outdoor patio was littered with trash and cigarette butts, making it MUCH LESS dog friendly.

5 stars, all around. It's rare that I find sports pubs that can accommodate my black pepper allergy with more than a bare salad. At Boardwalk Billy's, I was able to order buffalo chicken wrap WITH blue cheese dressing AND mac-n-cheese, AND it was ALL AH-MAZING! On behalf of those of us with food allergies, THANK YOU CHEF! And, on behalf of our table, THANK YOU SHAYLA! You provided top-notch service, accommodating our requests & schedule, with grace & ease. We appreciate you!!!

Great location. Our server, Chris, was awesome. Our food was delivered in a reasonable time and tasted good. We liked being able to bring our dog, in the front patio. The only drawback was that it was a bit messy and felt too much like a bar. We are very glad that we tried this place and would recommend others doing the same.

Stopped in for lunch. Great, friendly service. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. We especially enjoyed the view. We will be back on return trips to try other menu items.

We moved our daughter to CLT for work and wanted to stop with everyone for a family meal. This place was fantastic. Spacious, service was excellent and the food was so good. I got the 3 choice Q tray- Beer Cann Chicken, smoked wings with a chipotle sauce, and Ribs., fries and Mexican street corn salad. The ribs were my favorite, really smoky, tender, wonderful flavor. The Smokey wings were also great and would get them again. The wife got fried haddock and said it was as close to New England seafood as she has had - she is from Boston so that says a lot. Other entrees at the table were more Smokey wings with Thai chili, and spicy garlic (spicy garlic was freaking awesome), Pork BBQ sandwich ( he didn’t really like it, said it had too much fatty pieces in it. ) I guess the only thing I didn’t really like was the Mexican Steer Corn salad ( it was a cold salad- it wasn’t bad, everyone just thought it was Mexican street corn). The drinks were great- I had one of the buckets- maybe Hippie Summer- I could drink these all day- probably couldn’t walk if I did but…. Someone got the Pina Colada also very good. Service was top notch. It is also located on the Boardwalk of some lake, highly recommended to do BEFORE you eat! But it was fun and you can feed the ducks and geese. We will be back! Oh almost forgot - get the DOLE WHIP ice cream for dessert!

Went here twice on my weekend trip to Charlotte. Amazing staff and service! Waiters are incredibly nice and the wait for food is very short! I ordered the shrimp & flounder platter one day and the best cheeseburger on the boardwalk the next. Shrimp and flounder were ok, tartar sauce was good and made the fish much better. I wish the hush puppies were a bit less oniony but this was my first time having them so I’m no expert. The cheeseburger was AMAZING! I got it medium well and it was so good. Only thing that disappointed me a bit was the corn and broccoli, no seasoning and very plain. Overall I’d recommend it! Decent food and the vibes are good.

We walked in and we were immediately seated. I got a bucket drink (such a cool idea) and got the shrimp basket. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and everything tasted great. Their cocktail sauce is heavy handed on the horseradish which some people like (I don't but everyone's taste is different). That would be my only complaint but not enough to dock a star. Cool environment and everyone was friendly!

I really enjoyed my meal hear. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! The ribs tasted great! I would go back just for them. My waitress was great. And we sat next to the window at the water. We walked around outside afterwards. So the location is nice too.

Mitchell was our server. He was friendly, had a fantastic attitude, quick & efficient! Customer service doesn’t exist in this post pandemic world so to get fantastic service that was so effortless for him is amazing. You can tell he was just genuinely enjoying life. I’m thankful for people like him who still have some hospitality left to give. My kids and I come here often they enjoy sitting on the patio when the days are nice. This really is “our spot” thanks Mitchell for making it extra special today with your fantastic service. The food is always good I’ve probably had a bad experience with food once in the last 6 months. My drink today wasn’t the best but usually they are spot on. I ended up switching to a beer not sure who was behind the bar but the other cocktails were that good either. The portion size of the kids meal wasn’t the same today either. Nevertheless I come because there is usually consistency with food, drinks and service can be pretty basic most days. But hopefully Mitchell can help us moving forward!

First timer here. Everything on the menu looked good and let me just tell y’all, everything we ate there was SO GOOD! Everything had so much flavor. Honestly think this is my new favorite place to eat! Definitely check it out!

Visited this place for the first time today. I sat out on the patio with the waterfront. I don't think there was a single thing I disliked that I can recall. The food was 10/10, and the view was beautiful. I had the flounder sandwich, and it comes with two pieces of flounder on it, great flavor. Fries were as perfect as they could get. Slightly crunchy but retaining the flavor. It's hard to believe this place is in Charlotte. Randomly found it today. Food is on the higher priced side but very good.

Been living in CLT for 23 years now and Billy's is still such a vibe and the food is always good! Never skip the crab dip. It's a must!

My love and I enjoyed ourselves at this venue. The food was great and the atmosphere was fun and lively. I love the University City area.
