This place is ridiculously beautiful. Security isn't too overwhelming. I wonder how cool it is to be an art museum security guard. You get to just walk around art all day. Anyways all of the art, exhibits, and installations are extremely beautiful and thought provoking. All staff is friendly, the environment is clean, and there's lots of space! Will definitely comeback to finish my tour!

This museum is awesome! There are five floors. Floors 2-5 have galleries. Floors 3-5 have the most interesting art pieces. Most artworks have written stories explaining the origin of the piece. The fifth floor is dedicated to displaying the work of local artists. I highly recommend the Mint Museum. The only complaint I had was that they only offered $5 off parking. They didn't have a voucher for full parking validation. Parking is $3/half hour.

This is a beautiful building and great experience. There is a very nice store on the first floor with great gifts and offerings from all over. The exhibits change regularly with a wide variety of. The museum itself is located centrally to many other interesting places to visit

Amazing museum that's definitely worth a visit while in Charlotte. We spent about 2 hours here and enjoyed works by well known and lesser known artists. The art of seating exhibit was there while we were in town and gained a new appreciation for chairs. Front desk was helpful and provided great recommendations. The museum gift shop also had some fun and funky gifts to shop.

The art here is very profound and original. They have something for every audience and I happened to arrive on a free Saturday which was super cool. I would definitely recommend this museum 👌 it takes about an hour to two to explore fully depending on your pace.

Such a gorgeous museum and an enthralling experience. The exhibit on John Leslie Breck was breathtaking and I highly enjoyed learning about him. There was much to see and it really keeps you happy. Also, admission is free Wednesday nights 5-9pm.

Got stuck in Charlotte on a Friday night. I found this place while exploring the city. Cool exhibits and all different forms of art and expression. Multiple floors packed with different types of collections. Definitely a must see if you are in the area. Entry price was reasonable and there’s lots of informational placards with each exhibit!

The Upton Mint Museum is a fantastic Art Museum in a beautiful city. The museum features glass art, ceramic art, wood art, fashion art, modern art, furniture art, classic oil paintings, watercolors, impressionist paintings and more. The collections are creatively put together and hold your attention throughout the visit. I especially enjoyed the wood collection, glass collection, and the sculptures. I am not much of an admirer of modern art but, I still enjoyed the color and texture of their collection. The open atrium area contains a four-story painted glass window which beautifully fills the room with vibrant colors. It is a pleasure just to sit and enjoy the room. If you love art, come early and plan to spend the day.

It’s a lot bigger on the inside than I was expecting, very good variety of things to see, there’s something for every type of person to appreciate here! Lots of space so you won’t be on top of the other people there, too! The gift shop is also full of so many cool things!

The Mint Museum Uptown is a good place to visit in Charlotte for well-made items of art and design. It's free to visit every Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It's on the smaller side for an art museum. Even if you take your time, you can visit all the exhibits in two to three hours. Here's an excerpt from the museum's website regarding parking: Mint Museum Uptown offers $10 maximum validation to our visitors in the Levine Center for the Arts parking garage located on Brooklyn Village Avenue between Tryon and Church Streets. If using GPS, you can enter address 130 West Brooklyn Village Ave, Charlotte, NC 28202 to find the garage entrance.

Big museum with lots of amazing art. I enjoyed the contemporary art and sculptures. The chair exhibition was interesting to see and admire the handiwork. Nice to see a Dale Chihuly sculpture hanging near the entrance, too. Staff was friendly and admission was reasonably priced. It was not crowded on the Friday we went so we were able to take our time and enjoy the museum.

It's one of two exhibit locations of Mint museum in Charlotte ! The Museum in Uptown highlights more of contemporary arts and is housed in a larger space and in 4 floors. Variety of arts & displays from various artists - very impressive. EWS family gallery seems to be good but was temporarily closed ! Car parking is either on the streets - metered during weekdays or in a paid park house. You also don't want to miss the 1st & original Mint museum, still in the same location in Randolph St, portrays the ancient and medieval time arts. Very fine and very impressive collections. There's enough parking in this location.

The Mint Museum is a must see when visiting Charlotte. The price of admission gives you access to both locations of the museum, although you probably will not have time to explore everything in a day. It took me over two hours and I couldn’t get through the Uptown one. I photographed so many different exhibits and there were interactive ones with lights and scents that were fun for both adults and children.

Beautiful 5-story museum with artwork separated by mediums (glass, wood, metal, etc). The floors are very manageable and a visit will take you around 1.5hrs altogether. I would suggest going when there is also a featured exhibition open on the other side of each floor.

If you're a traveler looking for a great place to spend a few hours or even a whole day. This place is packed with incredible art from some of the world's most famous portraitists, painters, and sculptors. Plus, there are tons of cultural relics from around the world, representing different peoples and religions. You won't regret checking out all the galleries and soaking up the fantastic atmosphere. It's truly a wonderful experience!

I went on a free Wednesday yesterday and it was FANTASTIC!! There were levels of exhibits and art from old tapestries from the early 1800s to modern art. They also focused on black art, Latinx art, social justice themes, contemporary pieces and so much more. They had a bit of everything art wise and it was truly lovely. Go get your tickets for FREE every Wednesday and go check it out. You will not regret it. I spent 2 hours there, got over 4k steps in and spent a wonderful night in uptown with my partner. There’s a restaurant there as well, which I really want to try! That’s next!! That’s so you know there’s a dining option, Mariposa. I saw the menu and it’s inexpensive considering it’s at the museum. Also, all Christmas items are 50% off!! Get yourself a souvenir to add to your tree for next year at an incredible price. It will remind you of your time at the museum forever.

Our family visited yesterday and we enjoyed the Picasso Landscapes Out Of Bounds collection very much. Very manageable walk for most. We had a ticket for noon and within 30 minutes you could see the museum was filling up with visitors. My husband, teen, and I visited from South Carolina and were able to find a parking spot across the street. Remember to bring change for the meter. You don't need to purchase a ticket ahead as we waited to scan our tickets people were purchasing them last minute. There were two lines but no self-serve to scan. The staff is very friendly. Not a place for young children to run around. Note: The photos below are only a small sample of the collection at the museum and colors may vary due to lighting conditions. Nothing can replace seeing this art in person.

Amazing museum. Well paced and curated. Excellent time to spend there. To note: if you buy a ticket to one location, you can use the same fee at the other location within 2 days. If they were open at the other spot on Mondays, I’d be going there as well!

This was a nice art museum with a large variety of different styles and mediums. It's located right downtown and is only $15 to get in. You get your money's worth as you can easily spend 1-2 hours here checking out all the different exhibits. Gift shop leaves a bit to be desired, but everything else is great.

We visited Charlotte from out of state. I’ve been to several modern art museums before but this one is by far my favorite. I thought the admission price was very reasonable and everything at the museum was nice and well maintained. The special exhibit was movie and film awards. I really enjoyed it! The rest of the museum was divided by art mediums. I could’ve spent hours here (we spent about 2 hours). I also loved that we were able to exit and return later that day. We ended up getting a bite to eat and coming back. There is a restaurant attached the museum where they offer brunch and live jazz music. Their gift shop was also really nice. If we had more days on our trip I would’ve considered going to the Randolph location. Parking is included as well underneath the museum. This is a must visit even if you don’t love art!

Very cool, unique art museum! I'm usually not the biggest fan of art museums, but I thoroughly enjoyed looking at most pieces here. The chair exhibit was so interesting & different!! My friend & I had so much fun taking the quiz & drawing our chairs. It really helped immerse us into the art. It was very calm & quiet throughout on a weekday afternoon. I really enjoyed how many POC & women artists they featured. I almost wished there was w even more since they tended to have the pieces that spoke to me the most! Definitely recommend visiting here with the wide variety of pieces!

Beautiful collection of historical and contemporary art in a quiet, spacious, and tastefully curated museum. Free Wednesdays from 5-9. Bonus: located right next to the Mariposa, a five star dining establishment with delicious food.

The only art museum that has a quaint family room where plenty of art supplies are available to let our imagination go wild. They have cool stencils on salmon and how the artist applies it for her work. Kids and adults discovered how different materials are used in art, and they got inspired. 5 stars

Modern museum with a unique display. This museum has open spaces and a good variety of pieces. We went to see Picasso’s landscapes collection and it was a good experience.

Fantastic Picasso display of his landscapes. Enjoyable atmosphere and the lineup of events/displays makes us want to come back from out of state! Staff is friendly, courteous and helpful, especially Denise at Guest Services. Military has free tickets as well. Must do for art lovers visiting Charlotte!

This museum has a wide array of art with full and part time exhibits that showcase modern and traditional art. There is a craft / design section on one floor and art on the next floor. Great place to spend an afternoon!

A very nice art museum in the heart of downtown. They will partially validate parking in the adjacent underground lot (I paid $3 post-validation). Tickets are good both for this location and the other campus outside the main city area and can be redeemed for two days after purchase (inclusive).

They have a very interesting collection of art. I especially enjoy the special exhibits that come through.

Wonderful visit. Clean and easily accessible place to enjoy arts and history. It’s a well decorated and place full of vibrant history and color. The only cringe thing I found were young people who were there solely to take picture for their social media with their partners that took away from the experience. Can not blame the museum for this but be prepared to sigh when seeing them.

As a wedding planner, I cannot recommend Mint Museum Uptown enough as a venue for my couples. Sofia was so incredible easy to work with, always responsive, and very accommodating to any questions, requests, etc. that we had. The venue options are truly beautiful, and all staff (from security, to maintenance and of course the events team) are all wonderful to work with. Nothing but positive experiences here!

Found some pieces that I really enjoyed. It's a small museum and you can walk through and look at everything in about ninety minutes. Admission is $15 but you do also get entry into the other Mint museum in Charlotte within 2 days. Conveniently located and plenty of metered street parking in the area. Not a lot of people on a Tuesday.

We had visited the other Mint Museum the day before so our entrance to this one was free. Great art museum. Many amazing paintings. Very well laid out. There is a public parking garage right across the street.

This museum was recommending on YouTube as a place to see in Charlotte, NC. I went and started my tour from the 4th Floor and worked my way back down to the first. My visit was one of my top touring highlights there!

This is probably one of my favorite art museums I've been to so far! I loved it. the artwork was amazing and there was plenty to see. I want to visit the other Mint museum next time I'm in Charlotte!
