I am posting this as a mom of teenagers that like walk around by themselves. I appreciate the many different areas the park has. I enjoy walking around and seeing all the different plants, artwork, exhibits and landscaping. Whoever takes care of the plants does a wonderful job! And the variety of the various exhibits/artwork is beautiful. There is lots of seating around the park, plenty with shade. Even some rocking chairs scattered around throughout. All of the gift shops have a variety of items, they aren't all the same thing. Makes for an enjoyable experience walking around and seeing a new store to browse through. I do wish that in their app, they would clarify what restaurants/rides are closed. Two restaurants that I tried to go to were closed, although the app and Google Maps showed them as open. And a few rides that I'm excited to try have been closed each time I've visited. All in all, a nice experience, even if you are just at the park for your kids to ride the rides.

Amazing amusement park! Very clean and well kept, staff that we interacted with were all very friendly and helpful. Beautiful decorations for their winter festivities and so many fun things for kids and kids at heart! Everything was easily found and we found the app to be helpful finding locations around the park. Handicap accessible areas and restrooms available.

Best amusement park by a long shot in the area. 2 really good coasters (Fury and the Intimidator) and tons to do with the family. If you're at least somewhat local, the season pass is a great deal and I got a discount for being a veteran. All day meal pass is pretty cool too! They have a couple great places to eat (plus some generic stuff of course). My kids LOVE the water park.

Great little park, just wish there were a handful more rides. With the fast pass you can literally ride every ride multiple times. Entered the park at 10am and left at 4pm. It has some amazing rides just not a ton. Very easy to walk the entire park multiple times. They make great use of the space and the design is perfect to reach all of the rides quickly. Their food options are better than any park we have ever been to and we have been to every Florida park and Virginia park. Definitely worth the price of admission. Tip #1: if you’re arriving early (20-30 min before opening)even on a Saturday don’t bother paying for the VIP parking. There is a chic fil a here too. Need more signage for VIP parking and for exits. Three more big rides would make this park a 5 Star rating.

We just moved from Utah where we had a large and super fun amusement park that we were sad to leave. Coming here though was an absolutely pleasant experience. They have a large array of different rides, although they do cater more towards rollercoaster lovers. Their coasters are very large and very numerous. We absolutely loved their cast shows throughout the park as well. It’s a very clean and well kept park and feels safe. We got season passes and can’t wait to go back.

Definitely a fun place for the entire family! Lots of different ride options! The seasonal activities like the Great Pumpkin Fest, SCarowinds and Winter Fest are neat! I like how the park is decorated for these events! If you think you might want to go more than twice, definitely get a gold pass! The drink pass add-on is also soooo worth it!

This is a really nice amusement park. The longest line we waited in was about 15 min. The roller coasters were really fun. Unfortunately the heat wore us out and after getting to be at the water park for only about 20 min we had to get out because of storms. After waiting about another 20 min we decided to get dressed and leave, just in time for the park to open back up. But at that point we were too pooped. It was a really nice park and if we lived near by we would definitely get season passes. I highly recommend visiting this amazing place.

It houses the oldest wooden rollercoaster in the USA. Lots of fun. We went with our entire family. Lines move pretty fast. They have lots of safety procedures in place to keep everyone safe. Food was pretty good too. I recommend the gold pass ( seasonal pass) with meal plan. It was well worth it. We went during carnival. The floats and music were great! It was a huge dance party by the end of the night. The even ended with fireworks. I can not wait to go back!

We visited here in the evening. So the entrance admission fee was less than regular. It's the holiday season and pretty chilled at night. Part of the exciting rides were closed, but those roller coaster rides were open. Your teens still can have great exciting fun. For those young children, Snoopy Camp is a good area to impress them. There were also a lot singing/dancing shows to watch. Finally, there was a parade like Disney which brought a perfect end of night. Holiday lighting decorations here is one of the attractions for all visitors.... Merry Christmas and Happy holidays!!

Went for Winter Fest to celebrate New Year's Eve with family. Enjoyed the festive mood, decorations, hot cocoa, and variety of warm beverages. Riding the attractions that were open was fun!

Went for winterfest. It was chaos! Can’t tell you how many people almost hit my car trying to squeeze into parking spaces they clearly didn’t fit in. The lines were very long and we were only able to go on 3 small rides. The app with the map of the park was not very helpful. The only thing we enjoyed was meeting another nice family there and chatting with them and watching the parade. Will have to try the park during an off time.

Today and was lots of fun. North & South Carolina joined together and made carowinds πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. The water park was great and a very large area of slides & wave pools. We did the water park in the day time and came back later to do the roller coasters. Fun atmosphere and staff was nice and asked us did we need anything. Plenty of security around also. Sorry no water park photos

This was my first time here. We were on vacation and this was one of our stops. We came on a super hot day, so the water park was heavily overcrowded, and we only went in for a few minutes. The rides weren't terrible, but they could have been better. Wait times weren't great. The park says it opens at 10, but really, most of the rides don't open for another hour after that. I recommend getting the tickets that include unlimited drink refills. Plenty of places to get a refill. Lockers are expensive. I recommend getting one in the middle of the park as walking to the entrance everytime you need something is a bit tiresome. Overall, I don't regret going. Good memories with the girlfriend, and am experience with having at least once.

Awesome rides and a great place for family fun! Everything is overpriced and staff seem overwhelmed. Plan to pay $22 for a small locker (1 backpack). The park is cashless, so bring credit cards or visit one of the kiosks (in the park) that you can put cash into and use like a credit card. Also, if your child is just tall enough stop at the front of the park (on the left) and have them measured for a wristband! It makes things go smoothly when they question their height!

A wonderful experience. If your in the area for a couple days, rather get a season / gold pass rather than a day pass. It is super busy, and cues are very long! So one day is just not enough to get to all the rides and activities. Be prepared to walk around 40000 to 50000 steps for the day 🀣 Some of the restrooms were not clean, but honestly that would be my only complaint. Take note that you must have no metal studs anywhere on your swimming trunks if you plan on going to the water park. They will not let you go down some of the slides if you do have any metal on you or your clothing.

We went for Winter Fest. The park was decorated nicely and I absolutely loved the parade. There were people walking around in costumes of Christmas old. There were performances throughout the park and the times and locations were posted in several locations. We didn't ride while we were there...we just enjoyed the festivities.

We did Scarowinds. Had great time. Lines are shorter and much cooler at night. Five different haunted houses and tons of Halloween themed decorations, games and rides. Beware of the men holding chainsaws!

As Floridians used to the Orlando experience this was a fantastic time and much nicer in many ways. It didn’t have all the frills and stuff of other theme parks but stood out in sheer amounts of rides one was able to do!! Headed out having done so much over the entire park, and will definitely be back!

Went with my family during Winter Fest. We had so much fun and all the lights and Christmas trees were beautiful. So much to do and look at and all the hot chocolate you can drink. After the initial purchase all refills are free. Huge plus that the smaller coasters were operational. I love all coasters it was just a little chilly for me but plenty of people were riding so it's nice to have that option

Winterfest (New Years Eve celebration) was great! Our family had an amazing time. There were lots of people, but lines were not long for the rides that were open, and hot chocolate and cider were amazing and kept you warm. We enjoyed the rides, the food, the parade, and the live bands! (No issues, and it appeared that everyone was having a good time) We have season passes, so being able to enjoy a year-round experience is always fun for our family. You can't go wrong buying a season pass if you live in the area. Great way to end 2023!πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰

Definitely worth the $50. This park is huge! Lots has been added since I was a kid. This is easily a 2 day park. My teens really enjoyed themselves and was happy about the reasonable wait times for rides. Lots of trees for shade throughout the park. This was a good choice.. highly recommend!

Man This place is awesome ! I love roller coasters ! Great place for the family my favorite time is in the summer time during the week because it’s not that busy and you can ride rides without waiting in line for hours . The wave pool and water park is awesome to , and food is pricey so bring you some food amount of money . As far as kids tagging along I suggest you check there height before purchasing a ticket so you can get your Moneys worth .

Carowinds is a pretty good park. I’d give it a 3.5 if I could. There are a few extremely good coasters, so I do think it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area. If you like Halloween, Scarowinds is pretty cool I guess. Must-ride coasters are Fury and After Burn. Oh the information in the app is really unreliable. Whether a restaurant or ride is open or closed ir the wait times at rides. The park is very walkable and easy to get around. There are no dead ends. The theming is really quite nice in some areas. Although it’s not a huge park, it has a lot of rides. Plenty for adults and for children. The NC/SC division line is also really unique and fun. If you go on a not so busy day, wait until you get there to get a Fast Pass. You want to make sure that the rides you want to ride are a) open and b) have really long lines. When I went on October 8, a Sunday, there were some times of the day where Fury had no line at all, so I didn’t get the Fast Pass. But I do find $80 for a Fast Pass not that bad of a deal if lines are horrible. The food pass only covers the regular park food. Like meal stuff, nothing fun like Cinnabon, Icee, Auntie Annie’s, Funnel Cakes, Popcorn, Candy. Kinda sad because that is the food I look forward to at parks. It is worth it technically though if you want to eat 2+ meals (since food is absurdly expensive). I’d have preferred to just spend 40 bucks on the funner not-included foods tbh. I’d go again if they do another discounted ticket sale (I got a ticket for $30 during a promotion).

Went with my bestie, it was fun, we walked around and rode the Viper, completely shook us!🀣 not much good food choices, panda express is there but seems to be lacking. It was a good walking park though, and there was also a parade which the kids enjoyed. Not that busy when we went there which was a Sunday.

Great amusement park with a few world class coasters. Including the fury which was the best roller coaster ride ever written. I also love the intimidator as well. Both are extremely fast and smooth metal coasters.

Our favorite place to go all the years. It's so crowded when scarowinds starts. Especially Saturday. I recommend coming before 6. To find good parking spots.

Love visiting this place every Christmas! The park is huge and is beautifully decorated. They have tons of food and refreshment areas with plenty of options. The highlight of the place is the parade show in the end. A must go place in Charlotte for the holidays.

Personally I love carowinds, it’s so much fun and also, has multiple rides to enjoy for kids, adults, teens. It’s very clean, this is a very safe place to be with kind workers/people! Something I do wanna add is I would say in some rides your head hits back and fourth and it does hurt !

Came here for the first time for Winter fest. Lights were really done well. Copperhead was the best ride they had operating, very fun. Only complaints were that there was no directory of what rides are operational, causing a lot of wandering around. Food was limited as well.

We bought passes this year on the payment plan. And we added the all season dining to our gold passes which gets you 2 meals a day with 4 hours in between each meal. If you have been here before then you know the food is kinda expensive so adding the all season dining pass pays for it self after 2 meals. The water park is our favorite part of the park. The lazy river is probably our favorite. The slides are fun. Still haven't had the chance to ride them all yet. The wave pool is my son's favorite. He's always in the deep end. They have new roller coaster rides. I've ridden most of them and my kids have rode them all. They love them. So if you want to plan a fun day out with your family. Go to Carowinds. There's something for everyone. Here's some pictures from the 4th of July. The fireworks were awesome.

Fantastic Park. Very clean, and super clean restrooms (which is an oddity). I will note that the food is good all around. They have a lot of GREAT roller coasters. The Fury is wild! We have been here 2 times and have had a blast. We had a minor issue with our Fast Pass but Shane in Guest Services was awesome and took care of us. We will be back soon!

Been here last year for Christmas, it was fine experience but probably won’t be coming back. Lots of places with rides were poorly lighted or just dark. One of Skyview ride stuff were badly sick and sneezing, working on a cold, i feel truly bad for the guy, can’t believe they couldn’t provide him other place to work besides being outside. But overall it’s fun place to take your family and have some fun, see some Christmas lights.
