This is a very quiet, and quaint oasis. I recommend comfortable shoes, bug spray, and cold water! The walkways are steep and "hilly," and made of gravel, so this isn't for strollers or bikes. But the pond and the pretty flowers all around made for Beautiful backgrounds for pics! It wasn't too crowded, and it was very clean. If you like nature, you'll like this spot!

This is the most beautiful botanical garden I've ever seen. The greenhouses were full of plants I've never seen or heard of. Each greenhouse was different climate and had different kinds of plants. Made me literally want a greenhouse of my own. The garden itself smelled of roses and was huge. So many walkways through it so even if it were crowded I think it would be easy to find serenity. A definite must see if you like plants. I would love to see it again. Not to mention it's donation based so it's affordable to all!

Hands down the most beautiful campus gardens I’ve ever visited. The meticulous care for this space and all the different walking trails are over the top beautiful. It felt like walking into a magical garden in the center of a large city. A wonderful place to take a break and enjoy a peaceful nature walk.

Lovely place to spend the half of the day there. And a nice place for photo shooting. There is a lake, bridges, some Japanese monuments and wonderful trees, flowers and bushes. There you can find a storage for books. You can take one, choose a bench and enjoy reading. I really love this place. And one of advantages it's a free place, you don't need to pay. Just be sure you'll come to visit when university is working.

Absolutely beautiful place! This botanical garden is very quite, has numerous plants and a quaint oasis. This place doesn't have any entrance admission fee, not crowded at all and inside university properties and maintained by university management. You can bring your kids and this place is safe This place is not big but have the walking trails, pond and Chinese style entrance gate. Will recommend you to visit here

My husband and I used the botanical gardens for our Union ceremony and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. We would recommend the location for anyone looking for a beautiful scenery among nature for an intimate ceremony. The lily pond, the Japanese garden everything was gorgeous and other guests of the gardens was very respectful.

Was great to walk around this garden finally. Heads up if you go parking is on campus in a parking garage called East wing. It costed me around 11 dollars for a few hours. Admission to the gardens is free. It was nice but not as big as I had hoped, I am more impressed with Duke gardens back home.

Visited in October 2020. With it being fall, the weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. You can spend hours here walking the various trails. The trails are clean and well marked. A great place to enjoy nature and be alone in your thoughts. It is easily accessible via the light rail from Charlotte and it is a short walk away from the train station. This is definitely a must visit when in Charlotte.

What a beautiful place! Ed, the lead horticulturist, was welcoming and friendly, sharing some history of the gardens and some interesting plants. We went to the garden side one day and the Glen side the other. What a great place for UNC students to hang out with their laptops - so peaceful.

Super cute little nature path! Well done by the university and kept in excellent condition. Very good location for a quick walk in the woods.

Such a beautiful and well-maintained garden. Relaxing to walk through and had picnic tables (but be careful, there are also tall sprinklers above some of them). Be sure to stop in the Asian garden as well.

This place was bigger than I thought it would be. Opted to stick to the smaller side with the flowers, but will have to go back to hike around someday. Loved that so many things were labeled so you could identify the plants and flowers.

A really nice, quiet, and interesting place. The two sides of the outdoor area have their own individual sections of types of plants. Indoor similarly has a variety.

This place is a gem! There’s so much to see here. My favorite was the greenhouses with their diverse plant life from all over the world. Free parking is very limited, so be prepared to pay to park in the garage (reasonable), and walk a short distance.

This is such a good stop to make if you're in the area. The greenhouse is filled with beautiful plants and there's even some educational placards you can read. I loved the orchids and cacti. The last room just feels like you're in a jungle because you're surrounded by absolutely massive plants. The trails across the street are incredibly well maintained and the gardens are beautiful. I only had a short amount of time to wander after the greenhouse, but I'm sure I could spend an easy hour walking around everything. The parking was a little confusing by the greenhouse because it looked like a strictly handicap lot, but there are designated spaces for the gardens there.

We really enjoyed our day here. I did have a 3 and 5 year with me who refused to wear sneakers that day so I would recommend leaving the flips at home for this one. Alot of little paths throughout as well as maps in little areas to know where you are. Of course why would I have read a map, no I just let the girls hold onto them because I can navigate a little park. Well let me tell you it's a big garden lol. So check out the maps. The greenhouse across the house had so many fruit trees and exotic plants, we absolutely loved it. We brought a little picnic and had lunch at one of the benches in the garden. It really was a nice time. 10 out of 10 recomend.

Great experience. Only 5 parking spaces available close by. When you arrive you dign in at the green house. It's a beautiful spot, very well maintained and wonderful staff. Has a nice trail and placed to sit and read. I definitely got hosed down a few times while walking so be mindful of that on the trail. Great place for photos as well.

What an amazing place to visit. It's free to go through, however, they do have a donations box if you feel so inclined. It is on campus so be aware of lots of pedestrians. The plants inside the greenhouse are beautiful and intriguing. Make sure you bring your walking shoes and check out the woodland walking path. It literally transports you to another space. You'd never know that you're on campus. Do be aware that parking is a little hinky. The lot beside the greenhouse only has a couple of spots that are dedicated to the facility. I'm not sure of where else to park because I was there on a non busy day and got the lucky up front parking.

Went during the orchid event. It was smaller than expected but still fun and enjoyable. Also learned a few things on how to take care of such. It was also fun to walk through the greenhouse full of orchids.

The parking available to people just wanting to visit the botanical gardens is quite in-intuitively the "only handicapped" parking lot. There are a few specific spaces next to the building and then you have to sign in on a list with your license plate. While there are many different kinds of plants identified with signs throughout the free trails, this is not a floral garden – there are actually only a very few flowers along the walk. We definitely had a different picture in our heads than what it turned out to be.

This is a great place for a nature walk and seeing flowering plants. Only wish they had more parking. Now they do have tons of handicap parking. Almost the entire lot is handicap. Only a few spots for non-handicap. This parking lot is not just for the botanical gardens. UNCC buildings are very close by and the bus comes near there too for people to get around campus. On the weekend I was able to park down the road and walk up the hill back to the greenhouse. I have not gone inside the greenhouse yet. I go on the weekends and it is closed when i go. But looks great through the windows. There are great flowering plants on the outside (even during winter) and then you can walk across the street to the nature walk area.

The botanical Garden was very nice. It resembled more of a trail with different sections of mostly woody plants. It may be due to.the season, but a lot of the plants were dying and dried out. Overall it is great trail to hike or walk. Make sure you wear the proper attire.

The gardens are always lovely and the staff and volunteers super knowledgeable and helpful. These pics are a few years old, but I love these gardens so much, I donated money to make sure I could have my engagement photos taken there.

A beautiful place to visit with my son during our stay in NC. The students were friendly and one helpful biology student showed us some of his favorite plants. We both enjoyed the serenity and beauty of the garden and greenhouse.

Nice place. It is free too (though if You enjoy it please donate a few dollars). There are two greenhouses, many trails, flowers, trees, much more. I didn't get to snap many photos. Please enjoy this peacefull area and relax and unzind from the stress of life.

It's a lovely little garden right at the campus. The parking is limited and there's a couple steep inclines, but I highly recommend this hidden gem of beauty.

Great little trails within the garden. Just wish the sprinklers weren't in full force on a trail or two. Parking- only 5 spaces by the greenhouse.

Although the building has interesting plants, etc. and it's wheelchair friendly, the outside gardens have steps and gravel throughout.
