We took a stroll through this charming little park on the skirts of the city. One of the many reasons why we love Charlotte! There are pockets of nature throughout and not just a concrete jungle like you see in most downtown cities. We love the many parks and walking trails.

—— READ THIS PARK AREA doesn’t seem like it’s patrolled enough there are bums transients everywhere we counted eight and then we left so we didn’t stay for about 10 minutes…because they were walking around talking to us…talking to each other…talking to themselves… including washing their hair in the water fountains laying on the benches and under any shade they could find…just needs patrol we did not feel safe at all! Homeless everywhere! Needs government assistance This park could be very nice to have a family experience with modern atmosphere jungle gym waterfall!

A lovely park for the family to come and enjoy the day. There are water sprouts shooting around where the kids and adults can wet themselves to cool off the warm weather. The park allow people to play around with their family and the exercise area have nice equipment to get your workout on and get in shape. Great place to relax and enjoy with the family

First thing, beautiful park & love what they have done there. It is definitely a good place to have your family and friends to enjoy some time together. It is truly a nice park but time for some honesty. One…TOO MANY HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS around….not to be mean but in order to keep that place in a beautiful and SAFE environment…this has to happen…remove them. You have too many families with children out there for this to be happening. Two….the park itself need some sort of park security on bikes and even walking around…it would do the park some good. Three…clean up that fountain in the back….the water is dirty and clearly if there are homeless people, they have been bathing in that. The park has true potential, like date nights with live music for the city ….must do better.

It's a beautiful park with the backdrop of high-rise buildings and street parking nearby. It has a decent splash-pad, nothing special and a big ground for kids to run. As others mentioned, lots of homeless people around so you may not feel very safe if you don't come in a group. This is a shame because there were no homeless people here 5 years ago. One person bothered us where we were there but nothing too dangerous.

Was a nice mild Tuesday. No hassle to park. Conditions were good. Took some photos, quick drone shots and was on my way. Would say the officials to to do some minor cleaning; had some trash just blowing about, but otherwise it's nice.

Crime scene tape around First Ward Park following major shooting that went unreported by any media outlet early morning hours of August 1, 2023. …Everything’s great…nothing bad at all going on here…

What a great space. Beautiful scenic views of Uptown. Wide enough space for group activities and close to the interstate. Tireless kids would wear themselves out! Bring snacks and have a picnic or catch up on some reading.

Nothing special. A small park, kids can run around, small walking path around. Not too many options for kids. Unfortunately, there are lots of homeless. Scary feeling! Also, try to avoid using the public restroom located in the park. Don't know the woman's restroom, but the men's restroom is dezastruos! Homeless inside cleaning their clothes at the sink, dirty inside, smells disgusting and empty bottles (alcoholic drinks) on the floor. An interesting thing is the air quality station with a smart flower solar. Unfortunately, even this station is missing the info display with air quality results (information).

This is a great place to bring kids of all ages to play in the splash pad. They have clean restroom facilities. There are plenty of space to have a picnic & lots of trash cans located around the park. They even have a place for adults to workout. There is a decent amount of shade but there could be more.

Great place with a small walk path, lots of physical fitness equipment. Decent amount of options for kids. Near to train station if you don’t want to roam for parking. Great area for family or regular photoshoot.

Very nice urban park but there's a huge homeless issue in this city. The local government needs to help these people find housing and employment. Only because I'm from NYC I wasn't too taken aback. I was able to enjoy a nice picnic with my family

Beautiful place to walk, run, or relax. One can also explore the interesting art and structures on display. Some are permanent and others are on loan.

First Ward Park offers some lovely views of uptown, and it's a nice place to spend some time outdoors. However, I do wish the restroom facilities were cleaner; they often appear shady and unclean.

The park has an amazing architectural backdrop. There is a " work out" area and restrooms. The best part is the, " splash pad" and my granddaughter loves it. Unfortunately, after 1pm you will certainly notice the uptick in the homeless and drug addicts. For that I can only rate this a 3 star. Perhaps some added security might deter this.I would think there is an expectation of safety for the children and what they are being exposed to in a public park designed with them in mind.

Beautiful & spacious area to relax with family, play games in the field & or sit with a good book. The splash pad is now open & so much fun for the kids, or really whoever likes to enjoy a fun sprinkle on a hot day! The views of the neighboring buildings in the city are nice as well!

As soon as I drove into Charlotte google maps took me right by this park. I got out to venture and to just feel the nature of this place. Flowers were everywhere and I just found a bench and sat there to watch all the families enjoy themselves.i would definitely recommend this park...

I went for the Women's March on October 2. Three generations of women fighting for our rights. We were part of a huge, peaceful crowd of women, men, and children. The part is downtown in Charlotte NC and is surrounded by some really beautiful skyscrapers. The park was clean, had facilities, benches, and shade trees. You can leave the park and investigate downtown. We discovered a local food court and had a delicious, local cheeseboard. Parking was easy too!

Wonderful play ground. Very walkable. We were there for the Intruder Bunnies, great day. Planning on going back for a picnic.

Every time we come here is a great family time. Kids run around a lot spend the energy being active. You can also take blankets to have a picnic or just relax. There was one time like today we had great music in the background.
