It is a wonderful experience every time we visit. I hope to see the barn owls. Still have not seen them yet on next visit. But it is a great experience and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable on their birds.

Wonderful experience. We loved it. Its a bit of walk but it was good. Kids will love for sure. Gift shop has restroom and light snacks. Get your water bottle as there are no water fountains on the way. Memberships available.

A nice walk through a forested trail with about 30 enclosures of raptors and other species. We went in the morning (July) when relatively cool, but trail is shaded throughout. Easy walking trails. Good, informative signage on each species. The app gave additional good info. Info is all natural history with no info on the raptor hospital or rehab. Bathrooms and small gift shop, picnic tables by parking area. Website said to reserve/call ahead, but we did not (group of 13). Younger kids (2 - 16 y.o) went through in < 1 hour. Seniors in our group took a slower pace and about 90 minutes.

This place is magical. Nature paths. So many birds. Things you should know. Parking lot is unpaved. Most walking paths are unpaved. Price is a little high. If it was lower I’d take my kid all the time but as it is it’s just a special treat place. The Raptor Center cares for 800 birds a year!! They are really doing a good work to care for beautiful animals. This is a very special place. With little kids, it took us about an hour to walk through it all. We were lucky to be there during a bird fly by show and it was pretty cool.

Beautiful area. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Wednesdays - Saturdays they do a fly by at the landing where they bring out a bird and do a demonstration. Pretty epic! Definitely reccommend coming out - great for all ages and relatively affordable.

I had the most incredible experience at Carolina Raptor Center! The staff here is simply outstanding. They are passionate, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to the rehabilitation of injured raptors. It's awe-inspiring to witness their tireless efforts in helping these magnificent birds recover and thrive. Carolina Raptor Center plays a crucial role in the conservation of these incredible creatures, and they rely on generous donations to continue their vital work. Supporting them is not just a donation; it's an investment in the future of our environment and the well-being of these majestic birds. If you're looking for an organization that makes a real difference and has an amazing team behind it, look no further than Carolina Raptor Center. They deserve all the stars and support they can get! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My boyfriend and I just moved to Charlotte. We make it a point to show any of our visitors the raptor center and it has never disappointed. The birds of course are the main attraction but the staff members are my favorite part. They have so much love for the birds they care for and for what they do. They are extremely knowledgeable and kind and willing to answer all the question your kids (or boyfriend) can think of.

Great experience. A good knowledge trip for kids about raptors. Tickets a little expensive for what this place offers, but a great experience overall.

I LOVED visiting this place as a grade school student year after year! As an adult, the self guided tour is an amazing way to escape the world and connect with these incredible animals! Highly recommend! It sits on the Latta Nature Preserve which includes a lake, trails, and an additional raptor and outdoor recreation center!

An interesting way to spend an hour if you're in the area. It's a little sad to see them all in cages, but It's also interesting to see these beautiful birds up close, especially some of the hawks and owls I see soaring above or in my backyard. There are quite a few non native raptors as well, from Africa, Asia and South America; no idea how they made it here, but exciting to see for sure! Also a great place to bring young ornithologists so they can see these birds up close.

A good opportunity to see raptors upclose...like the Eurasian eagle owl swiveling his head in a 270 degree. He was facing us but eyes weren't until he turned his head in a fast circle. Apparently, they have a longer vertebrae. And the colorful headed vulture stretched his long wings out even tho they aren't 10 feet like the endangered condors. The cute little screech owl has to hide or it gets eaten by the bigger owls and so you might check the hidey hole at the top of the cage. And the bald eagle with one eye was making a lot of noise as it was looking at something outside of it's cage....perhaps in appreciation of having a place since he couldn't survive in the wild? Or not but they do help wild birds and you can enjoy their passion without having to do the work :).

This location is beautiful, fun, and a must-do when you’re in the Charlotte area. You walk along this serene trail then come across these amazing, beautiful birds that you just don’t normally get to see up close. All of the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about what they do. This is also a place you can visit again and again, I will be coming back.

I don't know how/why they have these wild birds in captivity, but even though it didn't seem right to have these WILD birds caged up, it was amazing to see them up close.

Very friendly, knowledgeable associates. cute souvenirs in the shop. Clean and easy path. Active birds. Some seemed sad and like they'd be happier in the wild though. My favorites included papa and the bird that carried trash around for fun.

My husband and I had more fun than our three year old. Everything is laid out nicely and the presenters were knowledgeable. It’s about a mile walk and it’s cheap enough for a easy Saturday outing that allows you to get steps in fast if nothing else. There is a play area and picnic area if you’re brining lunch as well.

Really a great place for the kids. I took my 2 & 4 year old on a Saturday at 10 and although they were opening late that day the front desk attendant made up for it. Very walkable and great place to have a packed lunch.

This an awesome adventure!! Such a beautiful trail, very educational and just fun all the way around. The birds are beautiful and it's just a great place to go! Perfect for spending a day with the family.

Nice trail outside of Charlotte with cages along the way. Each cage has a bird in it. You see a lot of nice birds but their enclosure were very small. I felt bad for them. I wish they would make the cages bigger. The trail takes about 30-45 min to complete. You can go at your own pace.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The birds are amazing and in a natural wooded setting. There are interactive experiences where staff teach about the birds. This is a great combination of education and outdoor fun.

This is truly a golden find when wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. While you're at it you learn a lot about raptor birds! Have a picnic at the tables available in the nature parking area which is wonderfully shaded.

This center was amazing . The care that they have for these birds is remarkable. In our visit there was a caretaker giving the meals to the birds and what really had me smiling and in awe was in how the birds watched in excitement for their meals. Not angry or aggressive, just excited. The trails are very well made and easy to follow as everything is roped and directed. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Hopefully we get to come back. The barn owl was our favorite.

One may not mind little expensive tickets for what this center offers for bird loving little curious minds. We loved every exhibit and specially their fun facts! They have done their +1 wherever they can in addition to as close as they could get with the nature.
