What a gem of a public park. We took my mom there on July 4th for one of her favorite things to do...have a picnic! Since it was a big summer holiday, and uber hot in Charlotte, we got there early. We had the choice of setting up at a picnic table under shade trees or under the covered shelter, both with pretty water views and close proximity to bathrooms. We chose the Shelter since it was easier for my mom to navigate with a walker. Both options are manageable for handicap patrons, with easy access from the car to the picnic areas. There are many oversized charcoal grills, which were in use while we were there. Unfortunately one user disposed of hot charcoal in the metal trashcan, which started smoking after they left. My husband noticed it and doused it with water. Geez, people...don't put hot coals in a trashcan until you are 100% sure they are not a fire hazard! Smoky the Bear is watching. Speaking of trashcans, ours were clean and empty, the bathrooms were spotless, and we saw Parks & Rec patrolling. We will definitely return to this lovely and well-maintained public space. Being here made me proud to be a Charlottean. Highly recommend!

The perfect place for a picnic. We picked up some food from Nordstrom‘s café and headed out to the nearest park. My husband found this spot. As soon as we pulled in I told my husband we got lucky! The view from our picnic table was unbeatable. Incredible! It was a bit chilly but the sun really helped. We’ll definitely be back and hopefully spend more time and maybe even have a walk. This park is an absolute must!

Cute park that needs a tiny little bit of love. Awesome paths and cute waterfront areas. I would love to see a little more shade near the playground areas and someone to pick up litter along the trails.

This is a great park. It has a very fun playground and it is great for picnics. I picked up some pizza from Dominos as had lunch with a friend while the kids were playing on the 3 different playgrounds. We also went down to the pond to take a long at the ducks. They had these big pavilions that can be used to host events and stuff. I might do something there sometime!

Wicked awesome park!! Visiting Charlotte from out of town and this park was a blessing to find. My son got to play and I got to walk on the trail.

Took my toddler here a few days ago and he had so much fun! There’s multiple playground areas, including a toddler area, which I loved because a lot of playground equipment is usually designed for older kids. It has a decent amount of shade too, considering all the trees around. There’s also a large lake and walking paths, which we’ll definitely go back and explore another day. There are bathrooms by the parking lot next to the lake.

This is wonderful park but the pond is absolutely disgusting as it is polluted from trash that was thrown in by some very low IQ individuals. The pond water seems like a mixture of your bathroom’s waste, garbage, and mud… although the ducks seemed to be having a blast diving and swimming in this sewage.

Nice big park to hang out in the evening . This has enough parking spaces , big sheds to conduct any functions , age separated kids playing area, basketball courts and on the other side this has a nice lake view trail with fountains etc . Must visit if you are near south Charlotte

This is one of the top three parts in Charlotte to me this is a must visit. I like to hear so much to do I can spend the whole day here I am mostly a loner but if I do have friends I'll most definitely be bringing them here also my family.

Beautiful park with so much more then just a playground. There is also a lake with a sidewalk around it. It's pet friendly. Plenty of parking. Pavilions for rent for birthday parties or a picnic. Lots to do and see!

It is a very nice park. It has slides, pond, sand pit/sand box and little playhouse for little kids with slides, mushroom steps and wall to climb (designed for little kids) They have picnic tables and grilling area. We enjoyed walking around the pond. The only problem I have is that the bathroom has only 1 cubicle, the toilet paper holder doesn't have cover so the toilet paper will fall on the floor if you pull it hard and most of all it doesn't have soap. Like in this time of pandemic washing hands is very important but for some reason, whoever is managing the park is not very concerned about people visiting there. They didn't put any handsoap so if anyone plans to go there, bring your own handsoap/hand sanitizer and paper towel or handtowels. For those who love Pokémon Go. The park has lots of PokéStop there. It also has a Gym where you can train and battle your Pokémon.

There for company picnic. Very clean especially the restrooms. Lake to walk around. Kids enjoyed the volleyball area even without a ball. Plenty of parking. Didn't even know this was here. Will come back again.

Brought our toddler here for the playground. Really toddler friendly. The little kid playground had lots to do and the surface was spongy rubber material. The rest of the park is really nice. Saw a family having a blast at the pavilion in front, looked like a great spot to host a family reunion or other party we will be back!

Really nice park! Plenty of space, baseball fields, disc golf and a trail circling the lake. The name of the park bothers me for some reason. Either way - great park for any occasion

It's nice. It's a really big place. We went to the playground that's at this location. My kid loves it. They have somewhat of a "ninja course" here which is what my child is always looking for at a playground whenever possible. There was a restroom here but there is only one stall with one toilet and sink in the women's bathroom and I assume the men's room couldn't be much better. There was also a nice little park with benches to sit on right next to a pond. It was nice. Cool place to take pics of you're in to that sort of thing. It was a relatively large playground too. It was nice. I would go back.

Absolutely love this place. Whenever I've been really overwhelmed with anything, I find a nice, long walk through this park helps bring me some internal peace. The lovely scenery and Greenway that connects are just wonderful and remind me how important it is to get outside and enjoy nature.

There is a cute pond to walk around but also a lot of litter, especially where Park Rd runs along the side. I love seeing turtles and all the ducks in the pond though. Nice little spot to walk dogs, have lunch or just sit and listen to the fountain. There are a few picnic pavilions as well and a jungle gym.
