Renovation was supposed to be complete Summer of 2022 but I guess COVID put a big wrench in that plan. It’s now fall of 2022 and it looks nowhere close to being complete… and I rarely see any work being done. Occasionally a new pile of dirt appears and maybe moves from one place to another. With winter coming I assume it won’t open any earlier than spring of 2023.

Fun little playground we stumbled upon just driving past it and so we stopped at it later on that day. Right in Downtown Charlotte. Newer, modern playground equipment with multiple different creative ways for your kiddos to climb and get their exercise! 😃👍

Had thought to do pictures before my son's prom there as was convenient and memory serve that it had some nice background but the entire place is being rebuilt and is nothing but red clay and construction vehicles this is beginning of May 2022.

Huge park, very walkable. You can play just about anything with the name ball in it there! Great place for a picnic.

A nice park, but with nearly no people in it. It was a bit strange to be there more or less alone. But it has some sports spots in it and wonderful places to sit and relax.

This place used to be so nice... now it's just dirt. Hopefully they follow through and put another great park here that lives up to the history. But right now it's garbage.

Independence Park (Charlotte NC) is a very nice neighborhood park. The landscaping is very well maintained. Lovely variety of plants and flowers. More people should visit it.

Remodeled Independence Park is superb! Nice looping paths, rebuilt kids play structures, wide open lawns to play or relax, pickleball and even a beach volleyball court. With tunnel access to CPCC/Mecklenburg stadium and on to the Sugar Creek Greenway.

An excellent spot for a stroll with your furry friend, get some exercise or spend time with your family. Plus, you get to enjoy a stunning view of the Charlotte skyline!.

Lots of construction so limited as what you can do. We did find a flat shady spot for lunch.

I parked there to call my phone company. A green truck pulled up and the men in the truck looked like they were showing off their promises. Ugh get a room.

Visited this park after it got re-done. Was impressed by the ball field - plenty of space to run around. Nice kids playground. Restrooms clean and new. Pro tip - park at sabor and grab some chips and guac and walk across street to eat! Plenty of picnic tables.

What a great park. The little waterfalls, the ping pong tables, the pavilion (which sometimes has shady looking people there) lots a benches, clean and kept up really well. I like coming here, hope to visit this park again soon! ( Also right across the street is Sabor!)

Great park for a stroll and a lovely view of Uptown from the south end of the park. It does have public facilities, playground and a ball field too.

I was waiting for my mom to finish her tests at Presbyterian Hospital so I went over to the park. It was pretty big lots of walking paths I believe a nice basketball amd volleyball court. It was really nice & quiet like a big neighborhood park.

The city/parks and rec just rebuilt the baseball field and it is beautiful! The are baseball organizations are lucky to have this field. All of the old, stone bleachers are still there for spectators but there's brand new fencing all around the field including a permanent home run fence. Brand new backstop, dirt and sod too! It really is beautiful. And an artist recently painted a mural on a building in right field... Amazing!!
