Be careful visiting here. We stopped for about 30 minutes to check out the walk-in camp sites on a holiday weekend. It was very busy between people fishing, walking and boating. The area is nice, but we came back to a broken car window and stolen items. Apparently this happens fairly regularly here and no cameras have been installed. I can't recommend based on this experience. Don't let someone ruin your weekend like we did, keep driving and find someplace else to go.

Very scenic and beautiful area. Has a few fishing docks and boardwalks. Concrete boat ramps, bathrooms and three parking areas.

Beautiful little place for a short walk or run. The trash cans around some of the campsites were overflowing.

Great place to take the kids fishing. They have a few docks which is specially good now during social distancing. Kids caught a few fish since they can just throw hooks in and fish are right there. Overall great spot to fish and take kids to teach them

As a native in the area. (born and raised in the area) I am not sure why; but I had never been to this “park”. That is unfortunate because this place is truly a gem. It’s not HUGE but that’s ok. It’s enough; if that makes sense. There are fishing piers (or technically they’re like bridges) to fish from, as well as 2 boat landings to drop your boat, kayak, paddle boards, etc. this park is essentially directly across the lake from McDowell park and is a little inlet of sorts, which is fantastic for paddle boarding and/kayaking. I love this place and have gone quite a few times.

One of the best boat ramps around! I wish Copperhead Island itself would be open more to walkers. It seems to be closed much of the time anymore. That is not good!

Beautiful cove, lots of parking but fills up on weekends. Launch ramp itself is EXTREMELY slippery as it does not have ridges on the surface. Watched several people slip when exiting their boats despite having shoes on. Hanging onto the boat is a must!

Beautiful place to hike, fish, and launch boats & kayaks. I fished while there and enjoyed myself. There are a couple of fishing piers near the launch ramp. I got lucky and caught a nice little slob.

It's okay if you want to put in a boat and that's it but if you are going to fish dint wast your time. Most of the time there are a ton of people on the docks with poles out and they aren't very keen on others fishing near them. They also pull up making tons of noise and use radios on the dock which scares the fish. If you are able to go on the actual island when it isn't rented out then it's fun to go around and fish off the bank however it's very sparing for the areas that you can find where fishing is good off the bank. Also it's a public access park so d9nt be surprised if people are there making noise and basically ruining the fishing for you. If you can buy a cheap fishing kayak and you can put in at this place. They have a really nice landing area with 4 ramps so the best is if you have a boat or kayak to put in it's a great place for that and has plenty of parking but for the bank fisherman this is a sub oar place to fish unless you go at off times where there aren't many people out there with you.

Only 2 bathrooms 1 boys 1 girls, far from the fishing pier. The peir needs repair where the wood has rotted. It would be nice if there were benches/ swings for the non fisherman.

4 boat ramps. Lower ramps are about as soon as it gets for Kayak / SUP using a boat ramp. Parking can fill up on a busy day. Once on the water there is plenty of room to hang out and fish on a kayak or paddleboard. Mostly slow or limited boat traffic. Decent fishing!

Beautiful area, lots of shade, fishing piers, gravel walking trails, picnic areas. Great place for get-togethers. Watch for snakes!

4 boat launches, easy parking, great place to put the boat in the water on lake Wylie. Easy to get to the main channel.

Convenient with 2 double ramps in the park. Plenty of parking. Cove is nice for chill paddles and boaters and paddlers can easily put in near each other without getting in each other’s way. Lots of fishing here. Technically, one is not supposed to be fishing next to the ramp per the parks and rec site but no one enforces that, nor is there such signage. I wish parks and rec would make that more clear and make the area aside the motorized boat ramps a more proper kayak launching beach. Fishermen have no business with fishing line and hooks being left where people and pets are walking and putting in watercraft with limited foot protection.
