Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte Uptown was significantly below average. We didn't expect much, but this place was barely the bare minimum. The rating is immensely miss leading. If you can, please pay the extra money and stay somewhere else. Don't waste your time. Starting with the good, the location is perfect. Great walking distance to spectrum center, and a lot of food. Philicia, the young lady who checked us in, was accommodating and affable. The bad is specifically with the hotel itself. Our room was horrific. Rips/holes in the carpet, dirty towels, no trash bags in the trash can, malfunctioning tv, etc. Additionally, one of the staff members, I'm not sure whom, was very rude and dismissive over the phone. There was an erroneous charge on my account that I was trying to get handled, yet the young lady cut me off multiple times during the conversation and didn't take the time to understand my issue. I asked if she could refrain from cutting me off, so I could communicate my issue, yet she persisted, and I ended the conversation.

Appalled this is considered a Hilton. Upon arrival I was greeted by friendly staff and a great lobby area but this is where the positives stopped. At first glance the room was nice but after spending any amount of time looking around I become more and more horrified at the quality and cleanliness of the room where I was supposed to be sleeping. From stained walls, carpets, peeling wallpaper, rusty drains, and crumbling tile it was hard to imagine this hotel being associated with the Hilton name. Don't even get me started on the popcorn ceilings. The location was great and the staff really were nice but the quality for the price just was lacking severely. I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

toilet was dirty upon arrival, maintenance came after 2 calls and 3 hours and tried to hand me the cleaning spray and towel, next.. via email was offered late stay til 6 for $25 so I reserved it, next day they said it was no longer available because they were filling up even after already reserved, then was over charged for the room then charged again for the same night when i called to get it corrected. As of now I'm still double charged on the non discounted rated I was supposed to receive. come on man!!! and I'm a Hilton loyalty member

There were so many things wrong with this place, but the worst would have to be the customer service. Just about every employee working at this place was rude, uninformed, and dismissive to any concerns we brought up. We were told our breakfast would be included in our room cost but then during breakfast it changed to only having $20 credit which was never applied, and we ended up paying for the full overpriced breakfast. Then when we accidentally left something in our room and called to get it back, we were treated horribly by customer service who refused to help us look for it and hung up. Their hot tub isn’t in commission so you don’t even get one of the amenities listed on the website. Don’t make the mistake of coming to his hotel the ones right next to it are likely much better options.

As stated in the previous comments, the staff and front desk were great, it was the morning of Saturday, Aug 20th that made the stay not worth it. I woke up to the ceiling leaking in the bathroom, and water was coming through the light fixture that was over the jacuzzi. The hotel did switch our rooms, but it was smaller and not as nice as the one we were in, they paid for the upgrade and one night, but we were there for a bday party, I'm happy I didn't let this ruin my trip!!!

Everyone was nice that worked there. But the building is old and unkept. The roof was leaking in 4 different spots in the lobby area in front of the checkin desk. The room is old and needs to be updated. This is not a $119 a night hotel, but more like a $69 dollar one. When we checked in we asked if there was any room service available and the clerk laughed. The microwave in the room doesn't work. The room faucet leaked all over the counter. The toilet almost overflowed, and maintenance had to come declog it. We had no toilet tissue in the room, and when we called the front desk, no one answered. My husband went down to get more tissue and no one was there at the front. About ten minutes later someone arrived and said she is the only one working nights and she had to deliver towels to a room. They are really short staffed. Our room was never cleaned, and we had to always ask for additional towels. Same trash, and same sheets, I would not stay here again.

We’ve stayed at this hotel several times. The location first appealed to us, and the people/hotel kept us coming back. It’s our second time staying with our lab puppy. The hotel is pet friendly, but you’d never know it (in a good way). Every employee we’ve encountered has been very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and clean. No one blinks when you bring in your 75 lb puppy (granted he’s well behaved in public). We were actually walking Jack when we ran into a relative of the GM. We didn’t know that, and preceded to tell her how great the hotel was. Hopefully those very honest comments made it back. We plan to come regularly now that we have a place we can easily bring our puppy that doesn’t look or smell like some places you can bring your puppy (which we’ve always avoided).

Staff is friendly. Hotel has dark parking, tight turns to park. Parking floors do not align with floor levels of hotel. Fitness center has no signage as to where they moved it (2nd floor now), and no air conditioning. There was multiple treadmills in good working order. Coffee maker in room is broken. 🤦‍♀️ Lastly, location is not near any restaurants you can walk to! It was 99 degrees last night, I was not going to walk far.

Love this hotel for its jacuzzi suites. Been coming here for years and its superb!! Clean room, professional and courteous staff, and EXTREMELY comfortable bed!😌 Unfortunately they are removing the jacuzzi tubs and replacing with Pelaton bikes🙄 Suggesting that someone would rather jump on a work out bike after a day long conference or long night out instead of relaxing in a full size jetted tub?!?🤦🏾‍♀ Worst Move Ever. Have to find another hotel with those accommodations instead of this one. Thanks for the wonderful memories Hilton Uptown Charlotte❤

Right in downtown, pay to park garage is $25 per reservation. Hotel is still under construction so there's some rerouting and what not but not horrible. Heavy smell of pot on the first couple floors, but above 4 it seemed to dissipate. Maybe it's construction smells? Glad I was up higher though. 10th floor and I can still hear traffic down below but no inside the hotel noise even though my room was right across from the elevator. Staff is super friendly.

Me & a friend booked a weeked at the Holy Garden Inn Uptown for a conference/gala event. The hotel was in the process of being renovated during our stay. We were told that our room was one of the recently renovated rooms. The first night and next morning, there was no hot water in the shower. They were the worst showers EVER! We made Felicia at the front desk aware once we realized the cold shower was not an isolated incident. She immediately called Traci who arrived in less than fifteen minutes to diagnose the problem. Felicia then called back to let me know that she would be discounting the room cost for the inconvenience. It turned out that the cold water issue stemmed from the new renovation. It was a multi-step fix, so Traci did as much as she could to make sure we could get ready for our event in time. She timed it so that the rest of the repair would be done while we were at our gala. She even left us a note, telling us she hoped we had a great time. The service was above and beyond what was expected. Both ladies turned a not very "not very pleasant" experience into one that showed us that God customer service still exists.

Good price-quality. The room was spacious and had a microwave. The breakfast is a small buffet with fresh fruit, yogurt and several warm options for $14.9.

An incredible service provided by Mrs. Gloria at the banquet. It was an enjoyable meal, she made my day, there should be more employees just like her because she made my lodgement worth it. Thank you so much!!

This was our second stay at this location. The rooms are modern, updated and accommodating and look good to the eye. During our first stay a few months ago, the water was brown. This time, the tub and bathroom sink were both clogged up and had slow leaks. Overall, this is a decent hotel with the exception of the plumbing issues. They're currently working on their waterlines so hopefully these plumbing issues get resolved soon.

The room, view, and location were great. However, Laterice B greeted us at the Check-in desk and I would completely attribute the positivity of my experience to her. First impressions are everything and her level of service is what would make me choose Hilton again for my next visit to Charlotte.

The bed mattress was completely broken and no maids were available to clean the room on the holiday. Was told no breakfast was served on Thanksgiving only to find out that breakfast was served according to one of the cooks I asked the next day. The bathroom sink nob flipped off and you had to keep popping it back down to use it smh. The worst experience I've had as a Hilton Honors member.

The hotel was clean and the staff were nice. However, the bed was very uncomfortable and there was a huge dip in the middle that cause my boyfriend and I to slide together throughout the night which made us wake up several times. In the middle of the night we heard running and noise in the hallways. When we went down for breakfast we were not aware that breakfast was not included. I would not have minded paying $30+ for breakfast if it had been higher quality than what is provided at lesser hotels for free. The attendant however was very nice and accommodating. He tried to provide us with a discount on breakfast but I had to use my points I earned for the stay as a Hilton Gold member.

This hotel is not what I expect of the Hilton brand. The hotel is very dated and old, though it is getting a renovation in 2023. Hopefully that will fix the issues I experienced. Be aware, the parking deck is shared between the Hampton Inn and the Hilton Garden Inn, directly between the two buildings. There are very few, small signs to indicate that when driving around the building and the signs inside the garage are difficult to decipher. It is very tight and narrow inside, so be careful when driving and maneuvering around. Overall, I will not be staying at this hotel again and until I see how the renovations are done, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else.

In general, we had a great stay and enjoyable time. The bed was a little hard and uncomfortable. We decided to eat breakfast at the hotel. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Our server was the best. She was so kind and helpful. Overall I give it a great experience!

The service and cleanliness of the hotel was as expected for this chain. I was pleased with the staff, food options, amenities and overall location. The construction notice we received upon entering our room was not expected, yet we did not notice any noise or inconvenience with the work being done. I will say the bathrooms are dated, but have been kept up in appearance very well. No issues with running water, toilet flush & running water were very loud through the closed door. Just a noticeable difference in the look of the room vs the bathroom - all was very clean none the less! The location was in a great spot for deliveries, walking distance to local food and corner shops. The view from our window was excellent and parking in the garage was a breeze! We were in town the same day as an at home NBA game (Friday) and an NFL home game (Sunday). The hotel is setup well for guest vs those trying to find temporary parking.

The hotel was clean and smelled like candy and fruits when we walked in. The kids especially loved that. We are so thankful for Lynne at the front desk. Our family of 12 planned a last minute trip to charlotte. The place we originally booked smelled so bad so we had to leave. Luckily we found this place. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

Small pool and not heated. The hot tub was not working either. No free breakfast here boys and also get excited about paying 25 dollars per NIGHT! to park your car. The only thing good was the view out the window with all the buildings and being able to walk to places.

Lynn at the front desk might be the kindest person in Charlotte. She was accommodating, empathetic, but absolutely a blast to talk to. If I were going to Charlotte I would definitely choose this place to catch up with her some more. Otherwise, room was good and location was perfect to attend a conference at the convention center.

Way over priced for the money you pay. Breakfast not included is a rip off $15 for four choices of food. We rented the whirlpool room the hot tub was super laud couldn't even turn it on and have a Convo, Throw romantic right out the window. Bed was wore slap out. Bathroom ceiling was beginning to cave in from a previous water leak they poorly tried to fix. I'm not above paying top dollar for anything but this was not a top dollar place to stay. Also what hotel makes you pay $25 a day and then not even guaranteed a spot to park we come in about 12:00 from being out on the town and had no where to park had to go to next door and pay another $25 to park over there for overnight $50 in one night just to park. Would definitely not recommend staying here
