Great hotel. Enjoyed My stay. Front desk wasn't extremely nice when requesting things like extra pillows or late check out. Housekeepers were extremely friendly during several interactions. Very clean hotel. Loved the hydration station. Quick elevators. Will stay again.

I worked for a decade in the service industry and I appreciate that sometimes people are having a tough time. In light of that I have never written a review like this, but the service in this hotel from every single department has been so sub par for 12 days that it feels necessary. It’s a beautiful hotel staffed by begrudging or incompetent people with a startling lack of management. The front desk seems friendly but consistently ignores or flat out refuses assistance. Covid protocol says that housekeeping comes only every four days. When they did not, we started to leave our trash and dirty towels outside the door at night. For a short stay, no problem, but by day 6 we were using hand towels to dry off after a shower. It took three hours and three phone calls before they sent clean towels. Each evening they said housekeeping was scheduled to come the next day. They did not come on the fourth day, nor day 5, 6, 7 or 8. On day 9 I asked the housekeeper outside our door if she was coming today and she said we weren’t on her list. I gave her $10 and asked if there was any way she could just change the sheets, towels and trash bags. She was the one shining light in a very dark two weeks. Food deliveries were a disaster, being sent by hotel security to the wrong lobby (there are two different hotels within the building with two separate lobbies) and once back out to a completely different hotel in a separate building. When no front desk person could locate my second delivery, I ran down to the lobby in socks to meet the lost delivery guy. The security guard stopped me to insist that shoes were required in the hotel. My key got demagged somehow when I was at the gym. The front desk clerk asked to see ID, and I explained it was in the room, at which point she asked for the address on file. The room was reserved in a block by the company booking agent, so the address was unknown to me. I was surprised when she responded with snark and refused to give me a new card until I got company management on the phone to verify it was me, because she had interacted with me half a dozen times already. I am blown away by how bad the experience was, and relieved to be checking out tomorrow. Goodbye, lovely hotel. Good riddance, AC Hotel staff.

This AC Hotel does not at all align with the brand standards of other AC Hotels. While the room was fine and the aesthetic of it matched, the cleanliness was sub par. The room was comfortable but the overall experience of staying here was not very good. To start, this building is shared with a Residence Inn and other businesses. The parking is shared. There is no valet available. Guests are forced to park on the BASEMENT LEVEL of the garage. It’s $30 per night to self park. Check in is several floors up. You’re greeted by a handful of front desk people who don’t want to be there. When I checked in, one of the girls hurriedly was referring guests to her colleague because she was in the process of clocking out. It’s fine to want to go home, but don’t make a line full of people feel like they’re troubling you. Our patronage pays your salary. Cleaning services began before 9am and you can hear everything in the hallways. These things combined were enough to make me never stay here again. I wouldn’t recommend staying here either. There are too many other options in the area.

Was here for a weeknight night stay. The man at check in was great (I wish I caught his name), he was there when I checked out and remembered me enough to follow up with some details I mentioned the day before. The room was clean (it actually smelled of disinfectant though not overpowering), the service was great. The location is convenient to everything in uptown. The gym was nice and well equipped. Parking was a bit confusing as there are multiple hotels in the large complex but we figured it out.

I've stayed here twice since September: for a concert in September and for my daughter's birthday last month. The hotel staff members were very friendly and helpful during both stays. I'm a stickler for cleanliness, so a clean room is a must for me. This hotel is clearly well maintained. The rooms are clean and comfy. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and a number of interesting attractions. I live two hours away from Charlotte and I visit often for fun- museums, concerts, etc, but I hate driving back home at night. The AC will very likely see me on a regular basis.

Before you finalize any booking, take a moment to visit ʜᴏᴛᴇʟᴅᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ It turned my almost-expensive trip into a budget-friendly escape. I want to recognize the staff and the hotel itself for a wonderful experience. After a long drive and stressful situation I felt welcome and comfortable with my service dog. The upgrade to a suite was quite a surprise and I am so grateful. At first the valet attendant was a bit rude but later helped direct me to where I needed to go. At one point I needed ice for my cooler for the next leg of my drive and a staff member in the restaurant offered to go upstairs with my cooler to fill it. So kudos to everyone. Thank you so much.

My very first time staying at this hotel. Checked in 5/26/2023 even though it rained the whole entire weekend took advantage of the bar. We met a very nice bartender named Tysha. She made a freestyle drink that we really enjoyed. The front desk crew was on point also. The room was very becoming and the view was amazing. I also loved that my name was put on the TV that really made me feel like I was at home. Thank you for the wonderful experience from you guys keep up the good work! 🫶🏾

When I visit Charlotte, AC Hotel is always my preferred hotel. Normally, I skip out on breakfast, but today felt like the perfect time to try it out. My family and I were greeted by Matt and provided us with an overview of the breakfast buffet. Buffet has a good variety of selections and freshly made waffles that can never go wrong! Matt went out of his way to ensure our breakfast experience was nothing short of great and provided us with exceptional customer service. Thanks again for the hospitality Matt!

Nice hotel. Rooms were clean, modern. The rooftop bar was nice, but got a bit crowded in the evening. It's in a great location with lots of stuff to do, right beside the Epicentre. All in all a good experience.

Great location. We were there to attend a game at the Spectrum Center-its literally right across the street; very convenient! The only issue I had was the air in our room wasn't working correctly; it was HOT! I called the front desk and they sent the maintenance man to my room. He came and said he noticed he couldn't hear the air and he he did something and it kicked on. He told me to keep it on 67 and he would be back in 10mins to check it to see if he had cooled down-he came back but unfortunately the air still wasn't putting out like it was supposed to. So at 1045pm we had to switch rooms, which was right across the hall. Still very inconvenient to have to move rooms. The maintenance man brought me two keys and said my room was all ready to go but when I went to scan the keys at the new room, the keys beeped RED SO I had to call the front desk AGAIN, I had to then wait AGAIN for more new keys to be brought to me. By then I really became irritated. I didn't complain but the new room still wasn't any better as far as it being cool, I still felt like it was warmer than what it should have been for the a/c to be on 65. I didn't complain because I had already made up my mind that was leaving at 6am and getting out of the room because I was very frustrated. Thanks to the front desk and the maintenance man for helping out as much as you could but I still wasn't satisfied/happy. I felt like I should have been accommodated for the all the inconveniences that occurred for one night. I probably wont stay here again........

A really nice experience, room was very comfy and clean. All of the staff we encountered were extremely nice, Matt at the breakfast buffet really made sure all our needs were taken of and was very friendly. Mr.Franklin at P2 lobby was very courteous and gives you a good dose of that Southern Hospitality. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Let me start by saying the location and the prestige and appearance of the hotel is great. HOWEVER, looks can be deceiving and the customer service is piss poor. I booked a stay here for my anniversary weekend and I was hoping for a great experience. I’ve visited here before as a customer of another hotel. Do yourself a favor, book a stay at the Holiday Inn. It’s easier on the pockets, same vicinity, and much better customer service. I requested new sheets to be placed on the queen beds we occupied and we were told that housekeeping was gone (3pm on a Saturday, the busiest day of a hotel’s week might I add). They gave us towel’s and wash rags on demand but there was no one to pick them up. No one came to change the trash bags and the staff seemed annoyed at me making basic requests for service. I paid $450 for two nights, I expected much more enthusiasm from the front desk. One of the ladies checked us in and did not make any eye contact and seemed uninterested in being friendly or inviting. I will say there was one older gentleman staff member who provided us water after bringing up towels, seeing as the front desk told us we had to go all the way downstairs for some while still being subjected to a dirty room. Do-It-Your-Self Hospitality is something the management here allows and it should come with a 50% reduction in the price of your stay. If it wasn’t for location, this place would get -5 stars in customer service. The Marriott brand has a solid name and this hotel is an absolute mark against their reputation. Do better, AC!

I stayed at this hotel for the Kendrick concert at the Spectrum Center. I booked it because of how close it looked on google maps, after I arrived I realized it was even closer than I thought. Literally it was right across the street. I had never been to charlotte so I did pass the entrance to the parking garage, maybe I missed a sign. The room was updated and clean. Check in was super easy I did it all on the mobile app and it told me when my room was ready then I just picked up keys. I work at a hotel and our check in process is 3x as long so I appreciated this. Kind of confusing to figure out the building but many places in walking distance for whatever you need. My only complaint is that it was hella expensive for one Tuesday night. $250 for a Tuesday night not including parking is a bit much but honestly if I went to another event at the arena I would still book here just because I didn’t have to move my car once and avoided all traffic.

Had fun talking with staff. Carlos and Rhianna are absolutely amazing and made my night. Everyone was kind and respectful to me. Even the valet, when I left the building they saw I looked confused and gave me directions. The bar has a good selection and the bartenders make amazing drinks. If you get Cat, ask her for a Manhattan !

Worst AC I have ever stayed in As a frequent traveler, I have seen a lot of hotels over the years. I tend to favor Marriott properties, as I receive benefits, as a top-tier member of its Bonvoy loyalty program. To this point, I have found Marriott’s AC properties to be pretty consistent: clean, modern and efficient. However, that has now changed, having spent a night at the AC Hotel by Marriott Charlotte City Center. This property is far below the standard one would expect of this hotel brand. My main issues were as follows: 1. Noisy room. Having been upgraded to a suite, upon arrival, I was very grateful. However, as the evening went on, that changed. The HVAC unit was extremely noisy. Even when I switched the unit off, it was still making noise! 2. Staff indifference. In the main, members of staff were unwelcoming and exuded a couldn’t-care-less attitude. While a number of them warmed up a bit, when I engaged them in conversation, the initial impression is quite off-putting. 3. Valet parking – no valet! When I went to check out in the morning there was no valet to bring our car. I texted the number given at 07:08 and received an acknowledgement. About 25 minutes later, I received a text saying there were no valets available to retrieve my car and to try again in 10 minutes! Having made contact with hotel staff, I was handed the car keys and told I’d need to retrieve the car myself. They told me it was on level P4 – that was it! I ended up having to wander around that parking level until I eventually found it. Needless to say, this was all pretty stressful, given that I needed to get to the airport to catch a flight. To add to my frustration, it was only when I raised the matter that they agreed to waive the valet parking charge of $40. More disappointingly, it will cause me to be less confident in choosing AC properties, in other cities, in the future. To my mind, this property does not meet the standard necessary and Marriott ought to consider rebranding, if it wishes to maintain confidence in its branding criteria.

Love the vibes. Amazing bartender. Clean rooms and great customer service. Only con was we specifically booked here for the rooftop bar just for it to be closed due to a private party. The rooftop bar is a selling point when booking this room (especially on a weekend in a busy city) so I feel as though it should be on the site or something prior to booking because we would’ve stayed elsewhere since we were specifically looking for a rooftop bar.

We really enjoyed our stay, with the AC Hotel Charlotte. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very professional. The rooms were clean, and the beds were super comfortable. Our view was great. Definitely would stay again when in the Charlotte area.

My experience at the Marriott was really great I can say it’s the best hotel I’ve been in since Ive been in the United States this was a really good stay the way the carry the place sand how. Lean it is anyone would want to go there it’s worth what you have to pay to get reserve one of the rooms. The welcoming there is great it make you feel at home and I have to say this was my best hotel experience. The bed was really comfortable the bathroom was big and very nice didn’t really have any problems and the customer service was really great.

Some weird marks on sheets and pillow case but sheets seemed they had been laundered. Where is the hotel provided lotion? Then returning after a very long day, room has not been cleaned. Call the front desk..."um. It's every other day"...me "ok, that's weird", then..."did you opt in for cleaning when you checked in? "...me.."no one even mentioned that. " just a very strange experience.

Great hotel. Had the truck Valet parked. Greeted by a super friendly attendant. The AC lobby is on the 5th floor. Check was easy and the staff very friendly. Room was great and well appointed. Central to everything. The AC lounge was perfect for a quick adult beverage. They also had a limited menu. Caesar salad was very good. Would stay here again.

The location and the cleanliness of this hotel get 1 star each. Stayed here for a concert at the spectrum center. This hotel is located directly across the street. There are also many other hotels located direct across the street around the spectrum center that I would try before staying here again. The rooms were clean on arrival. The check in process was chaotic. Didn’t seem like staff knew what they were doing. Our key card didn’t work on the first try. Front desk staff was not that friendly. As a titanium member I requested a late check out when I checked in and it was changed the next morning back to normal check out time of 11am. We were woken up by housekeeping at 9am banging on the door trying to come in and clean even with the do not disturb sign on our door. Parking was $30 a day for self parking which is a lot compared to other hotels. Overall if I were to come back to the area for another concert I would try some of the other hotels that are just as close to the stadium and not stay here again.

Check in was quick and easy, front desk staff was nice and professional. Stayed here for one night to see the Panthers play, also a great, central location. The reason for the three star rating: while the bathroom was clean and the bed neatly made, the rug under the coffee table had seen much better days, extremely marked up and dirty. The coffee table in the room had also not been wiped down. When we took showers this morning before the game, the water was warm, at best. The sink also did not drain very well. By the way, the parking deck for the AC Marriott was only a clearance of 6’8” - I tried to find this information prior to checking in, and the site doesn’t list it either. We had about a six inch clearance, if that - but we were fine in our slightly lifted Tundra.

Overall not my favorite hotel set up. We didn't realize when we booked, but this is a dual branded hotel tower, so the AC is only the middle floors with the Residence Inn on the upper floors. So if you're looking for a nice view, I'd skip the AC and look at their sister property upstairs. That said, I can't recommend either hotel simply due to the difficult parking garage and the horrible elevator wait times. There's only 4 elevators for the whole building- covering 2 hotels, an independent rooftop bar, and a public parking deck for Epicenter (the entertainment district this tower sits in). Staying on the 8th floor, it took us around 20 mins to get an elevator to our car around mid-day. In fact, we had to take an elevator up to get down, because everything that came down was already full of people checking out. (Another reason I'd probably recommend the Residence Inn over the AC in this tower). The room was nice, and the bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom was very dimly lit. Very difficult to do makeup in (even their dedicated makeup mirror did little to help with the lighting problem). The doors to the bathroom are sliding glass, so it's not at all soundproof (in case you're traveling with others). Overall, views were lackluster, elevators were challenging to come by and took forever to arrive, and the surrounding area left something to be desired. But the beds are comfy, the rooms are clean and updated, and there's some very delicious food in the surrounding area. If you're just looking for a crash pad in the area, this will do fine. Just try not to need your car too often. However, there's certainly better options in the area for this price point, so I'd probably look elsewhere if we were to ever come back to Charlotte.

ii was in town for a wedding and everything was nice. Check-in was a breeze and the clerk took a moment to inform me of the restaurant options that were open at the time of my arrival. The view from my room was really cool and the room was very clean. They also have an awesome rooftop bar with some amazing drinks.

  • 4/5 Karla T. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is pretty nice. The reason why I didn’t give it five stars is because the first room I got was not clean. I thought I had walked in on someone. They did rectify the situation, but with a smaller suite than I booked. The price was adjusted, but I wasn’t super happy. Then one night I went out on the balcony with friends and was treated to this view. Spectacular!!

  • 2/5 Austin D. 1 year ago on Google
The room was nice, staff pleasant. Much of the review is a out the location and the way it sits. As the sun started to set we dis not feel comfortable leaving the hotel (and received a warning from the waiter a block away). It shares an elevator with a rooftop bar that sounded like something we would like to visit, but not so much. If there is going to be a 90minute wait to be able to go upstairs, warn us at check-in so we can be prepared. After that, it is just awkward that the front desk adjoins where all the club-goers are checking in and waiting, so it makes for a wholly unpleasant experience even trying to visit the desk.

The hotel was great! Super nice room and a pretty cool bar. I was especially impressed with the service at the front desk. Terrance helped me out and was so helpful and kind. He made our stay super easy and fun.

This was a beautiful hotel, but we had some issues during our stay. The line for check-in was insane, I've never seen anything like it. It took almost 30 minutes just to get to the desk, even with both of the check-in stations open. Kim was understandably stressed, but very unhelpful and seemed unfamiliar with how to access reservations using third party sites, which led to a lot of stress on my entire group as we were scrambling to look up details and make calls for her. Once we finally confirmed that we did in fact have reservations, one of our rooms was not ready 2.5 hours after check-in, and we had to get back in the insane line. We decided to wait and let it die down, and try our luck with another staff member. Luckily this time we got Jonathan, who was a life saver. Not only did he attempt to problem solve, he comped some amenities for us and assured us he would solve our issues. Something that guests should understand is that this building is actually two hotels, and there are only four elevators serving 20+ floors of rooms. Even at midnight, the wait to get on the elevator from ground level was wrapped throughout the lobby and almost out the door. Be prepared to wait no matter the time of day, but definitely be ready to take the stairs around check-in/out times. Overall, I appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms and Jonathan's helpfulness, but we wouldn't stay here again. It's a stressful place to be.

Rooms were nice but could have been cleaner. Staff was very personable. Although sign said they have reception on Sunday.. staff said it did not. Sign in room said checkout is 12 noon but staff said signs are wrong; it's 11. Bar only had 2 sandwiches to offer to eat.. no other food. Breakfast is a fee. Residence inn is in the same building.. they offer free breakfast. I love the no carpet flooring in the rooms and the sliding glass door to bathroom. Location was perfect for Spectrum center, especially since I was traveling alone.

Did a quick one night stay at the AC Uptown Charlotte while in town for an event at the Spectrum Center. This is definitely a great location if you ever going to a game, concert or other event there. After walking out of the front door, I was at the Spectrum Center in less than two minutes. Hotel has an overall modern vibe. The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom was modern and clean as well. AC Hotel brand is quickly becoming a favorite for short, low key trips.
