I’m a Gold (45 nights) almost platinum Marriott envoy member. I just checked out the hotel and my experience was horrible. The white towels had stains on them, sheets and bed covers also had visible stains as well. The stains were faint and small in appearance but significant enough for us to notice. Upon checkin the beds were made but there was a used bar of soap in the bathroom and a bag of lays kettle cooked chips and jerky snack paper that was open. I only stay at Marriott properties and I was disturbed at my experience at this location. For close to $200/night and a 4 star hotel, it definitely did not meet the standards. Upon checkout I told the rooms inspector and front desk manager about my concern and they replied with a simple sorry. I don’t complain, I leave reviews to help other guests and send a concern to corporate so it can be addressed. Had the front desk staff decided to take more care about my issue then this review and email to corporate could have been avoided. The rooms inspector accepted the $20 I said was for housekeeping but didn’t ask for a name. Please make sure that money goes to the young lady that cleaned my room. I’m used to front desk placing it in an envelope I didn’t see her do this. Please don’t stay here. Choose another Marriott property.

I am confused about the reviews for this Marriott. Marriott South Park Charlotte has the worst customer service. Just go to the counter and meet Conner you will take your bags and leave. The hotel really looks good from the outside, but the nightmare starts at the counter. Conner shared his frustration about short staffing and his lack of experience, lack of support last night when several families were checking in including myself and my family. I am a loyal Marriott customer, but this relationship is over. The first room we checked in had a mold and mildew smell with black stuff on the air vent, the floor had a large puddle of water. Initially, we were told the hotel was full and they were trying to force us to stay in the room. After multiple calls to the front desk and Marriott online we were moved. More importantly, the hotel is not clean and fresh like the majority of Marriott's this hotel is dirty. Update 7/22/23 I saw the manager checking rooms and areas for cleanliness and I felt that was a great way to ensure guest have the Marriott true experience. In a post Covid environment you want a clean hotel. I wonder if the reviews here of 4-5 starts are left by Marriott employees. Update: 7/23/23 the reviews are most likely valid when the committed staff are on duty & at the front desk. After my experience we encountered the greatest front desk & hotel staff. As a family it felt like we were respected customers at Marriott. We did fin I have stayed at Marriotts in Texas, Louisiana, New York, California, and Maryland. 7/23/23 Update: I have to acknowledge all of the hard work and recovery experience done by the Charlotte South Park team to make our family reunion a memorable time. After management was aware of my concerns they diligently resolved each issue and for that I say Thank You Marriott Charlotte South Park.

Was very clean and hospitality was soild. If you like to shop, it's very close to many stores. Neighborhood is very established and safe as can be expected. Nice part of town. You may have to venture out to nearby restaurants other than than the hotel. All in all ,very nice property.

Attended a training here and it's the BEST ... And the Food they Catered for the training event, Absolutely 5 🌟 Delicious!! Parking was a little scarce, but I wasn't a hotel room guest. The front desk worked very well with the training coordinators, to ensure we didn't worry about parking on side of building and other areas they recommended for overflow parking. 🥰

Everything was 5/5 besides the fact that you could have heard a mouse pass gas in the hallway 10 rooms down. I unfortunately had a room across from a family with screaming little kids and their parents didn’t teach them inside voices ( not the hotels fault) but I listened to someone above me walk patches in the floor from pacing with some heeled shoes on. Also not the hotels fault. Just wish this hotel was a little bit better insulated for sound but aside from that, I really have enjoyed the stay. It’s in a great area in the middle of everything. Would definitely recommend this hotel to someone as long as you’re booking during a time where the hotel isn’t busy with guests.

The room I was given had what appeared to be blood stains in the tub, the toilet was not secured to the floor with a seal, entry doorway wood carpet strip was exposed with tacks and shredded carpet. Walls had chunks out of them, peeling paint and no where near the standards of other Marriot Hotels I have stayed at. I went right back down to the hotel desk with pictures and checked out immediately as this hotel was disgusting and no guest should ever be put in a room like this and at a ridiculous cost of $225 a night!!!! Manager emailed I would receive 5000 points and have yet to see anything on my account.

This property has been renovated recently and the rooms and interior places are pretty good. The exterior still looks about 30 years old though. Also, unfortunately, the breakfast options are really limited with only canned oatmeal and old pastries. No fresh omelets, pancakes etc. to be found. Even in the M Club, they had only had boxes scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and bacon, with minimal fruit, no oatmeal, or other healthy options. The parking was free though, which is a plus.

Stayed for business and my vehicle (along with another) was broken into. There were NO visible signage that owner is responsible for damages so I reached out to corporate and local to see if they would assist in getting my window replaced. After 2 weeks of dealing with corporate and local, claim was denied. They say signs are in the parking lot but if so, they must be very small. WARNING... if you stay here, your are risking your vehicle being broken into!!! When I filed the police report, the officer led me to believe it is a common problem. BE AWARE. Was also extremely disappointed in lack of response from both corporate and Local management!

Stayed at this hotel the weekend of 6/2 for a family reunion/birthday party. Connor was the best! Always answered any question I had and was super helpful. Ryn, Ashley and the rest of the front desk staff were always kind and ready to help. Napoleon from the events staff and his team made the event a beautiful one to remember! Beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious and clean! There was always fresh coffee and snacks/water in the lobby as well. This hotel is also connected to a shopping center with a great Mexican restaurant and French cafe for breakfast - and a 5 minute walk away from the South Park Mall for any shopping needs! More restaurants, supermarkets, Walgreens and Starbucks etc nearby which makes it easy for any deliveries as well. Amazing experience!!!!

Nice room. Quick check in. Hot water issue quickly and pleasantly resolved. M Lounge breakfast above average. Bar and restaurant closed for construction of new facility. Should be done soon.

Kelly and James were phenomenal to work with, and Connor was exceptional as they all went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. My only concern is that military discount isn't offered on weekends, otherwise I have no complaints... Great hotel and great team to work with.

The room is very nice and newly updated. The rest of the hotel is in mid-construction and because of this is lacking in amenities. I asked the front desk if they had a hot-tub and they basically laughed in my face. I also asked if their pool was heated and...again...laughed. I'm guessing they get asked this alot. The big issue I had was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. I can hear everything around me. Tapping on the ceiling, screaming in the hallways and talking in the adjacent rooms. I'm giving this place 5 stars because I know it will change and will get better. Please address tue sound proofing...that sucked.

There was a request for towels that was acknowledged, but someone dropped the ball and they never came. My second time there, but will not give them a third try.

Great location; beautiful room; and the food was awesome at the restaurant. Thank you Karina for the great service. The reason I gave 4 stars on the service is the front desk staff were not up to par. Overall is a great hotel.

Service is definitely lacking; kitchen closed at 10:30 but collateral states 11. Front desk not welcoming, very transactional. Maybe an off night, but nonetheless our experience was not great. Rooms are recently redone, but our room had an "old wet towel" smell to it that definitely interrupted a good night's sleep.

It was a great experience for two weeks stay. All kudos to Monique on the front desk. She is an asset making sure the guest are served-well. Thank you!

Beside finding a used bar of soap left behind by a previous guest in the shower and some wrappers on the floor, the hotel was very nice overall. I would definitely book at this property again.

I’d a pretty good experience at this Marriott. It’s located in the SouthPark area of Charlotte. I stayed here for a week in April. There are a total of 6 floors with a wide variety of rooms. There’s a gym with decent amount of equipment and an adjoining pool as well. Breakfast is served every morning from 6:30am-9am, and is complimentary. It’s not an extensive breakfast, but it’s okay. On Saturday night, I couldn’t find parking in the lot right outside the hotel, but I was able to find it in the adjoining parking space of another Marriott. That they provide the option to use either of the parking lots is quite convenient. The receptionists are quite polite and go out of their way to help you. The housekeeping staff visits every day and ensures your room needs are met. Overall, it’s a great Marriott that I’d love to stay at again.

This is a great facility! Clean, friendly staff, and dog friendly! What more can a guest ask for! They have a nice bar and the food is great too! I stay at hotels all the time and this is one of the nicest facilities I've been at in a long time! The bartender even brought my dog some water! The staff here is amazing!

Renovations are coming a long nicely. The rooms are nicely furnished and have very nice shower with great water pressure. Lounge was great and hotel is in a great location with a great restaurants within walking distance and a short drive to downtown too.

Rooms were very clean. Bathroom was very nice with gray and white tile on floor and shower wall. Shower space is very big. Will definitely stay there again when we return to the Charlotte area. We stayed two nights, and they cleaned our room and gave us fresh towels without us asking.

Standard beautiful room, comfortable chaise lounge to read in. No blankets ☹. Staff helpful and friendly. Barman was run off his feet, and the menu was limited, so we ate elsewhere. Despite website photos there are no balcony rooms on the property. No room service either no matter what the channel on TV says. GREAT shower, big head with additional sprayer to rinse with. I'll be back!

I need to share my past experience though some time has passed. I hosted a couple workshops at this property and it was to be my go to every time we were in Charlotte. I loved the location, coziness of hotel and our clients loved it as well. One day, I stopped hearing from the sales team. I would send them inquiries for certain dates and would get no response. This happened once, twice and the third time I decided to find a new property in the downtown area, which turned out to be nicer anyway. I hope they take better care of their repeat business these days.

Preface: Traveling with a 10 month old 😵‍💫 Lots of noise from the hallway (doors closing, very clear conversations walking by). Hot water only works on the hand sprayer of the shower but not the actual shower head? Could not touch the air. We thought it broke at one point; maintenance man came in our room with our sleeping baby at 10pm and pressed the same buttons we’d been pressing and it started working again? Comforter on bed was noticeably dingy. Overall would not return. Recommend spending $30 more dollars to stay else where.

We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels, and this is one of the cleanest, most modern, and perfectly located hotels we’ve been to in awhile. Many hotels in and around Charlotte are pretty outdated and are in need of repairs, but this one is pristine and tastefully decorated. We came back and stayed again we loved it so much!

The room was not clean, the bed and pillows were not comfortable. There was make up on the chair, you can tell it was not vacuumed. The sheets had holes in them, there were fake eyelashes on the floor. The walls were dirty. Couldn't change rooms because the hotel was fully booked. I would never stay there again.

The GOOD In a nice neighborhood Walk-able to a shopping and retail area Room was large (Club Level, floor 6), and had a spacious bathroom Decor in room was up-to-date and felt luxurious for a hotel at this level Quiet room and comfortable bed M Lounge (club lounge) was open The BAD Offerings in M Lounge were very basic. Packaged snacks. No fresh food. Dining offerings were lacking. Seemed like the “restaurant” was really just a bar/lounge. Passed on our breakfast because food didn’t look very good. Asked front desk for a bottle opener, and was directed to the bar. Was told at the bar that they didn’t have any openers to give guests. No upgrade to suite for Bonvoy Platinum.

Facilities were awesome, employees were polite and helpful, the dining area was understaffed and food took longer than it should have. The staff who were working did an awesome job dealing with customers. The food was good, management should have planned staffing needs a bit better.

Great location beautiful hotel. I think it's brand new. wonderful shower with awesome water pressure. Only complaint is they removed all the vending machines and sell snacks from the front desk at exorbitant prices! 3.50 for a chocolate bar? Come on. You don't need to do this Marriot. Really soured my experience as I was starving and had no choice

Pretty standard Marriott hotel. Rooms are updated and clean, though lack a decent amount of natural light. Titanium benefits were honored though no upgrade at this property. Service from the staff was excellent and very friendly. Onsite food and beverage is a bit underwhelming and pricey for what it is, though there are dozens of restaurants within a very short walk which helps make up for this.
