TLDR: Staff was amazing; room was dirty and infested with cockroaches. Service was great, I felt very welcomed upon entering the hotel. When I made it to my room, I noticed that the sink had a severe leak when turned on. This led to the floor flooding if left on for a few seconds causing me to immediately throw a towel on the ground. I had a great sleep, but I was greeted by a cockroach friend in the bathroom the morning I woke up. I trapped it under the trashcan and took a video of everything. On surface level, the hotel looked nice. But after staying there, I left feeling dirty. Who knows where else there are cockroaches.

Soooo this is going to be a VERY unorthodox review. The staff here is AMAZING! Literally amazing! They’re very energetic, fast, fun, and friendly. The location is perfect. A nice 3 mile loop around the city and you’ve seen it all from this hotel…. But the rooms are not clean at ALL. This hotel is our companies preferred location, hence why I stay here for either events or conferences. The past few times it’s been hit or miss, but room 512 is a “swing and miss” to put it nicely. Please see photos. Black Mold in the bathroom, Pink mold in the bathroom, molded ceiling “water leak”, cracking ceiling, hair literally stuck to ceiling (literally), lord knows what on the door, the shower faucet was literally over flowing with water like it’s been hit by a bus…. Sorry Hilton/DoubleTree for the review. I just had to be honest.

We stayed here because it was the closest hotel to the Fillmore and we were seeing a concert. We worked with Ron at the front desk, and he was very professional and helped us get into a room before our show so we could enjoy Charlotte. Room was very clean. We stayed in a king size room and the bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet so we got a good night sleep. Check out was easy. Would stay again.

The hotel was old the furniture was gross I didn’t even wanna put my bags down or sit. The carpets were stained and dirty. The toilet ran on and off all night and there was a foul smell in the room . this hotel is 10 years overdue for a remodel

Very nice hotel! The staff was nice and the rooms were clean! The only thing I recommend is upgrading the Tv's. There weren't any good shows to watch.

The check-in process was absolutely amazing and painless. Our room was extremely clean and we really enjoyed the bottled water and treats that were prepared for us. Was great to have a hair dryer and a Keurig with coffee pods in the room. Oh and a refrigerator is a must! But I will say do your check in before you enter that parking garage! You must have your room key in order to proceed past the drop gate!

This location is prime! It's really close to the entertainment venues, has front door access to the light rail system and is really nice inside the structure. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the rooms are spacious and modern to add to the experience. As with most Hilton properties this location has everything you need or expect from a DoubleTree and a destination lodging location. Parking is located next door in a garage, the only drawback is there is not connection within the building, you have to walk outside to get back and forth. Otherwise, a top lodging recommendation for this area! Enjoy your stay.

Nice location. Right in middle of downtown less than 5 minutes away from everything. This was an emergency stay and the front desk didn’t have any of the sanitary products you would need nor did they have any cookies. Its the DOUBLETREE! Not to mention the rooms were not clean at all and the toilet barely worked.

I travel to Charlotte every few months to take my daughter to the doctor. I have a lot of items for my daughter and as a single mom, I am sure I overpack just to make sure I do not forget anything. Linda and Dina are gems!!!! They not just helped me, but gave me so much inspiration. While I must be honest and say there are things that could be upgraded and/or fixed at this hotel, the customer service over-rode any of that because there personalities and just willingness to go above and beyond was beautiful! Thank you ladies!! Thanks!

Clean and comfortable. Staff is so nice it’s ridiculous! They give you a warm cookie upon check in. Ate at the restaurant twice, the first night my steak dinner was good but broccolini was overly salty and I couldn’t eat it. (Health reasons) Second night had probably the best burger I’ve had in years… very good! Great views from my room. Great location for the conference I was attending at Johnson and Wales. Was able to walk out my door and it was a one minute walk to where I had to be. Would definitely be back.

Hotel is old and needs an update. Some floors you can tell were smoking floors in years past. I was put in a room with a dirty tub that wouldn't drain and found a cockroach when I unfolded my towel. I called the front desk and Linda (I think this is her name she was working the PM shift the nights I was there) promptly assigned me to a new room and had my key to my room within minutes. The next room was better and seemed more clean. Linda was an absolute angel throughout my stay and was so friendly. She was personable each time I saw her and made recommendations when asked. Wouldn't stay here again though, for the brand and price this hotel was old and dirty. Plus, there's really no common areas to sit which was really inconvenient at times

Stayed here because it was the only hotel we could find along our route that did not allow pets (we suffer from allergies). Would definitely stay again. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was a pleasant place to stay.

Nice hotel, I think it is in the downtown Charlotte area. Nevertheless, the hotel is in prime location, beautifully located next to a college campus and a quaint neighborhood. I visited in the fall, the view of local landscape is something for all to see. Vibrant colors and beautiful architecture all around. The weather was perfect for a nice stroll through the campus, which included a stop at the local Starbucks, and the adjoining neighborhood. I was delighted in there's so much to see, including the Carolina Panthers Stadium 🏟, which is not very far. If you are looking for a new place to fall in love with..., Gotta visit NC in the fall.

Got there and tried to use digital key. Tried and tried and finally went to front desk. They said they had not turned the system on so you thought your key would work but it wouldn’t. Gave me regular keys. TV volume would not go below 75 in the room . It blast you out of the room. Called front desk, going on 45 minutes to fix. I brought a friend that doesn’t travel and I told her how easy it is. Just a bummer from Hilton.

Cockroaches...and not the small kind, but the massive flying kind (See sample image below). Can't blame them, the carpet was smelly and dirty, just how they like it. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, and the view was nice. Edit: I followed up and management informed me they are working to remedy this issue. I will definately return. 🙂

We enjoyed our stay here last week. Staff were very friendly. Parking was very close by and secure. Fitness area had working machines and even though we didn't use it, the pool looked very clean and inviting. Would stay again if ever in the area.

We live in Charlotte but wanted to stay Uptown for the Eagles Concert (our 10th anniversary). From check-in to check out it was a 5 star experience! The staff was extremely professional but with that extra special dash of southern hospitality! They went out of their way to help us with directions and how to get free transportation to the Spectrum Arena. They were amazing and It was an incredible experience! A special shout out to their maintenance man, Anthony Sturgis, we had issues with the TV when we got to our room. He pressed a few buttons and made it work but I was still concerned because my husband can’t sleep w/o the TV on so he said he would go get us a new one. We declined and everything worked fine but WHO DOES THAT??? Apparently, Anthony does! From now on, I will recommend this hotel to all of my friends, family and out of town clients. I was that impressed! Liz Carter-Parrish

Needs a refurbishment. We stayed with a group and a few of us had problems with the temperature in the rooms. I don't mind the room not being super warm but the unit in my room would blast absolutely freezing air (during cool Fall weather) unless I set the thermostat to a ridiculous 75 or above. If you set the thermostat to a normal temperature it would end up freezing. There are other old reviews complaining of similar problems so it seems to be a recurring issue here.

Went here for a show at the Fillmore. About 7 minute scooter ride. Comfortable stay. The shower was definitely on point! The restaurant in the lobby was also great. The only thing I can't say something good about was the parking garage. Otherwise, great hotel. One tip, Charlotte has a 10:00 pm curfew on it's scooters. Had to take a peaceful walk home through the cemetery. I enjoyed it anyways.

Before arrival an employee at the hotel had checked in our reservation and then checked it out. Once I arrived my reservation no longer existed because of this. The hotel manager assisted in getting a new reservation made and assured the error would be corrected. I was then charged for both reservations anyways, getting the hotel to work with me on a refund for this was an absolute nightmare. There was also no hot water in the room. I'd recommend looking elsewhere just for the absolute nightmare experience it was working with the hotel on their errors.

The hotel is very clean and they give delicious cookies upon arrival! The only issue is that all of the channels on the TV don't work and you can't plug in a fire stick because of how the TV is mounted. The AC in the room also did not work well. But the service was great and the bed was comfy.

The stay that me and my friend had at this Double Tree Hotel was pretty good for the most part. It was hard to navigate around the area from this spot at first, but after the first time, it became easy to do so. The room, itself, was very clean and comfortable. Our only other complaint would be that when we left the elevator of the hotel was shut down for some reason when we were heading out and we had to take the stairs when I had an incredibly heavy suitcase to carry around with me. Other than those two minor gripes, our stay here was good and we will probably be back again soon.

I had a serious headache shortly after I got to my room, I left to go to dinner and my lightened a bit. I came back and went to bed. The next morning I woke up with a serious headache again. As I was getting ready for my meeting I noticed a kind of urine smell, which I determined was mildew from my air unit. I told the guy working the desk downstairs about the mildewand that i am allergic to mold, and I also told him that I wanted to change rooms. He said " we are booked up tonight, but tell the girl that comes in the afternoon and she can try to get you switched. " I had no option but to endure the room for another night. When I checked out he didn't ask me how was my stay or anything like that, so I could not tell him how miserable my stay was.

Forgot to give parking pass when first arrived. Things happen, I understand. Rooms were old and small tv but decent. ac/heat is really loud all day, toilet ran all night. Asked for a late check out as a diamond and they said no. Food/drinks were good. I can only describe as just ok, nothing impressive for 180/200 a night. I’m waiting for my bill and will update if there are any issues there.

One of the worst experiences with Hilton I've ever had. To start with only reason I came to Charlotte was for the Panthers vs 49ers game that didn't start until 4pm. Since I was traveling all the way from Tampa I asked the lady if I could have an early check in. She said no problem I could check in anytime after 9am. When I got here to check in at 1045am the individual working the desk was extremely rude and said he didn't care what the lady I spoke to said that they don't do early check-ins. Since the game didn't start until 4pm and I had made plans based on what I was previously told by the original lady who made my reservation to chill in the hotel for a few hours I asked the man what I was supposed to do until 4pm with a wife and baby that needed somewhere to stay. He told me it wasn't his problem and I couldn't check in until 3pm. On top of all that after spending multiple hrs in my car then attending the game when we were finally able to check In after parking in the parking garage there are no ramps for the stroller my baby was in. This was by far the worst experience of a Hilton stay and I will not recommend anyone stays at this location. Having stayed in Hilton many times I know they're better than this.

Nice and helpful employees. Air conditioner didn't work (intermittently and half didn't blow) so we were transferred to another room, no complaints besides that we had to go purchase a dock since no usb ports for charging were available. We are not from this area so we did not know in advance we would have to pay for parking separately.. just think that should be something guest should be made aware of.

This hotel is in a good location and the parking garage is convenient.. however, the rest of the hotel was not that impressive. The room we stayed in reeked of cigarette smoke and the air conditioning unit did very little to combat the Charlotte summer heat. I will not stay here again. I will leave a separate review for the restaurant... which was in no way any better. This is the second Hilton I have been to in the last month that has been disappointing. The staff members of the hotel itself were very pleasant.. all other aspects of the experience were not.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The room was very clean. The pool was great. Staff was accommodating. Easy access in/out of hotel. Close to everything in Charlotte we needed to go to either by walking or short driving times. The grounds are shared with Johnson and Wales and absolutely gorgeous.

My stay was disappointing. There was some type of plumbing issue and the hallway carpets were soaked and so there were these fans the whole time just blowing questionable air every time you walk by. Then the room had the worst ventilation no open windows no fan. I slept horribly. The food was extremely overpriced at Libations. They charge $17 for a burger! The only good thing was the staff. The staff was very kind that checked me in, it was an African-American lady she was super nice. The pool was nice too.

I have reasonable hotel standards, but slow draining tubs and broken air conditioners just irritate me at a place that should be this nice. These massive hotel corporations are great at keeping up appearances and providing mediocre service veiled by paint and bedspreads. If the location were different, I'd say this is over-priced. Given its location I'll give it a pass, but this could ultimately be summed-up as a stereotypical over-priced cookie cutter interstate-side shoebox hotel. Perfect to get a good night's rest and get on with your life. I don't want a refund or any reciprocation. My only ask is that they fix the A/C and treat their employees fairly. Staff deserve fair treatment and enough help too. I have deep respect for hospitality and customer facing workers.
