Some staff are wonderful but the main problem I had was with the gm Annie she avoid guests complaints and when she do speak to you she try to belittle you and talk to you as a child and for some reason she love saying that she smarter than that whatever that means. I also believe that she overprice people when booking and pocket the money for her self. I do believe that Hyatt needs to do better on who they choose to represent them on running They hotels because if they have any one like Annie representing them they going to lose a lot of business. The only good thing I can say is breakfast is amazing the omelette guy was very well mannered and the omelette was delicious the kitchen manager made sure the food never ran out and she was so sweet. the shuttle driver made the ride easier due to me getting car sick when I ride with others that the only good thing I got out of my visit.

The check in experience was fine and the front desk personnel was very respectful. Around midnight, a cockroach was found in the bed when I went to lay down. I moved the bed back and saw how dirty it was behind the bed. I called the front desk and they said there wasn’t anything they can do about it until morning but they notified everyone involved. I went to the kitchen area to grab something and noticed 5 small cockroaches around the small refrigerator. I knew I could not sleep there. I looked for something to wipe the floor with in a drawer and found the previous guests old socks. So I booked another nearby hotel because the hotel was full to capacity. As I checked out, I was told that my number was given to the manager and they would call. However the front desk person also informed that they probably won’t call you so keep calling until you get reach “Pebbles or the other manager”. That blew my mind. Overall, just becareful when you stay. The room didn’t initially appear dirty but always check or you will find yourself trying to sleep and a cockroach starts to crawl on you.

First and last visit in Charlotte. Traffic here is crazy. Use booking and when I got here they want additional 100 deposit. Front desk so so it's no hospitality. 5 floors, 1 elevator, 1 entrance which means parking was full fast, hallways are dark, stains on floor, chip paint, door signs fall off. The room is a great design but not clean and need to be updated. Room 214 shower pressure was very very very horrible 5 holes. Took 10 minutes just to get fully wet! We had 4 rooms every room the remote in the sitting area did not work. The breakfast was decent, but ants crawling all over the table. No one was cleaning the tables after use. Don't try to check in early. Check out is out 11. The hotel industry....

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. A friend and I stayed in 2 separate rooms in February. We were very impressed with the rooms! They were clean, welcoming, comfortable and were supplied with everything you could possibly need during your stay. Tricie was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming while helping us check in at the front desk. I would highly recommend staying here. They offer a continental breakfast but we did not attend. The only negative thing I could say, is the ice machine broke in the middle of our stay.

Most disgusting hotel we have ever stayed at. Our room had buckled floor planks from previous water damage and food and dirt between them that should have been vacuumed up. Room was on the first floor and it smelled like marijuana throughout the lobby and halls. The bathroom off the lobby was filthy. The entire hotel was just dirty. I can handle a bit of run down appearance but not filth. If we hadn’t arrived so late we would have left and went to another hotel. This is the first hotel in many many years I felt the need to check for bed bugs. The breakfast area wasn’t what we were told there was no omelette station. No one was there attending the food area, they were outside smoking. Tables were dirty. Noisy hotel. Large cracks between door and hall. Just didn’t feel comfortably safe. Stay somewhere else.

The worst hotel from a world renowned brand. I stayed there for 5 days. The moment I parked my car and started walking I could see broken or damaged ceilings of the outside. The carpets were full of stained and dirty. The lobby was mostly not lit and looked dingy. One elevator was broken and the other one made creepy sound that can be heard or seen in scary movies. The restaurant or bar was rarely opened. The TV was probably from early 2000s. If you needed anything, I was asked to let the management know 24 hrs in advance. Who would do that? :( I lost my faith in Hyatt brand after this. This facility was very poorly managed.

Hyatt House Charlotte Airport S Tryon is extremely dated and doesn't smell or look clean upon entry to the lobby and guest room. This is the 1st Hyatt I've visited that I felt compelled to write a negative review. I tried breakfast this morning but the eggs were overcooked with brown showing they were cooked too long. Honestly because the hotel didn't appear clean and sanitized, I had no desire to eat there. Positives: Close proximity to airport and my family. Front desk staff friendly and accommodating. In my opinion, this hotel is due for a COMPLETE remodel.

We were blown away by how dirty and dingy this hotel was, especially at $100+/night. I've stayed at many Hyatts and this was by far the worst overall hotel from a major chain. Major chains being Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, etc. The entire hotel looked like it was falling apart. I felt like I was in the hood when I entered. The elevator was barely functioning. The worst thing was probably the free breakfast which was disgusting. I ended up eating cereal because I knew the cereal was in a box and was therefore clean. The nasty guests who were staying there had constantly touched the food in the line, including the yogurt. The room also needed some major TLC. The microwave wasn't working. The fridge was leaking water. The only remotely decent thing was the TV because it had HBO. That's it!

I stayed for a total of 3 nights and was pleased with my stay. The only reason why I gave 4 out of 5 was because I saw 1 roach in my room on my second day. (Mind you I keep my space very clean and organized) Aside from that, the room itself had a very nice layout and was mostly clean (aside from deep stains in the floors). The bed was very comfy and the location was great for using public transport! Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was decent for being free. :)

This hotel is an older facility and undergoing renovations but our room was spacious and clean. Although it's located near the airport it's not in the a real nice part of town. Our room was very convenient with a large TV, living room, a true king size bed separate bedroom, full bathroom, and kitchenette. We thoroughly enjoyed the space and rooms. The pool is outdoors and was not available for use because it rained daily. There's free parking, a small gym, bar, and breakfast included amenities. The only reason I wouldn't stay here again is because I would like to stay at a facility with an indoor pool and in a nicer area.

Breakfast was good! Check in was smooth! Heat didn’t work in the lobby area. Asked for extra pillows, the man said they didn’t have any in the back. He didn’t even check. I mean it was 2am so he probably didn’t want to check. Next morning, asked for a wash cloth. They said they didn’t have any clean.

Let me preface this review by saying the front desk, kitchen, and maintenance staff get a 10/10. They were ALL very friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping… Not so much, but I’ll circle back around to this in a bit. Now onto the room. It was great, in my honest opinion. Spacious enough for me and my children, clean, and well-kept for a hotel in this area. My first bone to pick with it, however, and what I didn’t love was the fact neither of the phones worked, meaning every time I needed something housekeeping related, I HAD to travel downstairs to place a request with the front desk. A few times they were able to help me directly, the other few were said to be passed to the housekeeping staff in which they did not fulfill, so I had to go back downstairs again to ask a second time. Speaking of housekeeping… Worst staff I’ve ever come across. I was there for A WEEK and they came to my room ONCE, took the towels (which they did not replace and I had to go downstairs to request new ones), and put the mug and spoon I used when making coffee that morning into the dishwasher. They did not change sheets, empty the trash, or replenish anything that was used. They also made it a habit to argue with each other quite loudly in the hallways or gossip about other hotel guests in Spanish. Unluckily for them, Spanish was my first language, so I could very clearly understand what they were saying. It’s rude and unprofessional, to say the least. My other bone to pick was the unsatisfactory amenities. The pool was said to be ready and just awaiting yearly inspection, yet when my children and I ventured out there, it was so dirty. There were leaves and BEER CANS in the deep end, a bottle of Fireball strewn near one of the tables, and overall just looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. I mean, my daughter found TWO LIVE worms in the water. The chlorine levels were not where they should’ve been either. We stayed for half hour before going back upstairs and never went back to the pool again. Also the outside area near the fireplace could’ve been cleaner. The parking situation was another beast in and of itself, but that’s out of their control. Overall, 3/5 stars. Definitely not my first choice next time, but also not the worst. If they fix up a few things, future guests should have a way better experience.

I enjoyed my stay at Hyatt House. The guest service was friendly, staff friendly, rooms were homey and breakfast was ok. When I checked in I wasn't informed of the free dinner tasting or the shuttle runs by the lady host but she was relieved of her position shortly after my arrival. I also spoke with the manager about the monthly rate, he said they were sold out until June but they are advertising available rooms that let you book online throughout the entire month when he said they were booked. Maybe he was misinformed... I'm going to contact him and get clarity. Overall, It was a great stay and I would recommend

This hotel is in a….less desirable area of Charolette. It also is a weekend party hotel, which is great if you’re having a weekend party, less great if you’re in town for business over the weekend and enjoy sleeping. First clue - abandoned cars in the parking lot. Second clue - all of the elevators were out of service for three of the four nights of my stay. Third clue - I had to get my key replaced frequently because it stopped working. Come back to hotel, climb 4 flights of stairs, insert key, walk back down four flights off stairs, walk to front desk, wait with several other guests, get key replaced, walk back up fou flights of stairs…key still doesn’t work. Repeat above. The breakfast - eggs are terrible, bacon is served in a bowl full of bacon grease, pancakes are hokey pucks. I wasn’t brave enough to hazard trying the omelette. No key card access to get back into the hotel if you go out to the pool/patio, so you have to walk back around to the front of the hotel. Sometimes the staff ties a trash bag around the push bar so the door stays open and you can get back in. Sometimes they don’t. I won’t stay here again.

Wow. The folks who work here are so nice, accommodating, and wonderful. A lady was making omelets at breakfast! Now the corridor on level two totally reeked of weed but honestly, we smell it everywhere we travel! Some cosmetic issues but they had lots of men there working on things. Super awesome man (Jimmy) drove us to the airport! Thanks Hyatt. :)

Where to start…called before I booked the room to ensure they had a shuttle service for the airport as I was only staying one night since I got bumped from my flight. Just wanted a place to put my head for a little while and honestly felt unsafe the entire stay. Within five minutes of entering my room I went to turn on a lamp and the shade fell (picture attached) and broke the light bulb which shattered everywhere. I went to the front desk and made sure I wasn’t going to be charged for this as the lamp already appeared to be glued back together in some fashion. I had to ask for a broom to clean up the broken light, front desk didn’t even offer any type of clean up. As I was walking back the room service cart had a vacuum that I borrowed and used. I should have packed up and left at that point but decided since it was only for a few hours I could press. The ac unit wouldn’t stop running and I ended up unplugging them at one point. I then checked my bedroom and noticed the damage paint within the room, also throughout the “living room area”, then checked the bed for any creatures and discovered the small dark stain on the blanket (picture attached). I assume it was bbq sauce based on the darkness of the color, didn’t want to find out either way. The laminated floor was pretty tore up as well. Most of the outlets were so warn that a standard usb wall charger wouldn’t stay in. The lamp outlets didn’t work at all. The usb port on the clock that was in the room didn’t work. I went to set a wake up call and my phone in my room wasn’t even plugged in and when I attempted to plug it in is when I discovered the outlets didn’t even work. There was a phone in the living room area that also didn’t work, not sure why I was surprised. Had no toilet paper in the room. Hotel lobby smelled heavily of marijuana. Staff claimed the system was down and couldn’t check me out until morning and would email me an invoice. Called twice and still haven’t received an invoice, I give up. I’d prefer to give this location a negative star review if I could because 0 or 1 seem too high, like most of the staff. I understand it’s legal but doesn’t downplay the fact that it comes off as super unprofessional. I am incredibly glad that my family was not traveling with me. NEVER EVER STAY HERE!

My recent stay at the Hyatt House was nothing short of delightful, largely due to the exceptional service provided by Derrick. From the moment I arrived, Derrick's commitment to hospitality was evident. His warm welcome, and willingness to assist with any request made my stay incredibly enjoyable. Derrick went above and beyond to ensure that I had a comfortable and memorable experience. His genuine care and dedication to providing outstanding customer service truly set him apart. Thanks to Derrick and the Hyatt House team, I left with a deep appreciation for their commitment to guest satisfaction, and I look forward to returning in the future.

There was food in the elevator smashed on the floor. There was trash and bleach spots all overthe carpet in the 4th floor hallway. The hotel smelled like weed. The doors were in terrible shape and you could tell were old and had been painted over. The remodel of the room was done with poor quality materials. We left after 15 minutes (those 15 minutes were spent finding another hotel close by). When we told the front desk agent we were leaving, she did not act surprised or offer any apologies as it clearly isn't the first time it's happened. She took out information to give to a manager for a refund. Location was nice and close to the airport but that means nothing if I don't feel safe staying at the hotel. They ended up charging us still for the first night since we were inside the cancellation policy. Ridiculous considering we have status with Hyatt.

Quite possibly the worst hyatt hotel I have been too. The carpet in the halls were dirty, elevator was dirty, walls were dingy. This place needs some major renovations. The rooms are alright but nothing nice or spectacular. Keys also don’t work. Had to go down to front desk every time I wanted to get in to my room to get a new key. The staff is so so. Overall not impressed and will never stay here again. This is a 1-2 star hotel that is overpriced at best.

  • 3/5 Donna G. 6 months ago on Google
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The staff were nice but could be a bit more welcoming. Breakfast was yummy looking but lacked taste. And then there is the area... It borders a calm residential neighborhood, but is obviously in an economically struggling area. There were safety tips all over. Oh and only 1 working elevator. The hike to and from our room was 2 long corridors from the 1 overworked little elevator.

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your place. They compare countless hotel sites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in this area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't be let down. Friendly staff, spacious, modern rooms. The breakfast was good , great location, Ubers were inexpensive to get to other parts of the city and great value for price. Building felt secure and safe. The pool was just re-opened too which was nice.

Make sure to use HotelTully.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. This website will compare countless booking websites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the most well known in this area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't regret it. The staff here is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good after some very comfortable sleep. The negatives are that This hotel is huge and only had one working elevator. Also the rooms are very dated. This could be remedied by upgrading the tvs. Otherwise, I would stay here again for a quick trip.

If I could give this hotel no stars, I would. Worst stay, EVER. I have stayed here before, but I will never return. First off, I got food poisoning from them not storing food correctly. Upon arrival, both elevators were out of order and we had to carry everything upstairs and through the winding hallways. One elevator worked the next day. Tried to get food the first night, but the cook was driving the shuttle and then promptly left for the evening. (Around 7pm.) Breakfast was gross, had to order out. Finally gave in the third day and ate breakfast there, and boy was that a HUGE mistake. Cue the food poisoning. I spent the entire night up with food poisoning. 4 days later and I am still battling it, and had to go to the ER. The overall hotel was musty and generally not very clean feeling. The doors had gaps big enough to see into the hallway. Management staff constantly ignored patrons and talked and giggled amongst themselves. Do yourself a favor and book a room literally anywhere else but here. Worst Hyatt EVER!

The rooms were sweet and they were nice. The staff was very pleasant and professional, and the breakfast in the lobby was very good. However, exiting is only one way on South Tryon Street, which during busy traffic times is quite difficult. So access is not as easy as it might have been.

We got stranded overnight in Charlotte and had to spend the night. After a long day in the airport dealing with delays, we were greeted with the warm service and friendly smiles from Hyatt House staff. Ed was amazing and made us laugh at the bar all night long. The room was complimentary with American Airlines and 10 minutes from the airport. Had everything we needed for the overnight stay in between airports.

This hotel is awesome, the staff were magnificent and congenial. It's all suites with kitchenettes, super spacious with two TVs. Long corridors so you don't have to actually pass through the lobby if you don't want to, but if you do there's a pool table and a bar. The bar is very limited and expensive. The pantry is limited and expensive. The breakfast is basic continental, bacon, eggs hash browns. It felt homely and the guests were a good mix. The police eat breakfast here

Honestly had an amazing experience here. We had some major issues with our airline and ended up being stranded in a Charlotte for the night. The staff were extremely friendly, and the hotel was clean and well kept. It also had a great communal area with games, pole and a bar.

Staying at this hotel as I write this. Hotel needs some work. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. One of the elevators is not working. Each floor has the southwest wing being remodeled (or it flooded - not sure but the same area on floors 1-3 where drywall is down in hallway). Room was not completely clean when checking in. Having said that, room is quiet and comfortable.

  • 4/5 Don N. 1 year ago on Google
I think they might have had a flood at the hotel because there was a lot of stuff under construction and signs of water damage. The staff here is terrific. There's a free shuttle which not only takes you to/from the airport but also to anywhere within 1 mile (according to hotel staff) or 3 miles (according to my driver). So, YMMV? Important point is it's free. So, tip accordingly because it beats having to call a rideshare! The time are adequate and comfortable. I only stayed 1 night so can't really report much. Did go to a Waffle House for the first time using the shuttle!

The place was nice and clean! I will stay there again if ever in the area. The fact I couldn't get a clean set of sheets and towels blew my mind! But, after catching a worker in the hallway I was given plenty. The service at breakfast was nice. I felt secure on the property at all times! It was well lite and doors were secured at dark.

We just stayed 4 nights with our family of four. Everything was perfect. Check in was smooth and the rooms were clean and super spacious. Had everything we needed. The breakfast was good as well. No complaints here!

The property feels quite new and is well maintained. The rooms are quite spacious and the kitchen and living area makes it feel quite comfortable. The check-in process was quick and efficient even though we reached the property quite late. The laundry service at the property did not have half the machines working, and the ones that were working, were not effective. Anyways, coming back to the room. The bathroom, kitchenette, bed were all of high quality. We enjoyed our one night stay at this property.

I only worked there as a Security Officer, I never was in the Rooms. However, the Staff, seem to be very Friendly and Accommodating to Everyone. Also, their Breakfast, that's available in the mornings; offers a Great Variety and is Very Delicious. From my Experience and Observation, they Deserved (5) Stars, and I Encourage them to Keep Up the Good Work !!! Love Y'all

I found the hotel via a search, and the price was alright and seemed to be what I needed for a few nights. I checked in and was given a key to one room that had someone in it. I was then given a key to another room that hadn’t been serviced. Third time I got an unoccupied room, but it was unsatisfactory. Both air conditioning units in the one bedroom suite leaked water on to the carpet. A lamp in the living area didn’t have a light bulb and it fell apart when I touched it. The shower handle bar was rusted and fell off in the shower. The paint in the bedroom was peeling off the walls. The hallway carpets were dirty, dingy and disgusting and weren’t vacuumed until later in the evening. Key cards didn’t work in exterior entrances other than the main entrance. I was quite happy to check out and move along on my trip. The saving grace was both the location and the staff. That’s it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Beware.
