Older and dated multi story motel. The restaurant on site seemed more like a bar with take out. I did not see any servers other than the bar tender. The breakfast was fine but in a very small and crowded alcove behind the bar. Hotel staff were pleasant, but management staff was terrible. A $20.00 a day parking fee that was not disclosed to me at check in was added to my final bill for the parking lot located next door. We wont be back to this property.

During our Thanksgiving visit to Charlotte, North Carolina, there were several aspects of our stay worth mentioning. Starting with the positives, the hotel staff, especially at the front desk, were generally friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious and tidy, with a pleasing view of uptown Charlotte. However, there were some drawbacks. As a Navy retiree, I value consistency, which was lacking in the hotel's bar operations. It was closed on Thanksgiving, which I understood, but the following day, despite being staffed, it remained closed due to low attendance. This seemed to lack structure and order; I believe in adhering to posted hours regardless of customer turnout. Additionally, our room's toilet had a continuous running water issue, which we mitigated by shutting off the water valve. The hotel's prime location is a notable highlight, conveniently opposite the Bank of America Stadium. An update on my experience: I'm currently at the hotel bar, interacting with the same staff member as yesterday, who is the bartender. Her demeanor doesn't seem very welcoming to me, which is discouraging. I had intended to enjoy a few drinks here, but now I'm considering spending my evening elsewhere.

While the location is fantastic and the breakfast was great we weren't able to get quality sleep as our room window was directly above the trash containers and were woken up at 3AM. Your experience will vary depending what type of room you may get. The rooms are also a little outdated and starting to show some age as well but were mostly clean aside from the bathtub where we found a few hairs from previous guests.

Location is the reason I had this place booked. Front desk staffs were nice, but on second day morning the lady working the breakfast counter yelled at my daughter for getting breakfast for the family. She was extremely rude, I complained the front office and manager was supposed to get back to me, never did. Zero accountability, I did not get an apology for that behavior. I'm a lifelong Marriott member, this experience soured our experience.

I found this hotel adequate for attending a Carolina Panthers football game if doing an overnight stay. The rooms were fine not exceptionally clean or maintained. The amenities also were good but not an exceptional experience. The restaurant bar and grill was ok, but the bar tender was more interested in the R&B videos on the TV than helping patrons whom may want a drink to unwind or small food item to close the evening. I personally asked if there was a bar menu and got an abrupt reply "No!" To which I had to navigate the entire stock of adult beverages behind the bar before just succumbing to a simple beer. And a couple of guest behind us also had the same issue, of having to just simply ask do you have a wine list, and a no answer was given and they literally had to rephrase the question to "well could you please let us know what wines you have available!" I feel on football nights the bar area could do so much better by providing a better equipped member of customer service! I will say that for the continental breakfast, it was fair with its options, and there was an older lady busting tables and cleaning the area that was super sweet and very nice to the clientele! The young lady that did check my family in and out was also super and was very professional in her approach! Parking was spot on convenient for game day!

The Residence Inn is a lovely hotel that offers excellent amenities such as complimentary breakfast, comfortable rooms, and exceptional service. However, it is advisable to request a new parking ticket each time you leave the premises if you're staying for an extended period. I had been given a 30-day parking pass, but unfortunately, it only worked once. The picture is my hotel view

Front Desk and Staff were really friendly/ knowledgeable. We needed extra sheets and pillows and they had them to us within 5 minutes. Location was fantastic and convenient for walking Uptown. Breakfast was much better then a lot of higher end hotels. The room was clean. Only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 is because the room was a little smaller then expected. Overall a Fantastic Experience.

My husband and I stayed at this property for the weekend. Our incredible service began when I booked our reservation with Tori over the phone. She was absolutely professional, great energy and patient. When we met Tori at the front desk she was absolutely wonderful! Warm and welcoming. Stephanie checked us in and she was absolutely amazing throughout our weekend. Beautiful smile always and very attentive! Malik, at the front desk was very nice and professional (future model 😉). Ms. Barbara, who works the breakfast area was super sweet, attentive and kept the eating area absolutely clean for all the guests, thank you ! She ensured every guest was well taken care of. The hotel is beautiful, excellent location, clean rooms and very spacious. Entire staff was very nice! Thank you all for your amazing hospitality. 🙏🏽❤️

Amazing staff! Everyone working here is very nice and excellent at their jobs. Solid hotel breakfast in the morning. The building itself however, could use some updates: - Second floor room facing parking garage = lots of street and parking garage noise, including trash collection very early in the morning and a drummer playing on the street starting at 11:00am - Only one nightstand had outlets convenient for phone chargers, the other side I had to move the night stand to find a wall outlet. - Interiors feel a little dated, there are residence inns that feel nicer than this one. Unfortunately total noise cancellation is not something we can always expect as it is a hotel, but sucks when such obnoxious noise like a live drummer bleeds into your room in the morning.

Overall, our stay was a major disappointment. We stayed there overnight for the Elton John Farewell Concert, and even if we hadn't been paying the doubled event prices for our room, the stay would have been lacking. The Good: 1. Front desk staff was fantastic. Busy as they were they took time to answer all my questions and meet my needs. 2. Location: Not having to deal with 10s of thousands of cars leaving a venue was fantastic. We could just stroll back to our room. 3. Having actual dinnerware and silverware was a nice touch! The Bad: The mattress on our bed was. . . lacking. I've stayed in $75/nite Mom 'n Pop motels that took the effort to make sure the rooms had a good comfy mattress. Ours here felt like a clapped out Big Lots bargain special. Also, we felt that having to go to the front desk for ice, snacks, and soda was inconvenient. The Ugly: The aforementioned silverware. The first spoon I picked up to stir coffee with had a burn mark on the bottom typical of someone cooking up a dose of heroin. Not the hotel's fault but . . . damn! Breakfast hours were advertised as 6:30 to 9:30. Personnel were closing off the service line at 9:05. Since there was an event the night before, thought should have been given to extending service hours to 10 or 10:30, since there were likely to be a lot of guests wanting to sleep a bit later after a busy night. In any case, attempting to shut down the serving line a half hour EARLY was totally unacceptable.

I’m only giving it 3 stars for the location and convenience . My room was horrible and for almost $400 a night I expected better. Bathroom shower tiles weren’t safe. Almost cut my foot while showering. Pull out had rust stains all over the mattress (forgot to get a picture of that). Cold water knob was broken in kept spinning on tub. Windows open which isn’t safe with smaller kids. I know it’s not the Ritz, but I expected more for the price I paid!

Attended an event here. Front desk staff went way above and beyond to answer my random questions about the art work and help a family member. Everything was clean and bright. Hotel is next to the baseball field and walkable to many attractions.

Clean. Smells good. Room is spacious and lovely. Front desk staff welcoming and friendly. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Good breakfast. Decent fitness room and a park across the street as well. Would definitely recommend.

A great hotel in a fantastic location. I'll review each of the areas below separately with A-F grades. PARKING: A. Great covered facility that is easy to get in and out of and reasonably priced at $20/night. LOCATION: A+. Can't beat the location. Walking distance to everything and the Triple A baseball stadium is across the street and Bank of America stadium is two blocks away. The Nascar HOF is an easy 10 minute walk. The local area felt safe to walk with frequent police presence. CHECK-IN PROCESS: A. The check-in was quick and efficient. The front desk representative was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. ROOM: B. Everything was clean and in good working order. Our room had a fantastic view of the downtown area and ball field. The only reason I rated it a B and not an A was a queen size bed instead of a king (which was the only room available at the time I was booking. Seems in the rooms with a single bed it should be a king). FACILITY OVERALL / GYM / BREAKFAST: B. Everything overall was excellent with one exception--the "enhanced" high speed internet was not working--only the regular internet which did work fine and I did not notice any buffering. The fitness center was nice and everything was working. The evening bar was very busy due to a concert at BOA but the staff worked hard and wait times were minimal to get served. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff working it were even better--one of the nicer group of ladies we have enjoyed at a Marriott property. The food was very good, hot, and out right on time when it opened at 0630. The elevators were fast and all of them working. SUMMARY: A great hotel in a "cant-be-beat" location in the heart of downtown Charlotte. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I’ve stayed in worse but it’s pretty bad for a Marriott name. Just older building. Hotel smells musty. Parking situation is miserable. Pull out mattress is disgusting. Room pretty old. Bad sound proofing. I can hear traffic all night and sirens. No thermostat in the room, so you’re either freezing not too hot. Just pay the extra buck and stay some place nice. Only positive is the location. It’s right by the football and baseball stadium. Nice restaurants nearby.

We had booked a room weeks ago for a business trip. Our company had received a group rate for multiple rooms. The day of the event we called ahead to confirm. The front desk confirmed we were good. We arrive around 5 pm and were told we couldn’t stay there we had been bumped to the dunhill. We were put in a tiny room there. Not a good experience at all and definitely will not recommend to anyone to use them again. One of the founders of our company was bumped too. We had 5 of our party bumped. Poor business.

We took the kids on a mini vacay before back to school. Let’s start first by saying we love the spacious rooms being a big family. Two separate bedrooms and common areas and kitchen was perfect. The ladies in the breakfast area were jewels, very personable and welcoming always willing to go beyond and above to ensure we were taken care of. The front desk staff could use a little more work , the young African American man there was excellent. Personable, professional and helpful! Cons: The room was not clean , multiple places where hair from previous stay was in the bathrooms, showers , and even in our wash clothes. We stayed from Thursday - Sunday and requested when we booked for full room service . Reminded the staff at the front on Saturday and they said housekeeping would be on to clean , we went out for the day and came back room was still not cleaned called back to the front desk and the staff checked again and said with emphasis that the staff said earlier they would clean our room. We left out again came back that evening, still no room cleaned. The following day only towels and beds were replaced and made up they did not vacuum or sweep as popcorn was all over our floor from a spill. We were definitely disappointed but managed even asked for a vacuum but the staff said we could not use it. Maybe we will try another location the next time but over an okay stay.

We have stayed in this hotel several times and it’s fine. The location is very convenient to our work. But this last visit is a completely different story. The AC did not work in the first room. They gave us a new room but did not offer to help us move. Luckily, we had not taken our luggage off the cart. The next morning, we realized there was no hot water. I reported it to the front desk and they said they would let the maintenance guy know. I returned to the hotel this afternoon, Alex at the front desk said the problem was resolved. But it wasn’t. At best the water was tepid. As with the night before, he said he could move us but would not send anyone to help us. He claimed that another maintenance guy was on the way, but that person has yet to appear.

I would give one star but the staff were kind. These rooms are not family friendly at all. There are windows that crank open at the floor. A one year old can easily fall through. They do not lock and are extremely easy to open. Hopefully management will see this and contact corporate to get all of them replaced. So extremely dangerous I have no idea how it’s legal.

We rented several rooms for our family over Thanksgiving due to some unexpected construction at our home. We were so pleased with the experience that we may do it again. The staff at this hotel was overwhelmingly professional and friendly. Rushell, the assistant GM was a gem. We had an unexpected situation arise during our stay and Rushell was very creative to find a solution and made us feel valued. Sherise at the front desk was awesome as well. And Barbara served an amazing breakfast and was definitely a stand out. We stay at a lot of Marriott's and Barbara and Rushell stood out above all the others; so friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean and in a great location. Bravo!

Stayed here because it’s SO close to the Bank of America Stadium! Rooms are of course spacious; hot breakfast in the morning, and the front desk staff was so nice. They also have a bar and hot breakfast in the morning.

Chose this hotel for the location next to the stadium. Room was clean and spacious. Desk staff were friendly, courteous, helpful, and professional. The bar staff that we encountered were not the best and could use a little hospitality training but overall I would definitely recommend this location.

The staff is great. Location is great. But the owners have not invested back into this property. The rooms are dated, smell and need to be overhauled. Not the Marriott experience I am used to.

Decent hotel with clean rooms even though it appears a bit rundown. Great location with a nice little park across the street and walkable to sporting arenas and key business centers.
