STAYING IN YOUR CAR MAY BE THE BETTER OPTION!…VERY DISAPPOINTED!!’ Please note that this hotel is undergoing MAJOR renovations. I am a lover of Marriott hotels. However, please ask to see a room before committing to stay at this hotel!!! My family’s experience was the smell of mildew in the second bedroom room, damaged furniture, a missing closet door, light bulbs blown and tacks holding up some of the wall decor. The manager acted as if I offended him as I requested a FULL refund because my family should not have had to suffer the smell of mildew!!!! Not to mention the damages in the room. He gave a rebate of about half the cost of the room! I was extremely disappointed with the manager and my experience! PLEASE save yourself the hassle, not worth it!

The room was huge, but the couch had a stain, the bathroom needed updating bad, the door handle was hard to open and we struggled to get into our room, no coffee maker in our room but lots of coffee pods, the staff was friendly and the lobby was nice. I'm glad they had free parking and the location was convenient. Breakfast was okay not the worst I've had at a hotel. This hotel needs lots of updating though. No fans in the bathroom and the shower had cracks in the tile.

Staying here was going well until there was a fire Sunday morning. I was down stairs having breakfast and my sister was in the room. She said the smoke alarm was going off. But the alarm never went off downstairs. That was a red flag to me not to mention. None of the staff had no training or direction on what was supposed to be taking place. People was just waking in and out of the building even before the fire department cleared the building. Just very concerning to me because I know Policies and procedures. You guys may want to update this before something terrible happens.

Update: the hotel staff has been very wonderful and helpful. Eventually I was moved to a room that has working everything and it is very nice. I am currently staying in this hotel for work. It is under renovation which comes with many problems and I have been understanding and tolerant up until I started getting sick. My air filter has obviously not been changed in over a year and in further inspection the intake for the air conditioning unit is covered in mold, which explains why i start coughing when I'm in my room and i have been getting more ill every day since i checked in. I do not recommend this hotel. Also, there is no hot water in the morning!!!!!

Hello. I live in Ukraine. I did not make any subscriptions and reservations at your hotel. I even didn't now about you. We have war in our country. My child and I are in hiding. 5 times you tried to take money from my card to pay something at your hotel, and when I blocked the card, you made a credit on my account in the amount of $625. This is a very big sum for me. Me and my baby have nothing to eat! Please return the money back to my bank account!

Oh, my we should have read the reviews. The only redeeming quality of this hotel was the friendly staff. Why did we rate this hotel as poor? Let me count the ways. The hallway on the 3rd floor smelled like stale urine and a rotting dead animal. I had to cover my mouth and nose and hold my breath. The room had a musty odor and smelled strongly like mold every time the A/C came on. We couldn't even use the A/C because I had an asthma attacks everytime it ran. The kitchen sink drained reeked, and I again had to hold my breath everytime I ran water in the sink. The kitchen was missing several utensils and cooking pans. At breakfast, there was 2 sausage patties and 2 scoops of eggs left with 30 mins left for breakfast time. 4 other people came through and asked for breakfast. 20 minutes later there was never any food brought out. The parking spaces are too narrow for anything but a compact car. Beds were terrible, but at least the linens were clean. The back door key card reader was broken and staff had to let us in every time. We've stayed in literally hundreds of Marriott properties, and my husband has the top level Marriott status. We've stayed at Residence Inns several times over the years. This past year all the Marriott properties we stayed in have gone downhill a good bit, but this is hands down the worst Marriott property we've ever seen. So much that we left early and forfeited a night just to get out of there. I don't know if they either have no budget for maintenance or simply no desire. We will always read the reviews before we book a Marriott in the future.

I was thoroughly appalled by my recent stay at the Residence Inn SouthPark in Charlotte. My initial encounter with this property was nothing short of a nightmare. The moment I stepped into the hotel, an overpowering stench of mildew assaulted my senses, not only in the hallway but also within my own room. This was simply unacceptable. This is particularly given the fact that other guests have apparently been complaining about this in online reviews going back months. I wish I had read those reviews prior to entering this property. Incredibly, the situation worsened. The following morning, I ventured to the gym, only to find that the air conditioning had decided to take a vacation of its own, leaving the room at 80 degrees according to the thermostat. My workout became an exercise in sheer discomfort. Unfortunately, the horrors didn’t end there. On the second day of my stay, the noxious stench of mildew had escalated to an insufferable degree, now mingling with an absolutely revolting sewage odor. This was not merely disappointing; it was unsanitary and wholly unacceptable. I was not the only guest to complain of this during my stay according to the front desk staff. Despite my determination to have breakfast, the olfactory assault in the hallway intensified, forcing me to endure a nauseating combination of mildew and sewage. To make matters worse, the stench of mildew had infiltrated my clothing and belongings, leaving an indelible reminder of my stay. To add to my discomfort, there was another unsettling incident involving the elevator. When I attempted to return to my room on the third floor after complaining about the smell to management, the elevator suddenly embarked on an erratic journey. It took me and another guest on an unexpected ride, ascending to the 8th floor, descending to the 7th, then ascending again to the 8th, only to finally return to the third. This unnerving experience, combined with everything else that happened during my stay, left me incredibly uncomfortable and concerned for my safety. Like the mildew smell, this is not the first time the malfunctioning elevator has been mentioned in online reviews. Given the escalating noxious smells, I had to cut my stay at the Residence Inn SouthPark in Charlotte a day short. This is honestly the worst hotel I've ever visited. I implore you not to stay at this property and thereby avoid this appalling situation. As a devoted Marriott Bonvoy member, I hold the Marriott brand to the highest standards. This experience was an egregious betrayal of those expectations.

Great hotel stay for a business meeting. Everything I needed was there. Was easy to get in and out of and parking worked well. The rooms were clean and laid out well. I'm excited to see what happens when the remodel is complete.

Had a great experience staying here for 3 nights. The hotel was super quiet all 3 nights. I love the suite style room- it allowed us to have a home cooked meal in our room. We had all of the utensils needed for our dinner. All of the staff were kind and helpful.

I stayed here on 10/4. First the check in clerk was not helpful to us and impolite. When checking in our room we were there about six minutes and were covered completely in bugs. Their solution was for us to wash our clothes after a twelve hour journey from the west coast. Our clothes were never dry and we had to wait another 90 minutes. We got moved to another room that was dirty and disgusting. We were scared to do anything in the room and so completely disgusted. My daughter’s legs were covered in bites. I asked the manager for a call and refund and was not contacted or refunded at all. I travel a lot and will reconsider Marriott in my future.

In the past ninety days, we have spent two nights on the 3 and eighth floors of this hotel. We were unhappy that we didn't have hot water for a day throughout each visit. Every employee was courteous. The renovated rooms looked good. It was a delicious breakfast. When we return to Charlotte, we'll search for a different motel.

We stayed in this hotel twice in the last 90 days on the 7th floor and 8th floor. We were disappointed that on each visit we spent a day without hot water. All staff members were kind. Renovated rooms were nice. Breakfast was very good. We will look for another hotel on our next visit to Charlotte.

Convenient location to business areas in South Park area. Roomy accommodations with kitchen facilities for longer stays. Dated room design with odd bathroom configuration. Felt welcomed by staff, however unsafe in dimly lit parking lot which was marked by many signs warning of breakins. Good free breakfast selection at start, however items ran out quickly and weren't replenished. Breakfast area also untidy during operating hours. No hot water available in bath sink which is located outside of bathroom. Staff always willing to help, warm and personable.

Avoid with all costs! had no heat, no internet toilet broken, sofa bed was filthy! my kids had sleep on that with blanket over it I contacted Marriott directly several times they offered me 10,000 points so I assumed that would be like $100 I paid $180 to stay in these conditions! After checking their website to try use points with my husband somewhere else nothing under 38,000 points so therefore they dont take 10,000 pts plus money! I again reached out to them and they said my excuses was NOT enough to issue anything else???? seriously? its OLD outdated, was not remodeled nor looked like pictures before I booked it, if not for being so tired from drive down which was almost 4 hours in bad weather I should have taken pictures and posted them

Not a complete disaster but worn out and a tad unclean. Nowhere near where most Residence Inn locations are at. Bathroom and thermostat are very old as is almost everything in room. Even TV has not been updated to usual system. Clearly money is not being put into the place and it shows. Marriott needs to step in and improve this place.

This hotel is old and broken down. No hot water in the sinks, the hallways smell like sewage, there were paper towels stuffed in the room vents, the mattress was thin and uncomfortable. The entire place needs to be redone. The rooms cost too much to be this bad. The front desk staff is fantastic. Stay somewhere else.

This is an outdated old hotel in a great location with great service excellent staff! Old rooms, old furniture, old carpet, old bathrooms, old doors, old elevator, old low toilets, just old!🤦🏾‍♀️ I stayed here with a group and paid group price prior to be able to read reviews, cause had I read the reviews, I would’ve gladly separated from my group😩… I didn’t take pictures, I think at this point I was just done. I can see some cosmetic remodeling taking place and heard there is some more updating coming, however, I probably will not return🤷🏽‍♀️. As stated before, the front desk staff and server serving breakfast was excellent! I did not eat the breakfast and coffee was okay.

It's OK. The rooms are spacious and have what you would need for an extended stay room (kitchen area, stove top, fridge etc), and thr beds are comfortable. But it is a slightly older hotel. The most frustrating thing was that most of the gym equipment was out of order.

Great location and great Marriott property. It is one of the more aged Residence Inn properties but has managed to stay in great shape. You can't use mobile key or contactless check in, but it's still pretty current in most every other way. The staff are just great and are very helpful 24/7. This is one of my favorite places to stay in Charlotte if I want a good location and would like to have a kitchen to use as my own.

Could use some updating but good location and friendly staff who were accommodating. Have stayed here a few times and never had problems. Has its own free parking lot. Incidental:20$✅

It's kind of run down and musty. Morning crew at the front desk looked unfriendly and disengaged. At time of check in, there was only one bell cart to bring stuff in. On checking out, there were no bell carts so that was annoying. The two bedroom suite was large, had a "great room" with fireplace and a full kitchen. The bedrooms are across a central main sitting area which is nice for privacy between people staying there. The furniture is old and dated. It didn't feel clean. The ceilings were dusty. This place needs a visit from corporate and if not a renovation, a strong deep cleaning at the least.

John, the General Manager was so helpful and went way out of his way to make my stay comfortable. I had a medical procedure next door and was alone. He walked me to my room and made sure I was settled in. The rest of the staff was also very nice. In the morning, the front desk clerk, Shasta, greater every single person with a smile.

The room was very clean and spacious, however, it would be great if they installed USB ports to cater more to their guests that travel for business. Also, the dishwasher had stale, smelly, pink water in it, that seemed to not have been checked in a while. Also, we did not get clean linen, until the day before we left and we had already been there for 4 days. The service was just ok, thus the reason for 3 stars. Overall, the experience was a good one.

Excellent Marriott resort with an excellent location. Despite being one of the older Residence Inns, it has maintained outstanding condition. It is still fairly contemporary in most other aspects, however it isn't compatible with mobile keys or contactless check-in. The employees are outstanding and are extremely helpful all the time. If I want a nice location and a kitchen of my own, this is one of my favorite locations to stay in Charlotte.
