It's laughable that this place listed as 3star. The "hot buffet" is frozen burritos that have to be microwaved and become soggy and gross. The whole place smells like mold and it feels ultra cramped in this place. The owner is irrate and the staff are highly inattentive. Can't get maid service the 4 days I was there. Had to practically beg for fresh towels. They yelled at me about a messy room. I gladly left. Try to stay somewhere else!

I very much enjoyed my stay at Comfort Inn, 1718 Winsor Crossing Drive, Charlotte/Matthews, NC on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 overnight. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean. Each member of the staff was friendly and efficient. My thanks to Tabitha working the front desk on Wednesday, April 5 as I checked out. She was particularly attentive to meeting my needs as I am totally blind. She made sure I got to the bathroom, drink/snack machines, and the break room table/chair while I waited for my ride. I am certainly impressed with my stay and wanted you to know. Thank you for a job well done in managing this hotel, hiring caring staff, and maintaining an atmosphere of home away from home.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. Though the staff was very friendly, when I got to my room it was extremely musty and dilapidated. I initially thought they gave me someone else's room because the walls were so thin it sounded like the folks in the next room were in my room. The heat was from a wall unit that seemed to be very old. It was extremely loud and woke me up several times in the night. I also ended up waking up with the whole left side of my face swollen that was against the pillow while sleeping. When I went to go get the supposed hot breakfast, the only things that were edible were the prepackaged yogurt and the toast. The coffee machine was not in service, so there was no coffee or water. I was not thrilled with the location either from a safety standpoint. It rates in the top five worst hotel experiences I've had.

We booked at Comfort Inn for the price and reviews (4.8 rating out of 5 stars). Customer service was deplorable-both checking in and out. I waited 5+ minutes to check in. Apparently the individual on duty was in the back room. Supposedly we were given an upgrade. If the room was an upgrade, I wonder what we would have been given otherwise. Food was mediocre. Rubbery eggs, bacon half cooked, etc. Only juice beverage available was orange juice. Supposedly the room was remodeled. If Comfort Inn considers the ceiling remodeled, inept or inexperienced individuals did the work. At check out this morning, the counter receptionist was sound asleep. I stood at the counter for a good 2-3 minutes before she woke up. She looked like she had a rough night partying and/or was high on drugs (eyes glazed over, etc.). Bathtub didn't drain properly. Water rose up to my ankles. Tried calling reception- no answer. Went downstairs to report the problem. No one at the desk. The housekeeping staff were better dressed than the other employees. You can be assured we will not be returning to this hotel.

This is a great place to stay. Check in was easy. I didn't like paying the $75 deposit fee and I get that back soon after our stay. Beds were comfortable making for a good nights sleep. I'd come back here.

This was both a business and pleasure trip. I had to perform (comedy) in Charlotte and my husband wanted to see the Nascar Hall of Fame.. It was our Anniversary weekend so we killed 2 birds with one stone. I travel often and have stayed in some questionable properties but if they were all like this, the travel industry would once again flourish. They follow ALL of the recent COVID guidelines. This property was clean and ran like a ROLEX. The customer service was excellent. Upon our arrival, our room wasn't ready (we were early) but they explained that it would be ready within the hour. We went and picked up a few things while we waited for the room to be done. Although I always clean behind housekeeping it really wasn't a need. The room was so clean I couldn't believe it. No signs of mildew, no streaks on the mirror, no random trash in the corners. Even the PCs and printers in the business center had been cleaned properly. The pool area was clean and the water was perfect. They had an array of choices for breakfast and made sure it was replenished as necessary. The attendant cleaned up all spills and wiped down tables as people left. Hot coffee and cold juice was readily available during breakfast hours. The common area was clean and inviting. I felt a sense of relief and comfort during my stay. This property is literally in the middle of every retail store or shop you can think of.. either a short drive or a brisk walk and you are at your destination. It's been a while since I've stayed in a property such as this... If I had to complain, I would say that I didn't receive stay over service but I think I needed to request this service (pull trash, make up bed and freshen linens). It was fine as I was able to go downstairs and get clean towels with no problem. Great property, will definitely stay here again..

Super friendly staff!!!!! Reasonable rate. Room was clean and as advertised. Breakfast had a great variety and clean eating space. Several restaurants within walking distance. Plenty of parking as well. Will definitely stay here again anytime we are in the area. Would give more stars but 5 is all it will let me give.

Great hotel, rooms were very clean and nice. Miss Tabitha is super helpful and so knowledgeable with what she does there. People like her are priceless. She’s stern but polite with any information that I requested. Although I had a mishap with a reservation I booked, she was able to explain everything correctly and work on a solution for me. Thank you Tabitha!

The room was constantly wet. Water just hung around in the air making all of your clothes wet. It smelled awful and I don't just mean all of the weed everyone was smoking around you. Someone had clearly used the toilet in our room before us and there appeared to be boogers on the shower wall. Mold all over the bathroom. The shower floor was not installed correctly so it just floods the bathroom the whole time and if you wanted a better layout they make you pay. It was not a pleasant experience.

Hotel is centrally located to a variety of good restaurants and entertainment. However the concierge seemed very new and we had to ask twice for basic room amenities as they were promised but never brought the first time. The room itself was clean enough (no bugs that we could see) but there was a strong musky/mildew scent that pervaded the room. In addition there was a decent size crack in the ceiling, chipped paint throughout, a strangers sock, and enough makeup stains on the bed/pillows that made us doubt the thoroughness of the house keeping staff. All in all, if you are only in town for a day or two this may be sufficient but I would avoid it if better options are available.

The rooms are clean however there's a musty smell every time we come into the room, and it wouldn't be any better if we changed rooms. After a shower the towels don't dry (it remains wet the entire day). You can't open the one window which is in the room, to get fresh air. We suggested at the front desk that they put in a dehumidifier-- to take out the moist in the air but they don't own one.... The front desk strives to please all customers... If you need anything they'll assist if they can... The rooms are clean but very basic.. It's quiet. But no real place to sit and eat in the grass---there's 1 wooden table out in the back, that was dirty, and it's right by the garbage dump..... The motel is near many big stores like Sam's....(11 minute drive to Walmart)

We booked a King room and it was a very big room but it smelled musty and felt wet. We cranked the AC to help and after a while it did but we had to the same thing each day when returning to the room after being out all day. The shower didn't drain so we were in standing in water while showering. And we had zero room service. We had to go get fresh towels and t.p. It was disappointing because we booked the hotel based on the reviews and ratings of others. Now, the location was great and I thought the breakfast offered enough to give you a good start and the attendants kept it stocked. And the front staff were nice. So, some positives but still the stay fell below our expectations.

Hotel is dated. Full of contractors during the week. Motel needs a deep and thorough cleaning in the common areas. Entrance hasn’t been cleaned in a while. Furniture, doors, cabinets show wear. Breakfast area small and doesn’t offer an inviting atmosphere. My room was clean except handprint on the curtain.

The room had a heavy smell of smoke and mildew. Both myself and my significant other not only developed sore throats after two nights but our clothes also reeked of smoke and mildew. The ironing board had stains on it and the iron itself was burnt to a crisp. Outdated carpet and room overall. I wanted to like it for $100 a night. The pool was the main reason I booked the hotel. We drove 12 hours from NY and then we’re told the pool was not open and wouldn’t be open the entire week with little remorse. The breakfast was also below my expectations. It was something to put in my stomach but the pre made egg Patties weren’t as good as fluffy scrambled eggs on most buffets. We only tolerated it because it was the only place that was close to my fathers house that was available but we will not be returning unfortunately.

I own a small business in NC. For at least 10 years ( and 3x a year) now I have always stayed at the Comfort Inn Matthews and I set up rooms for the people coming with me (usually a min of 12) The Staff are always great and Chet (the owner) is always willing to help with anything that I may need. The Hotel is easy to get to and located in just the right area for Shopping, Restaurants, etc. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else in Charlotte.

Great experience- friendly receptionist, comfortable beds and pillows, immaculately clean hotel and rooms, delicious breakfast (including the pancakes which were a surprise), and hot water with strong pressure. Hotel is also conveniently situated near a grocery store, tons of shopping and restaurants. Overall, highly recommend.

Recently stayed at this hotel for two nights & it definitely was a good experience hands down. The service was pretty good. Terrance from the front desk was very helpful. Also the continental breakfast offered plenty of options & was very delicious! I'd recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a good hotel & good experience while visiting the area.

We usually used to stay at this location for several occasions (for religious conferences and trainings as a group) for the past few years. The staffs have been always working hard to accommodate us as needed. I don’t say that everything is perfect but they try their best to meet our needs upon request. Tabitha at the front desk is always helpful and professional. If you need special needs or request for the group, ask for Chet (the manager) and you will be surprised for his friendly personality and his adequate service.

Overall, it's good hotel for the money, under 90 a night. The hotel is worn down and older and definitely in need of general maintenance and upgrades. Hallways smell very musty, and they've placed plug-in deodorizer every 20' or so. Drapes don't stop lights from coming into the room at night. Beds are comfortable and the water pressure is amazing.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean. The location is good because it's near shopping, restaurants, and off the highway. It was quiet. Breakfast was a plus because it had pastries, pancakes, waffles, and meat.
