I wanted to give 5 stars because of the exceptional customer service received when checking in, the lady was nice and very friendly; however, her co worker, Jose is the reason the hotel receives a bad review. When checking in, he was said to be sleeping while the poor lady was handling a business lobby on her own. She called to wake him but could not reach him so a customer volunteered to help her by going to the room to wake him up. Again, I was patient and she finished up my paperwork and I went on to my room. Here's why Mr. Jose left a bad taste in my mouth. So my husband and I had put our 3 kids to bed and we started to fall asleep ourselves when we heard the phone or at least my husband did because I was sleep but as sleepy as he was from watching the football game, He missed the phone call. Instead of knocking, my husband heard someone coming in the room and, it was Jose. No knock. Just letting himself in. It startled my husband so he puts on a shirt to find out the matter. A simple misunderstanding that could have been handled more timely and professionally. Not to mention he spoke in a very rude, smart tone that was not called for to say the least. After the matter was handled, my husband had another conversation to explain our grievance about his unprofessionalism. Jose gave a half behind apology, but honestly, in the near future, would we return, maybe, but only if someone else was running the front desk.

It's definitely a step down from a Comfort Inn & Suites, which we stayed at 2 earlier in the week as well as 2 Holiday Inn Expresses. Breakfast was just OK. Weird having sausage gravy in a crockpot. The bed was OK. Room (2 Queen beds & sofa-bed) was spacious. The bathroom was just OK too. Nothing special. Would I stay here again? Nah.

We stayed at this smaller hotel as our first night stay on our family road trip down to Hilton Head Island. We stayed in a larger suite room which was in good condition, had a small kitchenette including fridge, microwave and sink. The room easily slept our group with two queen beds and a pull out couch. Nice touch were the two TVs in the room. The hotel is a little older but well kept and as I noted the room was in good condition. The excellent part about this hotel is the location. It is just off the loop around Charlotte and has everything you could need in a very close distance from Walmart to Walgreens and any type of restaurant you could want from eat in to fast food. Hotel was quiet at night and seemed more like families had booked overnights here. Hotel had a nice little indoor pool, workout room and actually was offering their normal breakfast. Nice to make your own fresh waffle again instead of the prepackaged we have all had to eat through covid. Server at breakfast was great and so were all the other staff. We would stay again.

The hotel room is very nice. My only complaint would be the noise the heat makes throughout the night. It kept waking me up. Breakfast was good except for the bread slices served at breakfast. They were dried out.

The hotel was well kept (clean). Staff was friendly n helpful. The breakfast bar was great. Food very tasty. Enjoyed it. I was upset cause housekeeping kept the rooms clean when checking out. Very thorough in cleaning. My only complaint was I ask both days if they could leave 2 lotions in my room and never received them. Our stay was rememorable. Thank you

Starting with check-in our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 7pm. The desk clerk was very accommodating and found us another room and gave us 200 points. Unfortunately our new room really wasn't ready. To begin with we noticed there were no toiletries in the bathroom. Went to use the phone to call the front desk...it wasn't working. Half of the light fixtures didn't work. The air conditioning was outdated and mostly useless until the outside temperature dropped. The microwave was a useless large paperweight until I relocated it to a different outlet taking up valuable counter space. I say valuable since there was very little counter space. And this was supposed to be an upgrade room because our room wasn't ready. The only redeeming quality was the breakfast. While very good, not a reason to return on our next trip through the area.

Stayed for a few nights and I found the rooms quite comfortable. The location was very close to Carowinds so if you’re planning on going there this is a good option. The breakfast made in the morning by the worker, Elsa, was delicious and probably one of the best I’ve had from a hotel in a while. I don’t eat meat so the eggs and waffles were my go to. I highly recommend this hotel

Rooms were not as.clean as I hoped. They even smelled dirty. I took Lysol and hosed down EVERYTHING. Linens had holes in them. Furniture had stains and lots of wear. Lamps weren't working or falling apart. Breakfast wasn't very good either. Food wasn't hot. We stayed here 2 years ago and the hotel has gone downhill dramatically. We won't stay here next year.

I recently had an incredible stay. From the moment I walked through the lobby doors, I knew I was in for a special experience. The staff welcomed me with warm smiles and impeccable service, making me feel like a valued guest from the start. The room I stayed in was nothing short of luxurious. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, and meticulously clean. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the room, from the plush bedding to the stylish furnishings. The view from my window was breathtaking, and I loved waking up to that every morning. What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. They were always ready with a friendly greeting and eager to assist with any request. I definitely recommend the stay specially for the price, I booked a few minutes before showing up and I was shocked to how low the price was comparing to surroundings prices.

I was pleasantly surprised! This is not an expensive hotel so I thought it would be a so so okay place...but to my surprise the hotel smelt fresh and clean and it was carpeted!! The room was very clean with no smell! The staff was nice and the price was great for a King size suite!! The breakfast was a hot breakfast. It was a pleasant stay!

We stayed several nights and every front desk agent, housekeeper and breakfast bar attendant we encountered were all nice, responsive and helpful. I didn’t get all of their names but the breakfast person was Elsa. Food was really good. Love that it’s next to a walking trail, which we did several times. Safe for a female to walk/ run alone. Also walking distance to Walgreens and Vitamin Shoppe. Room was clean and very comfortable. Our only request would be to add a table and chairs out front so people can sit outside to eat breakfast. The only place to sit outside was in the smoking area. :/

The room wasn’t like I thought it would be but the customer service from Lillie was outstanding. She went above and beyond her call of duty and did everything in her power to make things better. The hotel was decent but you really gotta love the hospitality from ms Lillie.

Great location for a weekend trip visiting Charlotte. We chose this hotel for a visit to carowinds and a concert at the spectrum center. Miss Lillie at the front desk was wonderful and extremely Kind and courteous. She remembered my name at check out. Breakfast was very good and had lots of options! Room was clean and large. Would definitely stay here again.

Beds were fairly comfy, room was clean and stocked with necessities. Didn't sleep well first night due to excessive noise, yelling coming from adjoining room. Called front desk at 12:15 am, noise didn't quieten until after 1:30 am. First morning of breakfast was not up to par, guy ( didn't see name tag)wasn't stocking etc. was playing on cell phone. 2nd morning Elsa was giving it 100%, she was kind and making sure everyone had things they needed. Everything well stocked. Lillie at front desk was friendly and very helpful. Overall good stay, I'd book again if in area.

I arrived late so I’m tired. I had 3 rooms for 2 nights. The 1st room smelled but ok I sprayed Lysol. The 2nd room, I was “greeted” by a huge roach that I sprayed with Lysol to kill (didn’t get a pic of that) The toilet would barely flush in that room too. Front desk moves me & then I was greeted by a very nasty toilet seat. At this point I’m over the entire experience at this hotel. My other room smelled also by the way. The smell I could fix but the roach & nasty toilet is a “NO” for me. I just wasted a hard earned 112,000 points plus an additional $97 on a hotel that is horrible! I wouldn’t stay here again & I would not refer your location. This just ruined my entire trip!

Very close to Carowinds, good service, cheap rooms, everything I needed for this trip. The free breakfast was surprisingly good, even if the seating area for it was small, and there was no change machine for the vending machines, but everything else was perfect. Room service when requested, parking lot in great condition.

The lady who cooks breakfast in the morning I believe her name is Elis or Elisa she is such a great person I've been staying here for a week or two now and every morning she greets me and my family with a smile and is there to help in any way. I really appreciate her hard work and what she does to feed so many people everyday she's a gem for sure

I absolutely love this place I stayed two weekends in a row! The first weekend I was extremely upset because I took my children to swim for the weekend and they were unable to do so because some kids bullying my son! Melissa came down personally to make sure my son was okay. But MS.LILLIE IS OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!!! She comforted my son and make him feel so much better and went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. It was only because of her that we came back for my son's birthday on 4/16 our stay was way better this time around and we were looking forward to seeing her smile at breakfast! She is absolutely amazing and she definitely saved me as a customer because before her I didn't want to stay there ever again!!!!! She is definitely and asset to the quality inn brand! We love Ms.Lillie ❤️❤️❤️

Many hotels allow pets and bc I have a pet allergy, when traveling I always aim to find a hotel that's "not" pet friendly. Honestly I'm quite surprised at how clean this hotel was. I had a business suite and the room was clean, nice and my God the bed was so comfortable. The best part was the hot breakfast. Every morning they had good food and the sausage gravy was great! Staff was friendly and accommodating. 2nd time staying here and so as long as they never change their pet policy this is where I'll stay when traveling to Charlotte. The area is nice and safe with plenty shopping places close by including the mall which is literally in walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

I went from five-star stellar service to condescending unprofessional treatment you could ever receive from a company employee. The company employee lacks integrity, not a representation of the company's brand nor mission. Checked in, requested late check out. I was advised not an issue and to just remind front desk in the morning although a note eould be left on my account. Followed up an 7am, had an nightmare on Elm Street experience. The representative named Lilly who was not easy to do business with. Called at 7am to re confirm my late check out, but she immediately over talked me and would not allow me to speak without cutting me off each time I attempted to explained a note was placed on my account in advance to ensure evidence this was requested, that I would be checking out late. However Lilly was determined to not listen to anything said on my end, only looked to respond. Then she told me if your are not out by 11am, you will lose your deposit in attempt to shut down my stance. However the rep only reiterated what she said in a rude tone, then hung up on me in mid sentence of me speaking to her. Lilly actions reflect for me she hates her job. During conversation she did not mind being confrontational, lacking integrity in how she handled this situation. After being hung up on I went to front desk to request the owner calls me or a manager to address my concerns with them instead. Lilly's behavior and tone was uncalled for, she would have never spoken with a white woman or man or different nationality in the manner as in which she did with me. The company should not allow this level of treatment with their guest at anytime, she should be reprimanded for this experience, I'm certain I am not the only customer she has treated like this regardless if they spoke on it.

Bed Bugs. Don't do it. It was a nightmare. We booked the hotel for the indoor pool which was closed for the duration of our stay. In the first room we were given, the heater did not work, and it was cold in December. The second room we got moved to was infested with bed bugs. Unfortunately we didn't notice until we woke up the next morning when I was COVERED in bites. Once I started looking around, we saw actual bed bugs. When I let the front desk know and asked for a big trash bag for all of our belongings, they acted unconcerned and just handed over a big bag. No offer of a refund... nothing. I itched for 2 straight weeks, had to throw out a favorite pillow, and purchase bed bug traps for our home out of concern that we brought them home with us. AVOID this hotel. If they had acted concerned or like they were going to do anything besides book the next unsuspecting traveler in that room, maybe I wouldn't have taken the time to write this.

We had booked a deluxe double Queen Suite with a sofa bed, but when we arrived they told us that it was now a king room with a sofa bed. This new room had less space for our family. The coffee machine in the room did not work. The furniture was broken and or dilapidated. The curtains were ripped. The children were excited to go swimming and one of them jumped in but it was too cold for them to swim. We were only given one remote for the two televisions, and when we called down to the front desk they said we could come down and get another one. The one that they gave us had corroded batteries and did not work. The coffee that was left out for the guests during the day was lukewarm. The egg and sausage selection were gross both days with pools of water and sloppy eggs and sausage. No one seemed to eat them. There was a hairbrush behind the coffee station. The furniture in the room was dirty. The bathroom door did not lock. The bathroom sink did not drain properly. Now that the stuff that they need to improve is out of the way - there were several nice things. The rest of the room and the sheets and pillows were generally clean. They had extra pillows for us. They accommodated a High room on the third floor which was fun. The rest of the buffet was nice. The employees were friendly.

I rarely write hotel reviews, but this stay warrants one. My family and I tend to travel on mini getaways at least once per month. This trip happened to be my daughter's 6th birthday . Per her request she wanted a mini vacation instead of a big birthday party. She wanted a short drive but then I found out my grandma's health had declined and time is probably limited. So we did a combined birthday/visit great grandma trip. I had high hopes for this hotel based on reviews, but I went back and forth on this hotel and a more expensive one that didn't offer a guarantee on a heated pool. Our experience was pretty crazy so I wanted to leave a review for anyone questioning whether to book this hotel or not. I won't sway you one way or another, but I will hit on our cons and pros. Let me start with the pros 1. When I called to ask whether the heated pool was operational, the male employee was so professional and friendly that he honestly sold me on booking. 2. The pool was operational and while it wasn't hot per se, it was much, much better than the ice boxes we have experienced in the past 30 days ( savanmah ga, Orlando FL and Walterboro sc were all quite cold in the past 30 days). 3. The room is a nice size with 2 tvs. 4. The lady who does breakfast is very sweet. Now for the cons: 1. I have 3 kids...7 years, 6 years and 5 months. I noted this in my reservation. We got what we thought was an awesome room. We had a pool view. Too bad we were right next to the stairwell. We heard kids running up and down all hours of the night. It kept waking up our baby which meant poor sleep for is all. 2. Yes, the above isn't quite the hotels fault, but I did make them aware and nothing changed despite us being there 4 days and 3 nights. If you happen to book, forego the extra cost of a deluxe fee because it gets you nothing more than a stairwell room and you will hear kids running all night long. 3. The crowds. They clearly give good discounted rates to groups. We saw tons of family reunion groups come and go. We didn't get to enjoy those discounts but definitely had to deal with the ramifications of group rates and overcrowding of breakfast and pool area. 4. Breakfast is good if you are staying for one night. Any additional nights, expect the same exact thing. No decent variations. Sausage every single morning and typical hotel eggs. I really missed the variety we get at other hotels. 5. Management is less than stellar. I told you I complained about kids running and waking my baby up constantly. Well then comes a 1:45 am fire alarm. We had to get all 3 kids out quickly and stand outside. Then I learned some very concerning things about another guest of the hotel. I spoke with hotel staff about my previous complaints and this new concern. The employee was very professional but management did nothing to address the problems...they continued the next night. 6. Towels/housekeeping...good luck. They are " short staffed". 7. No early check ins allowed whatsoever. Basically a bless your heart response from the female employee when we inquired....bc again short staffed. Didn't even bother to inquire if room was ready. It's no its ands or buts, they just won't do it. 8. Our "deluxe room" view was of IHOP and a toilet. Legit a toilet in the grass that my 7 year old pointed out was full of trash. Glad we paid that extra money for the deluxe view... 9. They only have 2 luggage carts. So good luck if this is a stopover or lots of bags kind of vacation. We legit had to sit in the lobby and beg rhe person bringing a cart out to give it to us next. While we thoroughly enjoyed the pool (it was definitely the best pool of the last 4 hotels we stayed in), we wouldn't do it again. We would have gone with a hotel who valued families more. We should have been offered to move rooms away from the stairwell or offered a discount or a credit bc of the stairwell and children running or at a minimum bc of the 1 45 am fire alarm but don't expect that here.

Because of the rain, our original vacation plans were canceled but we didn't leave because we found other things to do and we are glad we stayed because Lillie at the front desk was more than helpful with assisting us when we needed to print a gift certificate for dinner that night! She was an amazing front desk associate and because of her we are coming back next month!!

I stayed one night. The room was clean except for the sheets. The bed looked clean until I got into bed. I smelled something awful, as I laid there I figured out it was the sheets and that I had to take them off and turn them the other way so I could get away from the smell and sleep. The horrible smell was on one end of the sheets but not throughout. The smell permeated the room. It was too late at night to call the front desk or to get another room as I was already in my pajamas and exhausted. The sheer curtains were shredded for sun bleach. My experience with the sheets grossed me out enough that it was hard to sleep. The hotel was clean, new and the rest of my room was also clean and new.

Booked through a third party and the rez got messed up. Folks at the front desk took great care of me and got me the room I needed. Super nice and friendly! Also the breakfast here is dope. I’ll book direct next time!

Nice hotel and really good free breakfast. Pleasant service. Only downfall I had was the window in our 2nd floor room opened all the way with no screen or safety rails which I found out after my kiddos showed me. Could be a extreme hazard.

Beware!! Do not stay here. They do not even deserve the one star.Overnight staff is very rude. Specifically the grey hair dude with the ponytail. He harass our group several different times. Decided to stay here for my daughters birthday and we couldn't even enjoy because this musty funky guy wants to knock every 2 seconds using his imagination to make things up. Very racist and rude demeanor. Not to mention the small tic that was found on the bathroom towel and the broken closet. The floor was not vacuum upon arrival and I was double charge after the police was called on us.This hotel is disgusting and low budget. Do not waste your time or dime.

I absolutely love this hotel. Family friendly. Breakfast buffet with hot and cold varieties. Coffee always available. They even give out cookies! Maid service is on point and very diligent. Clean rooms as well. They also offer their deposits to be paid in cash as well as card, so you don't have to wait that 5 to 10 business days for a refund. I like that! Great CUSTOMER SERVICE TOO!

Great price for the location to go to Carowinds. The pool is alright, not very spacious but it was enough to satisfy the children. We got the room with 2 queens and a sleeper sofa, it was the most spacious room we've had for that combination in the last few years of taking vacations with the kids. Breakfast has a great variety!

  • 1/5 Amanda H. 3 months ago on Google • 1 review New
I’ll start by saying the room was very spacious but unfortunately that is the only good thing. We only booked for the indoor pool which out of the 4 nights we stayed it was never opened. Breakfast was horrible. No sausage in the gravy one morning, no biscuits for the gravy the next, no orange juice one day and then the next two days no juice at all. Also no milk. The halls smelled bad like onions or some kind of food. Our blanket on one bed was dirty, there was duct tape on the window, one of our tvs has 4 decent sized white dots on the screen. We nicely asked about all the above and not one time were any of these things taken care of nor did any of them seem to care besides we did get a new blanket. Also the pull out bed had stains. Beds were suppose to be Queen and they were double … I never have wrote a bad review but felt I should let future customers know before they waste their money.

The most unprofessional manager ever. We made a reservation for an employee using our company points and they would not honor it because the employee’s name did not match the contact person’s name for the company. Funny thing is we’ve used this location before using the same process. Very disappointed and will never use this location again. Customer service goes a long way. Wasn’t asking for favors, just using our account. If you aren’t going to honor that then maybe corporate should remove your location from the rewards program.
