I thoroughly enjoyed everything that served. The rye whiskey Old Fashioned was very smooth, perfect pre-meal drink. The bread service was delicious. The bacon wrapped scallops were the perfect appetizer. The butcher steak that we ordered was a perfect medium, very soft and tender. The chicken teriyaki was awesome too, great proportions of everything. Too full for desert this time. Would definitely recommend, and am definitely coming back!

I absolutely loved my dinner. I ordered the Teriyaki Trout dinner and the fish and sides were cooked to perfection. I also had the butter cake for dessert and it is one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. The restaurant was short staffed but the wait staff did very good attending to our table. I can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes on the menu.

Our first visit to this restaurant that I hear has been in business for over 30 years. I was treating my husband to a Father’s Day dinner and was looking forward to a nice evening. We were showed to our table on time and our waitress Ally seemed very pleasant and served us our water. We placed our order for a salad and a soup and mentioned that we would like some bread for the table. Everything went downhill from here on. After a long wait, we were served the soup and salad, but with no silverware or napkins. There were several managerial staff walking around, but not really paying any attention to the customers’ needs. We finally get hold of one of them for some silverware. We mentioned that we would like to get some bread. Ally shows up much later, takes our order for the main entrees and we requested the bread again. She disappears and comes with the bread much later. Still no sign of the main entrees. We decided to give them an extra 15 minutes to bring the food. We were ready to walk out if it didn’t show up. Ally comes by to tell us she is going to check on the food. Finally, another 10 minutes later, the food was brought to the table…cold. We requested to speak to the manager. We were reluctant to have the food warmed up and brought back after another 15 minutes. There were apologies and excuses. Something about the kitchen staff being new. Hello! It’s Father’s Day! Get your act together. The worst dining experience of my life.

The spaghetti squash and zucchini dish is amazing delicious. My husband had the eggs Benedict and they were fantastic. I love it so much I have gone twice in a week. Service was excellent but slow because they were short staffed. Definitely would recommend

Yesterday was my first time at Village Tavern. I was there for a group brunch event. We were offered tea while we waited for others to join. I had the chamomile tea. I enjoyed it & plan to see if I can purchase the brand myself. I drank mine as-is. If you want sweeteners, you'll need to ask for it. Others in my group enjoyed the peppermint tea but had to ask for honey. I ordered the ham & cheese omelet and the crab cake. Being a MD girl, I tend to judge restaurants by their crab cakes. They passed. Most restaurants in the south have more bread than crab meat. This was straight crab meat; it could've used a little Old Bay or mustard, but those are my personal preferences. The omelet was great & filling. It came out hot, but I was able to enjoy it right away. The omelet came with hashbrowns, but they were just fried potatoes w/a few onions, imo. They were good. The omelet also came with a blueberry muffin. My only take away, there seemed to be stains in both the mug & the water container. I was too busy talking that I didn't notice it until I'd already drank the tea. If the containers are just stained, no problem. Unfortunately, the stains give the appearance of dirty containers. A few people made substitutions for their orders. Someone ordered a Benedict & didn't realize the middle of the eggs weren't cooked when our server mentioned that the eggs were fried. He apologized. She wanted the same order but with scrambled eggs. Someone ordered sweet potato fries but didn't want all of the sugar. She ordered regular fries instead. The server was pleasant the entire time. Would definitely return on my own.

My husband decided to take me out to village travel again. We always get excellent service, but this time the service was okay. Our food came out late and before others who came before us. Never had this experience before and been here numerous times. My salmon was not what I ask for, and tasted not great.

From the outside, the restaurant looks like a terrible office building cafeteria. But it is a nice restaurant inside. The food tasted good, but the service was a little slow. The food is expensive, but not super expensive. The fire alarm went off ruining the dinner experience, we had to go outside for like 15 minutes while food sat on the table getting cold. The restaurant did nothing except apologize. Our check should have been discounted at minimum. Might return.

First time here. We were invited for a birthday dinner for my sister in law. I was quite a wait, which I would expect at most restaurants on a Saturday night, but it was all well worth the wait for my first time here. Our server was the bartender. Well, you couldn't tell that he was running tables and the bar at the same for as much attention that he gave our party. (Job very well done and impressive) drinks, apps, and food came pretty fast.

Was not as great as we expected, especially for the price. Ordered the crab dip as an app. It was alright but definitely had that bad overpowering crab/seafood flavor. The pressed bread that came with the dip was the best part 😅😋. Then we ordered the shrimp and grits and the meatloaf. My friend loved her meatloaf! I didn’t try it but it looked very good. The flavoring for the shrimp and grits was good but my grits were not cooked all the way for sure. They also didn’t seem to be very creamy or have any cheese in them. I’m French and love love love gruyere and I couldn’t taste it at all. We also ordered a side of brussels sprouts and they were officially the worst brussel sprouts I’ve ever had! They came basically drenched in an sugar cane type sauce to the point that they were so soggy they were just falling apart and becoming mush in the bowl. They were WAY too sweet. I was very dissatisfied. We also ordered bread for the table and they literally only brought out enough bread for each person to have a single piece. Needless to say we were pretty disappointed with this place and probably wouldn’t come back here again. Our waiter was amazing though and so were the drinks!

Menu selection was decent but I only found a few options that would fit my preferences. Me and my guest both ordered the Mahi mahi, one was prepared Florentine style with the white wine and spinach, and mine was the other option which came with the angel hair pasta. Their scratch kitchen did such a perfect job cooking the mahi to perfection, the sauce was also delicious. I cleaned my plate.

Super delicious dinner with a nice server. I got a caesar salad with salmon and it was excellent. Location was easily accessible and the wait times weren’t long. I will definitely eat here again when in the area!

Nice hidden spot in Southpark (hidden if you're only use to being around the mall). Also note, parking is few but across the street is a free parking deck. Would have loved to eat outside cause the patio looks magically in the evening but was still extremely hot. Service was great. I believe our waitress was named Rachel (I'm so sorry I may have forgot, I blame the great food) who was so patient and kind. Food was delicious. Drink, painkiller I think, tasted like a smoothie with a lil liqca ;) Totally recommend the hot crab dip but be warned the 'garlic' bread is lacking (it's ok, its bread just not really garlicky). Baja fish tacos were so tasty. Substituted the sides for fries and brussels. The fries are Mickey Ds fries! It's amazing, they taste the same but fresher/healthier idk you have to try them. The brussels were great as well. Cannot wait to go back!

The food was very good! I had the hot crab dip which was tasty but could have used.mire seasoning but the toasted pita chips were great with it. I had salmon while my husband had the steak and they were both very good and had lots of flavor. No complaints there! Overall had a great time and would Definitely go back! I took off one star for service just because our waitress kept disappearing on us, and it wasn't packed so not sure where she kept going lol, but otherwise had fun and when she was around we were served and drinks were full. Oh yes it can be hard to find, keep going like your going behind the mall and you will see their green overhang with Village written on it. We went around a few times and kept missing it, they need more signs you can see from the street cuz it's not easily noticed.

Been several months since my last visit and this one was great. Menu is diverse blend of American and other specialties. Service was perfect. We enjoyed the crab dip, filets and very nice wine list

Reasonably priced menu items appropriate to taste. Good customer service and tasty desserts. Restaurant in a scenic view near a park and well maintained area.

Everything was great! The Chef and staff are very attentive and quick, with the special orders were made to perfection. We enjoyed the grilled salmon sandwich and fish tacos with a side of marsla for the rice.

The food was pretty good. Atmosphere is wonderful! The service was pretty good. Be aware you will need to park in a parking garage and do a short walk to the restaurant. But overall, I'd probably visit here again.

👍👍 It was delicious, exceptional drinks, I expected a heated space, as it was cold. I definitely recommend wearing more then 2 layers in the Winter. Despite everything, this this is arguably the better rooftops in Charlotte. Delicious delicious drinks, decent prices, casual atmosphere, amazing times....

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
