The food & drinks were good. The 1 waitress that was working was doing an amazing job. She really needed help but she didn't let the pressure get to her. The fried green beans were my favorite. The fried pickles were good, but were a little soggy on the bottom. Both come with a spicy ranch sauce that is nothing to play with!! I had the taco salad. It was really good. Some of the toppings were fresh. The salsa was disappointing, especially since their spicy ranch was so tasty. This place has been there for a long time. I remember when it was a seafood restaurant. Not much has changed in the decor. The space is large and the open design it great. There is also a smell that hits you in the face that makes you want to walk out. If that smell is removed (probably in the old carpet) & the decorations updated, I could see this place as a go to restaurant.

When we did a gps drive to this place it took us behind the gas stn , in front of a church with the bar sign still up. Its actually across the street from this stip shopping complex instead. Can't miss it. We walked in and it's got a seasoned sports bar kinda vibe to it. We sat ourselves and our server jennifer, our server was very nice. I ordered top shelf LiT and he ordered his usual coke. Food is mostly avg and my drinks were nice and stiff. Rr needs helps. However, our server was the best thing about this place. We'll be back for drinks maybe. 3* only because I sat on my jacket the whole time. Next time I'm taking the car cushion cuz The booths are like you're sitting on the courthouse benches.

Good selection, good pizza and a huge menu to choose from. Attentive service. My biggest complaint is that the seating was probably the hardest, most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on while dining in somewhere. May be a favorite among regulars, but the atmosphere just looked tired and in need of updating.

The staff have always been kind and attentive. Unfortunately the bartender and cook need to be replaced. Can't get a margarita correct (day 1 of bartending) and the food taste is about what I would expect my 12 year old to walk out of the kitchen with. The inside could do with some TLC. The restrooms .... The booths.... The flooring .. it's a hang out bar. Don't expect more.

Honestly a huge disappointment. If your that short staffed Shut down! Worst service ever. This server Jennifer people rave about is horrible. She had no personality, didn't attend to us at all just hung out at the bar. Pretty sure she was drinking the whole time on the job. The lady behind the bar as well had an attitude. The place was dirty. We had an accident with our kids they spilled there drink I went to the bar lady just gave me a wet rag to clean. I was trying to be responsible and out server came and was like oh the floors wet and that was it. I tried to dry the floor.either way a disappointment.

I really like the burgers, soup and sandwich combo. This is one of my favorite lunch joints. There's not a better value for Charlotte lunch. The staff is always friendly.

This place should NOT offer call-in orders if they don’t have enough staff to reasonably accommodate them. Other restaurants and bars that offer this service manage to “prioritize their in-person customers” while also not laying the phone on the counter for 15+ minutes and loudly gossiping to each other, I will be ordering elsewhere

The wings and fried green beans were delicious and Jennifer was amazing. Will definitely be returning.

Hubby and I went there for a lunch date. I got the triple dekker and he got a burger. We had a really good waitress that was both friendly and attentive. Seemed like a cool place for friends to meet up!

Big Al's has been around fir many years. Even though they do not offer lunch specials any more the food is still outstanding and the pricing is still great. Timothy was our server and he was outstanding. He was running the entire floor area and served each table continously and courtesily. We shared the fried pickels, build your own calzone and chef salad which was more than enough to eat. We will be back again soon.

It's very spacious but everything is dark as if it were a cabin. The dining is separate from the bar. The carpet could be replaced with hard wood and would be better for it. Overall the place had the presence of your typical bar and grill at your favorite beach. There was only one server it seemed but we were there well passed lunch time. She was pleasant and more importantly knew what she was doing. We ordered basic items as we'd never been here before, but it was all very good; The potato skins had a very satisfying crunch and tasted like they should. The club sandwich meat, bread, and toppings were very fresh. There macaroni was a little on the grainy side but you could tell was made in house and not frozen. There were three cheeses, cheddar, Gouda, and one I couldn't identify. The French dip was good and fresh, but I'd never been given the option before whether I wanted roast beef, or turkey. And the onion rings were beer battered and you could definitely taste the beer.

They leave you on hold and then hang up on you after you've been waiting... when you call back they say it's better to come inside to order... so what's the point in coming in? I wanted it to be ready by the time I got there. I'll go somewhere else...

I’ve been here a few times, haven’t had anything negative to say until today. Called to place a pickup order, was told to let her make her way to the computer to put in... instead the phone was just sat down. Heard other people’s order being taken and I waited for 15 minutes before disconnecting. Called back 5-10 minutes later in hopes to get someone and got the busy tone due to no one coming back to the phone, noticing someone (me) had hung up and the phone was still on the line. Very disappointing.

I'll start by saying the food was good, served fresh and hot. Our server was friendly and attentive. **Not really for kids. It's more a bar seen then anything. They allow vaping inside, multiple people at the bar and one couple sitting behind us in the "dining area" were all vaping.

First time visiting here with my co-workers. Our waitress Kelly is such a sweet lady and she’s funny! The food was great! We truly enjoyed them! We got fried mushrooms, Big Al’s Pizza, and Fiesta Burger. Dessert was warm brownies topped with ice cream and chocolate fudge! So so good! Definitely will be back again! Don’t be fooled by the Harvey motorcycles outside, they are so friendly!

We had Jennifer (with a flower in her hair) as our bartender tonight and she was amazing. Very attentive and friendly! Great drinks and drink specials.

First time going there, very nice people make you feel right at home. Building may be old but the service is good. I say check them out. Beer Wings, football 🏈💯 and other dishes. Check out their hours before you go..

The crust could be a tad thicker but over all I was very happy. Hard to find good pizza and they make good pizza. I would definitely buy it again.

Probably a great place if you’ve got younger kids, or you’re a bit of a picky eater because their food has 0 seasonings. That’s not a read that’s just the honest truth. Their pizza is exactly like Papa Johns. However, their salad dressings definitely taste homemade and are delicious. and their portions are HUGE, you’ll definitely be leaving with a full belly and leftovers!

Consistently good pub food. Convenient location and friendly staff. We love Big Al's for a quick lunch. Everyone in my family can find something on the menu to enjoy. Check it out!

The ultimate dive bar / pub in Charlotte. Wings are epic, food is excellent, beer is cheap, spacious and here's the surprise - great kids menu. Bring your kids during daylight hours and you can have a great family pub visit. Bring yourself after the sun goes down for a good party!
