My coworkers raved about this place prior to me coming. The only thing raving about Hotshots were the crazies that came in or the drunks that left. I mean. If you are into that really dark, dank kinda bar because the booze is aplenty and the women are...well, let's just say it's kind of like hooters and twin peaks. Not my scene. Customers were jerks, too much weed all over the place and the servers were, while I'm sure nice and good people, quite busy and frantic. Looks great on the outside...inside is a different story. Didn't have the food. Just came in for a drink and played darts.

Love this bar. Quarter pool tables, darts, poker tournament, bones. Beautiful patio. Food onsite. Local draughts.

Normal pool hall with the exception you have to put quarters in the machine after every game. I like it better when you rent by the hour b/c once the black ball goes in you technically have to pay to get it out and start over. When I asked for a mixed drink the bartender laughed and said this is a dive bar with no menu. So I guess they should tweak their business model a bit. Menus can be digital now. We also paid $20 for songs and never heard them b/c other people were skipping us by playing songs on their phone. It felt very contentious when it came to that.

This location has only been open for a couple of months. Total makeover of former location of Hotshots. New decor and updated large screen TVs. Pool tables got re-felted. Tonight happened to be Poker Night with section of tables set up for games. Good selection of beers on tap, including a couple of MW brews... one dark porter and one pale ale (brewed in Bristol, VA). Burgers were delicious and cooked to taste (charred, well done). Bar tenders, Brennen Johnson and Calinda Steinseifer, are very attentive and provide great recommendations. Enjoyed hearing the history of this location in chatting with General Manager Danica Hayden. Looking forward to some exciting additions... outdoor deck and live entertainment.

Bailey was very attentive and really made our dining experience a pleasure. Although I was skeptical of the food based on the reviews, to my surprise everything was pretty good. I got the queso potatoe skins and my dad got the taco meat nachos. We both enjoyed the meals ! Will def be back to try the wings!

I have always like Michael Waltrip. So when I went to visit the heart of NASCAR, I had to check out his taproom. It was quiet for a Friday afternoon and being sober for 19 years I found it surprising that they only served Heineken 0.0 when there is many more non-alcoholic brews, like Athletic Brewing, that taste great and could help with a slow Friday afternoon. I talked to the server and the manager. Both were very friendly and receptive to my suggestions. Then Mikey's Helmets caught my eye and the manager noticed and offered to open the case for me. I held Mike's special Dale Earhardt Hall Of Fame Helmet. That was something special. Too bad Michael was not there himself but, it was still a great lunch.

Our server Jaleah was AMAZING! She had a very stressful day bc of the NASCAR races and all the ppl she was trying to take care of all at one time. As this place is relatively new, I can only imagine how much time and effort it took this weekend! Especially today with the races being rained out and having Michael himself and his family in the building! She handled everything with such grace, she never stopped serving the entire 1 1/2hr I was there! She definitely needs to be kept around! The food was FANTASTIC AND PORTIONS AMAZING! Definitely worth the trip!

My family and I went to the Taproom the first time the other day. We had an amazing experience. The place is so open with high ceilings that even when packed I don't think it would be claustrophobic. When we went in we were seated within a couple of minutes by a very nice host. We ended up sitting near a big window meant to look like roll up doors on a garage. This let in a lot of natural light. Our server came over, giving us our menus and talking about the beers that were on tap from their line as well as the more typical beers. We ended up getting a flight of beers that gave us a nice selection of various types they had (IPAs, lagers, Ales, etc). We got to choose which beers to have in the flight so if a person just wanted to try a specific type of beer that is possible. We ordered the "The Bench" which is pretzels and cheese as well as pimento cheese. The pretzels were SO GOOD. I would go back again just for those pretzels. You get 2 larger pretzel sticks that are cut in half. This was enough to feed the three of us but if you had more people you may need more than one serving. Two of us also got the chicken tenders and the other person got the Olympic Caesar. To say Olympic might be an understatement. The salad was huge and the person ended up bringing it home to have as a second meal. The dressing was already on it and mixed in nicely but they did bring out a small ramekin of dressing if we wanted more. The chicken tenders were on the plump side but they were very well cooked. We both got buffalo dipping sauce to eat with ours but there are rubs, sauces and and dips to choose from. I also got a side of Tots to go with mine and who can go wrong with tots? Service at the Taproom was great. The woman that waited on us was very helpful and very attentive to us. She checked on us frequently and had a lot of nice suggestions for both beers and food when we asked. The bathrooms were clean and well lit. The space itself was huge and had a pool area toward the back and another area of darts off to the side. The server told us they have various theme nights like poker night and trivia night that people can participate in. Overall this was a great experience and I would go back. It just opened recently and is right near the track so I suspect on race weekends it could be packed and service could be slightly slower but for me, I would be willing to wait as it was a very nice place to eat again.

Honestly miss hotshots. Service is still good. But the whole vibe is different now and the music being restricted sucks. It’s so dead in here most nights in comparison to what it used to be. Miss the social aspects. The atmosphere changed drastically to a point where most people aren’t super social with each other anymore outside of the people they came with. Bartenders are still great though.

Great service. Pretty good food. 1st time here, but I'm looking forward to going again. Seems like a good place to watch a game, fight, race with friends.

We were in town for 2 days. We went to lunch on Wednesday 13th But they were having a staff meeting. Did not make it back till Thursday. Had lunch which was really good, free fried Oreos 😁. April B was very helpful let us sample some of the beer. Sorry we missed Micheal on Wednesday night. For sure will stop when we are in town again.

Started out with the Checkered Past. Absolutely delicious IPA 😋 Got the Single Mac Daddy and mw dust fries. Best meal I had while visiting Charlotte World Finals. Made a second trip to Michael Waltrip Taproom last night after World Finals. Ended up getting a big one of The Big One after the flight. Had the G.O.A.T. burger boy was it delicious. The service and atmosphere was great. Look forward to coming back on our next trip!

It was disappointing...was it because we went on a "trunk or treat" night or...? We might have to go back and try again when there is no activities planned in the parking lot. The food was good, but barely warm, as it may have been sitting awhile before being served. Our server had no knowledge of the beer that is served, stating, "I don't drink beer". That is all well and good, but you should know the products you are serving. The place inside was nearly empty, but service was incredibly slow. The shining spot in this outting was the Michael Waltrip beer selection. They are great tasting and our party tried a variety of them and not a bad critique of any of the ones we enjoyed. I definitely would go back for the beer.

I only drank Tequila cause it was late when I arrived in Charlotte and the kitchen was closed. Atmosphere was definitely fun!

We went for some beers and apps and it was very underwhelming. The waitress was nice and very pleasant to talk to. The beers we had were decent except for the one that is supposedly like a smore it was awful tasting. We ordered some wings, chicken tends and nachos. The nachos were awful We all had 1 chip and no more. The chip was very stale and they put some MW powder on it and gave the nachos a horrible taste. The wings were very small and very much over sauced. The chicken tenders were from a frozen package and were over cooked and rubbery. Hard to believe but it made Hot Shots food seem decent. As we were leaving the people ahead of us were complaining about how greasy the burgers were which is something we heard before. All in all would not recommend this spot.

Went Friday night 6-22 Food is great, service was lacking but that also may have been tithe staff giving us space instead of over crowding. Food is fantastic. Nachos alone are filling enough and the mw dusted tater tots hit like a dessert. Management was extremely helpful with anything we needed and checked on us. Would Def come back. There's a simple menu that's easy to navigate but still plenty of options.

Took way too long to get our food and once we did, they forgot our potato skins and fries. I told the waitress twice, and waited a long time just for them to bring an entire redo of the entree while still missing the fries. Then my friend got charged $107 for my order and I got charged for his $7 order- how do you mix up cards if the cards are in the sleeves that come with the check?? Very frustrating to have to deal with that. Drinks were okay though.

Reading these reviews has me wondering if I have gone to the same place. I've been on multiple occasions with my girlfriends (preCovid), my siblings, with a date, and even by myself. Food is ways good. Drinks as well. I've not had a bad experience and the food was good. Only bad experience was kitchen closed early on a Saturday night.

Food honestly wasn't that good at all. I ordered a turkey club which was supposed to be on a pretzel roll. I didn't find out until almost time for the food to come out that they were out of the rolls. They were supposed to use a brioche bun but what was used was what looked like a generic store brand small bun. The turkey was overcooked also. My husband's sandwich was mediocre at best. And what takes the cake?? The diet cokes were flat and tasted like they'd been poured out of 2 liter bottles. Not impressed at all.

I seen this place on IG newly reopened and remodeled, formally HotShots I believe. I tried it out on a date night. It was decent. The service was over the place. But our bartender was very apologetic. Definitely tried her hardest to please us. I really appreciated it. They had a live band on the patio, very packed out there. It's still only been opened for a few weeks. So I won't be to harsh on review. I'll definitely come back to try some games out. I seen darts and pool tables. Nice go place to watch a sporting event as well. Pack your patience before arrival. But overall not a bad place. Thanks

I didn't have anything to eat while I was here. I did enjoy a few brews :) I really like the Bristol Sunshine Ale... yes please I stopped in the next day just to pick up a six pack. Which is great because you can run in and buy your favorite brew to go. The service was great. Cool lil place. They have dart boards. The bathrooms look like locker rooms.

The waitresses stared at my boyfriend and I the entirety of our visit AND were extremely rude making it obvious they didn't want to serve us. Which by the way sucked for them because we hardly go out but when we do we don't hold back on hospitality, since we used to be in similar positions.

Only came and played pool for a couple hours. Generally dirty, pool tables (felt) were all in rough shape. Didn't order food. Had a shot and a beer I ordered from the bar. No service to the tables we used. Not much has been spent on maintenance .

All of the good service staff are being "let go." This place was holding on to something good, and it just keeps tearing itself apart. The staff are deliberately told not to attend to regulars as much. This place is pathetic and only worth going to if you want drinks that are mediocre in a thrown together fashion, food from a roach infested kitchen, and service that is only considered so so. If you want to go to a place cheaper for the same current experience, go to Hooters and get yourself a shot where an ingredient isn't missing every single time.

Friendly staff all throughout. We didn't eat there but The Young lady behind the bar named Brin was AWESOME! She made some really great drinks. She was willing and able to answer questions about cocktails, how and what they were mixed and made with. We will definitely be returning, for drinks and maybe some food next time.

Watch out for the short light skinned girl. She doesn't care about her customers. She's rude and doesn't give you what you ask for. I don't even know how she got her position which tells me a lot about the owner. I would rather go somewhere else. She gave us a bucket with no ice. Like who does that? Terrible service. Don't recommend this place at all.
