Not
what
it
once
was.
This
review
is
specific
to
the
location
in
Charlotte,
NC
off
of
Pineville-Matthews
Rd.
My
husband
called
to
see
if
there
was
availability
on
a
Friday
night
around
5:45p.
The
hostess
explained
the
first
open
table
they
would
have
would
be
at
7:45p.
She
took
his
name
and
told
him
he
may
have
luck
walking
in
but
best
to
have
a
reservation
as
back
up.
She
encouraged
him
to
show
up
early
but
be
prepared
to
wait
if
tables
were
full.
We
got
ready
and
arrived
at
6:55
per
the
hostesses
advice.
We
walked
up
to
the
only
entrance
being
a
hand
push
revolving
door
(not
at
all
covid
friendly
as
there
appeared
to
be
something
splattered
all
over
the
door…very
unclean
looking).
We
were
then
told
by
a
hostess
that
there
was
a
45
minute
wait.
Believable
for
a
Friday
night
however
there
were
16
empty
tables,
no
other
parties
waiting
to
be
seated.
Not
at
all
what
we
were
accustomed
to
with
other
Bonefish
restaurants.
The
hostess
said
there
were
several
7p
reservations
and
they
would
have
first
dibs
on
a
table.
We
waited
in
the
bar
area.
A
few
minutes
went
by
and
a
few
parties
left
equaling
more
empty
tables.
No
one
coming
in
the
door.
I
revisited
the
hostess
and
asked
what
the
grace
period
was
for
reservations
to
which
she
said
20
minutes.
Again,
16
empty
tables
and
few
coming
in
the
door.
We
sat
back
down
in
the
waiting
area
and
started
up
a
conversation
with
another
couple.
This
couple
and
one
other
came
in
after
us,
with
no
reservation.
Both
were
seated
prior
to
us
and
told
prior
there
would
only
be
a
20
minute
wait.
It
is
now
10
mins
after
7.
My
husbands
asked
how
we
would
know
when
it
was
our
turn
and
the
hostess
said
he
would
receive
a
text.
I
explained
that
no
one
took
his
phone
number.
The
hostess
seemed
surprised
and
almost
mocked
us
that
our
phone
number
was
not
taken
at
the
time
of
the
reservation.
After
looking
at
the
reservation,
she
confirmed
our
number
had
indeed
‘not’
been
taken.
I
asked
what
is
the
point
of
waiting
45
mins
with
so
many
open
tables.
Is
it
an
issue
with
staffing?
And
she
THEN
said,
we
have
to
seat
you
as
close
to
your
reservation
as
possible.
That
is
not
what
we
were
told
on
the
phone
nor
when
we
originally
arrived
nor
during
our
first
follow
up.
I
asked
why
walk
ins
had
been
sat
before
us
and
the
hostess
told
us
they
had
reservations.
I
told
her
we
had
conversations
with
the
couples
and
they
in
fact
did
not
have
reservations.
I
stood
in
front
of
her
until
she
seated
us.
The
entire
time
of
our
dinner,
there
were
7
tables
that
were
never
seated
out
of
the
16.
Our
server
only
had
our
table
plus
one
other.
Our
server
did
a
fantastic
job,
my
goodness
how
could
she
not
with
only
one
other
table
during
a
prime
time.
I
was
very
apprehensive
ordering
what
I
really
wanted
for
a
few
reasons:
cleanliness
of
the
restaurant
(the
floors
were
incredibly
sticky
and
at
this
location
that
seems
to
be
a
trend),
the
interaction
with
the
hostess,
and
the
lack
of
business.
I
was
worried
the
quality
of
food
that
I
have
come
to
know
and
trust
of
Bonefish
would
be
compromised
totally
ruining
our
date
night.
In
an
effort
to
salvage
our
dinner,
I
went
for
a
very
safe
dinner
selection.
We
want
to
be
empathetic
to
those
showing
up
for
work.
Our
service
was
hands
down
fantastic
and
we
tipped
accordingly.
We
chose
Bonefish
to
spend
our
time
and
money
and
we
were
let
down.
The
ambiance
was
not
at
all
what
it
once
was
leading
us
to
believe
the
chain
is
cutting
corners
in
other
areas
too.
I
think
this
location
has
had
our
business
for
the
last
time.
