The Quality of the food has Def decreased. And I just hate that the homeless and begging hang around the truck. They shouldn't allow that. The food use to be so flavorful and Now, its always very bland!!! The place is popular tho. I receive doordash orders for this merchant like crazy! And oh yes, it's cheap. I always order chicken over rice..it comes with a small portion of lettuce enjoyed like a plain salad

I've Been coming here for years. Before they became popular and it was only 6 bucks. Now at 9 bucks, the food quality has definitely gone downhill! I've tried it over several weeks, thinking it would get better but no. Each time they gave a pile of rice, limited chicken and old lettuce..and tried to charge extra for white sauce. The food was also COLD!! When I tried to complain, and bring the cold food back. They acted like they did not understand English! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS. YOU RAISE PRICES AND THE QUALITY OF FOOD DECLINED! DO BETTER!

I bought Falafel over rice from the food truck and came home. when I opened it at home it does not have rice. It has only vegetables and falafel. I tried to call them on the phone shared on the google, it never worked. I could not go back as it was 2AM and I was few miles away from uptown.

I really wanted to give more ⭐'s but I cannot and this is why... 1) Too many homeless people, literally standing around and asking every person for money while customers are paying for their meals. 2) No one who is on the food truck asks them to please do not approach their customers. 3) Meat was way too greasy. 4) They only take cash and it becomes very uncomfortable to pay with cash when all these men are standing over your shoulder begging for it!

Not really familiar with Mediterranean food but this place is absolutely amazing. For like 8 bucks you can get better food than half of the places in the area.

This was the poorest excuse for a steak sandwich. It was not freshly prepared, and it did not taste good at all. Major rip-off. The meat was very dry, the bread was hard. Zero seasoning; is a major disappointment. NOTICE: Avoid if you care about what you eat. Not good at all.

Food is like crack! Between the rice, spice, yogurt, and savory meats, it's hitting all your taste buds. They served four of us in under 30 seconds....and ate away at a line of 20 in no time.

Don’t waste time here! Falafel salad was old and cold served with spoon uncut cherry tomato and spring mix from a bag ! Lamb and rice looked horrible and was old too!

Not the best halal food truck ever but it was not terrible either. I ordered the lamb over rice- love sauce but this may have had a bit too much. Large portion and flavor was ok. Service is alright. Cash only!

The portion size that was served for 8 dollars was criminal. The chicken and lamb over rice was not flavorful, and the little bit of lettuce put on the plate...why? Food was prepared quickly, food was hot. Wouldn't advise. Save your money.

Whenever you are in Uptown Charlotte and you want a quick bite to eat Stop by the Halal Food Truck on the corner of North TRYON & East Trade I love the chicken & lamb over rice. (& ask for the spicy sauce 🫠 You’ll thank me later) Food Items are $11 & Under. They Only Accept Cash.

This review is about the Halal food truck at Bank of America building, Uptown, Charlotte. This used to be my one of the favorite to go Mediterranean meal destination in Charlotte. My favorite menu item was Chicken over rice. I loved the quality and quantity they used to serve at the reasonable pricing of 4.99. But this is somewhere about in 2018. Then they kept increasing the price Y-O-Y which was okay, but now the price has spiked about 75% to 7.99 per plate. This could have been okay if they could have maintained the quality, quantity and gesture, at least. However with the increasing demand and closing of other 2 Halal food trucks, they got the sense of monopoly and now compromising on 1) Quality - Sometimes chicken is not that well cooked and smells stale 2) Quantity- I remember, one serving used to be more than enough for one time meal, but now they have decreased the chicken pieces and rice quantity and hence not enough 3) Many of the times they are out of some sauces (white or chilly), which earlier they used to top up and give additional packs generously, without even asking. But now, even on asking for an additional pack, they will either ask for a dollar per pack (less than one spoon of sauce) or say they are out of to go packets. They have lost that Asian, Mediterranean hospitality sense and gesture towards the customer now. I used to go twice to these people almost every week and have recommended this to a lot of friends. But now, I avoid this place and wouldn't recommend as I still compare this with the one from 2018s.

There are two carts that say they are the halal food cart. The one in the beginning of the street I believe is the original one and costs $8.99 per rice and meat this within an extra $3 for an extra portion of meat. I also ordered from the other one. Got two dishes for $25. The lamb one was really good. Was good flavored rice. The chicken one had too many green peppers in it and was kind of bland. Overall I would say go to the yellow halal food guys truck. Their prices were good. The food was great and service was extremely quick. I would definitely highly recommend it.

Honestly if you like the Halal food Truck on the corner of W trade you will not like this it’s nothing like it. I love the one on W trade but this one was disgusting and double the price. It was waaaaay too much sauce, the lamb tasted like literal bologna and there was no type of seasoning everything just tasted like the sauce which was very nasty and tangy.A waste of $15.

Went there tonight for a quick dinner and didn’t expect much but the food was amazing! I ordered the chicken and rice and it was the best chicken and rice I’ve ever had. I loved that it wasn’t dry and the service was so quick! Super affordable as well! Highly recommend!

Entire meal came smothered in what tasted like hidden valley Ranch dressing, including the meat and rice. Not even a tahini or yogurt or garlic, like literally tasted like the entire meal was drowning in store bought ranch dressing. To make it worse, it was served cold, not even luke warm. There is another cart a block away that I have tried that I enjoyed a lot more and tasted more authentic.

Horrible service. Did an online order for pickup on a Friday night. We got an order ready text immediately. Busy intersection with no place to park or pull over, so one of us got out and walked to the truck while the other decided to drive around the block. They want to see the order on your phone and a screenshot is not accepted, even if the screenshot has the order number, date, time, order details and total price. We had to find a place to pull over so I could grab my friend's phone, after which they started preparing the order. Came home to find out that one of the items was wrong. What was supposed to be a quick pick up ended up taking 30 minutes. The food was ok, not nearly as good as it used to be.

Very convenient if your out in the evening or want something fast uptown but decent food with not much variety in the evening. I guess at night you feel like you just getting left overs from the day. I ordered a few chickens over rice and I had red sauce on one of them but it wasn’t the typical “red sauce” you get at other spots. This was some chili pepper sauce from hell. Couldn’t even eat that plate and I enjoy spicy dishes. Would go back again but just with less expectations

Lol looking at past reviews I definitely agree. I first ordered here about 7 months ago & was amazingly surprised at taste & quantity of food, very delicious, but like everyone has noticed food quality went down a lot. Everytime I would go to the cart there was another set of young looking guys running cart & not really paying attention, would never be given sauce half the time. I also noticed a different breads hoagie type roll being used, which was fine, but the meat itself was very shotty quality.i stopped ordering for a while after noticing food quality would depend on whoever was working that night or evening & I didn’t want to gamble good or terrible, however I went to the cart myself tonight & I saw a man & this man looked like he meant business. I mean he had nice full pots of flavorful lamb cooked to perfection…. Ahhh I digress bottom line it looks like the halal food truck is back under old management, because the food was SOOOO good. In fact I’ve never tasted it as good as tonight, they had a nice flakey gyro style bread for lamb & chicken, the sauce was blended into the meat, my favorite part NO HUGE USELESS CHUNKS OF OLD LETTUCE lol I always hated that in the recent sandwiches. I usually don’t write lots of reviews, but when I see a company actually try to please it’s customers I take notice & have to give props where due. Thanks bald guy, for rebuilding & maintaining halal food truck quality. I hope this is an ongoing thing. - would’ve taken photos, but ‘twas so good I could not find the time

We visited this food truck while at a 4 day training titled BREAK FREE ON 2023 at the Charlotte convention center. It's waking distance from there. We found the prices very very reasonable abs the many happy customers nearby. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak, and it was great. We took it home and microwaved it, yet it wasn't soggy or wet. Definitely recommend it. We ordered from the same place fur my team the next day. The UberEats delivery was ready when promised and the team enjoyed the Chicken with Rice and extra salad. Love this place.

Best kebab (lamb pita) that I've had since I studied abroad in Europe in college 12 yrs ago -- and trust me, I've tried A LOT of gyros/pitas in that time. Cash only, so plan ahead. Pro tip: get two, one for dinner and one for breakfast tomorrow

I don’t want to give them 1 star and ruin their ratings, but we stopped by today and got chicken over rice. The price went up, and the quality went down. If you charge more, you should better the quality of the food and not lessen it. No tomatoes or onions on the side just lettuce… and the chicken was seasoned with what tasted like Mexican seasoning which is not a bad thing but this isn’t a Mexican cart. Didn’t taste like shawarma spice at all. The chicken was also shredded to tiny bits and not fresh or juicy! It was dry. The falafel is $1 a piece, falafel should not be that pricey in my opinion!

It used be a better place but lately unfortunately the food is not the same quality. Some homeless ppl around the food truck they keep asking for money they should remove them or find the way more peaceful environment. For the price I think they have the cheapest gyro in the Charlotte.

Hands down the best food truck operating in Charlotte, the chicken over rice is amazing, as are the gyros. I love that they give you extra sauce on the side so you can customize spice level. Regularly visit this food cart & you should too!

Food is great, always has been. Customer service is absolute garbage. Went to get lunch at the university area food truck, they weren’t quite ready for lunch service at 11:10, and we were the first customers in line. Was barely acknowledged, a good line formed, then when they were ready for orders the employee completely skipped us and started taking others orders. Absolute garbage employee and service.

It hurts me to leave such a low review, as I’ve been a big fan of this place for over 4 years and it’s always been great, until recently. My last 3 orders have been so much lower quality than what I’ve grown to expect. The real issue is the amount of grease that is served. It’s almost like they’re not draining the fat/grease off of the chicken or lamb meat before they serve it over the rice and salad. I ended up throwing out the meal about half way through because I couldn’t stomach it. Hope this changed soon and they’re able to restore the quality that they’ve been known for. I’ll give it one more try in a week or two to see, but if it’s as greasy as it has been over the last month then I doubt I’ll return as a customer.

YESSSS! Been passing this truck up too many times. Now I live on this side I stopped as I waited on the Light Rail for some dinner. Got the chicken and lamb combo over brown rice. Yum yum yum! I had to stop eating til I get home. So sad I had passed this up so long. I will definitely be back really soon! They also have a great deal to make a combo for a $1 more you get a drink and dessert. Saw that after I ordered and didn't want to be annoying adding after they got started. Give them a shot. Also, they are so nice! Just an all around pleasure.

It was okay, not like the original halal food carts in NYC. The portion is smaller and it’s greasier and compare to NYC it’s more expensive. You get more food with $9 in nyc than in Charlotte. I got the lamb over rice.

The food is so good, I almost had a heart attack from eating it so fast. I had lamb over rice with the sauce and wanted more after I was done. It’s less than $10 and can get you full. Service & food was great. Regardless of the weather, they still were dedicated to serve. Totally recommend if you’re in the clt area !

Very good halal food. It’s chicken and lamb over rice with two additional falafels. Additional falafels are $1 each.

I drive from Greensboro to Charlotte to get this halal. It definitely has changed. The last two times I've been there, the flavor was off, and the amount is less. I usually get the chicken and lamb combo with extra lamb. This last two times, there was barely any lamb, and they covered it with chicken. I think I'll be skipping the drive for a while. There's a really good hala truck in Highpoint. I'll be seeing him more often.
