The chili chicken momos and goat biryani are must haves. Not only is the food delicious and very reasonably priced, everyone there was so sweet and accommodating. Manoj, the owner, and his beautiful wife were amazing hosts and took great care of us during our visit. We will definitely be back again…and again!

We were craving for Indian food so we searched nearby and came across Sarangi. We made a reservation before so our table was ready when we went for the dinner. The server came with a menu and from the menu we decided to order Hakka Noodles, Vegetable Steamed Chilli Momos, Hara Bhara Kabab, Dahi Puri Chaat, Chicken Steamed Momos, Malai Chicken Kabab and Gulab Jamun. We had to wait for 10-15 minutes before our food started coming. The food that came out was delicious and tasty. Do try the momos here as they are amazing and delicious. The food was freshly made and it was tasty. The only drawback is the wait time as they prepare fresh and hot food sometimes it can be too much but it is worth it.

Very busy while we were there on a Sunday evening, so wait staff were a bit slow but it was worth the wait. All the food was cooked to perfection. We had went through the reviews and picked the meals that had the best ratings. We were not disappointed. Plenty of food with enough to bring home for leftovers.

We travelled from South Carolina and stopped at this restaurant to grab a quick bite. We ended up having one of the best Indo-Nepali food. Everything was delicious and well prepared. They make the spice suited to your needs. Apart from the food the service was amazing also. The manager was so helpful and suggested us amazing food. Definitely worth visiting.

The mango chutney was delicious. The butter chicken with garlic Naan was perfection. There dumplings(Momos) and spicy sesame sauce are amazing 👏🏾 . My husband and I will be back!

We liked our time at Sarangi. We arrived on a Saturday evening, and it was decently busy. We got chili veg momos, kadai paneer and garlic naans. The momos were wrapped in a tangy sauce which was sweet laced with elements of spicy. It tasted pretty good, hitting the spot. The paneer wasn’t your typical North Indian paneer, with the gravy base being a little bland, but overall it wasn’t dismal. We liked it. We also got the chai, which had just the right amount of spices in it. The service was prompt. They serve drinks as well. You can get Indian beers such as Kingfisher and Bira White here as well. Sarangi is located very close to UNC, Charlotte and there’s ample parking outside. Restrooms are in the back and were clean. I’ll be back here to try their non vegetarian dishes, and to support this small business which tries its best. Sarangi isn’t exactly cheap, but it serves good food.

Run don’t walk to Sarangi, Indian and Nepali Cuisine in the University area. They just started a new lunch special a few days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday). They offer spice levels from 1-10 or just ask if you want it American spicy or Indian spicy. 🤣 The owners are very sweet and import their beer from India. I also love they offer American kids meal items (like chicken tenders and fries) so my husband and I can still go enjoy some great Indian food. The butter chicken, tikka masala, chicken 65, and the fried dumplings coated in spicy sauce (can’t recall the name, are all out of this world. Others here have mentioned it is some of the best Indian in the area!

ok, my beautiful and wonderful people. first I am looking for a spot in charlotte. now back to review. I have met indian cuisine in Philly, Jersey, all of new york, Georgia, South Carolina and now both sides of North Carolina. I tried in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Sarangi was on point with everything we ordered food network should hire me. The appetizers momos the Indian dumplings look just like all their Asians cousins. that fantastic Chilli sesame dipping sauce awesome. my mine course as always the ever so brilliant Chicken Tikka Masala. Sarangi is not the fine dining place, of which I love. it is also not a indian dive. The beer of which my server introduced me to was named TAG and indian lager that tasted much like the lagers here in the U.S. good beer good eats and last on the list. A remarkable growing to my top 5 greatest Naan I ever had this garlic Naan was the top of the line necessary to accompany evey dish on the menu. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant to try a lot more Napolese dishes. in closing students of charlotte gang night, hot date, date night for parents or older. satisfy your pleasure with food that you can take home and tease. your co workers with and enjoy the experience that is Sarangi.

This is hands down the best Indian restaurant in Charlotte. The taste, variety, and price point is bang on. The spice levels are just the right amount. Absolutely loved this place, it is hygienic and spacious too. The owner is very polite and humble. After trying so many Indian restaurants, this definitely wins. This place is literally a hidden gem!

We loved it! We had butter chicken, Hakka noodles, veal and garlic naan. Everything is super tasty! Plenty of spices, we were able to bring home some leftovers. Service was very much like a home environment. We had the owner, and at least 2 others come by and check on us. Can't wait to go back!

Had dinner at Sarangi tonight 2/23/23 with my buddy. We had chili chicken momos and garlic nan for appetizers, chicken vindaloo and butter chicken for the entrees. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. The food presentation was great. The food was delicious. The chicken was tender and juicy. The waiter recommended an Indian beer which was delicious and paired well with the food. A very positive experience. I highly recommend Sarangi. I will be back…often.

What we loved: - decent kids menu. My toddler enjoyed the paneer pakoras - They suggested Nepali Chowmein to us. It was flavorful! Loved it. - the sizzling chilli momo is yumm too. Good portion. Might be a little tangy - Gobi Manchurian -> way too tangy for me. - Pav Bhaji -> Tasted good but again was a little tangy. Next time I’d request them to go light on the sourness. Things to improve: - Sometimes the wait times is huge. It took us about 30 mins to get the food. Appetizers were served towards the end. (No biggie, it’s understandable considering how short staffed they are) - Sourness (3 out of 4 dishes were sour. I’d like an extra sauce or lemon on the side to increase/decrease the sourness based on my preference. - Cost for two people was $60. Might be a little pricey Overall - it’s a nice restaurant! Key is picking the right items from thier menu.

Momos or dumplings were average, however the sauce tasted stale. Hakka noodles were too spicy even after requesting to make it mild. Aloo tikkis were microwaved and later chat was prepared. Restaurant is a bit overrated. Gulab jamun was good. AC was running in full blast and restaurant was like a freezer. we requested, if the AC can be changed and they said yes but nothing happened. Restroom was clean. Lot of free parking. Mango lassi is canned & not freshly prepared.

The most authentic Nepalese food I've ate in Charlotte!!! We called the owner and ordered the food a few days ahead since we were a group of 9. He even woke up early to make sel roti. Everything was so good and reminded me of home. Great service!! 10/10 recommended!!

Had great expectations with the restaurant seeing all the good reviews. The food was horrible, no salt, no flavor. The veg dumplings were tasteless and the sauce that came with it was nothing but chili and water- no flavor whatsoever. The Gobi Manchurian was over fried. And I am not sure how can some restaurants mess up noodles.

Short version: I would go back again despite staffing issues. The food was good. Service. We were greeted with a smile from the server. The person was warm and welcoming. However, there was only one person there to take care of several tables. When we arrived there were already 5 tables (us being the 6th) and there was only 1 person to help all of us. (This was around 6pm). The service was slow because of this, but we were patient having taken notice and not wanting to overwhelm the person. More tables came in after us and someone from the kitchen came out to assist. The server was taking orders, cleaning tables, checking people out, so I'm sure they were overwhelmed. Food: We were offered complimentary soup (a vegetable soup and a chicken soup). The vegetable tasted good, like a regular vegetable soup. The chicken tasted like a chicken and dumpling soup (no dumplings) with a ginger presence. My husband and I ordered an appetizers (Gobi Manchurian), the lamb curry, butter chicken and garlic naan. The Gobi Manchurian doesn't come mild, only medium and hot. It was good, sauced well, but I thought it was a bit overpriced ($11.99) for the portion size. We enjoyed the butter chicken ($14.99) and lamb curry ($17.99), but both had a lot of gravy compared to the amount of meat. Botj were served with rice (ample amount). The garlic naan ($3.99) was really good and there was a lot of it. The butter chicken was my favorite and it was nice and creamy. Heat Temperature of all the food was fresh and hot, not like it had been sitting. Parking: There's lots of free parking available. I went for dinner and there were some street lights out near my car which made it dark, but that's not a reflection of the restaurant, just something to be aware of when you're parking at night.

Last night, I had a great dinner at Sarangi with my friends. We ordered dishes like Jhol Momo, Chicken 65, Chole Bhature, Soya 65, and Samosa Chat. Everything tasted really good and felt like true Indian and Nepali food. The staff were super nice and helpful, making our visit even better. I think Sarangi is the best place for Indian and Nepali food in Charlotte. I'd tell anyone to go there if they want a tasty meal and good service. Highly recommended & definitely going back.

I ordered some appetizers. I started with the chili chicken, samaso chaat, and their aloo tikka. I enjoyed the chili chicken. It was flavorful and tender. My entree was lamb tiki masala with rice and garlic naan. I would go back; the food was delicious.

Good Indian/ Nepali eating place in Charlotte. The service waa very good and quick. The food was nice. Home cooked level taste and simplicity. The spices were very balanced in the Paneer makhani and the Naan was very soft. Will recommend this place.

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good.
