Came up to Charlotte for a sports event and stopped here to eat. Anytime we're in Charlotte this is a must stop and we sadly hadn't been in a few years. We actually left home almost two hours early just to make sure we got there before lunch stopped. The food, beer, and service did not disappoint at all. Absolute deliciousness! Im not sure when we will come back to Charlotte, but I know we will br back here to eat again!

This was our first time at Waldhorn Restaurant. It is an authentic German restaurant from the decor, beers, wine and of course, the food. All the entrees, drinks we ordered were delicious. Granted we couldn't pronounce them, lol! We knocked off a star due to our subpar waitress. Something needs to be said when we need to find you to fill our drinks, need to ask you for small plates for appetizers. It got to the point that another waitress, Renee (a true gem), saw us waiting and came over to tend to our table after she saw we were not being helped. We will not mention the young ladies name as to not embarrass her. Remember, constructive criticism is a good thing since we ALL learn and get better from our mistakes. We highly recommend this place and we will be back..... and Yep, ask for Renee.

You don’t need to go all the way to Helen for German food! The good stuff is right here! So I just went here the other day for my birthday and I have to say the food here is FANTASTIC. I’ve grown up with Czech parents and I have to say a lot of the food is very nostalgic! The food is done perfectly it tastes delicious and it’s unlike anything you will find anywhere nearby! This place truly is a gem! The waitress was also nice enough to give me a free Black Forest cake slice which was also delicious! This is my new favorite place in town and next time I have a special occasion I will be begging my wife to come back here

Absolutely thrilled there’s still a German Restaurant around here. This is such a wonderful family run place with incredible soul satisfying food. We got the Porkschnitzel with spatzle and a small Waldhorn salad and every bit of it was so delicious! I can’t wait to come back again.

I came here last Tuesday evening with my friends for dinner. The food was tasty, the place was clean, and the service was good. I really like the Pretzel Rolls that they have there! Plus they have a Beer Club meet every Tuesday.

My experience was wonderful. My waitress’s name was Lindsay. She gave us excellent service; my appetizers and meal were ordered together but I had ample time to eat my apps. before the meal arrived. She delivered a water before our beers, was knowledgeable of the menu and extremely nice and courteous, other small things she did made her one of the best waiters I’ve had. The food was excellent- plated very well, cooked perfectly, and everything was made with extreme care; Kudos to the cook. I had the Roasted Half Duck, my wife had the Sauerbraten on the lunch menu. Our appetizers were the potato pancakes and the sausage sampler (named differently in the menu). Everything was authentic with appropriate beers and other drinks. Excellent place to eat. You definitely should try. There was a blue tailed lizard in the parking lot that scared my wife. She says it was huge, but it was a normal lizard- I’m telling her it’s indigenous to Germany.

I am traveling through NC visiting some of my colleagues. I found this place via Google and gave it a try. It is a very nice place. Our waitress, Britney was very helpful at explaining the different meals and my friends questions about the beers that they serve. The meals were out quickly and were very delicious. The place was clean and every staff member seemed to enjoy their job. Their pretzel dinner rolls were over the top. I would highly suggest that you stop in for a great dinner if you are passing through this area.

One of my favorite dishes ever is the vegetable strudel from Waldhorn. We have ordered for years and it's fantastic. We haven't found any other German restaurant that offers the same quality of dish or for that matter the same quality of vegetarian option. As a vegetarian this strudel is by far the best German dish that I have had. The pretzel buns and potato pancakes with apple sauce are really good. I also like the Spätzle and all the desserts. Great selection of beers. I can't review any of the meat items, but the no meat items are so wonderful that an hour drive is fully worth it. Ee will continue to visit them as long as we live near Charlotte.

Went to Waldhorn for an Anniversary lunch. The restaurant was extremely clean and sanitary. The waitress was polite and efficient. I decided to order the pumpkin martini and it truly was a nice treat. I highly suggest it to those who are into pumpkin. The whipped creme was delightful. For my meal, I got the Käsespätzle. It was absolutely delicious. I was afraid it might be too heavy, but it was perfect. Not too heavy, not too light. I highly suggest this dish. The bacon really made the flavor too. For dessert, we got the German Chocolate Cake (special of the day). I'm used to German Chocolate Cakes to be incredibly over the top sweet. This one was seasoned perfectly. Just the right amount of sweetness. The strawberry, mint, and whipped creme made a nice refreshing flavour to accompany the cake. I also ordered standard coffee to go with dessert, which accompanied the cake well.

Great German food. The server was nice and helped with a lot recommendations. The portion of food was descent and generously flavored. Four of us ordered two appetizers, two entrees, and one dessert. Enough to share. The only disappointment was the dinner roll which was not as fluffy as I thought it would be. However others were tasty! The fried pork and dessert (ice cream with cream) were highly recommended. It was located in a beautiful courtyard which was nice for photos :-)

The food was good the atmosphere was good the service was good will go again. The only thing I didn't like was the special I got which was the chipotle pork tips with the Spätzle. Other than that the waldhorn was great.

Waldhorn Restaurant - Pineville Excellent food, great portions, stellar service and really cool building and atmosphere. Loved the large pretzel the honey mustard was my favorite though the cheese dip was also excellent. Have to admit, the best potato pancakes I’ve had! Did veal and pork schnitzel, very good but I think the veal was my favorite. It was also the larger portion, though the pork was tender and flavorful. My sampler platter had a sausage that was really good, mild and delicious and a brisket that was very tender with a mild flavor, which is my preference. The red cabbage is very sweet. The sauerkraut is good with a hint of sweetness, perhaps maybe from applesauce? The spaetzel is excellent! I personally love their salad, under the lettuce is a little bit of their potato salad, the carrot salad is my favorite, there’s a cucumber salad and orzo salad. Never had a bad dish. It’s just excellent. Homemade German cooking. We were so full that we didn’t get dessert and his time - but I strongly suggest a visit AND dessert!

I ordered food and an entire Black Forrest cake to pick up for a birthday celebration. Firstly, the food was SO good. The meats were exceptional, best brat I've ever had. The cake was beautiful and delicious. Secondly, they were very accommodating. They even helped me carry it all to my car! Very excited to actually dine in the restaurant next time!!

Wunderbah. We took my German uncle and his wife out to dinner here and he says the food is very authentic. They have some American dishes for anyone not feeling particularly adventurous, but I highly recommend you go with the authentic dishes. Everything was delicious and the service staff is very attentive. We hardly waited any time at all for our food even though we were there during the dinner rush. My one regret was that none of us saved room for dessert ;)

Fabulous. We're a German family. Usually we get food that tastes like it's American made from German recipes. This tastes like authentic German cuisine. I haven't had Maultaschen in years. It was a lovely treat! The ice cream with raspberries and peach schnapps was DIVINE!!! Our server, Dodd, was just the right mix of attentive and humorous. We came from Pennsylvania (family is here in N.C.), but we will be back!

There aren’t many authentic German spots in Charlotte or North Carolina in general. This one has the classics and they’re done fairly well. Among the many options to choose the Jägerschnitzel with Cabbage and Spaetzle is the best thing we’ve tried here.

This place always delivers the goods. I have been coming here for over 20 years and have NEVER been disappointed. My daughter chose the Waldhorn for her masters degree celebration dinner, that's how special we consider it. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is very comfortable and good for enjoying the many great German draft beers. I need to make the trip across town more often. Thanks for the amazing celebration dinner, folks

Finally tried this German restaurant, which has been recommended by several friends. I’m impressed- since it’s pretty hard to find delicious pork in Charlotte except for those BBQ houses. And the price is also reasonable, with a 12oz beer, my total bill incl tips is around $30. For Appetizers, We got 【Sausage Appetizer】which contains 3 kinds of sausages, all made with pork but delicious. 【Potato Pancakes】is crispy, a little bit salty and served with green onion cuts. The salty flavor was neutralized by the apple sauce, which adds some sweetness to the pancakes. For entries, 【Sauteed Pork Cutlets】is like the thin version of Tonkatsu, very delicious! It served with sweet red cabbage and spatzle (taste like cheesy pasta?). Highly recommend this dish. 【Sauteed Trout】is light fried trout with almonds, served with rice. I would say not the best trout I’ve tried… Dessert we had 【Heisse Liebe】Vanilla icecream with warm raspberry sauce and Peach Schnapps! Very impressive.

We had a great early dinner here. Food was outstanding, service was good and the ambiance was ok. From the outside and inside it looks like an old German castle, but because we were here so early it neglected to the buzz.

Excellent! First pic is Schweineschnitzel, which is pork schnitzel, spatzle, red cabbage and brown sauce. 2nd pic is Kartoffelpuffer, which is potato pancakes with applesauce. Service was exceptional and food came quickly. Highly recommend!

I’ve eaten my fair share of schnitzel, here in the states and across the pond in Germany and Waldhorn did not disappoint! Had the jagerschnitzel which was well prepared and a large portion with a double schnitzel. Loved the spatzle and cabbage on the side. Others in my group had the Sauerbraten and wurst plate and loved them. Server was young and new, but performed admirably and rectified all issues with amicable grace and very quickly. Highly recommend!

The food is amazing👍. The outside of the building is more impressive than the inside. You don't feel cosiness inside and the overhead lighting is not very good. It would be better to add lower lighting, like wall sconces😉

We stumbled upon this place when we first moved to Charlotte in 2012. It NEVER disappoints!! Wildhorn Restaurant has an amazing German beer selection, they even have a beer club that you can join...you get a beautiful beer stein, and on Tuesday Beer Club “Stammtisch”, Beer Club Members get all draft beers for $0.75 OFF, as well as a 15% discount on their Dinner Entrée.

Excellent food and service. I hadn’t had veal in years, but it was recommended so I tried it. It was tender, juicy and abundant. The sides were excellent too, especially the German potato salad - which was only second to my mom’s recipe. For me the best thing was the pretzel rolls downed with some good German lager.

Do not go here if you are disabled!!! We arrived with a party of 7 including 5 service dogs, one power wheelchair, one person on forearm crutches, and one person in a boot for an injured foot. We asked to be seated on the patio, and initially they refused because they said there wasn't enough space on the patio. We went outside to discuss our options, and then we talked to a different person who said space on the patio wasn't an issue, but they were worried because there were kids on the patio and we had service dogs. I had to work hard to convince them that our dogs were highly trained service animals and would be fine around kids, and that we were very capable of telling kids not to pet our service dogs. At this point, we mention that our wheelchair user is stuck in the van because someone has parked in the access aisle (the hashed space you're supposed to leave clear next to accessible parking spots), and could we make an announcement to move that car. The lady asks us if he can walk down steps!!!!! We were like no, he's in a power wheelchair. Then she informs us that their patio is not wheelchair accessible. We were really looking forward to German food, but felt completely disrespected as people with disabilities. Do not go here if you have a disability, because you will get poor treatment and discrimination!

They have some good German beers on the menu. Some items on the menu are quite tasty and some weren't too memorable. I've only been there once, so it could have been an off night. Still would definitely be a fun place to visit during oktoberfest. Always excellent to see when management takes the time to respond.

Great food and fast service. The quality was wonderful and the staff was so nice. Very much a German style architecture, makes you feel like you're in a Bovarian Inn. Food is spectacular. I recommend the Bratwurst Vorspeise appetizer and either a main course of Gebratene Ente or of Jägerschnitzel vom Schwein. The beer is top notch wonderful. Speciality drinks and deserts are absolutely fabulous. The location seemed really clean and organized, not over crowded. I did not look at the bathrooms.

I knew I wanted spatzle but was unsure of the protein so I went with her suggestion of Schweitzer schnitzel which was pork stuffed with ham and cheese served over spatzle and green beans with brown sauce. My work got "wiener Art" which was pork cutlet that is breaded and fried over spatzle and red cabbage.
