Excellent hibachi restaurant. Staff is excellent and service is on point. The hibachi chef does a great job and is quite skilled. Gets the guests involved with the standard hibachi show. You get more than enough food and will likely have leftovers to take home. The white sauce is delicious over everything.

Visiting Charlotte this Kabuto is conveniently located near the Sonesta Excutive Park. I wanted a fast healthy lunch to eat at my hotel so I desired to try them. The guy at the bar that took my order was so nice and kind very attentive. They had a vegiterian lunch option which I was excited about. The service was fast and while waiting he offered me a free drink! When the order was bagged very well. He walked around the bar to hand it to me classy rather than give it over the bar. This place looks like a great place to bring a date but also great for a fast work day lunch! The food quality is steller. Next time I am in Charlotte I will be back.

This place is a hit or miss. Most times it’s always things like this visit rice is always hard never cooked properly. Chicken is always bland. The food made my mother and sister stomach hurt very bad. They have decent drinks. Staff is half and half some not professional at all, while others show so much respect and treat you well. I would say I don’t recommend this location when it comes to QUALITY. However it’s still edible and when going out I prefer quality over anything.

First time for myself, the Wife, and a friend from out of town. It was a Wed. evening and only 2 other tables were seated. The Server was quick to ask for our drink order. Like, I hadn't even sat down when she asked. She delivered our beverages quickly and our Chef soon followed. His name was Pancho and he knew how to read the table. No shrimp-tossing. Only the onion Volcano. The strip, chicken and shrimp weekday specials were ordered. The ginger-dressed salad was more of a salad dressing soup. The rice tasted a day old and the noodles were quite firm. Someone I can only assume was the owner/manager lingered in the corner during nearly our entire visit. Pancho told us he'd been a Chef at this location for 7 years. His skills were evident of the same. However, the ingredients he worked with were prepped either a day or two before we dined, or simply of lesser quality. We will not be dining here again, sadly. Quite an underwhelming dining experience overall.

Great appetizers, especially the fried calamari served here. Delicious and flavorful sushi. Our Hibachi chef unfortunately lacked showmanship. For me, Hibachi is all bout the fun, entertaining way to interact and prepare a unique experience w/ a great meal. I've come accustomed to some amazing showmanship when it comes to food entertainment. So our particular Hibachi chef was definitely not one to remember or care to ever be served by again. It's upsetting when you find out after such a poor and negative experience that a 18% gratuity fee is already assessed before you even experience anything. The hibachi chef behind ours with the other group of customers really made us want to move over to the other side and be a part of the entertainment. I would had glady payed more than the 18% if I had that chef inatead. With that said, I ordered the hibachi style seafood delight. The scallops were undercooked, the dish was jus too salty, and the salmon was overpowered by the hibachi sauce. Personally, I dn't care for the hibachi sauce, and next time, I'll definitely ask for the cook to swap it out for the terriyaki instead.

Would give -0 if I could. The waiter (Hispanic petite female with lots of makeup ) was terrible! Attitude sucked and they way she addressed us i quickly told them get her OUT of our face and away from the table she’s either having a bad day or need to switch duties for the day cause SERVING is not one! That was fixed. But outside of that the cook was moving very slow. The rice/ noodles/ vegetables was cold by the time he started preparing the meats. By that time his entertainment/tricks were played out. WE CAME TO EAT. 🥱and overall I understand gratuity but if you’re going to automatically apply that make sure your customers are getting GOOD FOOD, SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE! no matter how big/small the party. Y’all failed !

The server had the best attitude. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Drinks we're watered down by the time the food was done. But as soon as the server got finished. The sester came over to ask if we wanted to-go boxes. As if they were ready for us to leave..I really didn't like feeling like I was being rushed. Other than that service was great

Do not waste your time. Soup was awful, rice was bland, veggies were terrible. Meat was terribly over cooked. Plus the lip on the grill was so low that facing customers it splashes you with hot grease or with the dirty water when cleaning the grill. Didn't even finish my meal because when cleaning the water from scraping the grill splashed into our sauce and food. Probably one of the worst hibachi experiences ever. The only good thing was the chef was funny but that could not make up for the quality. Avoid at all cost.

This place was absolutely fantastic. Our first experience with hibachi and it was out of this world. Our cook was great, very involved and willing to answer questions. My kids (9, 7, 3) had a blast and my hubby (30th birthday) enjoyed the drinks! We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

This will be our last visit to Kabuto. For the last 15 years, we have gone to this or the other location on December 24th for a birthday lunch with between 20-30 people. This year we showed up and were given a dinner menu. Thinking this must be some mistake since we have always gotten lunch and their website clearly still has a lunch menu, I asked the hostess what was going on. She informed me that they only serve lunch on Mon-Thurs and only dinner Fri-Sun. I asked to speak to her manager. He came out and was completely rude. Didn't care that his website was wrong and basically told me I could leave with our group of 23. We were already seated and decided to stay, most of us split meals. Way too expensive for what you get. Cook performance was mediocre at best. Difference of lunch to dinner is you get noodles (tasteless) and salad (iceberg with either ginger or ranch dressing) in addition. Supposedly you get more protein but the cook mixed in mine with the kids meals so we all got the same portion. They also reduced the amout of shrimp sauce they give you. The tiny plate is ridiculous. Along with all that, we had to keep our coats on due to not running heat and the place was dirty and run down. Never, never again.

Top Notch Hibachi service. I went for the $24.99 deal. Decent price for what all came with it. The cook was very entertaining and did a wonderful job keeping the whole table intrigued. They would have been five stars easy but their Saké was a bit watery, still was good but wasn't as strong as most. I got the 🍗, 🥗, 🍲, and 🍚. Great timing on the order of food cook also. Would highly recommend coming in for a great experience. Oh yea there was an awesome Samurai suit in the front that set the vibe quite nicely.

This is the second time I’ve been to this location. I ordered chicken and shrimp, hibachi entrée. It came with the soup and salad asas well as noodles. The food itself was good. I thoroughly enjoyed it However, this is the second experience where I’ve came and they’ve gotten my order wrong the Koch will go through and make sure he repeats everyone order and yet my order will still be cooked wrong as then he will forget what I had, I ordered shrimp and he cooked everybody’s food and didn’t even give me shrimp so I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to bring it. I also gave my card and it took over 10 minutes for me to get it back. I asked for water from the waitress And had to wait 10 minutes just to get a refill. The only thing that keeps me coming back is that the food is good hopefully they work on customer service.

The food was good, but I have had better. They can use a little more season overall and wish their noodles were different.

First time being here, the experience was amazing!!. I went with my family members for my birthday. Carlos was Extremely the best chef in all the hibachi restaurant 🙌🏾. His food was amazing, I had the hibachi dinner with scallops and salmon. He was a chef and great performer, he had the right energy and everything and he's just a teen. I was very pleased with the service and food, we were short of no tricks, from the beginning to the end with the onion volcano and fire sticks. At the end they sang happy birthday for me. So that was not expected and made me feel special, thank you @Kabuto Japanese Steakhouse.

The food was ah-mazing. The atmosphere was very cold considering we went on the coldest day of the year 12/23/22 our mothers 70th birthday 🥳. They did advise us that the heat could not keep up with the outside weather. Our server was not as friendly. I would recommend this place, just go when weather is right.

I genuinely love visiting Kabuto, not for the food, although, the food IS good... But I *adore* catching a drink at the bar and ordering sushi from the ever-accommodating chef. Although, I never order off the menu, my odd requests and custom rolls are consistently crafted with care. I sometimes order a side of dumplings, fried rice, or garlic noodles because I think they're a real value. I have never been seated at a table because I tend to dine alone... So my review is based solely on the sushi bar service. I also want to mention the superior bartender, Kendall. Even though I don't visit Kabuto often, she remembers my name and greets me warmly when I arrive. Her sunny smile genuinely makes my day. If you aren't going to Kabuto with a large party or celebrating an event, consider sitting in the small, intimate bar area. There's a few, quiet booths. Even when the main restaurant is packed with parties, the service in the bar area is spectacular. So says I.

The ONLY thing I can say about this place is the sushi was good. First off they did tricks with raw egg yolk! NOT COOL! Can you say Salmonella flying everywhere! The rice and vegetables are not fried because they add a lot of water to each one. The shrimp looked like it was undone even when I had the cook keep ours on longer and it was still chewy. Sauces were very, very strong! Tables are very close so you could reach out and touch the table in the room next door. The waiter had too much cologne on so you smelled him a mile away. Definitely not the Kabuto's at home!

Ate here for my birthday and I must say this place exceeded my expectations. The location was nice and quiet. The server was nice and the food was inexpensive for the amount that you’ll receive. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. The cocktails were strong…. I’ll definitely be coming back lol. Special recognition goes to our chief ANTHONY! Thank you for the delicious food and keeping us entertained the entire time. We really enjoyed EVERYTHING about this experience.

The waitress and the cook are all very nice. The food are great (not like some very salt with a lot of soy sauce). 😋 The amount of the food is HUGE! The price is very fair (especially during Monday thru Thursday they have specials).
