The contemporary ambience with lighting fixtures and classic dining settings plays a part in your experience here . Everything we tried was delicious ! My favorites were the octopus & lamb chops! Absolutely impeccable service and food. Service was top notch even during COVID and Charlotte restaurant week. Great cocktail list and good wine by the glass options/prices. Gnocchi is to die for

Absolutely phenomenal service, food and drinks! An all rounder. We didn't make a reservation but were able to sit at the bar and we were so glad we did. We got looked after by Taylor who was absolutely amazing at conversation, drinks and recommendations. She recommended drinks as we both had not been here before and I got the Bourbon based cocktail with raspberry puree. I don't remember what it was called but it was perfection. She recommended an IPA for my companion. We decided on the bar bites rather than a bigger dinner and the pork sliders do not disappoint not do the truffle fries with aoili. Do not hesitate to go here 🤗

If you haven’t tried this place out in SouthPark than you are truly missing out! My BF and I have been going here on Saturdays lately for evening drinks but never had the food until our last visit. The food was so delicious, flavorful and made to perfection! You also can’t beat the ambience that this place gives! Service has always been on par every time we visit as well. Everyone from the hostess as you walk in to the bartenders and the waiters are so genuine and polite, they truly create a great experience that will make you fall I love with it! Again, would highly recommend this place to visit and try out!

Went there during the Charlotte Restaurant week. Great value and portion. But the main course (filet and salmon) are not as good as I expected. Other course and dessert are great.

Amazing! The food and ambiance was great. I had the octopus and the Guajillo cured pork tenderloin and both dishes were delicious. Very satisfied with the portions and presentation of the food. The whiskey wishes cocktail was absolutely fire.

Went during Queens Feast in Charlotte. There were 4 courses that were amazing! The Heirloom Salad was light and so refreshing. A great play on sweet and salty. The Duck Confit pasta and the salmon that followed was everything. For dessert the light and small lemon tart was perfect! Very nice cocktail options were also available.

Food is good but the portions are for children. I am not a big portion eater but after an appetizer and meal, I left hungry. In addition, the bar is fairly limited if you are a bourbon drinker.

We have been talking about going to Bar Marcel for awhile. It was more than worth it. They have a fantastic menu. We started with the grilled octopus then had the venison and the short ribs accompanied with a delicious cabernet called Hoopla. We finished the meal with their signature appetizer, Paris to Breste. Our server Melissa was extremely personable and worth the extra tip we gave her. We loved Bar Marcel so much, that half way through dinner, we booked another reservation for next week to check out the rabbit and the ox tail pasta dishes.

Service was great and the food was decent. Parking was not easy and the overall ambiance was ok. Feels like they try to maximize the space to get as much seats as possible.

Wow! What a great meal we had, and the cocktails were excellent. Service was great and our server was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Only thing is, parking is at a premium, but you can park at the Barnes and Noble about a block and half and then just walk over.

Genuine and welcoming atmosphere in this place. Our server Jerome was the best, very attentive and friendly. Food is delicious as always. Carrot soup reminded me of something from my childhood. Highly recommend bar Marcel to visit and try out cocktails and food. 10 out of 10

The food was good. Our Radichio salad was wilted. Very wilted. Normally the leaves are crisps. It is one of my favorite I eat it often. I told Jerome our waiter and also mentioned that I was not expecting another one. I don't like sending food back. The waiter then told me it was fine all evening and that other tables had no problems with it. That was rude. We got our main course and it was good. We had the zucchini pasta and wild boar pasta. Presentation was nice. For dessert we had a Paris Brest. That was not a Paris Brest. It was closer to a cheese cake. The hazelnut filling was good but that was about it. It is a pricey for what it is in my opinion. The service was not pleasant. My friend's parents happened to be there and got us our first round of drinks. Our waiter never mentioned it. That's a faux pas again on his behalf. The atmosphere is beautiful so I might give it another go.

We had reservations for Valentines Day. We walk into the full Restaurant and as we walk in the hostess indicated that due to flooding in the restroom they were canceling our reservation. They were allowing everyone else to order , eat and continue their experience but not us?! Either clear the restaurant out and be consistent or allow us the same privilege?! If it’s a health code violation for anyone to eat with flooded restrooms be consistent!! Make everyone leave or honor our reservations on Valentine’s of all days. We have never been to Bar Marcel and we won’t ever be back. There was absolutely no concern or accommodation for the fact that this was a special day!!

If I could give 10 stars... This was my first visit and I'm plotting to get back next weekend. I can't say enough. The service is top notch. The food and drink are the best I've had in a while. Looking forward to making Bar Marcel my new favorite spot!

Interior was lovely albeit tightly packed. The bar was fully stocked and the cocktail menu was extensive and everything we tried was excellent and well balanced. The food was superb, especially the oxtail and salmon.

Great atmosphere, great quality food, service was rushed as we had a reservation that they accepted at 8pm for 14 people. Braised octopus was delicious.

We love coming here. Came with friends last night and had a wonderful time. The moment you walk in you feel so welcome. Bailey our server was AMAZING!!! Food and wine was wonderful. Still my fave restaurant in Charlotte not just for the food and wine but for the atmosphere and the friendly staff.

We reserved a table and arrived a bit early. Booth was ready for us in no time. It even had pillows. Very nice ambience here. The lighting is elegant. Staff was attentive and pleasant. We met with another couple and received prompt service. Drinks and apps came out in a timely manner. The lobster bisque was excellent, even if served in a peculiar bowl. I ordered the short rib, pictured, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Would definitely recommend. 👌

Tried this place for restaurant week and I do believe we got our money's worth. Presentation was excellent and made up for smaller portions---definitely quality over quantity.
