Hotel room was great! There was one incident where our next door neighbors were getting loud, so I went downstairs to the front desk and talked with Chan and Lauren and they were amazing! Helped resolve my situation quickly!! Glad I could leave a good review for GREAT service.

My husband, my dog, and myself stayed here for 3 days/2 nights. Although we did not utilize the pool it looked clean and smelled like the ocean. The elevators did not smell bad like in most places, the hallways were very clean. The room was immaculate well stocked, and in great condition. The bed was the bed was a little on the harder side but that is just a matter of my preference. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant was clean. The exterior was clean. We had no issues with any of the staff while we were there. Our dog felt welcomed and comfortable. All-in-all a wonderful experience and I would definitely visit again.

The location is excellent and the renovations are modern. We stayed in a king room, and this room definitely has design flaws. The air conditioner is positioned so that the air blows directly on the pillow area of the bed. It was difficult to get any sleep at all with air AC kicking on and off and blowing on our faces. The bed should be closer to the bathroom and the sofa should be next to the window and the HVAC system. The service was great and the room was clean.

Horrible! Writing a very honest review to warn people of the state of this hotel. When booking I did not get an accurate feel of how bad things are here or I would've made sure to avoid this hotel. I was very close to leaving and finding better accommodations which is a 1st and I have stayed at various star hotels. Pro- Excellent location Cons- Cleanliness, amenities, air quality on some floors, but 1st and foremost Cleanliness! Our 1st room was so dirty that it seemed like all they did was change the sheets. The floors were sticky and nothing was cleaned. They did not supply enough towels for our 4 guests and when asked we never received any new ones. Thankfully my children were visiting with family at another hotel for a couple of days so we didn't have to keep begging for common items. For this price they should be ashamed to even welcome guests into this place. Of course there is a shortage of staff (everywhere) but if you cannot even clean the rooms properly they should limit guests to the staff available. Our 2nd room was at least acceptable enough for us to finish off our stay without leaving. We considered the pool when booking but would not dare step foot in there. The water did not look clean and there was a sock that I'm sure will still be there once we check out. The icing on the cake was housekeeping knocking on the door at 9am on checkout day. For this price please book somewhere else unless the location is all you are worried about.

Complete lack of security. Vehicle was broken into. Happens so frequently that they pretty much have cleaning it up and reporting it down to a science. Problem is corporate offices takes NO responsibility for the damage / theft. They have 'Roving' security that is useless at best. Do not leave ANYTHING in your vehicle. Better yet, stay somewhere else.

I am a resident of SouthPark and we lost power on Saturday July 30th. On the morning of the 31st we still had no power. I called the hotel early Sunday morning and told them my situation and that we had 2 dogs and asked if they had any rooms available and how soon could they get us in and the lady at the front desk, Stephanie) said she can get us in right away. Despite Loosing power and loosing all the food in the freezer and fridge, Stephanie brought light to our situation. The hotel and the hospitality was amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you!

What a disappointing experience. This is NOT a 4 star hotel. I was in town for a conference and decided to stay here instead of the conference hotel, thinking this would be a treat. The decor is cheesy and cheap. Upon checking into my room, part of the cheap plastic chandelier fell onto my companion's head. The paint on the walls was haphazardly touched up and the bed linens were thin. The thermostat was difficult to use and a fan blew air loudly at all times with no option to turn it off. A cheap coffeemaker. A weird smell in the halls. The doors to the rooms are so incredibly thin that you can hear every passing footstep, crying child and boisterous drunk person as if they are right next do you. My companion and I were startled awake on multiple occasions by extreme noise in the halls. Not to mention you can hear sirens and car noise loudly through the windows which do not appear to be sealed well as they are filled with condensation between the panes. I approached a lobby coffee station in the morning but was immediately descended upon by a staff member who told me I needed to purchase the entire breakfast buffet to enjoy one 1 small to-go coffee. BUT this wasn't even the most disappointing part. The fire alarm went off at 1am, forcing everyone to evacuate. Then it went off AGAIN at 9am when I was trying to sleep in after struggling to fall back asleep, forcing everyone out again. It was incredible jarring and disorienting. When I approached the front desk the next day looking for accommodations due to a disrupted night's sleep, as well as reassurance that the system would not malfunction again that night, I was basically interrupted and told the system was functioning perfectly and therefore no considerations would be offered, but as a special treat I could have (1) breakfast buffet the following morning. For what I paid for an upgraded 4-star hotel experience, this was not satisfactory for me. I checked out early and rebooked at a nicer hotel nearby. Prior to approaching the front desk I tried to communicate with Marriott corporate via web and phone about my disappointing experience, but was instructed to talk to the front desk, so I had to leave my conference at lunch to hash it out. It was a bummer to not be assisted or treated like a valued guest. My conference hotel is also a Marriott, and there is ALSO no complimentary coffee in the lobby and nowhere to fill up my water bottle. The paid coffee bar was not staffed for our 9am meeting on Friday. This is one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and I've experienced bed bugs before! I will be avoiding Marriott brands in the future

No bell hop service. Breakfast food was cold. Dinner food was excellent. Excellent furniture in rooms. Cable television was terrible. Major networks like CBS and ABC would go out during long periods of day. Internet TV was nonexistent even though advertised. Had to choose you tube for alternative services.

OK Stay... Kind of a rough start. No recognition of loyalty status when I picked up hardcopy key. Was able to use a suite night award, but the first "suite" they put us in had not been serviced, or someone had randomly used it since it had been serviced. There was a dirty hand towel w/eye solution on the bathroom sink and other random things. The coffee station was used. There were random snacks and indentions on the made bed. Anyways... they got us a new room. The guy who took care of that and brought us our key was the bright spot. He was super nice and helpful. I wish I had gotten his name. The new room was nice enough and clean. There was a spot for a refrigerator, but no refrigerator, which seems odd for the nicest tier of rooms in the hotel. The club lounge was kind of disappointing as well, but works if you need a quick snack. Would probably have given 4 stars if the initial room wasn't so bungled. Probably a serviceable property if you're doing business in the area. Probably the last time we'll try a staycation in Southpark vs Uptown.

Great location and super great service. During our stay the heater went out for 2 nights and there was a fire alarm triggered on the 3rd night of our stay but the staff always made sure to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. Would return for sure!

We had a company meeting at this property and it was a bad experience. Morgan Bowden does not return emails, messages when attempting to finalize bills. Rooms were not serviced, stains on elevators, no shampoo etc. I am a lifetime titanium elite member and this is the worst property to hold meetings or stay.

Staycation birthday celebration! I would like to shout out Lauren at check in and Omeida at check out! They both made me feel special during my stay! Thank you for the complimentary breakfast, Omeida!

My stay at the Renaissance hotel was pleasant for the most part. The hotel itself was beautiful and well kept. We were allowed early check in as they had a room ready for us, but we did call ahead. It was exactly as pictured on google. In regards to the way it was stocked, there could be improvement. The complimentary body wash was empty, there was no hand soap even in bar form. The remote had weak batteries so everything with the tv was frustrating. Other than these small things, the beds were comfy and the room was clean. As far as the package, the staff didn’t seem to be fully educated on it. Breakfast and restaurant staff especially. When mentioning it, they were confused and so getting the check and leaving was complicated. We get a gift card for shopping per night, when we checked in we had to wait for a manager to issue them and was only given one, we had to request the second one on our last day because it wasn’t given. However, the staff at the desk was willing to help and got it done, she even remembered the late check out and changed our check out time to accommodate the package. Service requests are ignored on the app, but when calling to make them they do so quickly to accommodate them. All in all, we would go back next year if this package is offered again.

We stayed here Memorial Day weekend, and our truck ended up being broken into. They did not offer any reimbursements for the damage for our truck nor for the night we stayed at the hotel. I do not recommend staying here. If you do choose to stay, do not park on the side or back of the building and take all valuables out of your car! The white lady at the front desk was rude and had terrible customer service.

We stayed one night at Charlotte South Park Renaissance hotel. It is located near to several shopping and sightseeing locations worth the visit – also within walking distance. There are a lot of business travelers, which has a very busy and lively atmosphere. The pool and gym area are clean, tidy and really worth using. Also, the main space just behind the lobby with many seating options to sit down and spend time in is optimal for working or reading. The Marriott Lounge does offer some amount of privacy but does seem to be lacking a certain amount of oversight from the hotel's side. When we went for breakfast, there was not cutlery and it took some time after our request before somebody showed up to restock. Overall, still a great visit. Will be happy to be back!

I know for a fact I left my watch in my room. I followed the directions on the website for lost and found. Sent the email and NEVER even got a response. I called the location and the service desk girl was short and snappy. She told me that the front desk had nothing to do with housekeeping to follow the direction Ms on the website. No manager responded to my attempts to talk to them either. One of those maids has a very nice watch she’s wearing.

Overall the hotel is nice. Within walking distance to the mall. However, cleaning staff is terrible. There were complimentary waters in the room but mine had already been opened by previous guest. Notified the front desk and all they said was “oh.” Also found hairs in the towels.

I enjoyed the location. The rooms were fine besides the shower hot water not ever getting truly “hot”. But man…what a let down customer service wise. Out of literally any hotel I’ve stayed at the service was just terrible. I almost seemed like an inconvenience asking any question. During check in I was handed a room key with no directions to my room. Nothing about the hotel…just nothing besides a key. I went to the bar and got the same sort of vibe…even though there was maybe 2 or 3 people in it. Same women that checked me in also checked me out and there was no “thank you for staying with us, or did you enjoy your stay?”. I said thank you after I got my receipt and got a “sure.” Come on now…I’d take a 2 star hotel all day over this with better customer service. First and only visit I’ll be having here.

Our room had very little toilet paper and kleenex, and no bathroom cups. When we called down the female on the evening shift said she would send them up but never did. Room was a bit stuffy and humid so we had to keep the thermostat very low. Great shower, super lighting in the room, starbucks coffee in room was good. Gentleman who checked us in - afternoon and evening shift - was very friendly and accommodating. Great, fast, modern elevators. Wish they offered free breakfast and all day free coffee.

The front desk, and actually, ALL employees are what made this a fantastic stay! The room and ammenties are nice, too. I was there for a work meeting. Ty, at the front desk, made it his mission to make my stay the best ever, and I will not forget his thoughtfulness! Also, LeShawn was quite helpful in getting me a copy of my folio, once I left. She was much more accommodating than the Marriott/Bonvoy customer service! Thanks, guys! Also, quick shout out to the culinary team that provided food for us in our meeting room, and was able to accommodate our many special requests. Without hesitation, and a smile on their face, they brought us whatever it was we needed. Thanks to you too! Now, when I travel for personal reasons, instead of work, I will more than happily stay here again!

We have stayed here many times and have always loved visiting. This time we stayed to celebrate our anniversary and were hoping for the same type of experience. We stayed in a room that had an indoor balcony and there were people in the atrium area most of the night, they were very loud and noisy. We turned on two noise machines to drown out the noise. This didn't help. When checking out the receptionist asked about our stay and we mentioned the noise, they didn't even acknowledge what we said. This was a terrible experience.

Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a hotel. This web site will compare hundreds of hotel sites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the highest rated in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't regret it. Superb! Customer service always exceeds our expectations. Friendly staff. Great rooms and amenities! Room service is great; food is delicious! Beautiful and welcoming! Excellent-everything and everyone is simply fabulous!

We drove over 12 hours to get here and this place completely drained us. 1st night we arrived my wife spotted a bed bug on the bed so we immediately called the front desk and 2 managers arrived within a few minutes(Dakota & Jake). They looked in back of one of the beds, looked at each other with a terrified look and said that we quickly needed to leave the room and gather our belongings. They were super apologetic and promised us another room and that they would fully refund us what we paid for the trip. I honestly never would have asked for a full refund but it was offered to me and I expected them to honor it. They moved us to another room that only had 1 king size bed(We originally had 2 Queen beds because we had our 2 kids with us) I had to sleep on a very uncomfortable curvy couch because although my child is much smaller, he absolutely would have fallen off. My other kid luckily still fits in a playpen. So my wife and oldest son on the bed and me on the couch. You would think that would be the worst part right? Nope..After being exhausted from traveling there and finally getting the kids into bed, the fire alarm goes off a little after midnight. We have to wake up our exhausted kids, and run downstairs until the fire dept cleared everyone to go back in. No answer on what caused the alarm except "They are investigating it" Go back upstairs, put the kids to bed and my wife and I spent about 2 hours going thru our luggage and bags to make sure there weren't any bugs that crept inside any of our bags. We finally fall asleep and get about 3 hrs of sleep and are awaken by another fire alarm around 8:30am. After the night we had, we were hoping to sleep in a bit. Renaissance Charlotte had other plans. At this point we felt we indeed deserved a full refund. My wife went downstairs and spoke with one of the managers that helped us the night before and he assured us that we would get the full refund discussed but that we needed to contact Expedia to then contact them to confirm the story We contacted Expedia, told them what happened and one of the managers confirmed Expedia did contact them and she confirmed our story with them. Later on that day, they give us a room we originally asked for. The managers checked the beds for us to make sure there were no bugs and all was good. They even signed me up for Marriott rewards for a future stay. Since we had 3 different rooms, I eventually realized a pair or my sneakers were missing and it must have been left in one of the rooms. Let the manager know and of course, no sneakers found. I contacted Expedia Wed since it had been several days and nobody had contacted me about the refund they originally offered. Expedia called the front desk and the story then changed to "Well we refunded the first night only" That is not what was offered to me and I explained that I originally never asked for a refund but they were clearly so embarrassed when it happened, my wife and I were told we would get a full refund. It came to a point where I was so drained by this place that I didn't even want to discuss the refund anymore. I was asked to email the manager in charge and I didn't want to bother at that point. I never had an experience where I was dying to leave a hotel to come home. This place completely ruined a trip my wife and I had planned for months. We originally chose it because at the time, the reviews were great and the pictures made it look glamarous. Our 1st family roadtrip with our 2 kids will be one to remember but not for good reasons. This trip I lost my favorite sneakers, a whole night of my trip, and hours of going back and forth with Expedia & their front desk. If anyone sees my past reviews, I very rarely review anything negatively. With the climate that we are in, I'd hate for people to lose business but this experience was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Perhaps since I wasn't rude and did my best to be understanding, they felt the could take advantage.

Positives: clean room, beautiful location, nice fitness center and convenient cafe to grab coffee. Negatives: no fridges in rooms. A lot of construction and maintenance with elevators was going on. Disappointed in customer service - I went to use the fitness center, I got a great workout in and then was excited about using the sauna (very rare occurrence for me!) but it was locked up. I went to ask the front desk to unlock it and the person I spoke with seemed annoyed and unwilling to help, she kind of brushed me off. I wait for over 30 mins and no one came to unlock it. I had to go back to the front desk and this time spoke with a different young lady and she immediately helped me so that was nice but it was a frustrating experience overall because of the bad experience with the first person I spoke to at the desk and the long wait to finally get someone willing to help me.

The room was nice, clean & modern. Only thing that I wasn't really a fan of was the sliding patio door on the bathroom. I didn't get any drinks from the bar/restaurant but did find their food really overpriced for what they were offering. Menu was pretty weak in my opinion, definitely better off eating elsewhere...

  • 4/5 Douglas R. 2 years ago on Google
Great place... fun and quirky. Like many others, they are struggling to find enough staff so some services are slow. The bed sheets had been bleached so much that there were holes.... that doesn't help. But I get it.... use it until you cannot!

Fantastic location. It stops there. Disappointed with the lack of maintenance and cleaning that was very apparent. From garbage cans at the front entrance and at elevators not being emptied. Dirty sticky floors not being moped in elevator to hallways not being vacuumed. Staffing issues with service in cafe were evident and lack of table cleanup. Due to covid protocol cleaning staff were not cleaning rooms unless you scheduled it. We spent three days and asked for a resupply of coffee for the room but never received it. Definitely needs some management attention. On a positive note we are now at another location the JW Marriott and it's another world tops marks from the minute we arrived here. Looking forward to providing more detail on this location.

It was very good when I was there 7 years ago. This year I went again, I believe it is very expensive for what they give. The food it was good. Many closed area at the inside garden area, it was open only the bar area. Very good tips the security at the parking lot at night time. Very good the girl with the long black hair at the bar at night shift.

This hotel was great! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my mothers needs. Jared was a wonderful help to us and extremely friendly. The room was very nice and spacious and had hard wood floors. The bathroom was clean and the shower was simply wonderful. I would recommend staying here if you need a room while I Charlotte. The hotel was also conveniently located next to several restaurants.

Excellent Customer service! Extremely nice Marriott property in a beautiful area of Charlotte! Rooms are well appointed and clean! Excellent for Business Purposes and your average traveler!

The hotel was posh,. I was extremely pleased with the room. The bed was soft, the room was clean, an overall wonderful day experience. The hotel sits in a quiet business area and there is a business square within walking distance. The bathroom was bright and the details in the hotel room were appealing to the eye. The mini fridge is hidden in the dresser behind a faux door. The room was stocked with Starbucks coffee, liquid creamer, hot tea bags and Aveda travel size bath products. There is a bar and restaurant within the hotel. There is an indoor pool, no hot tub, a gym, outdoor tables, a fire pit and other amenities available. Would recommend staying here.

We booked this as a treat for our kids as a staycation. $217 for one night was a steep price but we thought it would be special. It wasn't. Our booking was for a 2 queen bed room with a guaranteed atrium view. (I've slept in a queen bed for years and these weren't queens, they were full size.) Now don't get me wrong, the atrium is beautiful. The only problem is that we had a view of the 1st floor roof and the parking lot. We saw the atrium facing rooms from the atrium and they looked nice. The kids were very disappointed. We were also expecting either something modern or classic. What it actually is though, is an outdated hotel that desperately needs updates to the bathrooms and AC. On our way out we brought up our concerns to the front desk and there was just some awkward silence followed by asking if we wanted our "folio" emailed to us. They did not want to address our concerns. All in all, would not recommend.
