The first room I checked into had a bad musty odor. Neil the front desk supervisor was kind and very helpful and chose to move me to another room. That room smelled like someone had been smoking a lot and was intollerable. The 3rd room I was checked into smelled fine. I had thought this room was great until I stepped into a bathroom covered in water. I went downstairs and Neil offered to move me again, but after 3 moves I just wanted the problem addressed and stay in that room. Neil made sure that was done. I went to the bar to have a drink and met Will. Will was very nice and a good communicator as a bar tender should be. It was apparant he was new as he didn't know where the specialty glasses were. It seems that no sufficient training was provided to him. Walking through the hotel, there seemed to be little misses all over the place as if there is no one paying attention to detail. There were several spot lights out in the ceiling of the lobby. There was a sticky stain to the right of the main lobby elevators. I saw laundry equipment that was out of order. The far elevator of the main building display was 1 floor off from displaying the correct floor and created minor confusion. The bottom drawer of the dresser in the living room was broken and hanging down on the right hand side. Seems like this property has tremendous potential, but seems to be governed under lazy unobservant senior management. The bar was also bright and not what you'd expect for a bar.

My wife and I were blown away at the size, cleanliness, and quality of the room we stayed in! It was a suite with a good sized separate living area and separate room with bed. Also a decent sized kitchenette area with decent counter space and sink for a hotel suite. Microwave and refrigerator were included in ours. I've read so many negative reviews about the elevators and parking but neither was a problem or issue for us. The good parking fills up quick after that your stuck with their overflow parking lot/garage which is right next door to the hotel but there was always plenty of parking. As far as the elevator if one wasn't working we didn't notice as we never waited long for the elevator to open. The best thing about this Doubletree is the location! It's literally right next to the South Park Mall you can walk to it. Across the street is even more restaurants and shops to go to. Everything is so close and convenient! We would definitely stay here again our next time in Charlotte.

This hotel is in a spectacular neighborhood with incredible shopping and restaurants! It's near a wonderful park as well! However, the interior is very dated. The rooms are in need of a remodel. The room had a kitchenette that was very handy for a longer stay. My 2 star rating is for the smell. My room smelled like stale cigarette smoke and old cooked food. It was gross! There were stains in the bathtub and toothpaste reminents on the mirror. There was pink mold in the bathroom grout. When I turned on the AC, the fan made a loud clanking/humming noise. It looked like the cover was bent and falling off of it. The bathroom fan also made a loud humming noise that just added to the whole loud, smelly experience. 😳 Lastly, as I was sitting in bed, I heard the people in the next room... Let's just say it left little to the imagination. I could also hear someone walking in the room above me. This hotel needs a RE-FRESH ASAP! The stale cigarette smell was the biggest problem in my room. I tried to cover it with spraying Lysol to no avail.

Had a great stay on this beautiful property. Plenty of places to shop and to eat within walking distance. The balcony’s are a great place to unwind after a long day or go sit down by the pool. DoubleTree cookies always for the win! The staff was very friendly and professional. The lobby and other areas on the ground are clean and well kept. The room itself was very clean and very comfortable! Haven’t slept that well in a long time! Couple downsides that are rather minor otherwise would have been all 5 stars. Finding an ice machine on the 3rd floor was impossible. We walked all the way around and couldn’t find one. Went to first floor where the signage leads you to all the conference rooms whereas the ice is actually on the other side of the elevator near the exercise room. The signage or a guide as to which floors it’s on would makes the search a lot easier. The air conditioning also makes a loud click when it turns on and there is no option to keep the fan steady through the night to drown out the neighbors who are “enjoying the hotel”…probably first night away without kids. Either way, it is a nice place to stay the evening or 2. Wouldn’t mind a return visit if needed.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Double Tree Suites by Hilton - South Park. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. This hotel surpassed my expectations, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. What truly sets this hotel apart is the fantastic room. The room was spacious, clean, and tastefully designed. The bed was cozy, and I enjoyed a peaceful and restful night's sleep. In conclusion, my stay at the Double Tree Suites by Hilton - South Park was fantastic. The room, outstanding service, and convenient location contributed to a memorable and comfortable stay. Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience.

Ideal location with quick access to the mall and a lot of other places for food, shopping and entertainment. The hotel was nice and our suite was spacious with a great view of the pool. The bar was one of my favorites. Tyrone was extremely personable and was enjoyable to sit and talk to. He is an asset to this hotel and made us very happy with his hospitality and great conversation. We would/will definitely stay here again! I would say the only downside here is being able to hear people walking in the hall or the room above us. Not a huge issue but I noticed it a little bit. Even still, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here.

Stayed here for a week with my family. Never were any towels at the pool or fitness center, couldn’t even get any to our room when we called. Dryer in the laundry doesn’t work at all. Phone in room didn’t work. Old trays of food left in the hallway for 3-4 days at a time. Only good thing about this hotel was that it was in a good location, near shopping and dining amenities. I would stay at a nearby hotel but not this one.

You have the rudest nastiest representative working your weekend shift at your hotel. She says no managers are available, but when I call corporate and they contacted her she told corporate she was the manager, I'm sure she did not realize they had me on the line. I do not understand the logic in lying to your customers but whoever the manager is needs to handle this. Furthermore, the issue I have is still not resolved. Someone from this hotel needs to contact me who knows what they are doing. Otherwise I'd strongly advise against anyone staying here.

My husband was doing some contracting work in the area so,my self, and two children stayed here along with him for almost two weeks. They have a sign up in the room stating that their not going to have housekeeping come unless you request it so your not “disturbed” which is a complete excuse to just not have to be out money on their part. I requested towels and housekeeping one morning come back around 5:00 after we were finished with the pool and my husband was on the way back from a long day of work to neither done! Along with that on the same day, there were no towels out by the pool. When I requested towels I was told basically it’s not going to happen right now because the house keeper is working by her self. So I spent that entire day begging for someone to bring me a towel! I also saw numerous different maids working so that was not true either. I called and told them again that I need towels and I want housekeeping to come tomorrow. The next day it was 12:00 and no signs of housekeeping so when I saw a lady cleaning in the hall I asked her if she was going to come to my room, she looked so confused she had a list in front of her with out my room number on it. She was so nice and cleaned my room anyway and seemed frustrated with management as well not letting her know. Then our key stopped randomly working my husband again coming home from a long day had to walk the long walk around to the front desk to be met with an attitude by one the girls working the desk. When he explained the key isn’t working she asked for his ID he told her it’s locked in the room, her response was “ I don’t know what to tell you, I don’t recognize you” that’s when another man working there stepped in and did HER job even though he didn’t recognize him! Multiple times I would ask for towels through out the stay and have to call a second time because it was going on late mornings and couldn’t get ready with out any clean towels and washcloths. The final straw was today. I saw a huge roach next to our bed as seen in this attached photo! They apologized and knocked one night off, but maybe if their policy wasn’t “we’ll come when you ask” which really is we’ll do it when we feel like it they wouldn’t have roaches. Let’s also be real- some people don’t mind the rooms being left in crumbs or don’t know to keep their dog food sealed (because there are pets aloud) that should be their responsibility to come in everyday and clean those rooms UNLESS someone has a do not disturb sign on the door. I don’t understand this era that the hotels want you to reuse towels, and not clean everyday it’s NASTY! It used to be the standard you didn’t have to make your own bed or sit and wait until the trash was full before deciding to call and request it be took, they just did it! Change your policy here, because clearly I’m not the first review complaining about bugs/roaches!

We visited the hotel during a weekend for 1 night. The facility is great and in a great location! We really enjoyed walking to the bustling mall and seeing shoppers and stores just like they were before the pandemic! However, there were a couple opportunities. The front desk person who checked us in didn't greet us. It was more of a "you can step up to the desk" head motion. She was chewing gum, which I don't mind, unless the person seems uninterested in knowing how we're doing or doesn't care if we feel welcome. There was very little eye contact, nor were we welcomed as Diamond Hilton Honors members. We dined in the bar because the restaurant was closed (presumably due to staffing shortage). The service from the bartender was exceptional. He was handling a lot of people coming from an event who were next door in the banquet rooms. And he was taking orders and serving about a dozen people in the dining area of the bar. He did it all with a smile and warmth! The food however wasn't great. My wife's pizza looked overcooked and dark. My steak was supposed to be medium but was well done. The temperature of the food was only lukewarm. Still, we ate and enjoyed the evening. The courtyard of the hotel looked like it was undergoing some construction. There was a frame of a structure that had a big blue tarp underneath it. The cool tables with heated gas logs were visible, but didn't appear to be usable. I would definitely come back to this hotel, but only if it is staffed up again. Nothing against the hotel. It's the environment we're in.

For 2 days I felt like I was in an episode of "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody " my 2 bedroom 2 bath suite with a kitchen was amazing beyond my wildest dreams! The only thing that was missing was a wood burning fireplace, a diamond-encrusted tiara and some chocolate. The rooms were immaculately clean. The atmosphere was so great! Thank you for making me feel so welcomed!

The local staff was very friendly and did their best. This hotel's ownership group appears to be struggling mightily, I did a little research on their stock price and metrics. Nice rooms but there were a few smaller items one could tell we're ignored or could not be afforded to address. For instance, on the sliding glass door, the door mounding was literally falling apart when the door was moved. One set of elevators is still down (there is only one working set). Location is A+ if you are staying in Southpark area. We only stayed one night so didn't really care about the deferred maintenance items. I would probably look to another hotel next time since newer and better maintained hotels were similarly priced. Maybe ownership can turn the corner.

I stayed 1 night. The parking has limited handicap parking spaces, a bit of a distance from the front door. The inside of the hotel is huge, with a resort fill, plenty of relaxed sitting, indoor pool, bar and resturant. My room was wonderful, the bed was very comfortable but wish I had a step stool to help me get into it. I had a patio off the bedroom where I could sit and smoke a cigarette. Plus I got a warm cookie at checkin. If you plan on staying here longer bring your drinks, food if you want because there is a sink, frig and microwave in the suite. Clise to shopping mall if you want to go out side of hitel. Cleaning staff was wondering they helped me when I checked out because I am disabled, I really appreciated their assistance.

Our 1st room (255) had sticky entry door, noisy bathroom fan, hairs in shower and a sink that barely drained. Our 2nd room had no problems, as guests expect. Front desk and breakfast room folks very friendly and helpful. Great location.

Christmas Eve night there was a fire drill with the temperature outside being 7 degrees. None of the staff ever came to let us know to re-enter the building. The guests took it upon ourselves to re enter. Christmas morning my husband and I were stranded in the elevator for over 45 minutes. None of the staff ever showed up, didn’t answer any of our calls. We ended up crawling out of the elevator and went to front desk to inform the staff. They had no idea we were stuck in the elevator. Poor customer service, poor communication. I would never recommend this place to anyone ever.

Front desk was very nice during check in. We have the separate bedroom rooms. They are big, clean and furniture is updated. I travel a lot and down in the area usually for a couple days every other month. We found our new hotel for the area. The only problem I have with this hotel is ants. I was eating a steak sandwich on the coffee table, I fell asleep for an hour. There was at least 100 ants on my sandwich and the table. The other issue which is not big but they never replace the pool towels from the night before. I am sitting by the pool now, dirty towels are still here, front desk won't pick up. Not a deal breaker, will be back in 6 weeks.

A very clean and modern hotel. The rooms were very spacious. My room had two queen beds and a living area with a sofa, dining area, and a desk for work. The hotel has a restaurantl and bar conveniently located inside of the hotels as well as a Enterprise Rental Car. Some of the rooms also have balconies.

Very disappointed in our recent stay at this hotel. First the receptionist was very short and seemed extremely uninterested in helping us get checked in. Second, the amount of bugs we found in our room was as if we were camping outside. Several large silver fish, lots of gnats, and we killed at least ten small black ants. A few we found crawling on us in the middle of the night. The cleanliness was also extremely subpar. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and the corners had a lot of build up of dirt. Parking was not well lit and cars that have clearly been parked there for months had drawing and inappropriate words all over them. The hallways smelled heavily of marijuana and the cleanliness of the common hallways were horrible. Lastly, the maintenance crew began cutting the grass before 8am waking our entire room up. The only highlights would be the water pressure and proximity to South Park mall. We have stayed in these hotels across the country and this was hands down the worst we’ve ever seen. Very dissatisfied.

The hotel is in a great area of town with lots of shopping and dining near by. The staff was very welcoming and kind. We stayed two different times within a week, each suite was very clean. However, I believe the AC or thermostats were broken. Each room was around 78-80 degrees at all times. I had to buy box fans from Walmart to keep us cool while we slept.

  • 1/5 Jenita B. 1 year ago on Google
This visit was subpar. Upon arrival our room was 78 degrees. As the night progressed it became warmer and unbearable. The heat ended up making my husband ill. We contacted the front desk in the morning upon awakening. After 2 calls to the front desk, an hour later someone arrived and “reset” the unit. Air flow (though not truly cool) began. We departed for the day for our family events. We returned Saturday evening to find the room at 76 degrees. The temperature began rising again. We checked the thermostat setting which was still set on 69 degrees. Exhausted, with children ready to eat we prepared to eat dinner. I searched all cabinets for supplies as we were in a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette. No plates, silverware, etc was in the cabinets. They were still filthy sitting in the dishwasher! Fortunately I packed bleach cleanser so I used that to wash some plates and cutlery for dinner. Exhausted and frustrated at this point we suffered through another hot sweaty night of sleep. My previous visits here enjoyable. I was able to look beyond stains on the carpet and a missing strip of tile in front of the tub, but the filthy dishes and 78-80 degree temperatures were unacceptable. I do expect to be contacted by management. This was UNACCEPTABLE,

Their site says that that renovated in 2019, but this hotel is rough. The lobby was beautiful, and we saw painting trucks and carpet cleaners. But our room had broken tiles, patch-work painting and fixing, the vents looked gross, and there were soft spots on the floors that my partner thought his foot was going to go through. And we saw stuff like that all over the hotel. The pool was not heated, but beautiful. No hot tub. And to top it off, we got pulled into the middle of some front desk/housekeeping drama. The housekeeping supervisor knocked on our do not disturb door to tell us that she didn't have us (or anyone) assigned to that room and sent someone else to stay in our room. I told her when we checked in and she just kept saying sorry and that she didn't have us on her room list. I said I'd call the front desk, which I did. The front desk staff was very nice to me and said everything was OK and apologized for the interruption. I think they thought I was on hold but I did overhear a conversation that included something to the effect of, "Bi!@$. She's trying to make it seem like I don't know what I'm doing." Again, the front desk was very helpful and professional when speaking to me directly. But I did consider checking out and into another hotel. Not a good experience overall.

My stay here is supposed to be for 3 days and 2 nights and I wish I was having a better experience with my stay. We were switched to 3 different rooms due to the cleanliness, second room being occupied already. Other than that the inside of the hotel is nice, rooms are spacious, it has a nice pool and the staff is nice. I was offered free breakfast for our inconveniences, but I don't know if I would stay here again.

Very expensive! Stayed here for 2 days and spent 500 bucks! Just too much money for the little amenities, however the pool is nice wish it was heated though. No free breakfast, which is stupid when you pay all this money! Clean comfy rooms! Great maid service. I love that you can pay your room and don't have to re- check in. They do your key for you so you don't have to walk a mile to the front desk. Lol

A few of issues: 1) all of the elevators were not in operation. 2) refrigerator didn't work well in our room. 3) room stayed cool, but air didn't seem to lower when adjusted. 4) handle on the toilet would stick. Other than this, the stay was enjoyable. Hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. Excellent location to entertainment.

It was a rough start. This hotel was offered to us via a Rewards Program. First time at a Hilton. Updates are needed for this hotel. The location is a strong positive and the pool is spacious and chlorinated and a great temperature. At check in the lady was warm and friendly. The cons were: Bathrooms with mold and after changing rooms a 2nd bath had a persistent and strange smell. Even disinfected bathroom myself. Getting extra towels for the bath was a chore even when asking staff with towel cart. Clean towels were missing at pool in the pm but maybe guests took more than needed. Also major noise issues from another guests in 2 rooms. The front desk lady changed us to a third room on the third night which had no noise issues and the smell was way less and had 75% more light because the balcony wall was full glass. This made the stay and our sleep better. It's a mixed bag here. It seems some rooms are better than others. I think they need to upgrade - we would pay more for quiet and optimal cleanliness.

We had a good stay here with no real complaints or issues. Rooms are basic and the dining table only had 2 chairs but they are a good size and the beds were comfortable. Great location and we were able to walk to the Mall and the American Girl store. Nice pool and the hotel did a nice job of making sure quiet time at 10pm was respected. We did not partake of the bar or restaurant but both were open. We would stay again.

Awesome staff, breakfast, courtesy on items needed. Just great. We stayed from Monday to Saturday and it was just an awesome stay. The rooms were really nice . Clean . Will be returning .

Great hotel! Always enjoy my stay. Rooms are very clean. The only issue I have is with parking. They need better parking areas. Especially when coming in at night and you have to park in the garage and you see a sign that says “park at your own risk”

  • 2/5 B 2 years ago on Google
No hot water at 10:30pm last night. Only mildly warm. No hot water at 5:15am just barely warm enough to shower. 9:30am no hot water at all, only cold. Reservation was lost and took almost 45 minutes to check in. Not sure if this was the hotel or booking website but was frustrating. Room was clean but decor is a bit dated. If I had hot water I'd bump this to 3 stars.
