A place I enjoyed as a child, during the summers the 70's. Its a beautiful location in the beautiful village of Moreton. Always aim to stop here when in the area to enjoy a paddle, reminding myself of those wonderful childhood days. Whilst here, we enjoyed a cup of tea and a bite to eat at the Tea Rooms, now sadly closed, before visiting the stunning church and last resting place of T. E. Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia.

This place is Beautiful 🀩. For everyone who likes a paddle, walk, a best river with a Ford. I think only modified jeeps etc can pass over here, it's deepest at winter. I've only ever only witnessed a vehicle cross here, aha it was a jeep with snorkel exhaust πŸ‘Œ

Stunning river, tons to do! I could spend hours here with a net trying to catch little tiny fish, or just playing with my dog, or enjoying the view, there's SO much to do here, complete with a substantial walk that never seems to end, this is about as good as you can get for a free day out!

Such a beautiful place. Please remember that this ford is still used by traffic when laying out your picnics and please take your rubbish home with you.

Such a peaceful place, just the sound of the river without any traffic noise. Plenty of free car parking and nine places to eat. Lots of good walks nearby and cemetery where Lawrence of Arabia is laid to rest.

Wow, this was quite a sight. We came the day after Storm Bella and the water levels were really up, not usable as a ford today! We were told it would be about a metre deep with all this floodwater. In the summer a popular bathing site in the warm weather. Certainly worth a 100m walk from the walled garden or St Nicolas church if you are visiting.

I wanted to take my kids for a walk in the woods but they had an adventure in this one spot instead, I didn’t want to interrupt the fun they had all around here. They went right in as the water is very shallow and enjoyed finding fish and so much more. They spent an hour just exploring and trying to think of ways to catch the fish without a net 😝 I asked my brother if the water was cleaned and he assured me it was so hopefully there isn’t any bad things in the water as sadly it’s too common. You can park for free on the road just approaching.

Relatively safe for kids to splash around in during the summer months. Apparently it is the widest ford in the country but don't risk taking ya Nissan Micra through it, you will come a cropper. More suitable for a tractor or a substantial Chelsea 4x4. It gets proper muddy in the winter months, and it's funny to watch the white trainer wearers, tippy tip toe to the bridge. Not many responsible dog owners visit here though, an abundance of smell dog poo is evident.

I’m lucky enough to live nearby and over the years, my kids used to love β€˜fishing’ for tiddlers and it’s the go to place for dogs on a hot day

A tranquil place to walk the dogs. Water is shallow and safe for dogs and children. There is free parking along the road and in a nearby field in the summer.

It's a beautiful place, you can walk through the river, from one side to the other. It's a small place out of the way,so only a hand full of families can enjoy at a time. There are lovely walks and cycle paths to enjoy.

Lovely hidden away Dorset secret. Great in the summer for kids, dogs and walkers. Lovely church at Moreton with famous Whistler stunning windows. Enough room to park on the road. Near Lawrence of Arabia's grave.
