If I could give it 0 stars I would. The worst doctors surgery I have ever been with. Samples are always lots. No one calls you back with results. My husband once called 75 times to try to get through to just be put in a queue as the phone line was constantly busy. Referrals never seem to happen you have to chase and I have never actually seen my so called appointed 'doctor' its always a trainee, health worker or its a different doctor everytime. No consistancy and so you just feel like a number on the books not like you are cared for at all. Trying to leave to a smaller surgery asap.

This isn't a critiscm of any staff or GPs who have always been helpful and professional when I have dealt with them but I am trapped in a cycle of doom trying to get a non urgent appointment. I call in the morning, held in a queue to be told there are no appointments and to fill in the e-consult form. Fine, I do that only to receive a message at the end of the day to say there are no appointments and to call the surgery in the morning. And so the cycle continues. Also the advice to ring 111 or seek urgent care is irrelevant to people just wanting non emergency advice. I was very poorly 2 weeks ago as and I did manage to get an appointment after my partner spent most of the morning battling between the surgery and 111. I think the surgery need to understand the patient experience is frustrating and disappointing at a time when we really just need medical help.

There are no words to describe how bad this surgery is. Not one person seems to care and they are quickly offended if, frustrated by the lack of service, you finally raise your voice. This place deserves 0, not one star. I have been prescribed antianxiety medication and every month I struggle to get a prescription even though I supposedly have a 'batch'. No chance of booking an appointment, no matter how ill you are. I just logged into my GP after obtaining details from the surgery. I tried to book appointment it tells me surgery does not do appointments, I tried to book an online appointment, the app tells me the surgery does not do these appointments either. I cannot see the history of my medication either. How did this surgery received 'good' from the Quality Care I don't know. Of course the NHS does not care how bad they are, no one is responsible for its efficiency.

Absolute shambles. GP at this surgery referred me as an urgent case on a 2 week pathway. After 9 days of not hearing anything I contacted the hospital to be advised the form had not been signed by the doctor so had been rejected by hospital. The hospital sent this back the day after I was referred so the practice did not action this for 9 days and still do not know if this has been actioned. When you voice concerns to reception staff you are met with a rude and couldnt care a less attitude. The only decent doctor is Dr Moore if your lucky enough to get an appointment with her. She would most definitely get 5 stars however the surgery as a whole wouldn't even get a star if that was possible!

I have been a patient at this practice since it first opened. In the last 15 years the quality of service has gone downhill. Very difficult to get any appointments. Until today the last time I tried to use them was October 21. I understand during covid NHS were very busy. But I ended up having to go private to get treatment. Today I phoned just after 08:00. Nice to see that they have changed the phone system. Once you get through your position in the queue is held, and the surgery calls you back. All they say no appointments left phone back tomorrow or call 111. Definitely a lack of patient care. And they say they are taking new patients when they can't service the current patients.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. 1. Me have had chronic back pain for over a year. Have had to pay private physio and osteo both saying I need a scan. Constant pain every day and night. Can never call..online form sent 13 times now.with no response. Two "clerical" issue meaning a year later through their fault I still have no scan and can't even get a call back after weeks and weeks and weeks. At want point is it mal practise and seek legal advise ? 2. My child we have real concerns with he may have autism. Again over 6 months waiting, no calls, no answer to forms, no Dr appointment. Again their issues, referral didn't happen, months later waiting again its been done incorrectly. No no contact at all It's absolutely shocking. They should be closed down

If I could give -5 I would! You cannot get an appointment for love nor money, even for a 3 year old with an ear infection. I honestly don’t know what the point of the nhs is

Rang surgery this morning for appointment. Was told no appointments available as full to capacity. Then they tell me to ring 111 and they can book me an appointment at this surgery. Rang 111 and they wanted to send ambulance out to me which I didn't think was necessary for my problem. Not been able to get appointment at this surgery to see a gp for nearly two years now. Ridiculous.

Recently attended for an appointment, arrived at reception desk and receptionist was typing at her keyboard, I stood in front of her window waiting patiently, she did her best to ignore me eventually she acknowledged me and pointing to the self service screen asked why I couldn't use that, I explained it hadn't been working when I had been in for another issue earlier in the week. She did book me in, but there was no 'good afternoon how can I help you' just a friendly smile would have been nice. Had my appointment which was 35 minutes late, didn't mind that, really understood. However, I had handed some investigation results in 3 weeks earlier and had been assured these would be uploaded in time for my appointment. The results of these investigations have been very upsetting. When I saw the doctor, she told me these results had not been put on the system. When I discussed the implications of the investigations, she asked, what do you expect me to do about it, this is not my area of expertise? Felt very disappointed with the whole experience. Have got the impression there has been too much e-consult going on and not enough patient contact.

Appalling lack of care has been demonstrated to me and many others i have spoken to. The clinical staff vary in aptitude, the clerical staff incompetent on too many occasions, there are a few bright lights, but overall, time for an overhaul. Practice Manager ? Make an official complaint.!

Wanted to book a non urgent gp appointment as I was already advised in a triage that I need to discuss going on possible medication to reduce my risk of heart attack. Spoke to a very unhelpful man on the phone who spoke like he was literally reading a script, monotomous and uncaring. His only reply being, phone back Monday. Despite the fact I told him it is impossible to do this as I am a key worker, don't have access or availability to phone at 8am on Monday as guess what. I have work to do. No facility to accommodate and by all accounts no actual care for the health of those registered there. This used to be a decent surgery, management need sacking and replacing with a major overhaul of local health services

Rubbish services from reception. We keep asking for appointment for my mother who is 84 years old heart patient. And they don't seem to have any appointments. Reception don't seem to be interested to help. They keep saying attend the a&e if u think its serious. They need to close down if they can't provide any service. Or may be they are fed up . We need proper doctors who can care for their patients. And God help these receptionists, only there to be paid for looking pretty. CLOSE YOUR SURGERY AND GO HOME IF YOU CANNOT BE OF ANY HELP.

Terrible surgery. Even getting a simple prescription for a medication prescribed to me in the past has proven impossible. The receptionists stock response to every phone call is “try ringing 111 instead”. It may as well be a recorded message. Honestly what’s the point of this place!?

Would award 0 if I could. A catalogue of issues. My advice is to avoid this practice at all costs. Have spent over 8 hours trying to get someone in the practise to speak to me. This ended up in me dialling 111 and someone (unnecessarily) sending out an ambulance. NHS website directs me to repeat prescriptions link for the practice that the practice does not use, but the message says my request will be forwarded, the practice has not acted on this. Information from the next door pharmacist re medication is contradicted by practice and neither seem willing to help sort out the issue each blames the other which does me no good. Have also been prescribed inappropriate medication by a nurse practitioner in the past which the GP then later countermanded due to side effects.

Absolutely and completely useless. Poor you if you’re sick and ever worse if you’re elderly and sick. Patients are told to present at the practice for 8.30am to be offered a phone call from a doctor within several days. People like the chemist are making shed loads of money as no long term prescription’s are ever checked by doctors so the chemist just keeps repeating and repeating. Such a waste to the NHS. Someone should be sent in to restructure this practice and govern.

Out of word to describe. I have waited two months for the smears tests because the nurse has to go on holiday. Now that they’ve got another nurse to cover, there’s no availability at all before I gotta go to school full time in two weeks time. They’ve said “you can try calling see if any cancellation”. Now I get why it takes 30 mins waiting for someone to pick up the phone. Can you imagine how horrible would that be if people were sick🤦🏾‍♀️

Rang at 8 o’clock this morning had an appointment for 9 am. Was seen by a female Doctor Who explained everything in full. Did a thorough examination explaining everything throughout the process and has recommended me for physio and the doctor also carried out a urine test and I had the results four hours later by text.

Can't get seen, talk to doctors on phone and its not good enough at times, my son was really sick and I now wish I'd called 111 as he was misdiagnosed. Hate seeing/ speaking to different doctors each time and when on phone I can't understand most of them :( I was told I had osteoarthritis but been seen elsewhere and it is not. Was told to make another appointment by a doctor after I had a breakdown but when I called about results of ECG and to make appointment I was told I couldn't, how can a doctor say they want to see you again and then get told you cant? Not been replied to about many things. Had more bad service than good. Shame.

Having worked in surgery environment for nearly 20 years I fully appreciate the pressure the team at Thorndike have to work under. Yes it can be frustrating trying to get an appointment or a phone call back, but they are working under extreme pressure and I for one am always very grateful to every single member of the Thorndike team for all the help they give. Thank you Thorndike.

Outstanding help and support this afternoon (17 Oct 22) from GP, Reception and Nursing staff when I sought unbooked help with chronic breathing difficulties. All the staff had my best interests at heart and it was so reassuring to be in their care. They were professional, caring, supportive and so helpful. My grateful thanks to the staff who looked after me. Well done Thorndike.

The doctors and nurses at thorndike surgery are really kind and understanding. Their especially good when you're in a difficult or complicated situation at home. Their really good at keeping your information confidential. If they want to tell someone about your info they always ask for your permission first. I highly recommend:)

Not completely sure what people expect from a Drs. Please ignore bad reviews. This surgery, nurses, receptionists and drs have been very professional and helpful. I feel confident in the tests they have done. They have been very receptive and approachable. The NHS and Drs are under pressure but I didn't feel rushed, I actually felt heard. Thank you so much for helping me. It really isn't often I ask for help and I really appreciate your professionalism and dedication.

After significant difficulties in not being able to see a Doctor in person I have joined another practice. I had been with Thorndike for 20 years. The quality of service has fallen off a cliff since covid. The new practice is under special measures and is still so much better than Thorndike which says so much.

COMPLAINT MADE. They are now referring you to a private pharmacy even though you called for an NHS appointment. Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. This is medical negligence on every level.
