The building itself is very old, so expect thin walls and dated interior. The room looked very dated and worn. There was a broken pole in one of the draws along with old sweet wrappers and an old canvas. The bed was very hard, the pillows were too thin and flimsy. The shower was discoloured and going black /yellow. Shower curtain fixture was broken. Bathroom floor was discoloured / worn. The plumbing above the room was extremely loud, made the whole room vibrate. The surrounding area is pretty rough, lots of chavs / drunk men on benches. Wouldn't stay again, staff were nice.

The staff were friendly, and the room was recently decorated, however the bathroom was a bit dusty, and it was generally cold. It can't be helped, as it's an old coaching inn. It has bags of character, but the public areas and the pub could do with some attention.

Arrived at 12 midnight after 8 hours driving and reception had no idea of our bookING took them 20 min to sort us out. No hot water. Place was like a bomb had hit it. In the room was one teabag one small milk one cup when we booked 2 adults. Bathroom was disgusting. AVOID

We stayed here for 4 nights in a family room. The Hilton it certainly isn't, but for cheap accommodation anywhere close to London it is good value. Our room was clean - the bathroom not spotless, but fine. The beds were OK, and again clean linen etc. The fact that it has free, readily available parking is a huge advantage, and again the cheap price makes it good value. If you're looking for somewhere to relax in a pleasant, enjoyable space, don't stay here, but you'll have to shell out more ££. If you just need a place to stay that is affordable, has parking, and are willing to compromise on "pleasantness", this place is a great option.

I can't give a review without having to give a star, believe me, this place needs condemning, and today!!!!!! There's mould all over the bathroom ceiling, the toilet hasn't seen a toilet brush or bleach in forever, there's excrement all over the radiator in the bathroom, and the stains on the carpet are Un mentionable. Don't waste your money, pay more and stay somewhere else, please!!!!. It's not value for money by any stretch of the imagination. You wouldn't stay even if you were drunk!!!!!!!!

Worst place I have ever stayed at felt so unsafe that I contemplated sleeping in my car. The hotel and rooms stank of illegal drugs being smoked throughout the place and left me and family concerned of what sort of place we was at? During the evening the noise from the bar lasted well into the early hours of the morning between the downstairs noise the was shouting in the hallways and outside the place and people attempting to enter our room, along with the sound of adult activities next door. The room had 4/5light bulbs missing with cracked tiles and broken flooring in bathroom, as for the showed well the whole screen had been ripped off and the walls covered in mold/damp. 5am the fire alarm went off and I took that as my chance to exit early and go find coffee and somewhere safer to be. This was part of a 2night stay and well let's be safe to say I found another hotel for the second night. Star rating - 3

A really dreadful place. Absolutely filthy, terribly stained matresses and the hospitality cups ect were all sticky n dirty.. we changed rooms and the 2nd room was the same as the first one.the kettle blew the electrics...its a terrible shame because the hotel is the most beautiful historic example of a lovely Tudor building. If everywhere in the whole of Orpington hadn't of been fully booked we would've left immediately but unfortunately we had to sleep in the disgusting room which we did on top of our coats in an attempt to not touch the bed or bedding. the floor wasn't any better n we couldn't bear to step on it with bare feet. Needless to say our stay in the Mary Rose Inn was a total let down n we'd never stay there ever again n we most definitely wouldnt recommend anyone else to stay there either.

after our recent stay we were very disappointed on the condition of our room. Firstly there was no soap in the bathroom Loud noise coming from bathroom pipes when water was used When trying to use the shower it fell apart, and at times the water went to really hot then cold when used by other rooms. In our opinion the shower and mixer taps need replacing Overall the room was of a very poor standard.

Went in recently after a year and am pleasantly surprised by the renovations, the new conferencing room and bar. The old place was a total mess but it seems the new owner has spruced it all up, including the service. Now seems like a very good place for weddings and events. Highly recommend it.
