I cannot thank the staff at SpaMedica, in Bolton, enough. I was very nervous about my cataract op, but they made me feel so comfortable, and explained the whole process, and answered all my questions. A fantastic experience, and everything went very well, on the day of my first op. The staff and nurses are amazing. So friendly, professional and helpful. Thank you, so much.

Life changing. I didn't know how bad my eyes was, until spa medica treatments. I've had one eye done, & waiting for the other coming up soon. It can't come quick enough for me. There's an earlier review saying "waiting around too long". Well yes. I was in around 3 hours, when the eye op was a 15 minute job. But my goodness, it's worth the wait. And if you can't wait the 3 hours in good company drinking a coffee, for something as important as your eyes. Clean, comfortable and very professional. From start to finish. I can only give a 5 star. Second eye done. Wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about it 3rd edit. I was hardly able to drive before surgery. Now I play snooker again after 30 years.

My Mother had her cataract surgery here today. She was made to feel very welcome by the nurses, and they tried their best to put her at ease. She has high blood pressure and is 84 yrs old. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars was because of the doctor's attitude. He was very grumpy and shouted at her TWICE in front of the nurses. She apparently 'should have had her surgery done 5 years ago'. When she tried to explain that she'd been waiting 3 years because of high blood pressure, and had one surgery cancelled, the doctor didn't want to know. She was very nervous anyway, and being shouted at certainly didn't help. We appreciate that the procedure may have been more difficult for the doctor than usual, but you SHOULD NOT shout at patients, especially elderly people who are nervous to begin with. But thankyou to the wonderful nurses for the service and courtesy shown to my mum.

Thank you for looking after my Father who had his cataract operation today. Brilliant courteous staff from staff / porters who greet you at the door through to the Nurses and Doctors. Superb service from all.

Very impressed with the company and staff. After seeing my optometrist it was less than 24 hours and I was phoned with my appointment. Two weeks later I met some friendly but professional staff and my 2 hours went quickly. Unfortunately instead of having the cataract operation within the next 2 weeks we found that I was allergic to the local anesthetic. I now have an an appointment with the Royal Bolton to do all the same tests in 4 months time.!!!!!

Just had my second cataracts done I can’t thank them enough made me feel so welcome and made me feel so comfortable first time as was very scared and didn’t no what to expect but they assured me it be ok and honestly it was to the fact I had my second eye done with not a worry bout it absolutely fantastic staff my surgeon was a very nice man made me so relaxed I highly recommend them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

All the staff are very friendly, polite and courteous. The place is very airy. I felt really at ease when I went for more assessment

Very friendly staff. very clean . I had both of my caterach surgery done they are very reassuring. There is no pain or discomfort excellent much appreciated 👍 👏I had my eyes done on 1st of July 23 at bolton I'm still attending as I had shingles virus prior so they have been checking my eye to make sure that it hasn't come back nothing to do with my 2 surgerys I can now see thank you all so much

This place is faultless. They saved my sight. After so many issues they really did take care of me. They are so accomodating with appointments. Im so grateful x

Following my husbands good experience at Spa Medica, Bedford, I decided that I too would go this route with my cataracts, and I was not disappointed. The experience was first class from the word go and the staff extremely kind and pleasant all the way through. In fact when in the operating area I was not even aware that the operation had taken place! So all I can say is that I would highly recommend Spa Medica. Being a NHS patient it was great to be able to receive such speedy and helpful attention.

My partner had cataract surgery at Spamedica Bolton some months ago. Absolute disaster. Has made the sight in her right eye a lot worse. Now they have decided not to operate on the other eye. So people before you decide on the surgery seriously think about the risks. It can and does sometimes go wrong. Eric Mitchell.

Absolutely disgusting. I have been referred to spa Medicare for Saint Catherine‘s Hospital Birkenhead Wirral at the beginning of January 2023, I have been chasing spa medics up for an appointment sine beginning of March . Spell medical website and phone answering quotes that you should have an appointment with no longer than four weeks. If you have been waiting longer than that time immediately, speak to somebody at spa Medicare. I’ve been chasing this around in circles to get nobody able to do anything other than tell me there’s no appointments. Absolutely disgusting service. I was offered an appointment in Liverpool which is not even in the centre, for the end of June told him I’m a pensioner and I could not afford to be getting a taxi from Wirral to Liverpool if it was not in the centre they don’t care how am I supposed to afford a taxi service when I have a perfectly good hospital, five minutes down the road from me

A fantastic experience at SpaMedica with my mum who was going for laser eye surgery. On entering the building the people were helpful who greeted you. The staff on reception were friendly and welcoming and the SpaMedica staff answered all of our questions and we were informed about what what going to happen and also given booklets to take home and read. From the first visit we didn't have to wait long to going back for the surgery. They did fantastic brews while you were waiting and bonus they were free. Would highly recommend this place.

I was refered to SpaMedica by Specsavers Bury. The service I've received I can only describe as exceptional I had a pre-assessment within two weeks followed by my cataract removal and new lens being done just two weeks later. Wow what a difference my vision was better as I left the building. The colours and the sharpness of images are so much better I never realised just how bad my vision had become. The care i received for my cataract surgery was superb. From the minute i entered the building i was made to feel welcome. From the porter who greeted me to the consultant who performed the surgery i felt safe and valued . Every stage of my journey was explained and the kindness and empathy alleviated any anxiety i had . All of the staff at Bolton are a credit to Spa Medica . Sincere thanks to all involved in my care .

I had my left eye done in December 2023. The staff were wonderful, and the op wasnt uncomfortable, but sadly, Im one of the unlucky ones. My eye is worse now. I regret having it done ! 😢
