Such a unique place! Unfortunately, we have been touring with unfriendly staff. Never again! As a professional teacher who is in charge of teens, we have been treated with no respect. We are all human beings, and so are teens, too. We don't deserve unpleasant treatment. Very disappointed after all. Anyway, we have plenty of beautiful places in Czechia, so let's discover them. Hopefully, we will meet the friendly and welcoming staff.

I took the underground mine guided tour. The tour was conducted in English and despite the guides apologies about her English, I understood her just fine. The guide went in to a lot of detail about the history of mining in Kutna Hora, the equipment used and the lives of the miners. Then followed a tour down into what used to be one of the actual silver mines of Kutna Hora, back in it's heydays of mining. The safety precautions requires that we all wore hardhats with a light attached, plus overalls to protect our clothes. Personally I had a lot of fun going into the mines. The guide stops at points of interest and seeing the condition under which miners worked was very enlightening. At one point in the tour, everyone switched off their lights. In the pitch black, it made me really appreciate my office based jobs. A really enjoyable tour.

Absolut phantastisch!

We came from Prague but there is not much to see in the museum. For the "exhibit", I would give one star but since the museum had description materials in English and French (with grammatical mistakes), I am awarding two stars. All in all, it is not worth of making the trip.

At the last minute I decided to do the Silver Mine tour based on the reviews I read. As they warn, if you are very pregnant, claustrophobic, a very large individual, etc. You want to skip the mines and just go to the museum. The mines have areas that are as narrow as 40cm and as low as ~157cm. If my memory is correct. Even below average sized individuals are going to have to stoop over in some areas and turn sideways in others. Before going into the mines. They provide you a hardhat and for very good reason. You will hit your head in the mine. No problem with the hardhat. If you look at the top you will notice how rough it has become. One thing that was not made clear on the website concerning pricing. There is an upcharge for everything. Want the English tour? That will be an extra 20czk (or was it 40?). Want to take pictures? That will be an extra 50czk. The mine itself was interesting. You got to see and learn about the conditions the miners worked in. You can still see tool marks on the walls. You learned about what the town was really like back when the mine operational vs what it is like now. I would put the tour on my list of things to do during your trip.

This was totally awesome I did the mine tour and the museum, the mine is very interesting but not the place for claustrophobics, obese people(too small inside) or people w heart problems. Really nice tour guides, one of my most interesting experiences in czechia.

Offers regular tours of the silver mine accompanied by knowledgeable guides - not for the claustrophobic.

Amazing experience, with a kind and knowledgeable guide. When I arrived at the museum, the final tour of the day (in Czech, and I only speak English) had already begun 15 minutes earlier. Rather than turn me away, a guide at the office personally guided me through the mine in English, following behind the Czech group. She was incredibly knowledgeable and provided interesting facts about the mines and it's workers through the years. The tunnels stretch on for untold miles, honeycombing the earth. This is truly an experience to remember.

Their hours change every month apparently. The staff were so rude about it too. I was so upset and they were just like “yah it’s on our site too bad”. Well their sites layout is also very confusing and counter-intuitive. Glad to see I didn’t miss much I guess from the other reviews. But what a waste of 4 hours on a train

200K for a 90 minute medieval silver mine tour in English. A little rushed at times and not always easy to hear but nevertheless recommended for something very different. Tunell was narrow and low for about 20m otherwise easy enough - unless you are oversized or very tall then forget it - people do get stuck the guide advised. You wear helmet and it is necessary as you will bump your head. Also wear sensible footwear as it is wet down there. Maximum depth was 35m.

Interesting place, guide in English was really good, told everything. We reserved tickets a day before. English tour through mine had just 6 people so i would recommend visiting

The staff there was very helpful. They guided us through our experience. Plus helped us book a cab when we were about to miss our last train back.

Unorganisiert.

I had an exceptional experience at the silver mine with the underground mine tour. The guides were truly remarkable and their knowledge about the mine was awe-inspiring. One guide, Renata, went above and beyond by taking my English-speaking boyfriend aside for a private lecture in English, ensuring he didn't miss out on any fascinating details. The attention to detail and personalized service made us feel valued and special. The entire tour was well-organized, informative, and engaging. From start to finish, everything was great, and we left with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the silver mining industry. Highly recommended!

We took the silver mine tour on a hot summers day, which was perfect as the mines are cool. The maximum size of the group is 25 people, which really is streching it a bit. I would recommend booking in advance as no space may be available when you arrive to the museum. The guide will first tell you about the history of the mine in Kutná Hora and show you the various tools used for the job. You will receive a rather redicilous cloak and a hardtop helmet with a light attached and make your way to the old mine shafts. You will have to walk in all that gear about 250 m across the street to the amusement of locals and tourist. The mine is 30 m below ground which you will access via a metal staircase which seems to never end. The actual mine is very wet and can be slippery in places. I would recommend decent footwear. The lowest point is just 120cm high and 40cm wide (not the same spot). It is not for people who feel uncomfortable in tight places, it is not for larger people either. Its not the height as one can duck, its the width which really could be a problem for some. It was a lot of fun for us and we really enjoyed the experience. Must be great for kids too.

Amazing experience. The guide was great-he had deep knowlage and a lot of funny stories. Mining tunels were low, narrow and a bit scary but total experience is just great. I would say this mining tour is worth more than Wieliczka salt museum. Totaly reccomend!

One of the highlights of my trip to Prague. You have two options, the above ground museum or the visit to the mine. The latter is the real deal. At the beginning and the end you'll see some exhibitions above ground and the guide explains how the processing of ores worked. In between you are taken to the mine which is awesome and lasts about 30-40 minutes. Our guide wasnt completely fluent in english but the presentation was good enough so we could grasp the information. Make sure to book a couple days before on their website especially in high season. Please dont go if you have trouble in small, dark, wet places. Put on water resistant shoes if possible. You have to pay 20 kc extra for a foreign language tour and 50 kc to take photos.

We didn't book ahead and Tour 2 was fully booked on the day we visited - quite unusual these days! We did Tour 1, but it was only mildly interesting (it covers the history of the town, rather than the silver mining process). You get a folder with all the text in English, but it's a little hard to match up with the different visuals on each board. Overall, disappointed we missed out on Tour 2, although it was our fault!

12:43 the lady looked right at me, closed the entrance and walked outside for a cigarette.

This tour has great potential. As an English speaker on the Czech language tour (found that part out once it started) I was handed reading material while the tour guide discussed everything else. This was fine above ground but was frustrating in the tight spaces in the tunnels hunching down to wait for others to listen to a description I had already read. The extra charges are a bit much too-you definitely want the jacket but they are not cleaned between users as the fee suggests, I didn’t pay extra to take pictures.

I really recommend you to visit it! Awesome tour guide Barbara, she was with us on Friday, 08th October 2021! She is very cheerful!

Did the tour into the mine, which was awesome. It is pretty cramped down there though (which make sense, it is a medieval mine after all!). Guide was excellent at explaining everything. Would certainly recommend.

Sleigh was clunky and wouldn't move, the one i got was broken and i had to pull myself on the tracks to get it to move, the person behind me was so reckless and kept bumping into me, making my back hurt worse... never returning, such a shame.
