Excellent place to get familiar with computer history, and ply old school arcade and games!

This place is so cool! I thought 8000 won was a bit expensive but considering you can play the actual old games, makes it totally worth it. I went alone, so I was done within 30 minutes. But I can imagine if you have kids, staying here for 2 hours wouldn’t be a problem. English translations are available

Quite an interesting museum. Tours were very educational and informative about the condition and history of this former prison. There was a special exhibition during the month of September featuring specifically the history of Jehovah's Witnesses in S. Korea and their battles with unjust imprisonment - September, I believe was 80 years since they experienced imprisonment. That exhibition was very intriguing, and although somber, it left you feeling amazed.

5/5 content. Very nicely curated. Good balance of Korean game industry and internet history and global hardware, software and game history.

Fantastic museum with a lot of historic computers and arcade games/games consoles etc. Lots of hands-on and interactive exhibits. Kids will love the many arcade and console games that you can play for free, and for a small fee there are other activities such as building your own mouse that you can take home. Almost all the displays are in English as well as Korean. Many of the displays have QR codes for an audio description, with most of them English as well as Korean. The museum takes up 4 floors, with each floor having a particular topic, and there is a small shop on basement level with various merchandise for sale. This museum is highly recommended for people of any age with an interest in computers or computer games, and is very family friendly. Bookings are compulsory, even for 1 person. Book on their website if you have an 010 mobile number, or you can email them and they reply within a day.

This museum brings back all my childhood memories, starting from IBM PC, Nintendo with Mario Bros game, Sega and the Crazy Games like Double Dragon. It really worths to gain knowledge about the history of computers, PC, Chip, Graphics and Internet. I am glad to know that South Korea is the second country who use Internet after the US. I hope this museum can provide more insights for visitors in the future 🔮🎉

High recommended place for tourist and Korean. If you don't know about Korea-japan historical relationship, you should visit here. (Some people ask me why Korean hate Japan and Japanese, that is the most ridiculous question for Korean) Then you will understand about North-East Asia political situations.

Seodaemun Prison has a big place in the Koreans mind. Walking around the prison you soon understand why. If you have an interest for Korean history this is a must go place. But I advice bringing a native because not everything is written in english, hence the 4 stars.

Definitely worthwhile stop to see the struggles the Korean nation has overcome. It’s a 5 Star museum but 4 stars for the international visitor. Not very much effort was put into maximizing impact for the non Koreans. There was so much more I wanted to see and understand.

100% visit this site regardless of whether you have studied Korean history or not. It will give you a deep perspective of what it was like under japanese rule and what prison life became because of it. They do not shy away from the atrocities that occurred there. Very informative and educational.

This is the place that made my Korean trip memorable. The actual place that thousands of Korean were captured and tortured. The exhibition hall is well managed which makes it easy for me to see the whole picture even I didn't know much about Korean history before. If you have 2-3 hours of free time, I would recommend you to visit this place. Dongnimmun St. Line3 Exit5 and there you are. The entrance fee is 3,000 won/person.

(Translated by Google) The place where I saw traces of old buildings in several places touched me. The situation at the time that I could feel inside the building was that the same thing happened on the grassy lawn. Personally, going when it's really hot or cold is a place that gets deeper into my heart. A place where I can feel gratitude while contrasting the appearance of myself wearing padded (or holding a portable fan) and the independent fighters who had to endure with thin clothes.

(Translated by Google) It was a visit to the prison history museum whether I thought that the current Republic of Korea was achieved by uniting with each other because Japan had a history of occupying Korea. Would I have endured that tough torture and started the independence movement... I think that my prosperous life was based on the sacrifices of the devotees of the independence movement. Visiting was a trip down memory lane, seeing and playing ganes I haven't seen since my childhood in the eighties, and sharing them with preteen kiddo was a memorable treat on an otherwise dull rainy day. I also thought the offered in person hands on exhibits (like translating your name to binary or rollers to move a mouse cursor through increasingly challenging mazes for example) and workshops were fantastic, but just a note: if you want your child to participate in a handson workshop, you have to signup and pay in advance (I understood this to be online, like the tickets for the museum need to be purchased, but it wasn't something we realized was possible until we saw an instructor starting with maybe 5 kids, and lots of extra spaces... so that was my one disappointment). The museum is a really interesting and entertaining space, and I expect the need to purchase tickets online is to make sure it never becomes so crowded that visitors don't get ample time to play the games they want to revisit or try out. I was honestly impressed by the tech layout and mostly full English explanations throughout, at a place I originally expected to just mildly interest minecraft-fan kiddo. Worth a visit if too hot or cold or rainy to be outside on Jeju ♡

Very awesome, interesting, and informative museum. This is the first computer museum I've ever been to, so I don't know if there are any better ones or not. This one has four floors filled with games, computers, merchandise, etc. I paid 8,000 Won a ticket and I think the price was agreeable, even though I was only there for about 45 minutes. I definitely recommend.

Great for tech enthusiasts and MapleStory fans! There's an option to upgrade your ticket to include some quick activity but unfortunately it's only in Korean. Nonetheless the museum is entertaining enough! Highly recommend to spend around 2~3 hrs here!

(Translated by Google) It's a fun and informative place for adults who like computers and children who like games. On the second floor, everything from old games to the latest games that you play with game packs that you played at your childhood friend's house is stocked. In particular, it is installed so that you can play old games yourself, so you can have a fun time. I tried playing with my daughter, but I was new to my old memories. The exhibition hall on the 1st floor, where you can look back at the history of computers and see how much computers have been developed so far, was a great educational time as you could easily understand and access a lot of good information by listening to the docent guide. On the 3rd floor, there is a space for various coding experiences, and although children love it very much, I think I could easily access coding. I had a mouse production experience and an LED light production experience with an illuminance sensor according to the day I went, and although there is an experience fee of 10,000 won each, I highly recommend participating. This place was really remarkable! Such a nostalgic feeling, the sounds and the old tvs and consoles are really the highlight of this museum. I remembered the days when after school I would sit on my couch and play games till night time, when my mom came back from work kkkk... If you love games I surely recommend nexon computer museum.

Very nice museum where we can see and experience all kinds of history in relation to computers and games in Jeju Island Korea. Kids and children will love here.

Lovely collection of historical though contemporary computer and video game equipment. There is roughly a 50/50 split between "computer" system stuff and video game console stuff. Some systems, both computer and consoles are available to play, and others are there on the shelf behind glass. There is plenty to interact with though, and it is nicely organized. Worth visiting if you like computers or gaming, and you are on Jeju Island!

A fascinating place witnessing the history of computer era. The children enjoy their quality time here playing lot of games. There are four floors, each of them having computers of different decades. This was my first visit to such kind of museum, so can't compare it with others. But definitely worth place to visit.

Great place to learn more about the history of technology. They have different game consoles and arcades to play with. A nice place for families and people who are interested in technology! If you couldn't reserve online beforehand, they had no problems selling the tickets to you there.

NCM has a very extensive collection of playable arcade games. If you're a Namco/Konami junkie, then this is a must-see.

A nostalgic trip into the history of computing, with a focus on gaming. Some of the consoles/games didn't work, which was a little disappointing but still a great way to spend a few hours playing arcade or video games with a partner.

Fantastic look at nearly every computer ever made. Really good for kids. The adults can play old games that they used to play 30 or so years ago.
