Wow! It looks like a place where historical films about Kievan Rus are filmed, but this is real architecture. This is a very large national museum of the life of the Ukrainian people. It seems that the village, which is 100 years old, was simply moved in time and placed in the middle of the forest. You don't see the end, you see the beginning. Even in a moment you forget what year it is.

Well worth the visit! You get to see how people used to live hundreds of years ago. This is open air museum is a collection of authentic houses and churches from all over Ukraine. They were dismantled and reconstructed in this historical park. Some houses are more then 200 years old. I’ll of the houses are original (not reconstructions). Most of the are open and decorated with authentic household items. It’s very interesting to see what people were using during their daily life back then. Churches are still used today for service and during holidays. When you’ll get hungry you’ll find plenty of great authentic food on the premises. It will take you several hours to see the whole park, so schedule at least ½ day. You can also rent bicycles and get to places faster. In fact many locals come here just to ride their bikes. It is a great retreat from city life. Even though the park is in the city, you’ll feel like you are in a village.

Great open air museum with authentic Ukrainian houses 17-20cc, household items and such. There are many places to eat and many souvenirs. If you want to see more and to do more, come at the weekends, then many houses are open, more cafes seem to work and there are more souvenirs. The area is huge! So, be ready to walk or get a special "auto-tour" on excursions car or rent a bike! Enjoy your time!

You can spend about 3 hrs walking around here and the structures are beautiful. In one section there are later architectures in brick all representing different regions of Ukraine. Plenty of space to lay down a blanket and picnic or snooze. Plenty of shops for food and souvenirs for the tourist.

Very interesting place. A lot of examples of old Ukrainian culture, connected with countryside. In the half of huts you may come inside. Good is Absent problem with toilets. This place had a good amount of food court with in most cases fried food. You can walk and watch during the day(this place have enough place for walk during 3 days) and don't have questions about where I can eat or use toilet or have a rest.

Beautiful park and area just out of the center of Kiev. Worth a visit if you have more time and like such remote, historic and different locations, the day was really warm and sunny and this really made the experience very memorable. Little orthodox churches are simple outside, but so beautiful inside. The smell of wood very unique. Make your day a bit different and come here, plenty to see, area is really big, good location to take some beautiful pictures as well.

Love this place! Our favourite place to spend a day with family. You can rent a bike or just walk around all day longer. The weather matters, better to visit the museum in late spring-summer-early autumn and without rain. If you want to participate in some activities, visit hand made fairy - plan your visit on some folk fest day (the schedule is at their internet page). If you prefer calm walking through fields and forest, just go there and enjoy! Must visit for foreigners to touch Ukrainian authentical life, history and just for having fun. Ukrainian cuisine in its best form is presented there, must try!

Beautiful place filled with magic. Incredible to visit each season of the year. Peaceful nature, old houses, full of pagan culture and old signs. Great for photos, meditation or just having fun with the friends. Great price for the tickets. Location is not that easy to reach, but totally worth it. Highly recommend!!!

I highly recommend renting a gold cart or a scooter, it's massive in size. Unfortunately I was not able to go inside houses due to renovations as they said, though I doubt that, it's always closed but they are not allowed to say that. 100% worth the visit though.

It is truly an amazing place. There are so many exhibits of almost all kinds of colonies of Ukraine. The Carpathian regions, the Dnieper regions etc. One should have ample amount of time to roam about the area. At least 3-5 hours are required to explore this place. My recommendation will be to rent a bicycle to have the best experience. There is a nice place to have food inside the territory as well.

This open air museum is well worth visiting to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kyiv.. Covering around 160 hectares, the Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life (Музей народної архітектури та побуту) gives you a feel of how people used to live in different parts of Ukraine. There are six restored rural Ukrainian villages dotted around the place with old huts, wooden mills and churches from all over Ukraine carefully restored.. It's possible to hire a bike at the entrance and cycle through the different eras of Ukrainian architecture featured or take a leisurely stroll along the many paths that meander around this place.. There is an eatery area with a good selection of food and drink available along with local produce such as honey for purchase.. To get here via public transport from downtown Kyiv is relatively straightforward by taking Bus #156 or #172 from Olimpiiska, Lybidska or Vystavkovy Tsentr Metro stations.. Highly recommended place to visit on a warm sunny day..

Museum of Folk Architecture and Life (Pirogovo) is the largest museum in Ukraine situated on 150 hectares big area. Have a feeling of real immersion in the coloring of the Ukrainian village. Here you can feel the "soul" of Ukrainian people. The huts, the oldest of which is dated to 1587 are filled with samples of household items, clothing, icons. There are modern craftsmen reviving traditional crafts according to old traditions in the museum. Can enjoy historic scenery as well as the living spirit of hard working and fun having Ukrainian people.

A perfect document of Ukrainian folk culture awaits at a sprawling open-air museum on the southern outskirts of the city. Rural architecture from six different Ukrainian regions has been moved to this site and reassembled in six distinct villages. There are more than 300 buildings, from churches to dwellings to workshops, in a living museum where you can watch time-honoured crafts in action like forging, weaving and pottery. The museum was founded in 1969 and over time has amassed some 70,000 artefacts. On show in old rustic buildings are glassware, ceramics, costume, metalwork, woodwork, embroidery and carpets, all opening a window on folk crafts and culture in days gone by.

Traveling through Ukraine! Nice idea, good place, need small improvements for better orientation, such as maps of the region in front of the houses or QR codes, etc. Nice escape from downtown, for a less than 5$ for one direction with Uklon

It's obvious that this place could use some work but even with that it deserves 5 stars. Great overview of the traditional Ukrainian huts. When I visited not all the huts were open, which was a good thing because I was able to see a little bit of everything. Be prepared for a lot of walking.

Amazing place for a walk and history page with or without kids. Mostly shops and cafes dont accept credit cards so have enough cash with you. Entrance fees 50 uah per adult. Tour can take from 2 to 4 hours, you can hire a guide but not sure if in English or not. Highly recommended anyway. Enjoy!

There was a crazy Ukrainian woman who yelled on us because we didn't read in ukrainian language that we have to wear masks in her garden. The rest of ladies were very nice. Most of the buildings were closed, the trip was very long (12 km). Take some blanket because you can do a picnic there.

(Translated by Google) A unique museum of folk architecture, a good attempt to divide the territory into its own architectural exhibits, folklorized cultural events and catering establishments. The access regime of the museum is very specific, with a national flavor. Some acquaintances of acquaintances pop cars around the territory of the museum, even during mass events, by the way without paying 400 hryvnias. check-in, while the family on the bikes must pay more and there is no choice, because bicycle parking is not visible there.

I once chatted with my grandmothers from the folk ensemble, so they said that they performed at their own expense. Even, they don't pay for the road (((it's just a shame !!!! Everything is kept thanks to people, as well as across all Ukraine (Original) Красота!!!

(Translated by Google) The museum is great! It is a pity that souvenir kiosks and kebabs are located along the main street! It would be worthwhile to transfer this "beauty" somewhere on the sidelines - for example, in the territory of the "socialist village". And so it is obvious that someone is personally interested in this!

(Translated by Google) A good place if you want to feel the space. Used for walks for half a day or all day. On the territory there are places to eat, have fun and buy souvenirs combined with viewing the huts, there are tours. The downside - there is only one good toilet that works in the summer. Bio toilets are abandoned.

The houses on the territory of the museum are up to 500 years old, there are many temples and a school. The open-air museum has more than a hundred thousand exhibits such as clothing, furniture, fabrics, tools, children's toys and the like

Atmospheric place. I really liked it! But it is better to visit it by bike or scooter, because impossible to get around this park on foot in a day!...

It's a unique place where you can go back in time. Apart from beautiful nature you can see the interiors of old Ukrainian houses from different times in history. During festivals they offer lots of tasty traditional food and have concerts. The territory is huge, you might want to rent bikes.

I love these kind of museums where we can see how people used to live back in the day, too bad it doesn't have paragraphs to learn more about it. Sundays is very busy with families. Also lot of walking and no map at the entrance.

Lovingly maintained open air museum with lots of folklore and buildings with original interior to be explored. Best place to spend a day throughout the year for a great experience, enjoying the different seasons in an authentic setting. Plenty of cute little foodstalls allow for rest, refreshments and good food along the numerous pathways. Top marks!
