Sree
Sankaranarayana
Temple
is
one
of
the
oldest
temples
in
Kerala.
Temple
with
lord
Sankaranarayana
as
its
diety
is
very
rare.
From
tha
name
itself
it
is
evident
that
the
diety
is
a
combination
of
lord
Siva(
Sankara
)
and
Lord
Vishnu(
Narayana
).
The
temple
is
as
old
as
the
famous
Guruvayur
temple.
The
temple
is
surrounded
by
many
houses
termed
as
Ambalavasis.
The
temple
has
a
beautiful
and
large
pond
in
its
premises.
The
large
banyan
tree
behind
the
temple
which
has
been
there
for
last
several
decades
is
a
sign
of
peace
and
sanctity.
The
annual
celebrations
of
the
festival
is
termed
as
"
Aaraat
"
which
usally
fall
in
the
month
of
Feb/Mar.
The
celebration
starts
with
hoisting
of
temple
flag.
The
next
10
days
will
be
full
of
entertainment
programmes
and
Poojas
to
make
the
lord
happy.
The
festival
culminates
with
the
lowering
of
temple
flag.
Its
a
huge
belief
and
true
too
that
the
Lord
Sankaranarayana
protects
the
people
live
here.
A
must
visit
temple
in
Kerala.
You
will
really
feel
the
presence
of
god
here.
