A little gem in Eastern Prince William. The home dates to 1747, and I hope to explore it sometime, but as a place to take a walk with our dog it is simply wonderful. The property has lots of little paths, a teaching garden, cool breezes, flowers here and there, views, birds and sweet smells from the native and cultivated plantings. Don't miss the boardwalk down the hill and across the street.

Beautiful grounds, not crowded at all in April. The house is closed and reopens in May (through October) but you can see the inside through the windows. You can feel the age and energy of this old property. I didn't see a ghost (I wish I did) but it's nice walking around and getting a glimpse of how life was like back then. Great destination for kids with parents or students.

Historic place. You can take tours of the house and grounds and learn a lot about the history of Virginia and the USA. If you are in the area it is worth a visit.

This time we went to see the ww1 and wwii tents and tables set up with all the different things that the people would have at that time. It was awesome, they even had Jeeps from that time period. We love the garden too.

An historic property with a great history. Lovely, relaxing grounds. Great guide. He obviously had a passion for the history of the home and we had a lovely private tour. Sorry I can't remember his name. A must see. Across from the entry is a fantastic park for kids, exercise enthusiasts and the Neabsco Boardwalk. A great day trip!!

I grew up around Rippon Lodge, but it was a private residence then. I was thrilled to visit it now that it is a museum. We visited on December 1 st so the house and grounds were decorated with Christmas through the Ages. The displays were fascinating. You can easily decide how much time to spend as the house is average size, but the grounds are huge and there’s lots of space to explore.

We attended during WWII days. Awesome reenactors and staff at the lodge. It's really a nice gem in Woodbridge.

The staff is full of historic information and oh so friendly! We went on a murder mystery tour and it was wonderful! After the tour there was a storyteller about deaths-by-duel true stories that ended up at the house and s'mores!

This was a pretty cool place to explore with the family. We like to get into the history of where we live and this place has plenty of that.

I visited Rippon Lodge during Mother's Day weekend. Tours were free for moms. I love the grounds and gardens of Rippon Lodge, the house seems very grand from the outside, so I was kind of expecting the same from the inside. There are some beautiful areas within the house like cherrywood paneling. Some of the home is being restored to look 1820/1850 era. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the family who built the house, and she also explained how the house was passed down and sold. I recommend seeing the house and hearing the history, but I must say it's not one of my favorites.

I explored just the grounds on my first visit, two years ago. This is my follow up since then. Tours for the lodge are available during normal hours for a small fee. The grounds are open until sundown. There is a lot to see, there's a garden that attracts beautiful butterflies. I like the garden areas, lots of birds chirping during my visit, also peaceful after hours. Has restrooms and picnic tables on site. There are walking trails and Rippon Lodge Park is too far beyond the main gate.

Have walked the entrance hill Many times for exercise and have taken photos on the beautiful preserved grounds with my family. It is located right across from Neabsco Boardwalk Parking lot. I noticed a free mini library on my last trek through. I have yet to take a full tour or see the inside of the buildings. There is ample parking.

Jessica did a lovely tour of the home. It's $5 and well worth it to learn local history. Grounds are free to walk, there are some trails, and they allow photography sessions.

Prince William County did a great job with this property. I recommend going when the main house is open for viewing - Friday through Monday.
