The staff is very friendly and makes sure you are comfortable. They are happy to answer any questions you have regarding your exam and the tests they are performing. Due to Covid, they usher you inside, ask a few questions, obtain any signatures needed then immediately take you to your exam room. Everything appears neat and clean. Dr Robert is extremely friendly and professional. He's been taking care of my optical needs for many years now. On occasion I have gone elsewhere due to optical benefits and have never felt confident in the care as it's usually impersonal and rushed. Dr Robert always takes the time to explain the results of my tests and goes over and above in his thoroughness. Thank you all! Your care is greatly appreciated!

The exam started on time as scheduled. The staff was very courteous and explained each test that they were doing. Dr Roberts then did a thorough eye exam and prescription check. He answered any questions and concerns that I had in detail. I have been using him for years and will continue to do so.

Dr Robert is awesome; I went through five eye doctors before I found one that got my RX correct. RUN from any “doctor” that tells you that you have to “get used to” a new RX for glasses/contacts. Dr Robert has made at least three changes to my RX over the 25+ years that he has been taking care of my vision needs. He runs behind schedule but he will give you the time you need. Eye are important and hidden dangers to our long term ability to see is a serious matter to Dr Robert. He is awesome!

I went to Midwest Eye for a regular eye appointment and was so impressed with all of the employees there. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and Dr. Robert is terrific as a doctor! I went to him years ago and due to my current insurance I was able to go back to him again. Great experience! I had not been in for a comprehensive eye exam in a very long time. Dr. Robert was recommended to me from someone that has been going to him for many years. Everyone that I met there was very Professional and very friendly. My eye exam was very thorough and I now have a good starting point going forward. Highly unprofessional administrative office. Optical store and eye doctor are very good but once they turn it over to their administration, be aware. Glasses do not arrive within 3 weeks of ordering. Nobody follows up or calls you to cancel appointments if glasses or contacts are not in for appointments, to pick them up. Contacts are not labeled for left or right eye. Orders are being mixed up and show up with up to 4 weeks delay.

Recommended by a friend, Dr Robert was wonderful for my five year old daughter’s first eye exam and my routine annual. Obviously you want a doctor with knowledge and expertise (and he has it plus all the latest equipment and testing tools), but what I think makes Dr Robert above and beyond most others is his bedside manner; his ability to make you feel comfortable while explaining any and everything you want to understand about eyes and the various tests and results. He takes his time with each patient and was as kind and effective with my five year old as he was with me. I originally had an appointment for another eye care place but they canceled last minute. I called numerous places on a Saturday morning and none of them would take me. I wish I called this place first, they took me in as soon as they could. Helped me with my insurance coverage and found the best plan to get around paying those extra fees. They were all so kind and helpful. The doctor was very helpful and recommended a brand that was the same that I was using but the cheaper version. They even gave me a rebate! I will be going here for now on.

Top notch place for eye care. They have ophthalmologists on staff (a medical Dr.). That's a big step up from your typical eye care establishment. If you care about your eyes, that should matter. The entire office is professional and courteous. It took no time to get through the insurance billing... And that can be difficult for some I care clinics. I highly recommend these guys.

Beyond excellent from top to bottom! A very, very good experience for my first visit. I have used other doctors/private practices during the last 30 years or so but Dr. Robert has been the most thorough by far as examining and reviewing results and making sure that he gets it 100% done accurately. The entire team from initial reception, assistants, optometrists are top shelf performers. I walked away feeling completely comfortable with my examination and choice of new glasses. I couldn’t speak more highly of a doctor or their practice!

I really enjoyed my previous eye dr but we moved so I needed to find a new one in the suburbs. I found this office through yelp and had a mostly good experience. While they were upfront in informing me there was a contact lens “service fee,” I did not expect it to be as high as it was. The staff were all very friendly and I enjoyed chatting with DR Bauer. The only problem was when I was checking out. The woman at the desk wasn’t sure how to order my contacts and almost charged me double. Not sure if I’ll come back based on costs alone. That being said, the office seemed very up to date and clean.

Brought my 95 year old mother-in-law in for an appointment and classes. Everyone could not have been kinder or more patient. Dr. Robert did a wonderful job explaining her diagnosis to her. She did not want to spend a lot on glasses and they were able to offer her low cost options. A great experience!

I had been having a lot of issues with my eyes in the past three months including huge floaters. It’s been extremely frustrating. I had gone to see a specialist twice and felt even more frustrated. Today I saw Dr. Bower and he made me feel so much better by listening to my worries, providing me with excellent information and a great sense of humor. He prescribed me different contacts that helped me see much better and informed me I was wearing readers that were much too weak. I came there fearful I was losing my vision, but left feeling reassured my condition was not that bad and could definitely improve. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

From preliminary tests performed by the assistant Malory to the actual exam itself by Dr Robert, I was informed every step of the way what each test was intended to achieve and whether or not any issues or possible problems were observed. I've been seeing Dr Robert for several years now and have been very pleased with his work.

I’ve been with Midwest Eye for the past two years. The doctor had great recommendations for switching to contacts and takes the time to explain everything he’s doing. I went to Midwest Eye for the first time recently. I was very impressed with the detailed examination they did on my eyes. Everyone there were very pleasant and explained what was being done. Midwest Eye in Downers Grove is excellent. The office is large and also has a seperate lens and frame area. Relocated to this remodeled office space a few years ago. Dr Todd Robert and his entire staff are friendly and listen to your concerns. Midwest Eye uses all state of the art equipment. Dr. Robert is very detail oriented and spends whatever time is necessary in reviewing the results of your exam. I have never felt rushed thru any exam. I highly recommend Midwest Eye and Dr. Robert to anyone seeking vision care.

Appointment was right on time. I felt extremely safe as they went above and beyond to meet all CDC guidelines for COVID. All personnel from the time I got there till the time I left all introduced themselves and before being handed over to the next person asked if I had any questions. Dr Todd was extremely personable and thorough in doing my eye exam. I would have no problem referring him to any friend or family. He had an internist working with him today and they both worked together very well. I wish all doctor appointments went as well.
