Ponnur, the town is famous for a monolithic Hanuman Statue (gaint Size) and Garuda Bhagavan statue (another gaint size), both granite. Also, Sahasra Lingeswara swamy (1000 Shiva Lingams, individual), Sakshi Bhavannarayana Swamy temple. Ponnur was known as Swanapuri in yester years.

This island center is the main road in ponnur and most of the businesses are located on this road way only. But very old shops and a heavy crowd area. Huge traffic is running in this area.

Main Center of the Ponnur and Nidubrolu, GBC Road Divided the Ponnur and Nidubrolu, ISland center is the center of Tenali,Repalle,Bapatla,Guntur Bus stops.

Now it's only one memory , Here lot of rush , and towing vehicle business is here , very rush in general hours ,due to bus stop point for near by villages and bapatla , guntur busses also here only starting

Very worst. No chair availability to sit elders and children for those who go ponnur to repalle. And more over rainy season.

Traffic rules is not good, no one fallow the traffic rules.
