Undeniably the finest Japanese cuisine you can enjoy in Newcastle-Upon Tyne with Hanahana coming in at a close second place. I wanted to eat here several times, trying different variations of their lunch and dinner sets, before offering a review as I was pleasantly surprised at how good both the food and the experience as a whole was after a single whimsical lunch there. I’m pleased to inform that Fujiyama simply does not miss. You’re going to see the freshest ingredients brought out in all their naked glory to be meticulously cooked by professional, trained chefs. You’re going to see eggs juggled, plumes of flames aloft and art made with rice whilst you eagerly await that sizzling cut of salmon to grace your plate. One might think that a buffet of delicious courses cooked by entertaining veteran chefs would be enough to take a hefty bite out of anyone’s wallet - but you would be wrong. I genuinely don’t know why they aren’t charging at least 1.5 times the price as the food and service is worth at least double in my humble opinion. Before I sign off, two last things to mention. 1. This would be a fantastic place to take someone on a first date. 2. Their salmon is godly. Try it.

Absolutely fantastic evening! The staff, the food, the experience were all amazing! Shout out to North Shields who looked after our drinks all night and our chef James Bond who was incredible! We can't wait to come back and have already been recommending to family and friends 🎉🔥

Celebrated a number of family birthdays here and the atmosphere, quality of the food and lovely staff never fails to impress. Tonight,our Grandaughter's 21st, was no exception. Fabulous

Excellent meal and experience for my girlfriends 20th birthday! We were disappointed and more than anything surprised to be the only customers but it did mean service was quick! Staff helpfully explained the menu to us but sadly they only had salmon sushi available, despite this being excellent it would have been great to sample more. The real highlight was the set menu cooked in front of us, got to try a bit of everything across many courses and it was all exquisite from the salad starter, the ribs to the chicken to finish. The experience and celebratory show they provided was top class and very interactive which is the main perk of choosing to dine here but the quality, freshness of food and the delightful nature of the chef should not be under appreciated

Had a lovely meal here after work. We were able to walk in without a reservation but did have to wait 40 minutes for one of the chef's to be available - I'd suggest booking ahead to avoid missing out. The experience was great, the chef made it very fun and enjoyable and the food was delicious. Some of it was a little overcooked but the flavours used were great. They have a lot of different options for the food and ask about allergies before hand. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I would go again, probably booking ahead of time with a big enough group to fill a table (6-8 people). Ideal for a birthday or other celebration!

Loved the Teppanyaki here, we got the seafood banquet. The lobster was cooked with amazing flavours and was really juicy. There wasn’t a great selection of drinks though. I would also not bother getting anything other than the Teppanyaki banquet, I got a bowl of udon for £10 which was not good value when theres better banquet options available! Chef and service from waiters was super, really friendly. We got a lovely birthday show on the grill and a sing song, very nice, would definitely come back here!

This place is absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We all left with a smile! Service is lovely and they are very attentive in every aspect, interaction between the guests and chef is great too this time we came for a birthday and he made a lovely birthday message too which was a lovely touch. Fantastic experience all round. 7 family sat round a table with the hot plate for everyone to enjoy the chef's skills and be entertained whilst being served delicious food. More than a meal and one you'll never forget. Excellent service in a themed restaurant make for a wonderful experience. The prices are great for what you get. It's not really expensive, but don't expect it to be cheap. If it were cheap you would wonder where they cut corners. It is value for the money.

Visited the Fujiama Teppanyaki restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience! Chefs were skilled and entertaining, and each dish was a flavorful delight. The atmosphere was perfect for any occasion, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend for an unforgettable dining adventure!

Party of 11, everyone freezing cold. Most of us kept our coats on all night. Got our meat/fish way before the rice/veg so if was cold. Over priced for quality of what you get. The staff are really lovely and try to entertain but it was so cold most of us couldn’t wait to leave. Wouldn’t go again.

My friend and I went for lunch today. The staff are lovely , very friendly , welcoming and polite. The food was amazing. The chef was friendly and entertaining. Show off was juggling 4 eggs and caught one in his hat. Excellent, WILL BE BACK !!!!

Simply spot on. Impulsive date night with hubby. Didn't make a reservation but they kindly found a space for us. Food spot on and tasty. Staff quite accommodating and friendly.

Food was amazing and staff were helpful, friendly and entertaining. Only down side to the evening was caused by another customer pushing past our table rather than walking round. Definitely worth a visit

We had the most incredible evening here and cannot wait to go back. Every dish was delicious and mouth watering and our chef was extremely entertaining and made the experience 50times better. We had the Chef Special Banquet and the Royale Banquet

Really recommend this place! I've been a couple of times. Food is amazing and will fill you up, good quality ingredients are used and the flavours are wonderful. I suggest to buy the set menu things where you get a set selection of things. Ive had salmon, shrimp, chicken, lobster, scallops, etc, all delicious and fresh, I even had some wonderful steak there and I usually am not a fan of steak, but this one was delicious. Even something as simple as fried rice and vegetables is done deliciously here. The atmosphere is always great, the chefs are friendly and entertaining with their skills and theatrical tricks. Also super fun watching the food on fire :)

Gorgeous food, fantastic entertainment. I took out family of four and the kids really enjoyed it. All the food is cooked in front of you by the chef and he catches eggs in his hat and chopped up an omelette and scooped it to everyone to catch in their mouths like popcorn and that got lots of Whoa's and laughs. Not cheap, we have the standard banquet and it was £100 for 4 plus drinks. But it was a great experience and I highly recommend it for a different night out. The salmon tasted like steak when it was cooked. The photo shows all the ingredients that are freshly cooked on front of you.

Great food and experience 👌 I totally loved the hot plate show from the chiefs and the food was spot on especially the sea food menu which was fresh and delicious I do recommend them 😋
