Used to live in Great lumley 20 years ago and haven't had much reason to go back but that has changed today. Great cafe with delicious home made quiche and soups and gorgeous cakes. The salt and pepper pots are 2 peas which rolled everywhere 😀 my broccoli and stilton soup with a cheese and olive scone excellent, Daz's cheese scone and caramel slice looked good but I wasn't offered any 🤔 and mum's quiche with coleslaw disappeared quickly. All that and 3 teas less than £19. They also do 3 course meals and afternoon teas. Closed on Monday but open til 4 or 5 rest of week. Parking bays in front. Clean cosy and lovely staff. We'll be back to sample more soon thanks👍

Lovely cafe. Great food served fresh and quickly our table had varied items such as miners benedict, scrambled eggs and caesar salad all fab. Bit noisy due to kids 🙄 but not overly so and hasn't been on other visits

First visit. I was hungry after planting 300 trees for wear river trust. A local told me about it. Cafe was busy but 2 tables spare. Ordered a ham sandwich, a fruit scone and an Americana - £10.60 Coffee came really quickly but the rest was a while but then it was very busy. Food was good. Staff pleasant. Would recommend.

We have lived in the village for nearly 2 years but today was the first visit to this wonderful cafe/restaurant. I was on my own with my dog and it was great! I had the full English breakfast which was delicious. Everything cooked perfectly and not at all greasy! I don't eat eggs so the staff very kindly put them in a separate doggy bowl for my girl! Came home with scones for the family and a black forest cake for me......can't wait to try it later! Will 100% be back!

Lovely little cafe. My Mam ordered a fruit scone with cream and jam, I had the lasagne. Both of us had breakfast Tea. We sampled some of the cakes afterwards too. Freshly made food, you could tell they were all made in the kitchen from scratch. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended, would come again.

Tremendous little cafe well worth a visit. Dog friendly but super clean fab choice of food and drinks reasonable prices. Their cakes are out of this world good but you have to get in early for the best selection as they often sell out! Highly recommend and often go out of our way to visit.

The mushroom egg benedict was superb. We went in lockdown so it was takeaway, but we will definitely be returning for a sit down meal - all of the food looked delicious, and the place has a lovely atmosphere.

Attended here for a baby shower which had high tea. The sandwiches were delicious and the cakes really yummy! The staff were very attentive and friendly. All covid safety measures were followed and I did feel safe. I would recommend two sweet peas bistro and I would visit again. 5*
