Was planning a trip to Raby Castle, and decided to find somewhere we could go to, to eat after, with Raby Castle not really offering anything substantial in its Yurt Cafe. Found this place, and we called in. The service was brilliant. A young waiting staff team, who offered impeccable service. They were prompt and polite serving us, and they had a great rapport with their regulars, too. Excellent menu selection, offering lighter optins through to more substantial options, which was what we were after. Opted for homemade pie, chips and beans and then lemon cake. Both were good and as expected. Tidy and clean space. Pot of tea came with extra hot water and was given some scissors to open my sauce sachets. It's the little touches like this that make a difference. I'd definitely call in again if I the area. Had a canny little turn over and I can see why. After about 2:15 they stop serving main meals (understandably as it closes at 3pm) but still serve cake and tea etc, so if your wanting a main meal give yourself time.

Very busy lunchtime but was quickly made aware there would be a wait. Food arrived hot and was very tasty. 2 young waiters did a brilliant job of serving efficiently and calmly and with a pleasant attitude. Would recommend this cafe without question. WARNING! It gets VERY busy!

Had an absolutely fantastic time here for lunch today. The staff were very considerate and friendly, they put two tables together so that our group could eat together. The food was wonderful (especially dessert) and the helpings were generous.

Lovely local cafe. Stopped for lunch during a bike ride. Friendly faces, excellent service and good food. Coffee was really good as well.

Cosy cafe , close to the castle and church in the village, slow service and in need of a bit of modernising, but the food was lovely, the staff were very friendly when they attended to us and the prices were excellent. Everybody appeared to be enjoying their food.

We had an excellent Sunday lunch in this friendly place and also served snacks and breakfasts, with a great pot of tea.
